We also have plugins to help with voting and getting the server advertised. Plugins have been configured to attempt to preserve the vanilla experience as much as possible. Location: Montreal, Canada Difficulty: Hard, I mean really hard. Vanilla minecraft has a limit of 70 mobs in single player. To attempt to match this in multiplayer the mob cap is 70 mobs per player. Most minecraft servers lower their mobcap to 10 or 20. So, you will encounter many more monsters on this server than you may be used to seeing. Rule(s): No Cheating Clarification on no cheating. No cheating means using any client or code to give you an advantage or "hack" the game. This includes any kind of x-ray. Duping is a grey area because it's using an ingame mechanic or exploit to give you a benefit in the game. Since duping is almost impossible to reliably police we will not be banning people for duping, but it is frowned upon by the community. What this means is most of our players look very negatively upon it and will be less likely to work with you if you are a known duper and may be more likely to target you for griefs or pvp. Lag Machines: Intentionally building something to make the server unplayable is a illegal under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) (18 U.S.C. §1030) . We use the mod pack Life in the Village and have set up a role system that our players abide by. Each player is assigned a role in the community (EX, Blacksmith, Miner, Fisherman, Etc.) that contributes to the well being of the town and the people in it. Long description, tl;dr features list below: Since 2010, the Summa Crossroads Minecraft server has been built on one great idea - that what we build should be fun and exciting. We've gone through multiple maps, updates, and plugin sets, always trying to find that delicate balance of fun, challenge, and drive. We've been around since alpha, and we've learned a lot. This server has been a lot of things for a lot of people, but it's always been a good time. Today, we feature a vast 16,000 by 16,000 map sprawling from edge to edge with beautiful custom biomes. It's hand-painted and lovingly crafted - every inch is designed to bring the sense of adventure and vast scale that you may recall from your first days of Minecraft. Some residents have built towns and gathered the resources to construct their own waypoints, which you can unlock the ability to fast-travel to by venturing there yourself. Much of the landscape is yet unexplored, and each week new adventures are introduced. For those who enjoy a good challenge, the overworld is bustling with deep caves, and the monsters that come out at night will be no allies. PvP arenas let you challenge your friends and humiliate your foes - paying you out for putting up a good fight. The Underdome and Woodland arenas let you demonstrate your gladiatorial might against wave after wave of things that go bump in the night, with spoils to those who entertain. Vast parkour challenges, one of which has only been completed by two players in the history of the server, will spare you no mercy. Unrelenting instanced temples will push you to your limits, giving you fame and fortune if you show the world that you are a true hero. Accumulate enough might and you can unlock ancient secrets, letting you use magic spells to control the world around you. We think it's important to foster a strong community, and our player ranks are thus tied to activity on the server. As you continue to build your legend and establish your presence, you will earn your way to glory and prestige. Often times it's the little things that make the biggest difference, and we have a plethora of precisely tuned pieces that keep the cogs turning. Little tweaks to the basics of Minecraft and bigger underlying systems designed to reward you for playing the game your way. We want players to have fun and enjoy themselves in a world that feels ready for conquest and adventure. We're a mature survival server, which means we won't teleport you across the world - you've got to make the trek yourself. You might die, but you'll get right back up again and keep fighting. To celebrate the opening of the arena, we're holding a contest! RELEASED: Automatic events! Every weekend, special events will automatically activate! The first event release is Tribute - gather Tribute of the Gods and bring it to the Oracle of the Gods in Dawn's Landing. Offer enough Tribute and you'll earn a blessing from the Gods - but you're not working alone, progress towards blessings is collaborative! Bring your friends, group up to gather Tribute, and give the Gods a worthy offering! RELEASED: New enemies! Dark cultists have started appearing across the realms. Slay them to fight back against the tides of darkness! Some adventurers have reported finding equipment of great power... Summon and conquer Champion monsters! The fiercest monsters you've fought yet can be summoned by actively dispelling the darkness. Champion monsters are a challenge fit for a crowd! Rumor has it that if you can defeat them, you can unlock rare treasures stolen by the hordes of the dark armies. RELEASED: Sockets! Our new Sockets system has been released! Unlock the Sealed Potential of your items and infuse them with magical gems to become even more powerful! Progress through the central line of quests, slaying monsters and protecting Prosperus. Doing so will allow you to unlock access to Avenfeld, a new realm full of beautiful terrain and rare treasures!
