Through the years we have made many friends with whom we still talk to on a day to day basis. We make use of background plugins to connect our discord with in-game chat and log block to ensure the player's time spent on the server is protected. Live Map We do not use live maps like most servers. We're running Alsedge as a place for people to chill out and have fun in a hermitcraft-light experience (IE we are not pro minecrafters, anyone welcome) and are aiming to have fun and build a community of regular players. We mostly play in the evenings EST and invite all others who are interested and active players! Currently hosted on realms but if interest is great enough I will happily migrate to a standalone server to increase the number of concurrent active users. Server Features
Plans Players spawn at the Alsedge Inn where they can get a starter kit of iron items and some free food from the kitchen. There is a central 'town' surrounding a mountain where we are building a synthetic village with a number of starter farms for any new people to get an easy start. Outside of the town a ring of shops that players can run for one-another. Shops are not restricting the shops in any way, and will allow the server market to dictate price of items. Additionally we have a Colosseum where players are permitted to PVP with a global keep inventory so they don't lose anything. Creative is used sparingly to set up some nice-to-haves such as a teleporter from your base to the spawn (and back). There's also an entity teleporter nearby if you want to transplant a few starting animals to your base (must be setup by an admin in creative). Rules

We're a small near-vanilla survival server on the latest release. In order to show you what kind of server we are, Here's a small album of some of the builds done by us over the last few months. The server is hosted in Sydney, Australia, though we have members from pretty much all over the globe. The server is very inconsistent with the player count because of this. Sometimes we will go hours with nobody on and sometimes we will have 8 people on for a majority of the night. Server activity will mostly depend on what timezone you come from. The server comes with some game altering data packs. If you want a full list, feel free to message me and ask but the crazier ones are the customisable armor stand books, Custom mob heads, and a home teleport (used for easier access to the shopping area). If you're after a long term server, definitely consider us. We will be only resetting the nether during the 1.16 nether update with no server resets planned for the immediate future. We are whitelisted, but it's just a precaution to help control growth of the player base. No applications - just ask to be added! Trade with the shopkeeper villagers at spawn, or with other players using the simple player shop signs. No expectations, just play how you like; team up with friends, explore, or just noodle around on your own plot of land. We have grief prevention land claiming, warps, player-to-player TP's, and every player gets five sethomes with no rank-ups required. We are currently looking to expand our player base to make the server a bit more lively and to play with others. The server is about 1 year old but we are still far from done. The server is 99,9% vanilla, no mods, only a small datapack to allow people to sleep if others are AFK, and the more heads datapack from Hermitcraft, which allows most monsters to drop their head, though the chances are slim. We have a few plugins but these are only to keep logs and backups in case anyone griefs or steals. All your stuff is safe here, and we will of course repair all damage and return stolen items should anything happen. As a server we can promise 99,9% uptime and minimal amounts of lag. We also pride ourselves on our community which is always helpful and nice towards old and new. We try to help each other out and work together as much as possible. I, as the owner, have run countless servers before and i have many years of experience with it. I've also played on countless servers that was, eventually, shut down for whatever reason. I know the feeling of losing the ability to play on a server you've worked on for very long, and for that reason I can promise you, the player, a steady server that won't go down for any unexpected reason. We are hoping to run it for at least 1-2 years, and when the day comes for the server to shut down, whether it be 2 or 10 years, we will give out the world to everyone that wishes it so that their progress is never lost. While minimal, our core features re-imagine the traditional notions of SMP, while adding a pinch of realism and making the open world seem more like an actual "open world". Thankfully, we've got no ranks, no essentials, and no unnecessary plugins. Other than our core features it's pure vanilla. 🙏 Our 3 core features include: RANDOM SPAWN ✅When you join for the first time you'll spawn in a random location in the world. This can be anywhere from +29,999,981 to -29,999,981 x/z. When you die you'll also respawn in another random location in the world, unless of course you've slept in a bed. So try not to die without a bed! Players don't have to worry about being found or griefed by others if they stay put. Other players are very likely many millions of blocks away. NO COORDINATES ✅The debug screen (F3) info is greatly reduced, and your XYZ coordinates aren't displayed. Neither you nor anyone else knows where you are. Having no coordinates makes people lose their bearing on the world. Players will have to rely on maps, compasses, landmarks, and their sense of direction in order to navigate. RAT PORTALS ✅As is, there'd be no feasible way for players to find one another, therefore we've introduced Rat Portals. Based off SnowGear's Color Portals, these are buildable structures similar to Nether portals, which allow players to connect one distant location to another. Originally launched as a redstone friendly server (still is), we do not use plugins like Clearlagg and instead rely on hardware and software optimizations to give you the closest you'll ever get to a single player experience in an online server. We will never nerf your view distance, chunk load speeds, or delete your entities. If you can do it in single player, you can do it here. The server runs on modern, overclocked hardware with a focus of quality over quantity, instead of nerfing game mechanics to make room for more players we instead nerf the player cap to make room for better mechanics and less build limits. We have a much higher view distance than most servers, as well as high mob tracking and activation ranges. And speaking of mobs, we don't nerf that either. Expect a challenge. This is Semi-Vanilla. You can claim land, set up to 3 home teleport points and other nifty basics like player teleports, random teleports and death coordinates. Other than that, things are pretty vanilla. The server also sports a fancy anti-cheat that's been thoroughly tweaked for efficiency, as well as an auto-mute featuring an extensive banned-word list for semi-family friendly fun. Spawners are mineable, by the way. This is Survival multiplayer set to hard difficulty, there is no in-game economy or ranking system. Be prepared to survive the old fashioned way. Rules: 1. We are also still working on the lobby to make it better so right now it looks empty. All server members are adults with adult jobs, meaning things get done but not everyone is online 24/7. We don't expect you to be either, so no pressure! :) So far we have a community housing for new players joining the server to use until they have their own home (you can choose not to use it of course), multiple plots ready for starter homes, a shopping district (new shops are welcomed), and a burgeoning minigame area. Player bases and community areas are generally linked with nether tunnels. Players are free to build their own stuff and/or help with the community areas. It is important to us to provide a place where all players can have a good experience. Player suggestions and bigger community decisions are welcome, and are often voted on in the discord chat. Discord is mainly used in text form. Joining discord is required, though active participation is not. It's the easiest way to get to know each others!
