Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #65: Castle Posted: 17 Feb 2019 05:11 AM PST LAST WEEK'S THEME: FLOATING ISLANDSLeaderboards are up to date!! GoldYes, there are shaders. Scroll down the album and you'll find the regular pictures we judged, he didn't violate any rules. Just a really interesting build. Really liked what I saw here. This is one of those few builds I can say looked really cool from both a distance and up close. Usually I wouldn't say that because the detail you need to put in to make a build look cool from a distance really makes it look messy from up close. However, all of those different blocks here were all so closely related (in colour) that it still worked for me. And the heaven just looked incredible. Again, an awesome block variation to make it look that good and the stairway blended in nicely. Overall, an amazing build! SilverWell, I got to say I never expected to see glass islands floating in the air. It was stretching the line on what could be accepted but overall, I like how you tried to make it seem as natural as possible (especially by building the glass islands really similarly to a "normal" island. I did really like the structure you made in the centre however some shots made it look very confusing, with pieces of stone, quartz or whatnot jutting out. Also, while I liked your take on the islands, with glass, I feel it was a unique idea that didn't pay off as well in my mind at least. Personally, since they are clear, I found that they really blended in with the ground and some of them were hard to see. I think the effect would have been more profound on me had I been able to easily see the sheer number. Still an awesome build though! BronzeI really liked this build. It was 'simple' compared to the other winners but very well built. I liked the cool island with the floating crystal and the tower was well built. I also just liked the island itself. You didn't make it completely out of stone and mixed in some other blocks, which is great because that's similar to minecraft generation, with those random blocks here and there. Great build! Honourable mentions IntroductionHere is the challenge it seems everyone has been suggesting for the past weeks, the good old castle. So let's get to work and build one of the most well known fortified structures in minecraft! To war! New Textures Since we have a semi-official release of the new textures, they are now allowed (along with the old ones). However, if you use the new textures, please specify. I wouldn't want to think you're using a texture pack and disqualify you. I'm not as used to the textures, so I may not recognize them right away. Inspiration ChallengeCastle Thanks to everyone for this suggestion countless times Build a castle. Rules
