Make "Redstone Sounds" as a section in the Sounds menu. Posted: 26 Jan 2019 08:29 AM PST Have you ever been annoyed by the clicking of dispensers, pistons or doors? This would just be a quality of life option, just for machines that get a bit too noisy. [link] [comments] |
Stone Cutters Death Message "@s was chopped in half" Posted: 26 Jan 2019 06:45 AM PST Quite simply, I think stonecutters should damage you and have their own death message which would be, fittingly, "@s was chopped in half." I wrote a looped function forjust this, containing only the following commands: [link] [comments] |
If you die because of a campfire, the death message is,"(Player) was burnt at the stake." Posted: 26 Jan 2019 10:00 AM PST |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 04:00 AM PST Any hostile mobs with a square normal sized head should drop it when exploded by a charged creeper. Spiders, enderman, strays, husks, drownds, zombie pigmen, blazes, cave spiders [link] [comments] |
More beach biomes with colorful sand! Posted: 26 Jan 2019 12:42 PM PST IRL beaches have many variants. From the yellowish/golden sand beaches to white sand beaches (also white sand deserts would be nice) the world's beaches aren't all uniform like Minecraft's. There are also many other rare beach types: pink beaches), black beaches and even green beaches [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 01:56 PM PST I think that the hitbox of XP is waaaay too big, since it can't even go through half of a block (slab) but the XP itself looks super small. Idk what to flair the post as lol [link] [comments] |
Empty barrels should rise to the surface and float if placed underwater Posted: 26 Jan 2019 03:02 AM PST Like sand/gravel/concrete powder falling down if unsupported. [link] [comments] |
Joshua Trees instead of Oak in the Wooded Badlands Plateau biome Posted: 26 Jan 2019 12:34 PM PST The Mesa/Badlands biome doesn't seem like a lovely place to live in, especially as a plant. Joshua Trees are great at surviving in such places, wish we got them in Minecraft [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 06:23 AM PST Due to the long absence of an Insomnia Meter in the game, it is - at least for me - rather hard to remember to sleep or to realise that my not sleeping can cause Phantoms to spawn. As such, it makes sense to add an ambient sound that plays whenever the Insomnia Meter has reached a certain level. This would also add to the general ambience of the game, and it would give more depth to Insomnia itself, which at this point is lacking, in my opinion. I propose the unused "Cave Chimes" audio loop found here. The game would pick at random times 2 points of the loop with a 4 - 7 second distance from each other to play. What do you think? Could you compose a more fitting sound or is it completely unnecessary to suggest altogether? [link] [comments] |
Ability to make cobble from stone in a stone cutter Posted: 25 Jan 2019 09:04 PM PST |
Breads should be able to be baked using a smoker/furnace Posted: 26 Jan 2019 03:04 PM PST It makes waay more sense than transforming raw wheat in bread just using a workbench, and it worths much more than spending 3 wheats to make just a single bread. I believe it's a simple but interesting addition to minecraft. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 05:15 AM PST It should be possible to get up to Bad Omen level 20 (maybe even higher?) in Survival. I know levels higher than 5 (when given in commands) do nothing right now, but maybe they should still have the maximum of 10 waves, but higher levels of bad omen spawn more Illagers. This idea is for people who want a HUGE challenge, as players with Sharpness 5, Power 5, Protection 4, Unbreaking 3, Mending and a Shield can easily defeat the highest level raids (no, I'm not just assuming this, I've done it in snapshots.) Posted: 26 Jan 2019 01:04 PM PST i'm tired of building furniture out of doors and other disproportionate stuff. we need some chairs, all kinds of chairs, fancy chairs, shabby chairs, big chairs, thrones, gilded chairs, plain chairs there should also be new trees just for making fancy useless things: teak and mahogandy some chair ideas: [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2019 05:16 PM PST Since dogs tilt their heads when the player holds food and bones, I think cats should do something similar. Maybe the cats can steal the string/wool from the player by jumping up on them. Obviously, the player would be able to eventually get their string back, but I think it would be a nice addition.(if not string maybe fish) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 04:46 AM PST I know rewards to successfully defend an Illager Raid is commonly suggested, but I just wanted to get my opinions out on how it will work → Possible Boss Master Illager/Pillager: At the end of the normal raid (when the mob count bar reaches 0), it will spawn a Master Illager or Master Pillager (50/50 chance) with a few Pillagers/Illagers (according to the boss spawned ofc). It will be slightly large than their original counterparts and have significantly higher health, weapons with very high attack damage (could be a special type of Axe or Crossbow/Bow for Illager and Pillager type respectively) and with Iron/Diamond armor, making it comparable to an Iron Golem if any is present. They also can hold a shield (they won't block every attack) or a totem of undying (when activated it heals 10-15 hearts/20-30HP and gains regeneration level 1 for 5-8 seconds, as opposed to the overpowering effects a player gets) in the offhand The health, attack damage, attack speed of the weapon they hold, armor tier, armor/weapon chance of being enchanted, enchantment level (if the item is enchanted), totem power (if a totem is held), shield block chance (if a shield is held), Illagers/Pillagers spawned at the start depends on the regional difficulty of the chunk including the center of the village (the coordinates by /locate) at the start of the raid, not solely by game difficulty When the boss is killed (in any way, not just by a player or a dog), it drops their weapon and 1/8-1/6 the experience equivalent to the first kill of the ender dragon (depends on the regional difficulty again lol) → Villager Attributes Prizes: Villagers will come out and give the player a reward, according to their trading level (the badge), village size, villagers lost in the raid, and possibly player interactions before in the village (e.g. times traded with villagers, times hurt/killed villagers, times hurt/killed any natrual iron golems in the village). This can be shown using an NBT tag and the value for villagers lost will be reset after the prize-giving Rewards (Assuming that the value is from -1.0 to 1.0) - -1.0 Poisonous Potato/Rotten Flesh/Nearly broken armor or tools/cursed books (new curses could be added) - -0.5 Bone/Bone Meal/Iron or Gold Nuggets/Low-tier armor or tools/Paper - 0.0 Wheat/Crop seeds/Raw meat/Coal/Lapis/Redstone/Iron or Gold Ingots/Medium-tier armor or tools/Leather/Feather/Books - 0.5 Crop produce/Bread/Cooked meat/Diamond/Emerald/Book and Quil/High tier armor or enchanted low-medium-tier armor/Compass/Clock/Empty Map - 1.0 Any crafting-required food/Bottles-O-Enchanting/Random (pre-made) written diaries of people arriving at the village before/Enchanted Books/Enchanted high-tier armor/Woodland Explorer or Ocean Explorer map Trade Discounts: After a raid, any player who is in the village raid would get trade discounts from a 5% off to a maximum of 60% off (non-integers would be rounded up to the nearest one), according to the same requirements as in the prize giving section Special Trades: After a raid, 1-3 random villager(s) would unlock a special trade to a random player in the village (another player cannot access the trade), but the stocks would be far less than normal trades and could not be unlocked again after running out of stock, and the player who landed the killing blow on the Master Illager/Pillager boss could also unlock a special trade with the same statistics stated before, the possible trade ideas are: Perfect Enchantment Diamond Gears (Max 3 uses) - Fishing Rod (Fisherman) - Bow (Fletcher) - Armor (Will NOT unlock all 4 pieces) (Armorer) - Sword or Shovel or Axe or Pickaxe (Toolsmith) - Optional: Carrot on a Stick (Butcher) - Optional: Flint and Steel (Will unlock trade to either sword, pickaxe, Axe or shovel as well) (Toolsmith) - Optional: Shears (Shepeard) - Optional: Hoe (Farmer) - Optional: Shield (Will unlock trade to one piece of armor as well) (Armorer) - Optional: Crossbow (Fletcher) - Enchanted Golden Apples (Max 13 Uses) - Nether Star (Max 7 Uses) - Zombie/Creeper Head/Skeleton Skull (Max 4 Uses) - Wither Skeleton Skull (Max 8 Uses) - End Crystal (Max 20 Uses) - Totem of Undying (Max 6 Uses) - Mending+(1 Random level 15+ enchantment) Enchanted Book (Max 7 Uses) Increased Defense: The villagers can learn how to use weapons after their first raid and can have better skill using the weapons and have better weapon/armor material every raid/zombie killed - Bow aim rate: Base 35% accuracy, +7.5% per raid, +0.0025% per zombie killed, maximum 80% accuracy - Sword/armor material: 2nd raid leather/wood, 3th raid iron, 5th raid diamond - Enchanting rate: +7.5% per raid, +0.001% per zombie killed - Enchanting level: +250 XP per raid, +1 XP per zombie killed - Enchanting level accumulates same as player experience Population Rehabilitation: After a raid for 5 minutes villagers have an increase willingness to breed and villager children can grow up faster in the period - Rates: Easy: 20%, Normal: 15%, Hard: 8% [link] [comments] |
There should be more particular books for Minecraft (read this) Posted: 26 Jan 2019 03:16 AM PST This may not be a good idea, but I know a lot of people like the book-writing feature in Minecraft and, for my opinion, it makes the gameplay much better. Even though you already have a crafting recipe book, you need other particular books that include:
Those where my ideas. If you want these to come true, slap the upvote button. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] |
Sawmill- a stonecutter for wooden blocks Posted: 26 Jan 2019 02:33 AM PST For those who are unaware, the stonecutter can be used to craft many types of stone blocks into their variants such as bricks, chiselled, smooth, walls, slabs, stairs and so on. I propose the sawmill as an equivilant for wooden recipes to maintain consitancy. It will also solve the discrepancy between stair recipes which now exists as the stonecutter produces block:stair 1:1 while the standard crafting recipe is 3:2. A similar optimisation would only be fair for wooden stairs. RecipePossibly 3 logs along the bottom with an iron ingot in the middle. This would match the stonecutter recipe fairly well. UsageSame gui as the stonecutter but crafts wooden blocks instead. These are as follows: Planks:
Logs:
Wood (bark):
Feel free to suggest any other recipes I may have missed. I decided that sticks, doors, trapdoors and fence gates would not qualify for this as they are not simple block shapes. This is of course a matter of opinion so input is welcome. Edit: I searched for previous suggestions but managed to miss this under the name of woodcutter. I stand by my name choice but do check out derborgus3333's suggestion as well. [link] [comments] |
Karst Landscape / Limestone Pavement Posted: 26 Jan 2019 07:47 AM PST First off I apologise for lack of imagery, I had two screenshots but I wasn't able to link them on. -_- Anyhow, let's get started! <> Karst Landscape Limestone would be the majority of the biome's composition. If you look to the absent image I was unable to provide (lol), you can see that it is a very rugged and beautiful landscape. This is because Limestone is a soft, permeable, sedimentary rock making it sensitive to erosion due to hydraulic action. With lots of vegetation around and about I think that a Karst Limestone biome could be a visually appealing new biome and a great excuse to add limestone. I also think that the biome should generate slightly higher than the Plains and other biomes, just like Extreme Hills does if you get me. <> Limestone Pavement My Limestone Pavement biome idea comes from my own corner of the world: The Burren in County Clare, Ireland. The Burren is a very strange sort of a landscape. It is an area of exposed limestone from glacial erosion and for millions of years it has been weathered down into a more plains-like version of the Karst Landscape. Burren plant life has an unusual variety of both Mediterranean flowers such as the spring gentian and more Arctic flowers like the mountain aven growing alongside each other. The biome of course would be made up of a rough terrain of limestone and it would generate around the Karst Landscape biome. It would have some trees dotted here and there and small bushes similar to those in the Jungle biome. Also maybe even Hazelnuts could be added but it's not entirely necessary. Both biomes would contain passive mobs such as cows sheep pigs etc. Rabbits especially, llamas only in the Karst landscape. <> New block Limestone! Limestone would be a light grey block with a similar texture to stone. It would generate in layers for 5-7 blocks like sandstone in these biomes. Some could even contain fossils however this is a very arbitrary idea. Limestone could be crafted into bricks, slabs, stairs, brick slabs, brick stairs and chiselled limestone blocks using the Stonecutter block. Crafting it into tools and weaponry would simply lead to stone tools. So, if you like this concept please slam that upvote button. What are your comments? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 11:31 AM PST Imagine shooting splashing potions from your crossbow, accompanied by dazzling colored lights because you can. I know, right? (*cough\, multishot, *cough**) Also, buff potion fireworks for use with your elytra. slow fall, anyone? Yeah, Youre welcome. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 04:03 PM PST Now that we have a new block that makes crafting recipes for slabs obsolete, wouldn't it make perfect sense to give the stonecutter the ability to make 2 sideways slabs out of blocks, or 1 sideways slab from a regular slab? If there's a reason this is impossible, please correct me, but I don't see any obvious reason why they couldn't add this. Before crafting recipes were an issue, but if they added things like wood to the stonecutter as well, that would add so many possibilities to the block, making it much more useful and worthwhile. While they're at it, this block gives the potential to add so many more types of different shaped and textured blocks, just like the loom did with banner patterns. This isn't technically my suggestion, but I felt it needed to be said. With crafting recipes no longer needed for these types of blocks, the recipes don't need to get more complicated because of this block. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 03:01 PM PST There could be a retired sea captain villager. He could trade gold and treasures with the player, but similar to the cartographers he would also trade maps. The maps would be shipping charters showing where shipwrecks are. I'm not sure exactly how it would show this but I was thinking it could either be a straight x on the shipwreck or maybe it would show the path of the ship and the shipwreck would be somewhere along that path. As an added bonus, the game could classify shipwrecks as Charted or Uncharted, and the Uncharted ones would have much rarer treasure in them [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2019 01:50 PM PST I know magic is an overused topic, but this might be a way to use magic in minecraft, or maybe not, this is just an idea Totems: You can craft your own totems
Alter:
Gems: New ores
Totem Enchants:
Totem Spells: Traded with librarian or a new villager type

You can waterlog a stonecutter, resulting in the animation stopping Posted: 25 Jan 2019 04:35 PM PST Currently, the Stonecutter can't be waterlogged, and the never stopping animation ruins the usability of the block sometimes. So I suggest that you can waterlog stonecutters, and if you waterlog them they "malfunction" resulting in the animation stopping. This won't affect the functionality of the block, only the animation. If you break it and place it again, the animation will come back. [link] [comments] |
