Players form their own nations, enforce their own rules, and are responsible for protecting what they've made. Playing as a hermit is an extra challenge compared to other Survival servers: Punch a tree? No, you need to get sticks from leaves, and make planks from sticks. Make stone tools? You need to get flint or bone to make primitive tools instead. Oh major buff recently: Stone will make wooden-equivalent tools now! OK I've got a primitive tool, why isn't this stone breaking? Primitive tools are junk, you need to hit it 1-10 times until it randomly breaks. Iron/Bronze/Steel/Diamond are better. Found some iron, why can't I smelt it? Uhh I could explain how to make Factories, but you'd probably better join a nation or trade some logs at this point. OK fine, let's make a boat and sail to a nation! No, you can't make a boat without several factories, but you can use /ott for a one-time teleport to join a group :) Benefits of a nation: Factories can make things quicker and cheaper than normal, and the basic ones aren't very expensive. A small group of players can afford the intermediate ones too. The guy who logged on to quickly gear up and go raiding can't do that; your new friends with an iron sword and leather armor can take him out. Easier to build and protect a secure vault, where PrisonPearl can store captured prisoners. Or if you get captured, being in a nation can help negotiate your release or free you in a war. Our gameplay is simple: do anything you like, as long as it's constructive. Absolutely everything is done in survival mode. No matter what you see, no matter how impressive it is, it was done is survival. There are no diamonds for voting, we don't even take donations, and admins can't spawn items. Our only real game changer is teleportation. We have /home, /back, /spawn and /tpa for example. Some people don't like these features, which is understandable, but we find that they help make the world feel more connected. If you plan on playing with friends you can add each other to your friends list using the /friend command. This will allow you to teleport to each other using the /tp command. Our current map was created in 1.13. For the 1.14 update we expanded eastwards, doubling the size of our map to 14,000 by 28,000 blocks. We like to keep our maps for a reasonable amount of time. For reference, our last map we had from March 2016 to July 2018. We are hoping to keep our current map until at least mid 2021. In any case, all old maps are available for download after a reset. We are a greylisted server. This means anyone can join and walk around, but are not able to modify the world until they have been removed from the greylist. To be removed is very simple: you just need to read the rules, type a command and wait for someone to remove you. There is no written application process. GamerGuys Server is a server I created for me and my son to play on, we are looking for friendly players or other families to play together. We have a mix of game modes and will probably add or change some of our servers depending on requests and use. Right now we have 4 servers and the Hub world is an SMP server in its own right. We have griefprevention, and a few basic mods but nothing major. Keep Inventory is turned on but I might turn it off for one of the survival worlds if people request it. Recently added a Pixelmon server :D The servers are running on a 3.33 Ghz dell r610 with SSDs and 150GB ram, connected to a 1Gbit/50Mbit connection so I expect it to run smoothly with many players, but will adjust the hardware as needed.
