Vikings from Denmark had just raided their first of many targets in England: the Monastery of Lindisfarne in Northumbria. A new age of violence and competition was dawning in Northern Europe. The idea of my server is simple. We provide a 4k map of Northern Europe, and players are free to create their own factions within it, as long as their factions have historical (8th or 9th Century) names and locations, or they may join an existing one. Players within each faction will contribute to their faction by building towns in a historical style, or fight with other faction over land rights. We use a plugin called SavageFactions. Factions are able to claim more land as their player-count grows! Faction leaders are able to rank up members in their factions and configure the permissions each rank gets. It's been quite fun and successful so far on Planet Minecraft, so I'd like to share it with reddit! There are seven types of factions in our server: English, Welsh, Scandinavian, Irish, Scottish, French and Slavic. All factions are expected to fall into one of these groups and start in the right region of our Northern Europe map. Players within the factions are also expected to have historically accurate nicknames set for themselves. Server IP: 54.39.70.37:25671 Rules: - No Building buildings in Stone, or above two stories. - Build houses in a Viking-esque style. Wooden halls with hay-block/dirt/wooden rooves. The most northern europeans did not build in stone in this period! I have loved Minecraft for a very long time and just recently I got 1.14.4 on PC. I love building, and have a lot of ideas in mind. My building tendencies tend to center around modern, futuristic, rustic, and organic builds. I understand adult-only server restrictions but I ask 16+ servers to consider giving me a chance. I can be mature beyond my years and really just want to be able to have fun on a good, friendly Minecraft server. I haven't done much redstone but I understand basic concepts. I love helping out with community builds as well so if you're looking for that I'll help too. I think that's it but please consider me, I'd really love to do this kind of thing. I am in high school, so commitment would be about 1-2 hours a day, weekends could be more. Anti-Enderman Griefing It's pretty self-explanatory... Enderman won't take the roof off your precious dirt hut. Player Heads Players also drop their heads upon death. Renewables Coral plants grow into coral structures when bonemealed, Guardians turn into Elder Guardian when struck by lightning, shulkers respawn in end cities, silverfish drop gravel, and only husks spawn in desert temples for some reason. Aaand a few other small tweaks to improve the multiplayer experience and cut down lag (we never implement anything mechanic breaking; farms and redstone will always be safe)!
