Tamed Cats attack Phantoms if they fail to exit their range

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 08:21 AM PDT

What I noticed is that Cats bring gifts to you every night, and one of them seems to be a phantom membrane. It'd be neat if cats would leap and attack phantoms if they fail to get out of range in time.

High level villagers offer you more daily trades

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 07:23 AM PDT

This post is about new villager mechanics from.the latest snapshot.

Untouched villagers remain as they are, they offer you two trades daily but when you level them up you can start trading them more times a day, one level being equal to two more daily trades but same as xp each level would be higher to reach what will give players a need to protect their highest level villagers.

The expert level should be "infinite" being able to trade villagers to a point when you can trade with them for a day a still not getting them empty or leveling them up.

Cats should use the same jumping mechanics as foxes to reach the player and not take fall damage.

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:29 AM PDT

    How cats are now

With the new skins added for all the cats and working on their mechanics a bit they should also work on their movement. Right now in the game cats are very bland and have no interesting aspects (other than morning time gifts)

    How cats should be

I have a cat and almost everyone knows that cats are very agile, they can reach almost every shelf they want to and climb all over the house. In game they should be able to jump around and reach anywhere they want as they walk around. Also to solve the issue of fall damage, they should never take fall damage like iron golems to fit how irl cats never land on their back.

Edit: cats already don't take fall damage.

[Meta] The feedback site login problem may have been solved... (Apologies if this post doesn’t count as a meta)

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 10:17 AM PDT

Not sure if this post needed to be called Meta but anyway, in case you haven't heard, Nova Barlow has provided us with some good news to do with the feedback site...

    From Nova Barlow on Twitter

I don't want to jinx this but it looks like we've sorted the login issue that's been plaguing some folks on the (link: http://feedback.minecraft.net) feedback.minecraft.net site. I can't wait to see all those great ideas! :)

This is good news I'm sure, again apologies though if this should've been labelled something other than Meta.

Attrition: adding extra challenge to Minecraft

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 12:55 PM PDT

I would like to propose a new gamerule for Minecraft called Attrition. Each time you die in a Survival world with /attrition set to True, your Max Health would decrease by 2. So - after dying once, you would respawn with 9 hearts, then 8, then 7, and so on until you die for the tenth time, at which point you have to delete your world, just like in Hardcore. (For even more of a challenge, you could also play with /naturalregeneration set to False!)

The goal of this idea is to provide a style of play that caters to players like myself who want the constant danger of Hardcore, but in a world they can aspire to keep long-term, as with normal Survival. Right now it is impossible to get the best of both worlds: anyone can die to a glitch or accident in Hardcore and lose everything, while Survival hardly punishes you at all for death.

This idea was originally posted to the Minecraft Feedback website, and you are more than welcome to support it there, too.

    Iron golems

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 01:28 PM PDT

Iron golems have a pure grey iron skin(iron block style), they get vines, frost/snow, dirt ecc details on based on the biome they're on after a bit of time, and there are different versions for every skin so that there is differentiation. Also when they get damaged by mobs, depending on which mob, they can get different scars that add permanently to their skin. And healing them with iron blocks(I know everybody says it but I'm a supporter of the idea so I say it too).

The player could shiver in cold biomes and in deserts at night

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 05:54 AM PDT

It just adds a little immersion. The player shakes a little in cold biomes and during the night in deserts. In deserts during the day and hot biomes however, the player needs water and takes a little damage every few ticks, but cannot die from cold or heat unless the game is on Normal difficulty. The mining animation could be slower when the player is overheating, and the game could have a very mild nausea effect.

Overheating can be eliminated by water and water bottles.

Freezing can be eliminated by leather armour.

If you die from hypothermia, the game will say that you froze to death. If its from too much heat, the game will say that you died from heatstroke.

A new Shield And Trident Combat Mechanic: The Phalanx

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 07:16 PM PDT

The Phalanx would be an exclusive Combat Mechanic specifically for Shields and Tridents. To activate, you must hold your Trident and Shield, and then double-tap Shift. This makes it so you hold your Shield in Blocking Formation but hold your Trident out to poke any Monsters that dare Attack you, but puts you at between Walking Speed and Shifting Speed.

This would make it so you Block any Attacks while also dealing damage to anybody who tries to attack you with Melee.

You can also jab with your Trident to attack while not having a mob hit your Shield.

One could argue that everybody would just do this and it would become WAYYYY too overpowered. I came up with a counter to that.

If any Monster or Player hits you 3 Times, your Shield will be disabled for 60 Seconds so you don't just go back into Phalanx Position, and you would have to fight as normal.

I believe this should be added because right now, the Combat is not very good. This could possibly improve Combat and have Tridents more used in the PVP Community.

Now what do you think? Should this be added? How can it be improved? Questions or concerns? Please let me know in the comments!

    Villager Memorium

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 03:30 AM PDT

Presumably most people will nametag their favorite villagers/the ones with the best deals, to make life easier with trading. However with the new raid mechanic and pillager scouting parties, I can imagine a lot more of these nametagged villagers will be wiped out with no trace.

My suggestion is the Villager Memorium, that will be dropped upon the death of a nametagged villager. It will be a placeble item modelled off the totem of undying, but with a cobblestone texture and emerald eyes, about one block tall. It will display the name you gave the villager above it similar to a treasure map when looked at.

Initially I thought it should have no effect on the item and be purley decorative, but maybe a mechanic similar to the villager hero, where if you click on the totem with a poppy, villagers of the same profession as the totem give a slightly discounted rate on trades for a minute or two?

    Any thoughts?

Introducing a better Arrow-Shooter: The Ballista.

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 07:02 PM PDT

For those who don't know, a Ballista was an Ancient Greek Missile Weapon to launch large projectiles up to 500 Yards away! These would be extremely good for Combat in Minecraft, at least if they didn't shoot up to 457 Blocks away.

A Ballista would be crafted with a Slab, Two Fences, a Tripwire Hook, and 2 String. This would sorta be like a Turret; It would be an entity like an Armor Stand that you have to place down.

The Ballista could be loaded with 3 Things: Arrows and Tipped Arrows, Tridents, and Fireworks. They would shoot these projectiles up to 100 Blocks away.

The Ballista would also make the Projectile shoot with more power, increasing the Damage it does! This could make for some interesting defenses.

There would be no Enchantments for this Defense. I see it more as a defensive measure rather than something to be actively used in PVP.

Now what do you think? Should this be added? How can it be improved? Questions or Concerns? Please let me know in the comments down below!

(JAVA EDITION) Enable higher FOVs than 110

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 04:43 PM PDT

(I'm not sure if Bedrock Edition has the same problem, so I am marking this as a Java Edition suggestion.

Some folks, like myself, are "crazy" enough to want FOVs higher than 110 (or "Quake Pro" as it's called ingame).

It is technically already possible to do this by screwing around in the options.txt file in the .minecraft folder. However, I think it should be added into the menu itself, saving players the time to exit the game and modify the file. Also, modifying the options.txt file isn't that precise. Each 10th decimal place goes up by 4 degrees; FOV 1.3 corresponds to 122 ingame, 1.2 corresponds to 118 ingame, 1.1 corresponds to 114 in the game, etc (both ways).

The upper FOV limit should be 179.

    New villager profession: The apothecary

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 12:01 PM PDT

The apothecary is a new villager profession that uses herbs and other medicine to heal wounded villagers. They will restore damage taken from villagers if they are injured from a raid or other cause. They can trade different kinds of flowers and monster drops at lower level trades, but can trade a totem of undying at level 5. Their building looks like a wooden hut with vines covering the entrance. Inside is a fence with a slab on it, a filled cauldron, a barrel with food items and certain flowers, some pots with flowers on them, and a brewing stand. They are the rarest kind of villager, with a spawn rate of 2%.

    New hoe enchantment idea

    Posted: 15 Mar 2019 11:47 AM PDT

the enchantment would be called "healing" or something similar to that, and when you right click on a passive mob or player with a hoe enchanted with "healing" it would heal them 1 point (half a heart) and use up some of it's durability.. It would go up to Healing III, which would heal 1.5 hearts. I think this would be a good addition to Minecraft because it would make hoes much more useful as you could easily heal your teammates, farm animals, villagers, dogs, or other creatures in a pinch.

The Flail: A new, unique weapon.

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 08:27 PM PDT

I absolutely love how the Trident in unique in the sense that it can be used in Melee AND be thrown. One thing that's cool about them is Riptide, and how you have to charge them up and you can hit a mob and deal damage. Lets put this idea to use!

Before we get into this, why a Flail anyways? Well, not only is it medieval and would have a sorta unique way of attacking, but it would be the first Melee Weapon without a Cooldown time! That said, you still have to charge it up like a bow.

    Mechanics and Damage Output

Attacking with a Flail is easy. Just charge up similarly to a bow and then let go. The difference here is that it is melee, so you would charge up to deal damage to a mob that's only about as far as a Diamond Sword can hit.

Now let's talk Damage. At full charge, this does a whopping 6 Hearts of damage! This will also deal 5 blocks of Knockback

    Crafting and Durability

To craft this, you need a Stick, an Iron Ingot, a String, and a Block Of Iron, like a Fishing Rod.

The Flail would have 350 Durability and have the ability to have Unbreaking and Mending

    Enchantments

The Flail would have it's own Enchantments and would not be able to have any Sword/Trident/Bow/Crossbow Enchantments. Here is a list of some of the Enchantments this would have!

Stun - You have a 10% Chance to stun the mob you hit for 3 Seconds. This is increased by 10% each level, and this Enchantment has 3 Levels

Spike Shot - When the Flail hits a mob, a Spike will shoot out, hitting the mob and passing through to hit another mob.

Power Swing - You have a 25% Chance to do 50% more damage. This is increased to 50% and 75% at Level 2.

Shield Smash - You have a 20% Chance of disabling a Shield for 5 Seconds. This is improved to 40% and 10 Seconds at Level 2.

    TL;DR...

    A new, unique Melee Weapon.

Now what do you think? What I want to know today is how do you think Combat can be improved? That is it from me, and I shall see you next time!

A potion effect that pauses other effects. "Stasis"

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 05:48 PM PDT

First of all, I just posted it to the feedback site, so what's thrown here is also on the site. https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360042888072-New-effect-that-pauses-other-effects-Stasis-

Essentially, the effect could be useful for freezing other effects until it runs out. For example, if I had fire resistance for 3 minutes and used stasis for 10 seconds, it would pause the timer on fire resistance until the stasis were gone. I think it should be kept to short timings if it were able to be brewed, since it could be extremely useful in scenarios (like the regeneration after eating a notch apple, for example). I think it could also be useful for locking your effects, preventing new effects from being inflicted onto the player. For example, you could drink it right before you're going to be struck by an elder guardian to prevent the mining fatigue from being inflicted, or drink it before fighting a wither skeleton so you can avoid the wither effect. As a downside, it could also prevent you from gaining any effects from potions, but it could likewise be applicable for things such as throwing a lingering potion of harming so that it doesn't hurt you, or make it a bit safer to collect dragon's breath.

I think it might be interesting for a potion effect. That said, I hope this brought to light a very good idea, as for how to obtain it I think someone else might have a better idea. The best I could come up with is something like using a cobweb in the brewing stand (since those are sticky, and slow you down, lol) on an awkward potion. The functionality of it that prevents other effects from being inflicted could also be locked to level II of the potion by using glowstone, but as a downside it couldn't be extended. I expect the upside to it (like using level I to just get the extending effect) would come at the cost of also extending things like poison or weakness by accident. Perhaps witches could use the effect before throwing weakness or poison as well.

Suggestion for icon would be an icon of a potion with a pause symbol next to it.

Wanted to share it here to get more discussion going on it (I'm more of a reddit guy when it comes to forums lol). I based the concept on Xenoblade Chronicles X, since there was a buff that did something very similar called Effect Stasis.

    Villager hats.

    Posted: 14 Mar 2019 05:45 PM PDT

The villagers look cool, but I think it would be cool to be able to wear the hats they wear, when they die they could drop what they were wearing, like the straw hats and leaf headbands and stuff, I think it could be cool.

E: Since some people don't like the idea of killing them, maybe they could sell their hats, they would only ever sell one, and if you were to buy it they wouldn't have a hat since they gave it to you.
