Golden carrots remove the blindness effect

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 10:18 AM PST

Since Illusioners are being implemented in 1.16, I thought this would be a cool feature to add. Perhaps there would only be a chance of it removing the blindness, but it would be nice all the same, especially since it makes sense intuitively.

It is based on the fact that carrots are rich in Vitamin A, and as such, help prevent Night Blindness. It would also be another way to get 6-year-olds to eat them. However, I felt it would be extremely imbalanced if carrots themselves had this ability, which is why I went ahead with golden carrots.

Pillagers should look for cover while reloading.

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 01:05 AM PST

Honestly the pillagers seem a bit dumb compared to the rest of the illagers, i mean vindicators try and trick players into believing they are just a villager, evokers can use magic with ease, and witches know how to brew potions. The only exceptions to this are the pillagers and ravagers who just mindlessly charge their target. So i suggest making them seem to have more awarness of their sorroundings by looking for 2 block high walls to take cover in if the player is holding any sort of ranged weapon, to reload.

    Make pickaxes break pistons faster

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 10:45 AM PST

Yeah... The fact that pistons take a bit to break and there isn't any tool to do that, I decided to chose the pickaxe as a tool made to break pistons faster. Comment about what you think, that would be awesome. And NO I don't agree with any comment saying to add a new tool for that, so if you have that idea in mind, I won't agree with you. This is just to make things faster.

    Rocks in the Overworld

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 05:03 AM PST

The surface of the overworld is missing something... Rocks!

I think this would add another level of ambience to the game as well as helping players who just started. They wouldn't be too common and I think they should spawn in packs of 2-4 around each other.

    • Rocks should have up to 6 unique shapes (sort of like the Dragon Egg) and would be affected by gravity.

    • Like anvils, if a rock were to fall on top of you, it would inflict some damage.

    • If you mined one, it would drop cobblestone. Rare drops may include Gold Nuggets, Iron Nuggets, and Clay. This would be another convenient way of obtaining basic resources in the game, rather than mining in the side of a mountain or stair-casing underground.

They cannot be crafted, however I think if you used TNT to blow up stone, rocks should drop as items. This would add an incentive to crafting/using TNT.

Thanks for reading, let me know what you think.

    Intercepting Ender Pearls

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 04:04 AM PST

NOTE: I don't know what to flair this as.

If an Ender Pearl is flying through the air, attacking it or shooting an arrow at it will cause it to immediately sink to the ground if hit. If the attack does 6 damage or more, the Ender Pearl will instantly teleport the other player.

Walking on the face of a sticky piston will slow you down

    Braziers- Coloured decorative fires

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 07:25 AM PST

    Brazier

The brazier would be a block that allows you to safely light a fire in it, providing decoration without the risk of burning down your house.

    • The block would emit the same light level as fire while lit
    • Items thrown in from the top would burn, making it a compact waste disposal like a lava cauldron
    • This is the proposed Crafting recipe
    • This is what a real world brazier looks like, for reference

    Primary features

    Ignition/dousing

    • The brazier is not lit when initially placed (open to feedback on this)
    • Ignite a placed brazier with flint and steel to start the fire inside
    • Right click with a shovel or douse in water to put out (like a campfire)

    Colours

    • Right click the brazier with a dye to change the flame colour
    • This is a straight recolour like the 1.16 blue flames, simply for decoration
    • Dousing and relighting will return to the default colour

    Additional features

These proposed features are not necessary to the suggestion, but might be extra options to consider.

    Smoke

    • Right click with a hay bale to produce rising smoke particles like the campfire
    • This would only be level one smoke so the campfire would not be redundant
    • As a bonus, perhaps the smoke could be coloured too

    Large flames

    • Right click with a fuel (coal or coal block perhaps?) to boost the flames
    • This would cause the block above the brazier to resemble a fire block, with the brazier filled to the top with fuel
    • Allows for concealing the brazier in a floor to give the appearance of just a flame in builds
    • The flame would retain its colour and still wouldn't spread like a normal fire block

Braziers have been suggested before, such as u/Nyodex's Braziers! (New Redstone/Decorational/Light Block; Images Included). However, I believe this suggestion to be different enought to justify another take on the idea.

    Powered Ladder

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 02:06 PM PST

You know when you have a ladder going up with a trapdoor on top and you have to look up to open and close it? Well what if, just like powered rails, you could craft a powered ladder which would send a signal when you touch it, powering anything nearby thus opening your trapdoor for you. Crafting would be the normal ladder recipe but with two red stone in the two empty spots and a gold bar in the center instead of a stick. Apologies if this has been suggested already hope you like it.

Edit 1: Change name of Powered ladder to Detector Ladder

    Rocks: Material and Decoration

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 02:51 PM PST

Before we begin, I would like to address that this is not based on this post, which is better described as "boulders/geodes"

With that out of the way...

    Rocks.

It's actually kind of weird that these aren't in the game yet, but rocks are a naturally-generated "resource" that dot the landscape. They are smaller and flatter than a stone button, and can generate almost anywhere.

Rocks come in 8 forms. 4 Rocks can be crafted into the block of that variant, and this can be reversed at a stonecutter.

    • Stone/Cobblestone Rock
    • Andesite Rock
    • Diorite Rock
    • Granite Rock
    • Netherrack Rock
    • Endstone Rock
    • Sandstone Rock
    • Red Sandstone Rock

All rocks can be crafted in an X-shape to create 6 Stone Paths of that variant.

    Dog Collars and Dog Teeth

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 03:57 AM PST

Dog Collars are made with the same materials as armor (chain dog collar also exists) and act like the helmet armor for tamed wolves. The leather is the default and can be dyed. The pattern for a Dog Collar is materials around the middle (like a chest). Gold needs a little bit more use, and the armor is useless but the tools mine quicker, so Gold Dog Collars cause the dog to go quicker.

Dog Teeth are made just like Dog Collars, and act as stronger weapons for tamed wolves. Their default is none, but if they get a better one dropped on the ground, they'll auto pick it up. All of them act like a sword (adding damage) upon attack to the basic hit.

A totem of undying can be crafted with a Gold Dog Collar to make an Undying Dog Collar. This acts like a Gold Dog Collar except when the wolf dies, they will respawn.

Dog Collars can be enchanted with all the helmet enchantments.

Dog Teeth can be enchanted with all the sword enchantments.

A tamed wolf can also be given a head and they will wear that head. This works for the 5 default heads, and playerheads/customheads the player uses commands to get.

    Blindness levels and color

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 02:45 PM PST

The blindness effect has only 1 level right now, wether you change it to 255 or 1. Youll always see the same. We can change this so that level 50 is seeing in a 20 blocks radius or something. This will make for some interesting ideas in custom maps or minigames. Also the color of the blindness effect. You can make it (dark) red like the devil is near. (Like the haze in the nether)* Or white because theres lots of fog. Or grey when theres lots of smoke

Other ideas are welcome. (*this is for custom maps and not met to be an ingame feature)

New generated structure: The Hot Springs!

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 05:48 AM PST

The hot springs can be found in the desert, mesa, mountains, and the nether.

There are some jungle/Acasia trees around it(except for the nether). Similar to another game(BOTW), if you stand in the spring you will get regeneration. Parrots and llamas will spawn here.

However, in the nether, it is different. There are either 1 or 2 broken towers next to it, containing loot. I wish I could elaborate on the mobs that spawn, but I'm kind of confused because of the upcoming nether update, and the changes it will make.

What do you guys think? Should the springs be able to mend your weapons as well?

Blocking with a shield should show the direction you're facing. (especially diagonally)

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 07:05 AM PST

This is harder for me to explain than it actually is but basically it's like when you're pulling a bow, it shows in the animation where you're gonna shoot, I suggest shields to be the same when blocking.

This obviously has some practical use since you'll be able to tell if the player is looking up or not cuz in the current one, if the player is looking up, ilt only changes its direction x and z.

It's technically possible even now but it only works when you're holding a shield and a bow at the same time which only prioritizes the bow pulling animation. So I don't see the reason for not implementing this as it wouldn't change the performance of the game at all, sorry if it's too long than actually should be and other than that, thank you for hearing me out.

    Dog sled

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 01:42 PM PST

Add a dog sled. He will have two kind of dog sled, one with wheels and the other with skis. The sled with wheels will allow you to move faster on dry ground (without snow). The sled with skis will allow you to move faster on the snow and on the ice. The more dog you have the faster it goes. To tie the dogs you will have to tie them one on the other. To make dogs run faster, you must feed them, but not too much. After a number of times you will have to take a break so that the dogs are not too tired. You can also store things on the sled but if you put too much you will be slowed down by the weight. Last point the dog will not be as controllable as the horses for example when you turn it will not be as fluid as the horses.

Show what version of the game the terrain that you are in was generated on your F3 screen.

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 05:52 PM PST

If you have a world that's existed for a long time, or for even just a few updates, it's really helpful to know when you're in new terrain, or old terrain, for example when you're out exploring. If you want to find new content that's been added, it'd be handy to know when you're in a new area and not looking at old stuff.

Pillagers pick up ominous banners that the player broke & drop from the outpost.

    Posted: 23 Jan 2020 12:07 PM PST

Sometimes, it's pretty hard to spawn a pillager captain due to the outpost's generation, and when you break a banner on the side of the tower, it won't be picked up by the pillager.

How if pillagers were able to pick up any ominous banners, regardless of where it's from?

Of course, this won't work if during a raid, one illager captain is enough. And only 8 banners available per outpost.

    Curse Of Disappearing

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 05:16 PM PST

    Evokers should be more well-rounded

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 06:48 PM PST

Evokers are great. However, I believe evokes should have more HP to make them more challenging. Instead of the usual 20, evokes should have closer to 27 to make them bulkier. To balance this, vexes should have weaker attacks, and maybe summon in less quantity. Evoker fangs should be bigger to make them harder to dodge, and there should be a projectile-type attack that the Evoker should be able to do.

An option for a smaller grid inside of highlighted blocks.

    Posted: 22 Jan 2020 05:36 PM PST

I think a 4 x 4 grid inside of the block you have highlighted would make it a lot easier for building and placing blocks like slabs and stairs. I'm not sure if this is a feature on java but it sure would make building in pocket edition much more precise
