Posted: 10 Feb 2020 04:52 AM PST The "Island" option would be available under the world types, along with Normal, Superflat, custom, etc. It would place you on a large island surrounded by water on all sides. There would be a handful of trees on the island, but other than that, its relatively empty. The world is almost completely ocean, save for some other, smaller islands. These other islands all serve a very useful purpose: They might have a single house with 2 villagers, a small pillager camp, another type of tree, a patch of crops, or some animals. These would allow you to start a village, an animal farm, a crop farm, etc. Before you have access to crops, you would be stuck fishing for food. Mining would be the same. Getting more dirt for your island can be gotten from either underground or other islands. Gravel is also underground, so you could get flint for a flint and steel to go to the nether. Strongholds would also be the same, so you could access the end. Hostile mobs would spawn normally. You could spawn in one of three ocean types: cold ocean, lukewarm ocean, or warm ocean, but there would be the other ocean types farther out in the world. Depending on what ocean an island is in, it would have different trees. Frozen oceans (glaciers) are a biome that you can find, but cannot first spawn in. Drowned would be a major problem for the player, as their spawn rate would be increased moderately. Many more ocean ruins could be found around the world. There would be the same amount of shipwrecks. A rare occurrence would be better islands with better spawns. One island would have houses and between 5-8 villagers. Another island will be a farm with 3 different crops. Another island would have bees and 2 other animals. There could also be islands with a large pillager outpost, an abandoned island with empty houses. Single islands with villagers could have 2-10 villagers and 1-7 houses. [link] [comments] |
Lava changes colors in different nether biomes like water in the overworld Posted: 09 Feb 2020 05:45 PM PST Nothing drastic, maybe a slight blueish hue in warped forest, darker red in crimson, etc. Adds just a lil bit more flavor to the new biomes [link] [comments] |
Nether Biome Idea - Red Crystal Caves Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:23 AM PST Like real life crystal caves but instead of crystal clear crystals, this is filled with a new red crystal block which acts like glass so you cannot mine it without breaking it unless you have an enchantment to do so. Also I imagine the biome other than the crystal blocks being made out of something darker coloured than netherack so that the crystals contrast nicely. This biome could also house a new rare ore; painite. Painite is a real life gemstone and considering it's called pain-ite and is a red gem it would fit this biome perfectly. I was kinda I inspired by quartz which in real life is also a crystal so it would seem fitting that the nether would have giant crystal caves. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 11:29 AM PST Since brown/red mushrooms spawn in the overworld and in Mushroom biomes, I don't see why Brown Mooshrooms require literally lightning to get to appear. Thus, I think making them transform into a Nether counterpart makes more sense. Red Mooshroom + lightning = Crimson Mooshroom Brown Mooshroom lightning = Warped Mooshroom I'd remove the Suspicious Stew feature of Brown Mooshrooms and apply it to the Fungi Mooshrooms instead. So far, this idea is a WIP as the Nether Fungi could get changed into something more OP and thus, farming these Mooshrooms could be OP but an argument against it is that Mushroom biomes are rare; unless you're spawning via a seed, you can't really rely on finding one normally. To top it off, the Nether - while hard to get to - is easier to get to than a Mushroom biome. Overall, I think this would be a great idea. Plus, naturally spawning Brown Mooshrooms would spice up a Mushroom biomes variety. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 11:48 AM PST I think it'd be neat if the Nether's lava seas had their own wildlife to catch and eat. Perhaps you could add Netherite to a fishing rod to make a Netherite Fishing Rod that can withstand the extreme temperatures of the lava, and use that to fish in the Nether. As for what you can catch, I imagine some junk items could be gold, bones, ghast tears, nether wart, and other items found in the Nether. I feel like it should be rarer items than the Overworld's fishing, but still kind of "useless". As for actual fish, I imagine the Nether would have more violent fish, like piranhas. You could catch these, and the best part is that you wouldn't have to cook them since they swim in lava! This idea's rough but it's more or less a way of proposing more discussion about fishing in the Nether with the new update. [link] [comments] |
Nether Biome Idea - Basalt Tunnels Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:10 AM PST For basalt tunnels I'm imagining something similar to overworld caves for the nether, but made completely out of basalt rather than stone. However I imagine the cave funnels to be more evenly round and to branch around like a maze almost. Perhaps they could even add in a basalt specific ore. Since the tunnels would be extremely dark, I'm imagining random little fire dotted around the cave floor but not enough to make it completely bright, just enough to make it dimpy lit occasionally. Also I feel like this would be a good spawn area for wither skeletons as it would fit the theme with their coloring. My inspiration for basalt tunnels was volcanic tunnels in real life and also that the nether is pretty bright all things considered and could do with some darkness. [link] [comments] |
Nether Biome Idea - Upside Down Forest Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:36 AM PST Can either appear as a crimson or warped forest. The forest is built from the ceiling making it appear as though it were upside down. I think it would be pretty trippy and creepy to stumble across an upside down forest so it definitely works, also maybe sap from the tree falls to the ground you're standing on and you can use it for potions. New Crossbow Bolt for the Fletching Table Posted: 10 Feb 2020 08:08 AM PST Fletching Table :Fletching Table will make crossbow bolts, the player can only build them using this table. The idea is to add new types of arrows which can only be used by crossbows. The damage as well as the speed of the arrow will be the advantage of crossbow bolts. The player will still be able to use normal arrows, but here are the two new crossbow bolts : But before : Normal arrow : Damage = 1❤ / Speed = The lightest and fastest arrow in the game. Ideal for high firing speed and a distant or very distant target. "Nothing change here" New type of Arrow :Iron Crossbow Bolt : Craft : Iron Crossbow Bolt = 1 Iron Nugget + 1 Arrow + 1 Feather Iron Crossbow Bolt : Damage = 2 ❤ / Speed = Moderately heavy arrow and moderately fast arrow in the game. The player will be able to do one more heart damage but the range, unlike a normal arrow, it will have a slightly lower speed and its range will be reduced so that its shots do not reach distant targets but it will be ideal for medium distances and its limit would be medium-distant targets distance. Ideal for Good damage,Medium Range and distant target. Craft : Golden Crossbow Bolt = 1 Golden Nugget + 1 Arrow + 1 Feather Golden Crossbow Bolt : Damage = 3 ❤ / Speed = Heavy arrow and slowest arrow in the game. The player will be able to do two more heart damage but the range, unlike a normal arrow it will have a lower speed and its range will be reduced so that its shots do not reach medium to long distances but they will be ideal for short range and its limit would be the medium range. Knowing that gold breaks quickly, once you shoot a gold crossbow bolt you can't pick it up again, it break directly. Ideal for High damage, Short Range and Medium Range. The materials used will not be expensive to make these crossbow bolts, they will make the crossbow more unique and powerful in damage with this new arrows and escpecially iron and golden nuggets can finally be a real use instead of just making ingots with them. Loot Drop Idea :The Pillager would use these iron crossbow bolt so that the player can find it more easily in the game if he eliminates one. The Piglins would use these gold crossbow bolt knowing that they have crossbow and they search or love gold ore . Any Suggestions or change ? [link] [comments] |
Idea on how to implement future ores in minecraft Posted: 10 Feb 2020 12:19 PM PST I love Netherite. It's tough to find, adds much more incentive to Nether exploration, doesn't make diamonds entirely useless because you still need diamond tools to mine it and to make it, and it's strong and cool looking. Well, unless minecraft goes into the direction of adding harder mobs, more bosses and more dimensions to explore, I don't see a point in anything STRONGER than Netherite. HOWEVER, I do see a very great opportunity! Instead of having stronger things after Netherite, any new ores should be equal to Netherite. Now, I don't mean only equal stats. I mean equal power! Netherite being from the Nether, I believe should grant you fire immunity. And say, we add a new ore called Enderite, it could be acquired the same way as Netherite! Exploring the end, mining with a diamond Pickaxe or higher, and have the same stats. However, Enderite would be a different color, maybe have a slightly different model, and instead of fire resistance, maybe since it comes from the end it could have a different effect that could help you explore the end, say, permanent slow falling so you have time to ender pearl yourself out of a pickle in the void. Or even just the effect that you don't consume ender pearls when using them, or it could make ender pearls not damage the user. The pros to this idea are: It keeps the game fresh, after diamonds you have incentive to explore both dimensions and the reward is you are stronger. PvP would not be so samey at the end game, because two guys with different armors could duke it out and while the Netherite guy won't take fire damage, the Enderite guy can tp away to heal. Different factions can use different armors in multi-player, and players could choose an armor set based on what suits their play style best. Diamonds would also have a use to craft all these things. The cons are: options are limited for more ores. They could make more end and nether ores or if a new dimension is ever added, ores for that. or even more ores in the overworld that would be only useable with diamond gear. [link] [comments] |

Bioluminescent Netherwart Forest Posted: 10 Feb 2020 01:53 PM PST The Nether: dark, dangerous, and barren. Let's Change That! With the new Nether update coming in 2020 this is the perfect time to experiment with new Nether biomes! My Idea of a perfect Nether Biome would be the Bioluminescent Netherwart Forest Biome, a variant of the Netherwart Forest. The Bioluminescence meaning that certain blocks would glow but not give surrounding areas light. This biome would be in the Neather so water could not be there and hence replaced with acid pools that glow. Things that would be bioluminescent in this biome include: XP Ore, Netherwart Fungi, and Acid pools. Instead of Netherack this floor of this biome would be Basalt, Black Nyliem and Ash Blocks. When walked on Ash Blocks will slow you down. Ash will also have the same mechanic as snow, and occasionally will "snow" ash. When stepped in, Acid will poison you, similar to how when you step in lava you burn. This biome will be relatively rare, and will be found as an island in the vast pool of the Neather's Lava. Reasons to visit this biome: · Glowing Fungi · Rare Blocks · Quick Sources of XP Blocks Found in this biome: · Acid Pools -A glowing liquid that poison a player when touched. · Ash -Like Snow but grey and when walked on causes a player to slow down. · Basalt -A Black rock similar to stone found around Acid Pools. · Black Nyliem · Glowing Fungi · XP Ore -Used to quickly gain XP I'm open to suggestions, let me know what y'all think :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 09:12 AM PST In the Nether, Netherrack/Soul Soil/Nylium blocks with a hole in them have a chance to appear, If the user steps on one of these blocks, A plume of Lava will erupt, Dealing 3 hearts of damage to the player and launching them up 5-7 blocks in the air. Posted: 10 Feb 2020 05:55 AM PST Minecraft is not hard in hard difficulty, why not a new difficulty for pro players with more powerful mobs like: Zombie with armor always, Skeleton with chain mail and enchanted bow always, charged creepers always etc ... For the Hardcore Mode the player could choose the option Extreme Hardcore for play the Expert Mode in Hardcore Mode. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 12:45 PM PST It's exciting to have a variety of furnace type blocks, but with the new 1.16 snapshots I think there is an opportunity to make the Blast Furnace play a larger part in the game. My idea is for the Blast furnace UI to have two "smelting" slots on top, allowing the user to either smelt two times the ore as usual, or two different ore types. This would emphasize the faster smelting capability and also allow the creation of 'alloys'. Most notably, the new material netherite is an alloy of netherite scraps and gold, and I think instead of just putting the two together on a crafting bench, it'd be interesting to have to smelt the two together. The name could even be changed to 'Ancient Alloy' to reflect the process of creating the material. Allowing players to create alloys also easily adds other metals and armor types to the game. For example, iron and coal creating steel would be an obvious addition. Having pure iron armor and tools is a little strange, as even most medival plate armor and tools were made of steel since it's more durable. Requiring steel for armor/tools could also help even out the pace of player progression, keeping players from immediately rushing to getting diamonds until they have enough iron and coal to make a blast furnace. The current iron armors/tools/block could be replaced by steel, while iron blocks and related items could take on a darker grey coloring more realistic to the actual material (like how anvils are almost black). The texture changes could also help fix the issue of people wanting to use the netherite block texture when it's so difficult to collect, giving the texture to iron blocks instead would make it a lot more feasible to build with. Another potential alloy could be electrum, a mixture of gold and silver. While this would require a new ore type, silver could have other uses of its own, perhaps something to do with enchanting/magic because of it's connections in folklore. Electrum was commonly used for coins, and could similarly be crafted into the trading item for the piglins that are going to be added in the future. Having the hoglins trade for a gold based item would make sense, considering that zombie pigmen drop gold already. [link] [comments] |
Crouch clicking a bed should let you sleep in it, but not set your respawn point. Posted: 10 Feb 2020 02:43 PM PST This effectively allows you to go exploring and avoid phantoms while maintaining your original spawn point in your bed at base. [link] [comments] |
Nether Biome Idea - Magma Field Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:19 AM PST So this one is pretty basic. Similarly to how on the overworld, plains are just swaths of land with the ocasional pond of water, I'm imagining magma fields to be swaths of magma with occasional lava ponds. I also imagine this to be a great spawn point for magma cubes. For a variation of this there could also be Spikey Magma Fields, where just like the ice spike biome there are spikes dotted around the magma field. However instead of ice spikes I'm envisioning spikes of obsidian. I was kinda inspired with this because you actually don't see naturally spawning obsidian in the nether even though it seems like a good fitting block aesthetically. [link] [comments] |
Piglin Shaman, enchanting in the Nether Posted: 10 Feb 2020 03:34 PM PST Since the Nether is now becoming more liveable, even getting a new armor tier, I realized, among other things, that there is no way of getting enchantments in the Nether at all. Which you would definitely need if you were doing a Nether only run. Here's a quick mockup I did of it. That's where Piglin Shamans come in. They would be a Piglin variant also found in the bastions, but only one or two at best. Like regular Piglins, you would be able to barter with them with gold, but instead of giving you items, you would give it an item of your choosing for it to randomly enchant it and then throw it back. The more gold they get, the better the enchantments they give could be, only accepting a maximum of 3 blocks at a time or so. This way, we could get a way to enchant in the Nether and have better living conditions in it without removing much of the difficulty because of the randomness. Overall, a way to enchant in the Nether without the need for overworld materials would be nice. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 07:01 AM PST For the wyvern I'm sort of imagining small dragons perhaps a similar size to a ghast. Rarer than ghasts. They can swoop down and pick you up off the ground and throw you wherever. I think this would ge cool because as far as I know, no mob actually interacts directly as in picking you up. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 06:58 AM PST Large and long serpent like beings that live withim the seas of lava in the nether. They periodically jump out like majestic dolphins. I'm kinda seeing something that maybe looks like the pokemon Onyx or Garados but a hell fire version of that. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 12:25 PM PST There's Flint, Iron,Gold and Diamond. Each adding a speed boost to your horse. Flint being 10%, Iron 15%, Gold 20% and finally Diamond at 30%. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 10:59 AM PST The blocklayer would be a tool that would lay a random block from your hotbar or inventory, this would be extremely helpful for building as currently it takes a while to randomize blocks for paths and other stuff. This could be a creative only toolor be something that can be crafted in survival. It would come in gold, iron, and diamond. iron would place from your hotbar, gold would place from your entire inventory including your hotbar, and diamond would place from only your inventory and not your hotbar. If you seperate a stack of a block into multiple slots there will be a higher chance of it placing that block. Please tell me what you think! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 03:47 PM PST After the rains finish sometimes a rainbow will spawn nearby you. They will last for around a minute or two, but if you get to the end of one before it disappears you can find a chest filled with gold! [link] [comments] |
An Underground Cavern Layer Under The Default Caves. Posted: 10 Feb 2020 03:46 PM PST Caverns:A new large cavern region would be located under normal cave generation. The two layers would be separated by a new type of block that can only be broken by a certain level of pickaxe. Normal Cave Layer: The normal cave layer would be like what we have currently and would still act as a way for the player to progress through the different levels of tools/armor. Nothing would necessarily need to change with the top layer of cave generation. Cavern Region: The cavern region located under the separating blocks and normal caves would be filled with giant, open, and adventurous caverns. After the player has acquired the certain level of pickaxe required to break through the layer of separation blocks they would have access to these caverns. This region would be very dangerous for the player to explore in. The caverns are filled with a fair amount of ores and loot, along with new and dangerous hostile mobs. The caves would be also filled with new structures; possibly including old cave ruins, bigger mine shafts, old platforms/bridges that cross over large ravines and/or cliffs. New Cave Biome Suggestions:
Misc:
Possible Problems:
Summary: This is just one of my suggestions what I would think to be interesting, if you have anything to add including problems and criticisms, feel free to put them in the comments. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Feb 2020 01:20 PM PST Pitchforks are a tool used to destroy certain block types more efficiently. Much like shears, they only come in one variety--iron. -They would be crafted with sticks and iron as such. -They would be the optimal tool for the following blocks: Nether Wart Block, Warped Wart Block, Kelp Block, Hay Bales. (If there are others which fit, please mention in the comments!) -They would have a durability of 258, much like shears -Their texture could be something like this. I mostly thought of this thinking of how annoying it will be to harvest Nether Wart Blocks and Warped Wart Blocks from the new Crimson and Warped trees, as this could be the tool of choice for quickly breaking them and other blocks. It also kinda fits with the theme of the Nether Update, symbolically. [link] [comments] |
(20W06A) Ancient Debris Needs a Sound Re-Work, Sounds Fickle (Official Feedback Link Included) Posted: 10 Feb 2020 03:32 PM PST Ancient Debris currently sounds crumbly and almost like dirt as you mine it. I know that its ancient but the idea of its netherite yield is that this is one very tough material. It has lasted for ages under intense heat and yields some of the strongest material in the game. It should sound stronger, harder, unyielding and more metallic as you mine it. [link] [comments] |
