You should be able to type in chat on death

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 01:04 AM PDT

Don't you hate it when you are typing a long command/text but then someone suddenly comes and kills you so you have to type the whole thing again?

So I think that if you are typing something and die, you should be able to continue typing

A way to stop writing in chat and continue

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 10:38 AM PDT

Sometimes you are writing in the chat something long, and suddenly a danger appears so you need to stop and then it's or to send the unfinished text or to press esc and after you finish the monster spawned, write all the long text again. (Or to add my suggestion which says you will also press TAB to stop, the written text will be shown for you in the left side of the screen and as you finish the thing stopped you from writing just press your text button and continue from the spot you were.

Givw Golems a {Hostile:1b} NBT Tag

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 10:11 AM PDT

Iron Golems are a very lovely mob for Map Creation. They're big, scary, lumbering creatures. I personally have one as the last boss of an Adventure Map i've been working on. And i've been working on a Minigame that revolves around raiding Villages (being on the other end of a Raid, essentially). I've learned that Iron Golems are a fickle thing to work with. They're super cool, but at the end of the day they're friendly to the player unless the player harms them. That limits what you can do with them. So my suggestion to you is to add an NBT tag that causes them to attack players (And villagers that aren't on the same Team as the golem) on sight. This would let all of us use Iron Golems and Snow Golems as hostile creatures for our Custom Maps!

Think of all of the things you could do with that! Invisible Snow Golem turrets! Iron Golem bosses! Hostile Villages!

EDIT: Title is supposed to say "Give Golems a {Hostile:1b} NBT Tag"

    Spider Lairs

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 06:58 AM PDT

Spider Lairs would be exciting for the Cave Update!!! Spider Lairs are very rare to find. Spider Lairs would have lots of spiders and cave spiders including a Queen Spider. In each Spider Lair, there is a Queen Spider at the end of the Lair. The Queen Spider is a boss mob and is very hostile to players. They will lay quick hatching spider eggs that will hatch into angry fast baby spiders. Queen Spiders have about 100 (x50) hearts of health. They will drop 100 XP when killed by a player or tamed wolf. They will also drop 3-5 string and 3-5 spider eyes and 8 spider legs (Also dropped by other spider mobs). Spider legs can be used for brewing a new potion called... The Potion of Climbing. The Potion of Climbing will give you the Climbing Effect when drunk. The Climbing Effect allows you to climb walls anywhere just like spiders!!!

    /gravity command

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 04:19 AM PDT

This command controls the gravity in Minecraft.

    How it goes:

    /gravity strength int, invert true:false, gravFrom ~ ~ ~ gravTo ~ ~ ~

The invert, gravFrom and gravTo are all optional.

To set gravity, for example to a Mars like level:

    /gravity 0.5

This halves the gravity of the world, and since Mars is half the size of Earth, the gravity is 0.5 there.

You can use this command to reverse the gravity on your own world and create some weirdness.

To prevent griefing by gravity, set a command block (repeating) down and put in this gravity code:

    /gravity 1.0

This will set the gravity to normal.

By using invert, you can make an antigravity world or designate an area to be antigravity so you can trap players in an endless up and down cycle if you want.

Affects particles as well since they obey gravity.

    Command overview:

Strength: how strong or weak to change gravity to.

Invert: Optional. Whether to reverse gravity or not.

GravFrom: Optional. Specifies what coordinate for gravity to begin from in xyz coordinate.

GravTo: Optional. Specifies what coordinate for gravity to end to in xyz coordinate.

Nether Crystals - Respawn in the Nether (Pictures Included!)

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 11:20 AM PDT

    Pictures never hurt.

    Introduction

As part of the big cave & Nether update I've been throwing around ideas for, I wanted something interesting for the Nether, something we didn't see much of before. I looked towards the End crystals, and built this idea for Nether ones.

    About the Crystals

The Nether Crystals spawn atop rare, thin spires of Nether brick, looking out towards the lava oceans on the edges of land. They are bright orange with glowing yellow symbols, and pieces of gold float around them.

Like the End crystals, they explode when damaged, so protect them from the various Nether mobs that will actively seek to kill them. Unlike the End crystals, they do not heal or respawn the Ender Dragon, but they have a similar use for you...

    Linking

The main use of these crystals is to be linked to. When you die in the Nether, you have the option to respawn at the linked crystal, or to respawn in your bed in the Overworld.

The Nether crystal will usually try to spawn you on the lowest possible land, and when you do respawn, you will be given Fire Resistance for 5 seconds, just to get you out of any nasty trouble.

For multiplayer, these crystals can link to multiple players at a time.

    Downsides

When you've decided to respawn at the crystal, you become unlinked, and cannot link to any crystal for the next 5 minutes. Also, these crystals become utterly useless in Hardcore mode.

If in a different dimension, you cannot choose to respawn at a linked crystal, but returning to the Nether will keep you linked.

As mentioned earlier, Nether mobs will try to destroy these crystals. Since they are not renewable, it's recommended you guard any that you find.

    Conclusion

A quick waypoint-styled addition to the game that allows you to quickly jump back in to gather the items you lost in the Nether. Be sure to upvote the Feedback Website post for this, linked right here - (Woopsie! This link will be added once the post has been approved :3)

As always, thanks for reading, and goodbye! :D

Tasteful Flooding: A New Mechanic for Water Source-Block Creation, Without Breaking the Game.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 04:11 PM PDT

An unfortunate limitation of the water in minecraft is that it cannot actually flood an area. If it was made to haphazardly, it would undoubtedly be game breaking.

As a compromise, I have two ideas for how this COULD work: 1. a different functionality for water in ocean biomes, under the ocean y level. 2. A new "Floodwater" water source block, similar to how we have "cave air."

    1. In the case of this option, water in an ocean biome, below the ocean surface level (typically y62?), would simply create new water source blocks in a different way to water elsewhere in the world.
    2. Alternatively, a new kind of water block would also work. "Floodwater" would naturally generate in ocean and river biomes. They would function just like normal water, except that they would turn water source blocks below, and horizontally adjacent into more floodwater, and they would create new source blocks differently (although they would also create source blocks in the same way as normal water). A water bucket filled using this kind of water, will be no different from a normal water bucket, meaning you cannot place floodwater in the sky and accidentally flood your entire world.

As for the new way source blocks are created:

    - When the source block in question beings to flow under either of the above options, it will check whether there are 2 source blocks above, or horizontally adjacent. If there is only 1, then it will check to see if that source block is connected to another in the same way. In other words, three connected source blocks is required. If this is the case, then the flowing water directly next to its source block will become a new source block.

With this, if a player digs through a ceiling or wall, and hits ocean, the ocean will pour in by creating new source blocks, and flood the cave/structure.

    Slime swords

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 08:04 AM PDT

It would be great if Minecraft adds swords that could knockback you without the enchantment. But because you only need two slime blocks and a stick to craft it, make it harmless and have 100 durability.

Smithing Table should be able to be used for progressive and less expensive crafting

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 03:23 PM PDT

With a smithing table, you should be able to use lower tiered gear to "progressively craft" your way up to higher tier gear.

For example, in order to create a Diamond Chestplate normally, you need 8 diamonds.

With a smithing table, you can craft a Diamond Chestplate with a cheaper recipe, 1 Iron Chestplate and 6 diamonds.

This can be done with other tiers, like chainmail/gold to iron.

Please better modularize mob ai for map makers

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 02:57 AM PDT

It kind of sucks being limited in the ways we can use mobs when making maps.

There are a variety of weapons and armors for us to choose for players, and we can make use of the scoreboard team feature for players, but when it comes to mobs such features are very limited in functionality.

In a future update, could all mobs get support for scoreboard teams, the way it affects shulkers in 1.8?

Also, could we get support for different types of weapons to be used by different types of armed mobs (i.e. skeletons with crossbows, pillagers with swords, etc)?

Those features would be nice to have for mapmakers, since they allow mapmakers to make more varied and interesting NPCs for maps.

    Ants and ant colonies.

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 10:53 AM PDT

I always felt that Minecraft needed more insects than just the spider and silverfish, so that's why I propose ants.

    THE ANTS

Ants are cave spider sized bugs that come in three variants: black, red, and zombie. Black ants only attack players that get within 25 cubic meters of their nest, attack them, or are holding "sweet" items such as apples, flowers, and sugar. Black ants eat berry bushes, sugarcane, and flowers. They spawn in biomes such as the plains, forest, and birch forest at all times of day, provided there is an active nest (the queen is alive) within five blocks. Black ants have 5 hearts of health and deal one heart with each attack. These attacks have a 10% chance of inflicting poison for 5 seconds. If black ants are near their nest when provoked, they will swarm the player. They drop sugar and give 5 xp when killed.

Red ants are hostile mobs that have the same health as black ants and deal the same damage as them. The difference is that instead of having a chance to inflict poison, they have a 5% chance to set the player on fire. Like black ants, they can swarm the player. Unlike black ants, they can do this anywhere. Red ants spawn in swamp, jungle, and savanna biomes and their variants at all times of day provided there is an active nest within 5 blocks. Red ants eat leaves and chickens. Red ants drop exoskeleton shards (which can be used as an alternative to flint) and 7 xp.

Zombie ants are also hostile mobs, but they have half the health of other ant variants and deal twice the damage. Zombie ants cannot inflict any effects or light the player on fire. Zombie ants spawn in any biome at night and do not form nests. They burn in the sun and attack other ants. Zombie ants drop nothing and give 6 xp when killed.

    THE QUEEN

The queen ant is a bosslike mob that spawns in all ant nests. She is a hostile mob with 40 health and very powerful jaws that can kill an unarmored player in 2 hits. She will summon ants to help her during the fight. When killed, she drops an exoskeleton plate (can be used to upgrade your shield) and has a very small chance of dropping a damaged elytra. She gives off 15 xp when killed.

    THE LARVAE

Ant larvae are small mobs about the size of silverfish that give off nothing when killed. They just add to the experience of the ant colony.

    THE COLONY

The ant colony is an underground generated structure. The only way to enter from above ground is to break the ant hill. Once inside, you will be met by swarming ants trying to defend their home. The interior of the colony is made entirely of dirt. The colony contains many rooms connected by a tunnel system.

The central room is where the queen is located. As well as a chance to get an elytra, this room also contains loot. Enchanted golden apples can be found in this room.

The larval room is filled with larvae. No loot can be found here.

The feed room is where the ants store their food. Here, you can find apples, golden apples, raw chicken, berries, watermelons, and feathers.

The lobby is where you will most likely enter, as the mound is right on top of this room. It usually contains iron and gold nuggets, since it is where ants put their non-edible finds.

    Autosaving Suggestion

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 10:50 AM PDT

Please let us turn off autosaving on the console versions! I have so many chests that it takes forever and it causes rubberbanding, lag, and just plain unplayability. I love playing on my switch with my friends because of mobility and this causes me so much pain.

The Lonely Miner NPC and Minotaur Mob - an abandoned mineshaft update

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 09:34 AM PDT

The Lonely Miner is an NPC that can be found within abandoned mineshafts. This character left their village to go mining for diamonds, but was never to be seen again.

The player, can come across the Lonely Miner while exploring that abandoned mineshaft. They will shy away at first, so the player will need to offer them mushroom soup, bread and/or water. Seeing they are tired and dirty, you know they've been down here for a long long time. Once you have gained their trust they will follow you as you lead them to the surface. However, an increased amount of mobs will spawn around you. Be careful, this character can only take damage of up to 3 creeper blasts and they move slower than the player because they're tired, as well as being too weak to fight back, so you must protect them at all costs! Activating the Lonely Miner quest will cause a Minotaur boss to spawn in this abandoned mineshaft. The Minotaur can attack the player as well as the Lonely Miner.

It is very difficult to dig out of this mineshaft due to the blocks being infested by Silverfish and there being lots of lava pools above you, and gravel! Oh, and the Minotaur will always be on your back so you have to take them out first, as they give off a mining fatigue effect.

Once you have reached the surface, whether that be by exiting through a cave system or by digging out, now the NPC will offer you a compass leading to the nearest village. Upon reuniting the Lonely Miner with its village, its inhabitants will offer you a vast amount of food as thanks for finding their friend, reduced requirements for trade, oh and the Lonely Miner will give you some of the stuff they found over the time they spent alone down there - who knows what treasures they behold! Eventually they turn into a regular villager or take a blacksmith role, but village reward perks here still remain the same.

The chances of finding the Lonely Miner should be very low, like finding a Stronghold without Eyes of Ender, and that's why its so rewarding. It could be easier for the player if the designated village they need to be returned to has a mine shack structure close by it that leads to the mineshaft the NPC is in. Or perhaps Desert or Jungle Temples have a rare chance in being the entrance to such a labyrinth that is the abandoned mineshaft.

Thank you for reading and I'd love to hear thoughts and anything else you'd like to add on here. This could branch out a lot to become more, especially with the Minotaur where I didn't come up with much.

    Tamable Birds of Prey

    Posted: 22 Apr 2019 06:56 PM PDT

It's been a while since a truly useful tamable mob has been added to the game. With the addition of Phantoms in the last update, I think the idea of tamable birds of prey would level the playing field quite a lot. I imagine that this could have been suggested before, but I haven't seen this myself. Anyway, here are my ideas on how it would work:

    The Basics:

You would need a few new items to tame a bird of prey. Usually, they would fly about 20-30 blocks above ground level (I'm not sure how the game would calculate this, but I imagine each chunk could have an average ground level value that 20-30 is added onto for the spawn conditions). Upon death, they would drop 1-3 feathers and Talons, which could be used in brewing, I haven't thought how yet. Usually, they will attack nearby mobs and the player if they are aggressive towars it. To tame them, you would need an item called the Falconer's Glove.

Crafted with one piece of meat in the top middle, three leather in the middle and two leather with one gold in between on the bottom, it would have similar durability meter to a Carrot on a Stick. While this is equipped, upon a right click a bird of prey, if it is close enough, will try and feed from the Falconer's Glove. When this happens, the usual chance for a taming to occur would happen, with the usual heart particles when the taming is successful. Once tamed, they will retain their usual height but also follow the player and attack hostile mobs that the player attacks or is aggressed by. They would deal 5-7 points of damage but have a 10 second recovery between attacks. They can be healed and bred in the usual way with meat, and their chicks would behave the same way as regular chicks until they mature.

    There would be several variants of each bird for each biome, with their own special characteristics;

    Harpy Eagle (Jungles)

The Harpy Eagle would be a large, grey bird about 2x2x1 blocks in size. It would have 30 hit points. They would be able to fly through leaf blocks

    Jade Eagle (Deserts and Savannahs)

The Jade Eagle would be a similar size, with 25 hit points. It would have green feathers and blue eyes. It would be able to slowly regenerate health during the day

    Condor (Mountains and Taigas)

The Condor is the largest bird of prey on the list, bring 2x3x1 blocks in size. It would have 35 hit points and it would have a chance to attack every 5 seconds rather than 10. However it would attack the player upon detection rather than agression to balance this. It would be black with large yellow talons

Golden Eagle (forest and plains variants)

This, being the most common, would be a starter bird for most players. It would only have 20 hit points, and it would be brown with shades of grey. However, it would also be the easiest to tame

    Albatross (ocean and variants)

The Albatross would be the same size as most other birds, and it would be light grey with blue shades. It would have 25 hit points and could make attacks underwater

Let me know if there is anything I haven't thought out well or should add, and I hope you enjoy the suggestion 🙂

Falling from a great height makes the player unable to move for a few seconds and makes walking slower for 10 seconds.

Because of the pain from impact, it is damage after all. Water negates this.

Nerf afk fishing + revamp enchanting and end cities

    Posted: 22 Apr 2019 06:53 PM PDT

Afk fishing is stupid, and allows people to get high level enchantments 30 minutes after starting the game by simply leaving their computer on with an autoclicker or something. However, it is understandable as mending is stupidly annoying to get. Perhaps they could revamp end cities to be some sort of a challenge where you get a chance of being rewarded with mending, or some other enchantments.

Tldr: afk fishing removes the effort behind getting good enchants, and enchanting and the obtaining of mending books should be revamped as well

    Redstone pump

    Posted: 23 Apr 2019 03:01 AM PDT

Used to move water by redstone mechanics instead of using buckets. Can also be used on lava. If mud gets added, then it will also be useable on mud, (lava and mud are slower than water to pump).

This is basically a redstone pipe. Using a lever will flip the direction. Turn it on and off by using a button. Can be placed underwater.
