Posted: 17 Feb 2019 04:51 AM PST Currently, the End is really bland compared to the overworld and even the Nether, there aren't much structures and biomes or even weather. So these are my ideas for some sort of weather in the end. Note: weather only starts happening when the Ender Dragon is slain, to prevent distraction Ender auraEnder aura is based on polar aura in real life. In this rare event, the sky will slowly turn light purple and switch between purple, dark blue and pink, purple particles will float around and the sky will emit a light level of 7, basically sunlight, but in the End, and it's dimmer. During this event, Endermen will be less hostile, they won't get angry when you look at them, but they will still attack when you punch them. Endermen will also look at the sky as if admiring the beautiful sky. Void FogWhen a void fog appears, your range of vision slowly decreases, think of the blindness effect or this. At first, you won't notice it, but then it will slowly become noticeable. Everything's vision is also blinded so Endermen also won't get angry when you look at them. The fog will slowly fade away after a while. Night vision will reduce this fog effect. black blizzardAn upgraded version of void fog, just like how thunderstorms are an upgraded version of rain, there will be wind howling noises heard and black particles will fall from the sky. If you stay outside for too long you start taking damage that increases over time, and your hearts will also be black while you take damage, kind of like hunger and wither effect combined. This effect will slowly wear off when you seek shelter, endermen aren't affected by this. [link] [comments] |

Bricks (not brick blocks) should be a throwable item Posted: 17 Feb 2019 02:42 PM PST Like snowballs, except they do actual damage. And if you throw one at a window, it breaks. I dunno, I was looking through my creative inventory and noticed the single brick and the idea just came to me. If they can make anvils into a weapon because cartoons, I don't see why this would be too out there. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2019 07:20 AM PST There really isnt that many storms in the game so I suggest the following. Sandstorm- This would occure in the dessert when other biomes would have a thunderstorm. Basically a bunch of sand particals are moving around and there is a sort of fog (similar to at bedrock). Blizard- This would basically be the sandstorm but for snow biomes. There would also be a buch of snow layers that get placed down. Ocean storms- You guessed it, these occur at sea. Basically a bunch of grey clouds generate and it gets really dark, then there is a bunch of rain and thunder. While this is happening there would be something new happening to the water. The surface of the water would be rapidly changing by a "layer" or 2 pushing you around or breaking your boat. What I mean by "layers" is what happens when you stop the source of flowing water and the very edges go down to a thin layer of water before disapearing. Fog- This would happen on land occasionally instead of rain(only in biomes where it can rain). It would just be kind of like how in the nether you cant see very far except it wouldnt be red it woupd be light blue or white. [link] [comments] |
Bamboo paper, sugar cane sticks, and bamboo blocks Posted: 17 Feb 2019 06:46 AM PST I recently have built an automatic bamboo farm. I have not found much use for it except for a fuel source (BC I don't use scaffolding much). I think these ideas will help the game players, even if only a little.
B B B 2: Sugar Cane sticks: It kind of makes sense. Just the bamboo stick recipe replaced with sugar cane. S = Sugar Cane S S 3: Bamboo blocks: I think it would make a cool texture, and also make for good primitive huts (if you're a builder). It should also be able to decompress down into the bamboo item. This could also help with more compact storage of bamboo (I have way too much bamboo for my storage system). If you like this idea, please up vote. If gains your approval (I.e 30 up votes or so) I shall post it on the feedback site. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2019 12:22 PM PST I know this has been suggested some already but I think adding seasons to minecraft would over all make the game a bit more exciting. During spring time the grass color would turn into a lighter green and the tree leafs would turn into a brighter green color with small blossoms growing on them, Summer would look the way that minecraft dose now, In autumn the grass color could turn into a light brown and the tree leafs would either turn red, yellow, or orange, In winter lets make it that it snows more often and that the tree leafs turn a deep brown and turn white when it snows. For more info watch this video by a you-tuber named Ant venom who gives more detail about the seasons and other options . Link to the video https://youtu.be/SF_iYjgpiNM [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2019 01:47 PM PST There should be a mechanic villager that sells you redstone supplies. Some trade ideas: 20 redstone → 1 emerald 7 emeralds → 1 observer 2 emeralds + 1 piston → 1 sticky piston 16 torches + 1 emerald → 16 redstone torches and so on I think the mechanic's design would have a toolbelt with some small sacks with redstone dust spilling out, maybe some iron ingots, and, as a neat little reference, some cogs. ye [link] [comments] |
Add the night sky shown in the tiaga biome chooser Posted: 17 Feb 2019 07:04 AM PST |
Lave striders *concept drawing included Posted: 17 Feb 2019 05:39 AM PST Lava striders are the Nether variants of the overworld phantoms, even though they look similar, they act completely different. Instead of flying around like their counterparts, these Nether creatures strides above the vast lava oceans, looking for prey to pounce on. They spawn in groups and they stick close to each other, making them a dangerous foe. When they see a victim, they will dive under the lava's surface for a few seconds, hiding from view, and then suddenly they will bounce up from seemingly nowhere biting your flesh before heading back to the depths of the ocean, they will regroup and then launch another attack. If they land on a solid surface after an attack, they will flap their wings/fins vigorously, trying to seek out the nearest lava pool/ocean. Nether striders don't die on land through, kind of like guardians. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Feb 2019 08:32 PM PST With the recent foxes(1.14) and dolphins(1.13), Mojang had really done a great job making these, but these mobs overshadow the other, original mobs, such as sheep, cows, and pigs, so I think it is time for an overhaul to them. pigspigs are one of the oldest mobs in Minecraft. But all they really do is walk around and do nothing, that's is.
Sheepalong with pigs, these animals are one of the oldest types of animals
Zombieszombies are the very first hostile mobs added to the game, they aren't strong unless encountered in a large group
Note: zombie sieges should also have a boss bar thing like the raid [link] [comments] |
Swap the particles for Nether and End portals (ie make them purple for End, smoke for Nether) Posted: 17 Feb 2019 02:01 AM PST As in the title: End portal should emit purple portal particles; Nether portal should emit smoke. Also, make the Nether portal black (and maybe the End portal purple). Reason: Nether is dark, filled with smoke and fire, so the portal should be black and emit smoke. The End is the home dimension of Endermen (even if it's not canon, it's definitely the dimension with most of them and where they look most at home), so making its portal emit the same strange stuff as the Endermen would make sense. Now the portals look the other way around and it really bugs me why. It's a tiny change programming-wise (changing 3 or 4 lines of code, probably). But it would make the game lore feel more consistent. PS: I hope the 10 karma limit is per whole Reddit, not the sub. If it was for the sub, sorry. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2019 07:34 AM PST I think that mojang should add more birds to the game than what we have now, the chicken and the parrot. I think some good birds to add would be penguins, ducks, some cosmetic birds like cardinals and sparrows, as well as some birds of prey such as eagles and falcons. Ducks and cosmetic birds would be passive, penguins would be neutral, and some birds of prey would be neutral such as owls, while others would be hostile such as falcons. [link] [comments] |
Chandeliers! (Concept picture included) Posted: 17 Feb 2019 11:32 AM PST Have you ever wanted your rooms to be brighter, warmer, more comfortable and more luxurious? Well, this type of decoration block and light source can do just that! This should have 4 variants: (this is the link to see concept https://imgur.com/a/oxLYUMC)
This is the main chandelier variant and it is crafted with: 3 torches and 2 iron ingots.
This is definitely the cheapest of all chandeliers. It is crafted with 3 torches and 2 sticks.
This chandelier is prismarine-themed and is brighter than a regular Sea Lantern. It is crafted with 3 sea lanterns, a prismarine crystal and a prismarine shard. This also works good for an underwater home/room.
Believe it or not, this is the priciest chandelier of all! It is made with 3 torches and 2 end rods with the same formation as the 3 other chandelier variants. I hope you liked this. If you have more variant suggestions, tell in the comment section below. Thanks for reading this! [link] [comments] |
New Option for Biome Generation Mode Posted: 17 Feb 2019 03:38 PM PST Biome generation in mc has always been a little funky, and I think a new mode of world-generation would be something a lot of players would appreciate. Basically, when creating a new world, players would have the option to select this mode, and it would create a border on two sides of the world in the north and south directions. Halfway between these borders would be an invisible equator that could be located using the F3 screen. Warm biomes (Desert, Savannah, Mesa, Jungle, Mushroom Island, and Warm Ocean) would only be able to generate within a horizontal strip, with the equator in the middle of it. To the north and south of this strip would be two identical strips of half the size, where medium biomes (Swamp, Roofed Forest, Plains, Oak Forest, Birch Forest, and Lukewarm Ocean) could generate. And finally, to the north and south of these strips would be two more strips running from the medium biomes to the borders, where cold biomes (Various Taigas, Ice Plains, Ice Spikes, and Frozen Ocean) could generate. Effectively, this mode would have characteristics of an irl globe, while still staying faithful to the flat minecraft style. The east and west directions would still stretch all the way to the far lands. There would of course be some biomes that could generate in any strip, like mountains. Normal beaches and rivers could generate in the warm and medium strips, but the cold would have exclusively frozen variants. Oceans in the warm and cold strips would not be covered completely in coral reefs/icebergs; instead these would be spread out sporadically. There's probably some more details I'm forgetting about. If this mode became more popular than the default, perhaps it could just become the default. This would make implementing new long-wanted features like Seasons a lot more simple. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Feb 2019 11:51 AM PST Link to Minecraft feedback post Reindeer Basics: Reindeer would be tamable, ride-able mobs that would spawn in the tundra and ice spikes biomes. They could be tamed with pine nuts (see below) and ridden with a saddle. Reindeer would be as fast as an average horse, but would not slip on ice, making them very useful for exploration in colder biomes. Reindeer Attacks: Wild and tamed reindeer would have a charge attack which would deal little damage but significant knockback. When riding a tamed reindeer, the player could click the control (ctrl) button to make the reindeer charge, dealing 4 points of damage (2 hearts) and four blocks of knockback to the target. This attack would have a five second cool-down after each use. Wild reindeer would also do this to mobs that attack them. Reindeer Stats:
Reindeer Bonus?: (This part is mostly a joke, but might be balanced enough to be taken seriously) Every reindeer would have a 0.25% chance to spawn as a red-nosed reindeer. Red-nosed reindeer could be fed magic feed, a new item which would be crafted with the following pattern: (P = Pine nuts, N = Nether star, B = Bowl, G = Golden apple, X = Nothing) P G P P N P X B X Feeding a red-nosed reindeer magic feed would turn it into a flying reindeer; this would be indicated by white, sparkling particles emanating from the reindeer's antlers. The controls for flying a red-nosed reindeer would be as follows: Double tap space to take off from the ground, hold space to go higher, hold caps lock to go lower, and tap shift to dismount. Feeding a normal reindeer magic feed would only give it the effects Speed I, Jump Boost II, and Strength I for the normal amount of time for each individual effect. Riding on a flying red-nosed reindeer would unlock the advancement "Dash Away All!" Pine Nuts: Pine nuts would be like apples but would fall from spruce leaves. Raw pine nuts could be eaten to regain 3 points of hunger (1 1/2 hunger bars), but they could also be cooked to make roasted pine nuts which would regain 5 points of hunger (2 1/2 hunger bars). Llamas shouldn't spin at each other. Posted: 17 Feb 2019 10:53 AM PST Currently, if a llama unluckily spit at an another llama, they attack each other. But I do not think it should work that way. [link] [comments] |
Animals can be either male or female, and can display this through differences Posted: 17 Feb 2019 12:14 PM PST This idea will allow for more challenge in terms of breeding, and also add variety in terms of preserving animals and farming them. Examples of how this could work below: Cow mob: Male will be a Bull, and produce more meat and leather. It can't produce milk. It'll be more aggressive, and charge at the player if it provokes it. Another cool touch could be that it'll charge automatically if the player has a red banner or shield out. Female will be a Cow, and produce milk. Chicken mob: Male is a rooster, and cannot lay eggs, but will be aggressive when attacked. Female is a chicken and can lay eggs. They could also follow the rooster around, assuming it's an alpha. Sheep mob: Males will be rams, and they can also charge at you if provoked similar to Bulls. They could also attack each other occasionally. Females will be the same as before. They could also display differences through size, maybe make the males larger than the females and, in general, just more aggressive. This might be a problem with other animal mobs where the only obvious difference genitalia, but they could find a way. What do you think? [link] [comments] |
4 Brewing Recipes for Potionless Effects! Posted: 17 Feb 2019 04:17 PM PST Yes, there have been suggestions like this months ago. Nausea, blindness, glowing, and dolphin's grace are 4 of the 14 effects that do not have potions. Nausea, blindness, and glowing could obviously be used as splash potions to get advantages over your foes. Dolphin's Grace is a fun and useful effect to have in the ocean. RecipesOptional Ingredients (OI) = Redstone (+ Time), Gunpowder (Splash Potion), & Glowstone (+ Effectiveness) NW = Netherwart Nausea: NW → Fermented Spider Eye → Pufferfish → OI This is a weakness potion + a pufferfish, something that gives you nausea in game. Glowing: NW → Sea Pickle → OI Sea pickles emit light, so brewing a potion with one should make you bright. This also gives sea pickles a use. Blindness: NW → Fermented Spider Eye → Golden Carrot → OI This is a weakness potion + what gives you a night vision potion. Vision weakness is pretty much blindness, making this a logical recipe. Dolphin's Grace: NW → Sugar → Any Fish → OI This is a speed potion + something water related, and I think that's as close as we can get to an effect that makes you faster in water. Light Logging - Idea for future of Minecraft. Posted: 17 Feb 2019 12:03 AM PST Basically you would drop a piece of glowstone on any block you want and then it will start glowing the enchantment glow. Then if you drop a dye on top of it, then it will start to Glow that color. If s user had more glowstone the light level will increase by 1. It starts with a .1 light level. If user drops more of the color dye, the light will glow more of that color. How this could work would be having a block that renders its color 50% transparent. Than when a user drops the glowstone on a block will drop the enchantment glow or this block inside the block as a layer, like waterlogging in bedrock does. This method would be wise as then you'd only need 17 different colors and then you'd have an infinite world of colors in their world that would still resemble the same block. It would also work on anvils, ladders, carpet and other models this way without utilizing a lot of resources to make it happen. also with this method, you could mix dyes together like armor and have different colors to while still displaying the same block because you are basically just overlaying a background layer. Baby instead of 50% opacity, it should be 25%. You guys discuss. Also, this would bring colored lighting into the game for once as well. EDIT: It doesn't need to be exactly drop a dye and glowstone to work, I was just thinking this method of making it would be easier on the devs if they decided to try this. It's a lot easier to make a procedure than a guide and block. But up to you all, I just want an infinite colorable and light block as we lack lights. This would even work on light blocks themselves. New illager idea---Nethermancer Posted: 17 Feb 2019 01:01 AM PST The nethermancer is a new mob that will spawn in the Nether in his new fancy structure---the Tower of Undead. mobs that guard this tower won't despawn, like the illagers in woodland mansions. this tower of his will has 2 floors, each with its own challenges. The first floor would be fairly easy, there will be 1-3 pillagers accompanied by 2-4 wither skeletons, there will be no chests in this floor. In the second floor, the Nethermancer himself will be waiting for you, he is basically the Nether variant of the evoker, and he has a lot of tricks up his sleeves:
When he is killed, he will drop a totem of undead, when holding the totem, all undead and Nether mobs will leave you alone. [link] [comments] |
