You should burn blue when you step on soul fire Posted: 17 Jun 2020 02:54 PM PDT After I found out you burn red when you step on soul fire, I realized it makes literally 0 sense at all, you should burn blue on it for consistency's sake. [link] [comments] |
A new gamerule for toggling suffocation damage Posted: 17 Jun 2020 03:51 AM PDT We alreadly have FireDamage, DrowningDamage and FalDamage gamerules, which toggle wherther or not you take damage from these sources. I think it would be nice if we also has SuffocationDamage gamerule, that would toggle, well, suffocation damage. This, as well as the rest of these gamerules, would be useful for mapmakers. Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:23 PM PDT Basically its for mapmakers that might want faster or slower liquids. It could be a 5 for lava and 30 for water So the format is /gamerule Lavaspeed (Number) Edit: changed the way value works [link] [comments] |
Recipe Change for Tipped Arrows (Java) Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:08 AM PDT In Minecraft Java Edition, crafting tipped arrows requires Lingering Potions which is brewed from Dragon's Breath Bottles. Dragon's Breath bottles in turn are collected from the Ender Dragon. This obviously locks tipped arrows from being crafted until end game where they are almost useless and quite difficult to come by. My suggestion is to change the recipe for tipped arrows so they can be more accessible and not locked until end game. I can see 2 simple ways of accomplishing this:
There could be more ways to implement a friendly crafting recipe for tipped arrows, but the main point should be to not lock craftable tipped arrows until end game. I hope other people have the same love for tipped arrows as I do EDIT: There is also a post on the feedback site suggesting a change similar to this post. Show it some love [link] [comments] |
The Basalt Sponge: A Nether Alternative Posted: 17 Jun 2020 04:33 AM PDT Clearing out lava in the Nether is a nearly impossible, grueling task. The sponge solves this issue for water but there is no Nether equivalent. Introducing the basalt sponge. Crafted with one sponge surrounded by eight basalt. The basalt sponge when placed in a lava source will have the same effect as a normal sponge in water. After absorbing the lava the basalt sponge is replaced with a molten basalt sponge. The molten basalt sponge hurts you when you stand on it (like a manga block) and acts as a dim light source. In order to turn the molten basalt sponge back into a normal basalt sponge you just right click it with a bucket of water in the overworld. This will give off black smoke and make the lava hissing sound as it turns back into a normal basalt sponge. If you want to turn your basalt sponge back into a normal yellow sponge you can do so with a stone cutter. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 07:45 AM PDT Only a small idea. It's essentially just a destroyed/collapsed version of the regular Pillager Outpost. The bottom half would still be standing but the top half would be destroyed and instead be crumpled around the ground. They'd still be as frequent as the normal Outposts but only have fewer Pillagers around or a heavily damaged Iron Golem indicating that either of the 2 might have happened:

Prevent Mooshrooms from being turned into cows Posted: 17 Jun 2020 10:47 AM PDT Imagine this: you're on a server, you travel thousands of blocks to bring Mooshrooms to your base, some jerk comes by and shears them, bam, no more Mooshrooms. My solution is to have them regrow their mushrooms the same way sheep can regrow wool, preventing them from being turned into cows while also allowing for easy mushroom farming! [link] [comments] |
Shift + middle-clicking on a block should give you the preferred tool for mining it Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:08 PM PDT This idea is pretty self-explanatory, and would obviously only work if you have its preferred tool in your inventory. I think it would save a lot of time for players. Especially with the introduction of the hoe as useful for mining many types of blocks, I find myself constantly switching tools in and out of my hotbar and it's often quite a hassle. I'm not 100% sure if the shift button is the best button for it, but I would definitely like to see this feature in the game. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 11:42 AM PDT You can carve pumpkin several times to pick an emotion you want. Also, character of golems depends on it. For example, If pumpkin smiles, golem becomes more kind and punch mobs horisontally, that doesnt deal fall damage and just increases distantion between mob and golem. [link] [comments] |

You can interact with a pig while crouching to take its saddle Posted: 17 Jun 2020 02:13 PM PDT I'm pretty sure we've all had this happen. We go to ride a pig, but once we do the saddle is then stuck on it and can only be reobtained by killing the poor thing. Like many different interactions when crouching, if you interact with a pig with an empty hand while crouching, instead of riding it, the saddle is taken off of it and placed in your hand. In order to prevent trolling, you cannot remove a pig's saddle if a player is riding the pig currently. This would also apply in the same way to striders. However one change is that for naturally spawning striders (if one spawns with a zombie piglin riding it it will spawn with a saddle) can't have their saddle removed from them to prevent stealing natural ones. Ready Your Shovels Pt.2 - Continuing the Dirt Cave Update with Ants, Truffles and More! Posted: 17 Jun 2020 08:52 AM PDT Attention! Spread the word and read about it! The Minecraft Cave Update is here, and it's made out of Dirt!🐜MINECRAFT: Ready Your ShovelsIn the First Ready Your Shovels post, we created a new type of cave world in Minecraft. A rather tame environment made of tough dirt and riches you can shovel from the walls. A unique take on a cave update that gives players that are new to a world, or new to the game, a warm welcome to the mining and spelunking wing of Minecraft. In this post, we're going to look at a couple of new mobs, new places to explore, and a few mechanics that will make exploring this early game area all the more enjoyable. And now, without further ado, here is the update. Changelog
Extras🎶 New Music Disc - Colly by AxoladdyWhen exploring some campsites or digging into the Ant Colony's shrine, you're likely to come across a chest containing a new music disk named Colly. I spent a lot of time working on this track, trying to get the same aesthetic as the other music disks in Minecraft. I hope you like it! 💡 Subreddit DiscordSpecial thanks to the regulars at MCS for all of the support. I use the discord to show off ideas whenever I'm working on an update sized post like this. We're a very chill community full of creative minds and its fun to talk about suggestions from the sub and brainstorm new ideas. If you're interested, come vibe with us! And that was Ready Your Shovels Pt.2! Special thanks to everyone who got involved in the brainstorming on Minecraft Suggestion's Discord and stuck by me and this community for this long! I've been working on ideas for this post for about eight months now. I've been that patient with this project to make sure that I'm building the best image of a Minecraft Update that I possibly can, even though it's purely a passion project. I still have ideas left for this update though, but maybe I'll come back to Ready Your Shovels some other time. But for now, Axo needs to relaxo. Thanks for reading everyone. I hope you enjoyed it! The Scythe - An Unique Weapon From the Nether Posted: 17 Jun 2020 05:45 PM PDT The trident is one of the most fun Minecraft weapons. It can be used in both melee and ranged combat, let you fly when it's raining, and summon lightning. One of the things that makes it so special is that it's uncraftable. We need more of these kinds of weapons, and today, I'm proposing one for the nether - the scythe. LooksThe scythe would be a dark, grayish-blue weapon, giving off the same feeling of a soulsand valley. Its general shape would be that of a hoe, but the blade would be longer and more curved. ObtainingThere are two ways that I think this weapon could be added. There is the boring way - give it to wither skeletons. The stone sword does feel like a placeholder, and a scythe fits the theme well. A more interesting way would be some form of a new mob in the soulsand valley. It could either be some kind of scary humanoid creature, or a beast that drops a scythe blade. This weapon would be about as rare of a drop as a wither skeleton skull, making it a late-game item. UseThe scythe, when left-clicking, would be similar to the sword. It would also have the sweeping edge ability but would attack slightly faster, and do less damage. One interesting thing about the scythe is that it wouldn't do any knockback, making it useful for tight situations. EnchantsThis weapon would be compatible with sharpness and sweeping edge. However, it would also have unique enchantments: Dragging - I-II Dragging would do the reverse of knockback - it would pull enemies towards you. Wither's Tip - I-II This enchantment would apply the wither effect for a few seconds. It would accomplish the same thing as fire aspect on the sword, but be more effective in the nether. Stifling - I-V The idea of stifling is that it muffles the sound of the scythe, with the maximum making it completely silent. This could be useful in multiplayer, where you could take a few hits before your opponent notices. This would also be useful in singleplayer. Attacking neutral mobs would have a lower chance of angering them, and attacking any mobs while invisible would decrease the chance of them noticing you. Gleaning - I-III This enchantment would increase the XP dropped from mobs, similar to Looting or Fortune. Final WordsThe scythe would be a great reason to go to the more dangerous parts of the nether, be it the soulsand valleys or nether fortresses. It would make farming XP in the late game less of a pain, and allow for some interesting new PVP and PVE interactions. Overall, I think the scythe will add a bit more fun to the game. Termite Potion (placeholder name) Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:52 PM PDT With Termites promised at some point in the future, I thought of a potion idea that would complement them nicely. This potion, to emulate their destructive feeding habits (however they end up being represented in-game), would grant the player both haste and hunger. This dual-effect potion would give Potion of the Turtle Master a companion and the accompanying hunger effect would ensure that the potion does not greatly diminish the use of beacons. Ideally it'd be brewed with an item dropped or produced by the Termite mob. I'd be more specific, but I might already be venturing beyond what we know about the planned mob. And yes, haste potions are an FPS item, but I ran this by Mince_rafter a while ago, it passes. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] |
Giving a totem of undying to a zombie villager should be an alternate method of curing them. Posted: 17 Jun 2020 07:39 AM PDT It just makes sense from a logical standpoint. It would also be cool to use the totems you obtained while protecting a village from a raid to cure more villagers [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 10:09 AM PDT The 1.16 update looks good, but it doesnt exactly add a lot of new biomes. So here is one: The "Lava River" (needs better name. please comment if you have one) is a biome that spawns in the nether. It can go through several biomes, and eventually leads out to the lava ocean (default lava ocean). The beaches on both sides of the river have soul sand. New Plant: "Magma Reeds" Magma Reeds are plants that grow on the soul sand in Lava River Biomes. They can be broken and will drop 1 magma reed. OR, they can be right clicked in order to harvest Magma Reed Seeds. Enough seeds can be crafted into Blaze Powder. Each plant will drop roughly 1-3 seeds each. The seeds can be planted in order to grow them in your own base. (only in the nether will they grow). The Reeds as an item can be crafted into blaze rods, but breaking them will not drop seeds, so you can not replant. New Creature: Lavster. "Lavsters" are a nether creature. Their name is a combo of the word Lava and Lobster. They have 8 legs, and pincers, and are roughly 1 block in length, half a block in width, and half a block in height. They will not attack unless attacked, or Magma Reeds are harvested or broken near them. They drop Raw Lavster Meat, which can be cooked to restore 3 food points. There is also a rare chance (1 out of 1000) that it will drop a Netherite Scrap. They can be tamed if you give give them in between 1-3 netherite scrap. Once tamed, they can be brought back to the overworld as a pet. If not tamed, they will die in the overworld. They can also swim through lava. Their use for being tamed is that they will retrive dropped items nearby (within about 10 blocks) that fall into lava. So you dont have to swim into lava to get your dropped netherite armor and tools back. they can not be bred. [link] [comments] |

Add "Wither Skeletons spawning in Soul Sand Valleys" to the FPS List Posted: 17 Jun 2020 09:02 AM PDT Wither skeletons spawning in SSVs is something suggested a lot and should be added to the FPS List. Wither skeletons are part of nether fortresses, which would anyways mean they would already be prohibited from spawning elsewhere. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 02:40 PM PDT In this idea, flint and steels can be enchantable with the silk touch enchantment. This flint and steel's flame would be white/or a different one. If you blow a tnt with this flint and steel, actually I have four different ideas for that: 1-When it's exploded, the blocks that needs a silk touch tool (glass, bookshelf, etc.) would drop too. This would be useful for destroying an old build of yours, with still getting the glasses. 2-When it's exploded, all blocks would drop. This would be useful for destroying an old build of yours, too. 3-When it's exploded, not a single block would be destroyed. This would be useful for pranking your friends and map makers. 4-When it's exploded, not a single block would be destroyed and, it wouldn't damage anything (mobs, items, players, etc.) . Basically, this is just an harmless one. This would be useful for map makers and pranking, too. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:20 PM PDT Well, we all know loading screens in Minecraft are very boring, just a dirt background showing you what the game is doing. I would be great that instead of that boring background there were some splashes that showed things related to the game while a world loads, or any other thing that makes the loading screen better, like bedrock edition which has some tips, a loading bar and a background. Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:29 PM PDT So I know the title sounds sorta weird, but basically just a few biomes similar to what you would find in California and neighboring states, I think this would be good just because most of the biomes seem more European or just Desert and this would just add a little more variety. Some of these could even be variants of already existing biomes. I might also think of some special structures for these if people actually like this idea. Steep Mountains: Like normal mountains, except sometimes they're made of granite, or sandstone. They are pretty tall and steep, with not as steep grounds leading up to them. These will have snow, but not as much as normal mountains, even at the same Y levels. They have normal precipitation. Meadow: Found in between Steep Mountain Biomes. These are like plains, but have a much higher Y level. They have terrain that can go from flat to slightly hilly, and are absolutely covered in flowers and tall grass, and even double tall grass. Normal Plains mobs do spawn here, but not as often. They have normal precipitation. Chaparral; Found near Steep Mountains. they are like Savannas, but don't have acacia trees, only the occasional Oak tree. They are also pretty steep sometimes. They have no precipitation. Has small shrubs in it. And also leaves on the ground Riparian: Basically rivers, but only 1-4 Blocks wide, and 1-2 deep. These are also made in such a way that the water is flowing in most parts rather than being a source block. Normal Precipitation. Klamath Mountains: (Would be called something different) These are like steep mountains, except at the bottom of them there are small lakes, with gravel and cobblestone around them. Normal Precipitation. Dense Mega Tagia: Found on the coasts. I know you aren't allowed to suggest Redwood Forests, but it would not be a Redwood Biome, just a Variant of the Mega Taiga with much less space between trees, kind of like a dark oak forest version of the mega Taiga. Normal precipitation, but you wont really see much rain if you're under all the leaves. Dry Lakes. They have Savanna colored grass, but it still rains there. There are some Riparians and Lakes here, but some of them have underground areas but have 1 block of grass over them, making them partially be covered. They are still mostly exposed to the air though. These are based off the Shasta Valley. Mangrove. I know these aren't known for existing on the west coast, but we do have similar stuff in california. These are like swamps, but have a less dark green color. So theres these swamp-like lakes that are slightly deeper, with oak and birch trees in them. Some of these trees are actually in the water, with multiple more logs sticking into the ground, almost as if the trees had giant roots sticking in the ground. So that was a list of the biomes, tell me in the comments if you think they should be changed. Edit: added a thing [link] [comments] |

Tridents with loyalty thrown from the off hand should to the off hand Posted: 16 Jun 2020 09:42 PM PDT This feature makes sense and would be useful in PVP because you can use a trident while still attacking with a sword, and when taking on an ocean monument because a trident with impaling five and a netherite sharpness V sword you can kill a guardian in one hit but the trident will return to an open inventory slot. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:06 PM PDT I think mobs like zombie & skeleton should have variants based on biomes like villagers and not just different mobs like zombie-husk-drowned. It'd be cool to have a jungle zombie, swamp zombie and more. This can be applied to a lot of mobs and come in a special "variants" update. [link] [comments] |
