Compact Quartz, a storage block for Quartz. Posted: 22 Oct 2019 12:31 PM PDT Compact Quartz is crafted with 9 Quartz and can be crafted into 9 Quartz, effectively making it a storage block. Compact Quartz has a longer breaking time than quartz and a blast resistance of 30(instead of 4). This makes it a good material for building. Compact Quartz also has a nice texture. Here you go! Posted: 21 Oct 2019 08:06 PM PDT The scyth is an important tool in real life that not many people know the use for. Most people assume they are a made up weapon for harvesting souls. This is not true as scythes are super useful and have an assortment of uses. This would educate people on the real use of scythes and what they do. Here are my ideas: The scyth is crafted like a hoe but with three of the material. For example, the two sticks are placed on the far right and the three materials (wood, diamonds, etc.) are places on top. Essentially it looks like you are crafting a long hoe. The scyth is about as long as the trident and the blade is like the hoe but longer and curved. The durability is as follows: Wood - 100 Stone - 260 Gold - 32 Iron - 350 Diamond - 1200 The scyth does 5 damage upon hitting a mob however it does bonus damage to the undead. This is a reference to the grim reaper and his soul harvesting scyth. The scythe has 20% longer reach than other weapons due to it being so long. But what can it do? Harvesting plants: When the scyth is used on plants, it will harvest ONLY fully grown crops in a 3x3 region around the initially broken crop. It will not break crops that aren't yet fully grown. This makes it more useful compared to the hoe. This is at the cost of 1 durability. Cutting leaves: When a leaf block is broken, all leaves within a 3x3x3 region around that block are broken as well. This is at the cost of 1 durability. Cutting grass: The scyth cuts grass the same way it harvests crops. Souls Neutralising: Since the scyth is for "soul harvesting" it can break soul sand as fast as an iron shovel and when done so, sand is dropped. Essentially, the scyth can remove the souls from soul sand and turn it into regular sand. Here are compatible enchantments: Unbreaking - increases durability Mending - durability increases when EXP is gained Efficiency - The scyth breaks soul sand faster And one advancement: "Spooky!" - Hold a scyth and wear a pumpkin on your head This tool would be of great use and is fairly simple to implement and is educational. What do you think guys? Edit: I have heard that AOE tools have been rejected, so perhaps making it an enchantment for the scythe, also, *scythe Edit 2: Here is the feedback link: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360054721612-New-Tool-Scythe [link] [comments] |
Shulker Pad (Beacon Modification/Transport System)(With Pictures) Posted: 22 Oct 2019 11:28 AM PDT The Shulker Pad is a new craftable block used to modify your beacon. It will require two shulker shells, three endstone bricks, and an eye of ender. Picture here. In short, you slap this platform down on top of an active beacon (the beam must be unobstructed, transparent blocks are still fine however) and it allows you to travel up the beam using the levitation status effect. No particular size of pyramid base is necessary to achieve this effect, but the larger your beacon's pyramid, the longer the levitation status remains after exiting the beam. The sky is literally the limit, because, well, that's how high the beam goes. To clarify, this does not grant levitation to all players within range of the beacon. Addressing possible criticisms:
Vote on the Minecraft Feedback Site. Edit: I modeled the Shulker Pad with the Chisel & Bits mod. Credit where it's due. [link] [comments] |
Creepers' leg animations should function when they're in water. Posted: 22 Oct 2019 02:49 PM PDT Not a lot more to say. I've been building my house near a river & was struck by how dumb it looks when a Creeper just sort of... bobs toward you. [link] [comments] |
Flystins - A unique mob and block. Posted: 22 Oct 2019 02:03 PM PDT Flystins - A unique mob and block.
This could help with redstone but it is also meant to be a mob for a hilarious outcome to lighten the mood of the game and encourage players to build higher up in the sky and explore the end. It could be a new unique way to travel. [link] [comments] |
Slime blocks don’t stick to honey, but Slimes do? Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:14 PM PDT All I want are for the Slime mob to not get stuck on honey blocks, I mean, if slime blocks don't get stuck, why should they? 🤔 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Oct 2019 04:48 PM PDT The idea. The point of this suggestions is to take the bedrock's world option "old world type" and make something more of it, (and to add it to java). Basically what the old world type does is when generating, instead of being 30 million by 30 million, it's 256 by 256 (not including the Y axis). If you go to the edge of the world, there's nothing, you can't walk past it. Nothing generates beyond it. My idea, is to add an option (to both versions) that allows you to make a world like this, but it would be whatever size you want, with a limit of course. So you can play the game where you have to becareful because of limited resources. Why can't we use the border command instead? The main reason why is because you can still see terrain generate beyond the border, and I think that removes immersion/the whole design of it. In my opinion I really like not being able to see beyond the world's limit, really looks like I only have what's inside the world to play with. One final thing. If Mojang does see this and accepts it cool! if they deny it well I have another idea. The border command makes terrain Unload beyond the boarder. A tweak that would make terrain simply not load past world borders would work instead, if the world option idea isn't good. (Catergorized under "User Interface" because It talks about changing world sizes in the main menu, not sure what else to flair it as) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Oct 2019 12:30 PM PDT If a golem is near another golem and there are no mobs nearby, they will turn to each other and make noises. This is them communicating. Right clicking on them will make them do the villager head shake thing, and they have an inventory to pick up items a player drops on the ground next to them, such as flowers (you can see them offer them to villagers later, snow golems just hold onto them and drop them on death), totems of undying (uses the totem on death) and potions (they can drink them and gain the effects at random) [link] [comments] |

Fishermen Villagers Fish and Distribute Catch To Others As Farmers Do Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:14 PM PDT This is something that I feel should have been included with the Village and Pillage Update, considering that the villagers require a certain amount of food in order to breed. Fishermen should act similarly to farmers, collecting food and distributing them to other villagers. I feel that 6 is a good number of fish to satisfy villagers. [link] [comments] |
New Generated Structure: Abandoned Cellar Posted: 21 Oct 2019 08:11 PM PDT The world of Minecraft, despite its many updates bringing new life into the game, still feels pretty lonely. There are few signs of intelligent life before the player, besides villagers. The many dungeons that dot the world are good examples, sure, but I don't feel that they are necessarily relatable to the player. A great move towards removing this sense of loneliness would be to include other structures signaling that you, the player, are not the only of your kind out there. One potential structure could be an abandoned cellar! This could consist of a ruined ground floor, with a slightly better endured room beneath, with cobwebs in corners and vines hanging from the rotting floor above. Barrels could be stored here, along with a chest containing some brewing items, empty and filled bottles, buckets, and other scraps of varying materials. Thank you for reading, please support this idea on the Feedback site! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Oct 2019 02:47 AM PDT Basically just Stone-based signs. I do like Wooden Signs, but more variety would be good (though it's great we've got them in all the wood types now) Could be made from smooth stone, stone, or nether quartz. Maybe the three weird-stones too (Diorite and stuff) [link] [comments] |
Reintroducing the Nether Reactor... Sorta Posted: 21 Oct 2019 06:46 PM PDT Some of you might remember this little thing from way back when, known as the Nether Reactor Core. If you placed some blocks around it like so, it would create this structure, full of nether resources and mobs. Now, with the nether being made livable, I propose a reintroduction of this archaic block, though not exactly as it was. First of all, the crafting recipe would need to be changed, though only slightly. I first considered making a nether star needed, but decided that would be too much trouble. Instead, I believe the recipe should be changed into four iron, at each of the corners, and diamonds everywhere else. This would make it be slightly more expensive and hard to get, costing 5 diamonds, rather than three, and would also be more realistic to its texture. Now, on to what it would actually do. It would continue to have the ability to bring the nether into the overworld(and would also have the ability to bring the different nether biomes in), but it would also have the ability to bring the overworld into the nether. By this, I mean you would build a different structure around the reactor core in order to bring a different biome in. Here are some examples(The diamond block represents the core). Now, when each of these were activated, they would make a structure similar to the nether spire(shown above), each unique to their own biome. They would also each change the surrounding landscape into something you might ordinarily find in their respective overworld biome, and would change the biome type to that biome. Some examples of these structures would be these. Ice Reactor Creates a massive ice spike Mountain Reactor Creates a miniature mountain Forest Reactors Creates a giant tree, unique to each biome Mushroom Reactor Creates a massive mushroom Ocean Reactor Creates a structure similar to an ocean temple Desert Reactor Creates a structure similar to a desert temple The structures for the nether ones would depend on what structures actually will spawn, and we'll not know that until the update is out. When the reactor is mined, it would drop nothing, regardless of silk touch. [link] [comments] |
A way for small world gameplay Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:49 PM PDT There is a world option in the Bedrock Edition of the game called "Old" and it makes a map that is only 256x256x128 blocks in volume. It is a gameplay mode meant mainly for players with low end devices, and there isn't much that you can do in terms of exploration and progression. I'd like to offer a new way to play on this world, but in a more fun manner. Size: The original 256x256 x and y cords can stay the same, but the sky boundaries should be extended to 256 as well, so the actual world is trapped in a perfect cube. It will also allow player to actually build along the z coordinate as to push building upward, instead of outward. Dimensions: There is currently no way to go to other dimensions in the version, as nether portals don't work and end portals don't even generate. I propose that possible a nether does generate (same size as overworld) so players can actually go to the nether for resources and materials (Besides, there's a nether update coming) and the end portal always spawn dead center of the overworld, all the way down at bedrock, and the end fight will be the same. The outer end islands with end cities may be brought down to only one singular city just a small distance outside the end. Structures: Only a few structures can generate, and its a random chance they generate into the world, too. These structures consist of villages, huts, dungeons, and shipwrecks/ruins. Even if these are the only structures, they should have a bit more of a set value, as so you don't spawn into a world with no structures. My personal idea is that at least 1 village and two dungeons spawn into the world, with a random chance of another structure spawning as well. Temples and full strongholds may be left out. In the nether, at least a small nether fortress should always spawn. Size can vary, however. Notes: Lava can generate normally throughout the world. Biome spawning can be normal, and mushrooms biomes/islands are also allowed. Wither can't escape the dimension of the world. I tried my best with this idea, and it is subject to change. Let me know your thoughts, questions, and criticism in the comments below. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:18 AM PDT A pickaxe enchantment, Wishbone will come in 3 different levels, increasing range for each one. On right click, it will play an audio cue and turn your body to the nearest underground structure if it is within range. With the rarity of these structures though, range will start at 30 blocks, adding 30 for every new level. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Shortcuts for /trigger and /function Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:35 PM PDT Currently /trigger is one of the only ways for vanilla servers to create custom commands. /function can also be used by admins to run lots of commands at once. I think that typing out /trigger or /function takes a little too long for its use, so I propose /t and /f. They'd work exactly the same as their counterparts, but be shortcuts, like /w is to /msg, or /tm to /teammsg. This could also fit into the lore of some servers, as "t" could stand for anything. /trigger is the closest Minecraft has come to custom commands, which is a feature that probably won't be implemented in the near future, if at all. /t would make it a lot simpler. Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:20 PM PDT Ghasts should start crying ghast tears and scream and wail like toddlers if hit instead of the generic ghast pain screams, whilst shooting deadlier fireballs, since ghasts are just tentacled heads that whine like babies.... [link] [comments] |
End Rods in rain can be struck with a channeling trident to strike it with lightning. Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:09 PM PDT End Rods are the thing that appear on End Cities and End Ships. It could be a reason as to why lightning never forms there. Lightning is formed when there are tons of electrons in the atmosphere, judging from the light of endrods, they just take it directly. In the overworld, a trident is like sticking a fork into an outlet. It should strike the trident as if the trident had struck an entity. [link] [comments] |
Bees can't work if there's a campfire beneath their nest Posted: 21 Oct 2019 11:45 PM PDT In real life, smoke causes bees to become lethargic and tired, forcing them to rest. Hence, beekeepers will smoke a hive when it's time to harvest. However, in Minecraft, there isn't any downside to just leaving a campfire beneath a hive at all times. Since 1.15 is also going to bring over the campfire-extinguishing mechanic from Bedrock, this could be an interesting use for it, lighting a campfire to harvest from the hive and then extinguishing it afterwards to let the bees work. Posted: 21 Oct 2019 07:40 PM PDT It's ya boi Saltious back with another list of minor improvements with a shared theme. This time we're doing minecarts. Tilting/leaning When a path has two possible directions you can lean to try and force the minecart onto the other path. The screen will tilt in the direction you press and there's a chance 50/50 of the cart instead turning against the track. If you lean in the direction the path will turn the cart will get a speed boost because you're shifting your weight with the momentum of the cart instead of against it. Braking Pressing backwards relative to the direction the cart is moving causes it to brake. This slows it down slowly, about 20% faster than just letting it lose momentum on it's own. It's impossible to come to a complete stop on a ramp, but you'll still move slower. This emits a horrible screeching sound effect and sparks, discussed below. Shiiiiiny When being effected by either braking, leaning, or powerless powered rails, minecarts will emit spark particles (the ones fireworks emit when traveling through the air, but orange). Riders When unoccupied and at a complete stop Nitwits will attempt to ride/dismount any minecarts and push them in a random direction, then wait. Nitwits love roller coasters! Entities in the Minecart's path take damage when it collides with them, based on speed and momentum. I imagine a metal cart full of rocks and such hurts quite a bit when it gets introduced to you at high speed. [link] [comments] |
