Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #75: Water Crisis Posted: 07 Jul 2019 05:00 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: MATRIXReminder that this is mainly a build challenge and not a general question thread! Lately, there have been many replies asking random questions about the game, not at all related to the challenge. And, to those who do talk about the challenge, please comment below my comment in the post. As always, we don't want to clutter up the comment section as that's for submissions. Thank you! GoldThe building style in this build was good but nothing spectacular. It was only a small house type room made from wood with some nice decorative things in it. However, the design of this build was amazing. Once you panned out and showed the "set" I absolutely loved how it all looked together. This build is a prime example of following through with an idea and not focusing on the small details. Because it didn't seem like you focused on getting all the details in the build or making the house look spectacular. But it still worked because of your really good set building. Awesome job! SilverNow this build is the opposite of first place (at least I found) where it went all out on details and building the buildings, rather than designing a set. And, while I do like the overall build, I did find that it was a little too complicated. A lot of things are happening and while I can pick out some things, it took some time for me to stare at the image before I found everything. That being said, all the buildings do look really good and there's a really good surreal element to the build that makes me keep wanting to go back and find more. However, all in all, I do find it to be slightly too much. Still a great build though! BronzeThis style of build seems to be popping up quite a bit now, with these white item frames and I'm personally a fan of these types of builds too. However, I do find that sometimes people overdo it. This build here, for this style of challenge seemed like the best to me. There were only some white splotches here and there to bring that "what's happening?" factor then it was a normal build. It may be simple, but as far as the theme went, it seemed to fit perfectly. Good job! Honourable mentions IntroductionWith the warm heat coming for some (and already here for others), drinking water to stay hydrated has become very important. But, it's sometimes a struggle to get that water! Today, we'll be focusing on ways to get water to the people in our minecraft world who live in these hot conditions. Whether these are aqueducts, collection bins or water purifiers, that's up to you! Stay hydrated! New Textures Since we have a semi-official release of the new textures, they are now allowed (along with the old ones). However, if you use the new textures, please specify. I wouldn't want to think you're using a texture pack and disqualify you. I'm not as used to the textures, so I may not recognize them right away. Inspiration ChallengeWater Crisis Build any sort of mechanism or structure related to water. However, these are structures designed to get water to people who may have difficulty (so not water mills or canals, etc). Some examples of these types of structures could be:
