Project Nebula is a community created by /u/Colinator007 and myself. We started our new map about two weeks ago and are excited with the community we've been building up! However, we'd like to be upfront and say that 1.14 performance is still not very good. We've done the best we can to optimize the server, like disabling intensive datapacks and running PaperMC to assist chunk loading. The reality is that 1.14 has greatly improved performance since launch, but is still running slower than a 1.13 server would! Just thought we'd be transparent about it :) We are constantly looking for ways to improve server performance! About Us Colin and I are college students looking to play with new people! We're both engineering students and love to fiddle with redstone and farms. But we also love building beautiful structures and planning a nice base, and just generally hanging out and relaxing with some games. We encourage all playstyles and love to see the creative ways you guys play this game! We have experience hosting multiple servers in the past, such as Colincraft and Nebula Network, and have joined/played on many servers, too. Our goal is to not only create an active Minecraft server, but an active community and group of friends as well. While our community has a solid base, we are always looking to expand our group and we'd love to get to know you! Our map is about 2 months old! :)) -This server uses quality-of-life datapacks, which are designed to aid the experience and efficiency of the game without altering the Vanilla feel. Examples include one-player sleep, logical uncrafting, and Ender Dragon dropping elytra. A full list of datapacks can be found here! To improve server performance we've had to disable some datapacks that seem to run a function every tick. This should be temporary and we hope to re-enable them as updates get more and more stable! We are also running the latest builds of Paper MC because it has better chunk loading and is generally more stable than Vanilla. No game-changing plugins are used, we just run it for the better performance. Full Vanilla experience! Minecraft 1.14 Creative -Flatworld for our community to test their builds and other creations. Apart from hacking, cheating, spamming, and the like... it's pretty much complete freedom to do whatever your little rat heart desires. Our 3 main features include: RANDOM SPAWN When you join for the first time you'll spawn in a random location in the world. This can be anywhere from +29,999,981 to -29,999,981 x/z. When you die you'll also respawn in another random location in the world, unless of course you've slept in a bed... so you should try and do that as soon as possible! NO COORDINATES The debug screen (F3) info is greatly reduced, and your XYZ coordiantes aren't displayed. Neither you nor anyone else knows where you are. You're also likely many millions of blocks away from the nearest player! RAT PORTALS To counteract these difficulties, we've got the incredible power of Rat Portals! Based off SnowGear's Color Portals, these nifty structures can be built by players and are used to connect one distant location to another. These are one of Ratcraft's most essential features! They're also the only feasible way to find friends or foes when starting out. We're trying to make a small, tight-knit group of friends. If you're familiar with Hermitcraft, that's the kind of vibe we're going for. It's a place with a high level of trust and friendship where you can build and chat together. People are always welcoming when you log in, and happy to help you out if you're new or work collaboratively with you on builds, as well as getting to know you on a personal level. Technical Details / About The Server: We try to keep things quite vanilla, but we do have some plugins and data packs, mostly quality-of-life improvements like one person sleep, anti enderman and creeper griefing, etc. Number of users: 20 unique users have logged into the server in the past 24 hours. At any given time, there is usually anywhere from 3 – 5 people online on average, and we peak out at about 10 concurrent players. We have users from both NA and EU so somebody is almost always on. The current world has been going since April. We plan to reset and start a new season once a stable version of 1.15 is available (likely October or later.) So you still have plenty of time to work on some big builds in the current world and make friendships for next season. So far, no one has asked me why it's called that, so I guess it's an alright name =D The server officially opened in mid-July and is thus about one month old now and has a small but slowly growing community. We all would love to have some more players on with us so stick around and see what we're all about! So, other than all the behind the scenes admin stuff, what are it's main features? The world has been pre-generated with custom biomes. Over 400 of them, actually (trust me, it's worth it). 1.14.4, we just updated this week and I will be keeping the server up to date as soon as I can in the future. Dynmap integration. Player Heads and mob heads. Double Shulker Shells Anti-Xray / Anti-cheating. Whitelisted. No creeper block grief (they still hurt you though!) and Endermen don't pick up blocks. One Player Sleep (Only 1 player needs to sleep to pass the night.) Dragon drops Elytra. We have a discord but, for me atleast, it is more of a text/photo/announcement sharing tool. But it's there for y'all! And lastly, we have 2 main town areas. 1 created by me and 1 created by one of our players (both are still under construction but have places available). The spawn town is at spawn and has grief-protected spots available for players, and the other doesn't but the plots are free. The aim of the server is to create a unique and chill community of about 20 to 50 players with the goal of having a daily average of 10-20. So far our server record is 9 consecutively on at the same time, last weekend, but we usually have 4-6 online on in the evenings. The server has a strong/main focus on Survival Multiplayer, of course, so go forth, find your place out in the world, and make a base. You can be as participatory in the community as you want or you can be a total recluse - it's up to you. I am more of a recluse, personally, but I enjoy being online and chatting with others. The modded biome generation goes out to a radius of 10,000 blocks but the World Border is at 20,000 blocks (40k diameter). This allows us to enjoy both styles of world generation without having to switch between bungeecord'ed worlds. If you would like me to teleport you to the Vanilla terrain generation, I can do that, otherwise you need to walk (nether highways have not been made yet). Rules: Be respectful of other players. No hateful messages, no harassing, no racism, etc. Respect the Spawn Area. No building too close to another player's base without getting permission from them, see Rule 1. No griefing. Report any grievances to me. Griefers will be immediately banned without exception. Non-destructive pranks are okay. No stealing. Report any grievances to me. No cheating. Don't ask the admin (me) for special privileges, items, or permissions. The server is still really small and people have lives. Understand that it's a long process and that it could be a while before it's common to see a bunch of people online. What happens during this events is all players will have blindness, nausea, and wither effect on them making PvP and getting around much more difficult and dangerous. It usually will happen for 30 seconds and there will be an in game warning "To the death" - Once per week all players will be teleported to 0 0 on the map to fight. During this event a powerful monster spawner will be activated to make the fighting a little more difficult. FAQ: "Why 1.12.2?" - Because most anarchy servers and hacked clients use this version and provides 1.12.2 in game mechanics.
