The server is hosted in the US, but we love having players from all over the world. Here at Odyssey we like to focus on community and making friends: we regularly host events, play community games, work on community builds, and just hang out and play Minecraft together! *Protection and Land-Claiming* We don't have any land-claiming plugins: players are expected to respect player-set borders. We started from a small group of friends, and are looking to attract well-meaning players looking for a new SMP home.
The world is set up to permit mob griefing for villager breeding etc. but prevent creeper, ghast & wither explosions, enderman grief and such, to help players get the most beneficial experiences. All new players have full access to the resource world for exploration and resource gathering, but build access in the main world is limited to those players who pass the Member Test. This is a simple fully-automated quiz based on the ingame tutorial, which can be taken at any time. Once passed, members also have access to the creative plot world and KitPVP worlds. While we don't use land claims, we are strongly anti-grief and will rollback and punish grief, theft, raiding and other bad behaviours. We are currently running Minecraft Java 1.12 and a custom modded jar based on carpet mod. We only dupe bedrock, dragon eggs, elytra, & shulkerboxes. Our server is not fully vanilla, we have pushable tile entities and hopper-enabled crafting tables. Most of the members are experienced in the game, but others are welcome as well! Pretty much all of the stuff we do is community oriented, and we always try to work as a team to accomplish our goals. For those who are unfamiliar with technical servers: We build huge farms and redstone contraptions. Imagine Mumbo Jumbo on steroids. We do not build personal bases, these projects are so huge that we must share all resources and work together as a team. You have awakened in the Pillow Kingdom! Ways to relax in the Pillow Kingdom: Earn money: Is your favorite pass time mining or farming? Maybe you enjoy a good deforesting or two. Trying to see who can catch the biggest fish? You can earn money by doing all of that! Build in an ever-expanding world: The main world for the server is planned to be there for the long-haul. Whatever you build here will be there for a long time. Have fun, go crazy, build a mansion or a little shack. We also have a Resource World. Do whatever you want in that wasteland as it gets reset weekly. Rank up in in the Adventurer's Guild: You can purchase guild ranks with Slayer Points, which you get by killing the Elite Mobs! Ranking up increases what level tier you can get, along with giving you more challenging enemies. Custom bosses and dungeons: We have dungeons and bosses to give you replayability. One of the dungeons, The Sewers, can take up to FIVE HOURS to finish. There's also a really difficult boss called Binder of Worlds which we haven't had anyone beat (as of yet). Tired of losing your items? The server is hard. Like, it's difficult. So, when you die, you don't lose your items, but you do lose 50% durability on your equipment. Be careful, you little babies. Player Skills You mine a lot. I mine a lot. He, she, we, mine a lot. It's Minecraft. We all mine. However, now you can show off how much you mine. With player skills, you can advance in many aspects from the game like mining, farming, enchanting, hell, even just exploring gives you something.
