My Idea (Made Using Chisel and Bits) I think it would be a great idea because it will add a more realistic feel to Minecraft when you venture into a snow biome.

Fences and walls etc. don't connect to other blocks while holding shift

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:58 AM PDT

A small change I've wanted for a while that I feel could open up a lot of building possibilities. Similar to how placing chests currently works. When placed without sneaking they connect to surrounding blocks like they currently do, but while holding shift, they only connect to the blockface they're directly placed on.

Edit: Alternately, instead of the shift key, placing blocks from the offhand could affect they connect.

    Oasis Biome

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 06:14 AM PDT

A cool new biome would be an Oasis. It'd be kinda small, found in random spots in any biome. It's a rough circle of grass with oak trees and a ton of flowers, watermelons, pumpkins, and possibly other foods like beets, carrots, sugar cane, and things like that. Parrots can be found in the trees, and other wildlife is abundant. In the middle of the circle is a small pond with fish, sea grass, maybe some coral. The pond gives better rates of rare loot when fished in, so you have a higher chance of getting armor, enchanted books, name tags, and other stuff. The rarity of finding the biome would be on par with bamboo forests, mushroom islands, and badlands.

The Souling - the actual 'souls' for the Soul Sand Valley!

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:23 PM PDT

What mystery lies in the soulsands of Minecraft? What if there are really actual souls in it?

I present to you, the Souling, (or you can suggest a better name!)

Soulings are ghostly, glowing cube – shaped neutral mobs that spawn in the Soul Sand Valley biome at the Nether, and rarely spawns in the Overworld.

    Here are the general stats:

Health Points: 20 (10 hearts) Behavior: Neutral Attack Strength: 4 Size: Height: 2.2 Blocks, Width: 1 Block Spawn: Soul Sand Valley, rarely spawn in the Overworld Drops: Soul Fragments Experience: 10

    SPAWNING

Soulings spawn naturally in Soul Sand Valley biomes. In the Overworld, there is around 5% chance they'd spawn at night. And at some rare occurrence wherein right after a player kills any mob, there is a very small chance they'd instantly appear and spawn from the death of the mob, and then attack the player.

    BEHAVIOR

Soulings, like Ghasts, float around the Soul Sand Valley and are usually found circling around the blue flames in the valley. They glow so they emit light, as strong as a torch. As they lurk, they gradually disappear in every 100 ticks (5 seconds), and then appears again. They only stay around the perimeters of the valley, and will avoid leaving the biome. As a neutral mob, it will not attack the player but once it is attacked, its eyes will turn red and its mouth will open, exposing the glowing core inside of it, and then pounces the player. If the player attempts to run away, it will chase and sprint to the player (faster than a player's normal running but equal to the speed of a sprinting player).

Also, at some chance if a souling is attacked, it will attempt to 'possess' the player, and put the player in a 'possession effect' in which the player won't be able to control its body, and will move around randomly on its own for a few seconds.

When it is 'killed', it will have its own unique death animation wherein it will just slowly fade, and then leaves the drops and experience. (It's because basically, they are already dead souls, in which it can't die like any of the other mobs. But it will just disappear when defeated, as if it retreated and hid itself)

When in Overworld, they only roam around at night but when sunrise hits, it will despawn.

    THE SOUL FRAGMENTS

Soul Fragments will be the main drop of the Souling. These drops can be used to craft a potion that will enable the player to phase through blocks and possess mobs! We'll call it as the Potion of Transmigration/ Astral Projection for now. In this effect, I have thought two options on how this potion will work but haven't decided yet which one is better, so here are the options:

a.) it enables the player to separate its soul from its body and turn itself into a souling in the given amount of time of the effect. During this effect, the 'souling player' will be able to phase through blocks but only at x – levels. It cannot phase downwards or upwards. While in its 'souling form', it will leave its physical body stationary from where the effect has started. And also, guess what, it will be able to possess any mob and control its body! It will also adapt the vision of the mob that is possessed (like the Creeper as an example, it will enable the player to see the green filtered vision of it, just like in the Spectator Mode). Also, if the player attempts to possess a mob to lure it into its own death, once it died or if the effect has finished, the soul will revert instantly back to the player to where it stood.

b.) the player will not separate a soul from its body, but still enables the player to phase through blocks at x – levels. It can also possess other mobs but of course unlike option A, it will be its own body that will possess other bodies. And there'll be certain problems that might incur like how will the player get itself out when the effect has finished? Another risk as that if the player stayed within blocks from phasing, even after the effect was done, it can get trapped and be damaged from being stuck inside the blocks.

Also, during this effect, most mobs will attempt to run away from you when the player gets close around 10 – 15 block radius, due to being scared, but except for mobs who live in the Nether.

    SOME PROBLEMS

I am still not pretty sure about the soul/spirit concept of this mob if ever Mojang would approve these kind of ideas, of having souls exist inside mobs and having it seem like there are actual 'ghost' or 'evil spirits' in Minecraft, since it is kind of new and haven't been applied yet in the system of the game. I also understand if this mob has a lot of unique features unlike the rest of the mobs released, which can be quite hard to implement or too unique to be a mob in Minecraft. But I still really love to suggest a very cool mob, so I would also love to hear your suggestions too, and help me out brainstorm any fix or adjustments need to be done so this mob suggestion will be possible in the rules and mechanics of Minecraft. Feel free to comment!

    New skeleton variant: Dirty corpse

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 10:17 AM PDT

Dirty corpse spawns in swamps, replacing regular skeleton. This skeleton is little bit faster underwater, can swim up and down (like drowneds) and wear log as a armor. When dirty corpse wears log,it won't take any dmg from weapons, but player can destroy his armor by: Fall dmg,Explosion dmg, hitting with axe (each axe needs few hits to destroy the log: Golden-5,Wooden-4,Stone-3,Iron-2 and Diamond-1). When player destroys there log, dirty corpse will take any dmg.

    Hp: 20 (10 hearts)

    Dmg: Easy-3,Normal-5,Hard-7

Reinforced Stone (looking for better name)

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 01:08 AM PDT

Reinforced stone is a decorative building block crafted with 4 iron nuggets surrounding 1 cobblestone. It looks like the bottoms of furnaces and pistons, and has a blast resistance slightly higher than cobblestone.

I've wanted this as a building block for a while, just because it looks nice, and I don't want to use furnaces in builds. :)

(also: it isn't moved by slime blocks or honey blocks. now you don't need to use block entities as filler blocks in redstone contraptions)

New Nether Biome: The Foul Bog!

    Posted: 19 Oct 2019 08:39 PM PDT

The Nether Update promises to add all sorts of life and new biomes to the dull dimension. Even with everything shown during Minecon Live 2019, the lower levels of the Nether remain uninteresting and not worth visiting. A biome containing new blocks and items would surely entice players to travel into lower and more dangerous terrain. An album containing screenshots of the biome itself, blocks, and a new mob can be found below:

    Full screenshot album

Foul Bog Description: It contains small islands within the lava pools near the bottom of the Nether, whose edges are made of "Brittlecrust." "Concigo Roots" can be seen poking out of their surfaces, with the fruit growing underneath. The biome is surrounded by a light yellow fog (I couldn't figure out how to achieve this for the screenshot).

Concigo Fruit & Roots: Roots will extrude from the ground and connect to clusters of the fruit lying underneath. They can be collected with an axe with the Silk Touch enchantment. The thick version can be crafted into 8 thinner versions. The fruit can be collected in groups of 2-4 from the clusters, which are unaffected by the Fortune enchantment. When eaten, the fruit will fill 4 hunger (2 drumsticks) and 2 saturation points, as well as grant the player the "Sprouted" effect for 20 seconds. The fruit can be planted on netherrack, resulting in the quick growth of the roots, but slow maturing of the fruit.

Sprouted Effect: The Sprouted effect is applied when a Concigo Fruit is eaten. This effect will make the arms of those capable of wielding items appear wrapped in Concigo Roots. It basically allows for greater reach, as the roots extend the held item forward when swung. Players can also "lasso" mobs as though they were using a lead while the effect is active.

Brittlecrust: Brittlecrust has a duller brown color unlike any current blocks. This block will break nearly immediately after being stepped on by any entity besides a "Shemp" or an entity with the Slow Falling effect. It can be obtained using a pickaxe with the Silk Touch enchantment and crafted with magma cream to make a variant that shatters to reveal lava in its place. (I have considered other recipes with certain materials for unique blocks, similarly to "Red Nether Bricks," but I could not think of any interesting designs.)

The Shemp: The Shemp is a passive mob that only spawns in the Foul Bog biome. It is hunted by Piglins and will scurry away from both them and players in order to bury itself when far enough. The Shemp can spawn with a smooth shell or a pointed shell, as seen in the album above. When killed, it will drop Shemp Meat, which fills 5 hunger (2.5 drumsticks) and 6 saturation points, and a Pointed Shemp Shell if it has a pointed shell.

Potion of Stiffness: This potion is brewed using Sharp Shemp Shells and applies the "Steady" effect. This effect will slightly increase knockback resistance.

This biome still feels a little empty to me, so if anyone can think of any additions/improvements, please let me know! Also, please support this idea on the Feedback site!

Lily pads should bloom during the day

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:53 PM PDT

They'd be a subtle yet impactful addition to swamps, when the update eventually rolls around. Lily pads irl look very pretty when blooming (Blooming Lily Pad IRL), and I think they'd fit the game quite nicely. Creative players could step up their pond/lake game a bunch, and it'd be an overall amazing change.

    The "complexity" update

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 05:01 AM PDT

Minecraft is changing, its evolving, and its beautiful. While at the core it remains rather simple, minecraft has evolved to ne able to have more complex mechanics, like redstone.

For example the totem of undying animation. If you had explained the item to someone before 1.9 they maybe would think it could be in the game, but probably when used it would just do the thing and dissapear. Instead we have a fancy animation. Newer mobs like the pandas, Foxes and phantoms retain their simplicity, especially animals are still derpy, but are more complex, pandas roll, sharpen their claws and have variations. Many people would have think of the foxs as a reskin of the wolf, but they are very different. For hostile mobs we have the evoker, who is much more "complex" having various attacks that arent just getting close to the player and hitting them. Phantoms have their own unique mechanic and look fantastic overall. Even de EnderDragon got and upgrade.

But what about the rest? Zombies just get close to you and look at you in a mean way till you die. Same with the player attacking them, the player can either chose between a hit or shooting an arrow at them. I believie minecraft could get a little bit more complex while retaining its core simplicity, for example, a few ideas for mobs:

Zombies: Better animations, I think they should remain very simple only having 2 attacks, a punch, and a bite. The latter only used at very close range or against villagers.

Skeletons: Better firing animation, I think they could have a new attack that they would use at low health in wich they would shoot one of their bones, slower than an arrow but more damaging, better AI.

Spiders: Able to climb down and drop from the ceiling of caves onto the player, also should be able to shoot their webs inflicting a new effect on the player wich would make them les agile, they would retain their movement speed but would jump less and swing weapons more slowly. This effect would be visible leaving the player entangles in string. Their melee atack should be a bite.

Enderman: As they are more inteligent creatures they should have more skills, they could teleport the player upwards to deal fall damage, kinda like shulckers, and in case the player is on water they could try to make a bridge towars them with blocks they would pick up. When raining they would try to place a block on top of them to protect themselves from the rain. Better animations of course, i think all mobs need some reworking in that aspect.

Shulkers: They already are more "complex" with their levitating attack. Maybe when at low healt they should close more frequently and then only be damaged by pickaxes.

Pillagers: I thinks villagers are genious and one of the most "minecrafty" mobs Mojang has come up with, so I would only give them better ai, trying to seek cover, not shooting other pillagers and maybe even building small barricades if they can find cover, these could be made with some kind of new block made frome sticks that could be quite fragile, being gradually broken by arrows or something.

Ravagers and evokers dont need any update even thoug the ravger needs a good drop.

Vindicators: Would ocassionally throw axes at the player, better animations. When named "Freeman" their axes would be remplaced with a crowbar.

Iron Golems: Better AI they are currently useless for defending villages. They should be able to smash the ground in and AoE attack, throw blocks at enemies, and when at low health have an attack with their poppys/roses, like bringing edged roses and vines from the earth.

Snow Golems: Better AI When trhowing snow balls they would inflic an effect similar to that of the spider but this one would leave others frozen and make them slower. They would alsp throw icicles wich would only deal damage.

Witches: Should cast spells like the evokers, like making barriers or something.

Animals: I think old animals like pigs could made slightly more detailes and less derpy for example think about the resource packs that give the pigs ears and make squids not a eldritch monstrosity for example:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/aipeu2/just_really_wanted_to_show_off_my_custom_squid/

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/b289zq/the_squid_has_always_been_my_least_favourite/

Player: This is a though one. We are already gonna have a combat revision with 1.15 so i think if the player could have more variation when swinging weapons and more weapons to use it could already be good enough. Also new weapons, maybe even a redstone one, and more shields, also better armor models.

We also desperatly need 3x3 mining tools or enchantments, at least.

To balance these changes out maybe Mobs could deal less damage or spawn less frequently. Also i think ot would be cool to have items, at least in creative which the player could use to mimic these new mob abilties.

Now, what other things could be more complex? I have already stated about AI, i think minecraft could learn about Half Life. I mean its a game from the 98 it can't be that difficult, right?

Speaking of Half life, what about item animations when in hand? If you have played half life you may remeber Gordon teasing the snark on his hand with his finger, I think it could be cool to have something similar in minecraft like the eyes of ender would "move" and look at thins from time to time, etc.

What do you think? Feel free to add anything!

Allow for users to change a model from opaque to non-opaque.

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:23 PM PDT

This would really help out people trying to make custom models for resource packs. Currently you cannot change a block to be opaque or visa versa, this creates some problems as it effectively makes it so all blocks have to be a block. Here is an example of how this is a problem.

Redstone Only Connects to Target When Placed Holding Shift

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 12:33 PM PDT

When placing redstone dust while holding shift, it only connects to the blockface it is directly placed on.

In case the benefit of this is not obvious: This would allow parallel lines of redstone, directly adjacent to each other, that don't connect to each other, dramatically increasing the potential for compact redstone circuitry.

There is one potential downside, which is that in some situations, it is common to sneak while building, which could make this difficult. In all cases this is done to move more precisely or to avoid falling off of edges, and in all cases, one could release the shift key to place redstone normally, and then press it again before moving.

EDIT: In addition, the shift key is already used for the purpose of modifying how blocks connect, when placing chests. This is merely an extension of that to include redstone.

There are other similar suggestions, but they are either more limited in scope or use significantly more complicated mechanics.

Here is the suggestion on the feedback site: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360054527871-Redstone-Only-Connects-to-Target-When-Placed-Holding-Shift

    Alchemic update

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 03:49 PM PDT

This update would add lots of potions and chemicals to the game.

Hydrochloric acid: a splash potion esque chemical dropped by witches that slowly breaks all iron armor (takes 10 minutes to destroy a full set) and iron bars (takes 30 seconds) in the vicinity, instead of drinking milk, the only way to stop the effects is by water logging the bars, or jumping in water with the armor

Psychedelic arrows: more like psychedelic potions that can become arrows, but for utility arrows would be more useful. Once you have the potion effect, weird creatures start to attack you, of course none of them actually do damage,. Either made from psychedelic mushrooms (potions) or dropped by illusioners (arrows)

This is a work in progress, and pretty out there, but if you have ideas put them in the comments, and I'll add them to the list.

    Hardcore Expanded

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 02:16 AM PDT

Hardcore expanded would change the way a few things work in Minecraft to make it harder.

-Stackable food stacks to only 20

-Mobs would sometimes spawn with potion effects to add difficulty

-Sleeping would be turned off to make surviving the night be necessary

-Phantoms won't spawn based on if you don't sleep, they spawn depending how much damage you have taken

-zombies with axes spawn to quickly knock out doors

-Limbs can be damaged shown by a red highlight. Different damaged limbs do different effects

Damaged head will cause arrows to miss their expected target

Damaged torso will cause slower mining

Damaged damaged legs will make movement speed slower

Damaged feet cause weakness Everytime you jump

    -Slimes cause slowness

-Endermen can pickup and place tnt

    -Silverfish regularly spawn in caves

    An enchanted mushroom biome

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 07:36 AM PDT

This entire concept was inspired by a post in r/minecraft

So basically, there could be an EXTREMELY RARE (like a 2% chance of finding it) variant of the Mushroom biome where you can find little towns of pixies as well as enchanted variants of wood (say, Enchanted Oak, Birch, Spruce then Dark Oak is Evil Oak) however, there also could be a new plant that is even rarer than the island called the Magma Bush, where you could be able to get magma creams. I'll explain somethings now.

    Pixie Towns and Pixies

So, this could be a new friendly mob, (not tameable but is still friendly) and they act like villagers and can be traded with in order to get different dyes. You also can encourage them to breed, however they have genders and cannot be directly bred.

    Enchanted Varieties

Theres nothing special however they could just have more bright, colourful and unnatural shades once converted to planks.

    Magma Bushes

These could work like the sweet berry bushes and can be used as a way to gain a source of food or potion ingredients. As a type of nerf however, you would need a special type of shears to get it.

    So, what do you think?

    A new world above us

    Posted: 20 Oct 2019 10:51 AM PDT

End is not longer a endgame, there should be something after. Players need to reach higher. And here is when my idea comes: When player goes 100-200 blocks above max building height (255) using elytra and fireworks, or tnt, he will be transported to new dimension: "the above". It is dimension made from large floating islands, each in different shape and size, from small ones smaller than house, to bigger ones big enough to fit large village. There are new blocks: Cloud dirt- different version of dirt. Bit harder to dig, can be used as normal dirt in farms Skystone- stone like block, as hard to mine as obsidian, can be used for tools (better than diamond, but breaks as fast as stone ones) Meteor block- generated in structures found in the above: meteorite. It is meteorite that crashed into one of islands. These blocks look like red, half-molten iron. They can be only mined by skystone pickaxe or better, and It can be turned into 9 meteor ignots (and back into block). It can be used in crafting new items

And there are also new type of tree: Floatree: it can be cut down only with diamond axe, and then use in crafting to create floatplanks, that can be turned into new type of slab, door, stairs, and even fence and floatsticks, that are used instead of sticks in crafting tools from materials found in this dimension. When combined with meteor ingots, in shape of rails, they create anti-gravity rails, that on longer need to be placed on block, and minecarts on it will accelerate while going upwards, like they are going downside instead upside.but when going down, they behave like on normal rails; also accelerate. What makes it great for transport.

Tools form meteor ignots are better than floatwood tools and skystone tools, and as durable as diamond one.

Other uses for meteor ignots are: Used instead in place of sand in crafting tnt will create meteor tnt: stronger and sets fire around, can be used to create meteor tnt minecart Combined with ender pearl create new type of "door" thatonly players can pass trough, and don't need to be opened or closed. Can be turned into throwable mini-meteor like snowball, but deal damage, to target it hits. And some more

And finally best of new ores diamond of skies: Ore that spawns in random places, far from any islands. It can be used to create better version of diamond tools.

But finally best part: mobs -A flying pig: a pig, but flies. It drops phantom membrane and porkchop. It is passive, and palyer can ride it like normal pig, except, it flies -Flying nightmare: undead mob looking like phantom version of zombie. Have 60 HP, incredibly fast, deals a lot of damage and gives wither effect. Drops rotten flesh, but may drop elytra -Cloud whale: large passive mob with a lot of hp, that player can ride around, useful to travel between islands -Cloud shark: fast, and aggresive mob, it have only 20 hp, but it is fast enough to not get hit easily. Drops new type of fish, and tooth, new type of weapon, that deals similar damage as stone sword, but it is way faster, and increase amount of eatable items that drops from mobs. -the devourer: giant snake-like dragon that can "eat" block on its way, and attack using dragon breath, it is new miniboss, that spawns naturally, but really rarely. 200 hp. Also drops tooth, a tons of xp, blocks that it have eaten and few random, but valuable items (as something that it once eaten). -rods (sky fishes) small, rod shaped mobs with one hp, and too fast for player to see them, but can be easily defeated by sweeping edge, splash or lingering potions of instant damage. When they are nearby player and mobs may get random negative effect, except levitation, bad omen, and bad luck. May drop phantom membrane, but this is rare. -Elite skeletons: like skeletons, but with more range, hp, and better drops, it shoots tipped arrows that gives it's target levitation effect, they drop it if defeated -Jumper: new type of animal that can jump between islands, don't attack, unless player attacks them, then attacks like spiders, or jump at player launching him really far. -skyvillagers: new type of villagers living in villages in this dimension, with new trades -meteor golem: this dimension's iron golem -sky wanderer: alive version of phantom, it doesn't attack, but if defeated in area free of sunlight, it will turn into phantom.

    And some more.

New items will include boots that gives slow falling effect, item that allows player to see things far away, new item called "windmaker" that lets player launch nearby mobs on distance that they would be pushed by something with knockback 3 or 4 enchantment and deal damage, but only these mobs that stands in front of player. And ender sack, that works as infinite ender pearl, that does not deal damage to player using it, but is incredibly hard to craft, and some alternative way to accelerate using elyta, but will work as tool that have a lot of uses and can be repaired

New structure will be sky temple, that is full of new mob called "sky guardian" that can fly and deal damage by launching spike like projectiles looking like made of energy, doesn't deal as much damage compared to other mob in this dimension, but can launch this projectiles insanely fast. Inside of this temple there is new boss, currently not named that can create similar attacks, but stronger, launch everything around it in air, or create tornado that spins players, mobs and items around it and deal damage to it, boss itself and sky guardians are immune to it. I don't have idea for loot tet, but it will be something new, and really cool.

To go back to overworld, just jump into void in this dimension, and you will be teleported to overworld, but still on really large height.
