    New Nether biome- Glowstone chasm

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 09:10 AM PDT

Concept image here (sorry for the poor quality, my photoshop expired)

The new nether update did a lot to make the new nether more interesting with many new biomes to explore. The problem is that there are all just as commonly found and there is no need to explore aside from areas around spawn to find the majority of things the nether has to offer. This is where the glowstone chasm comes into play as a biome with a much lower percentage chance of generating than the rest.

    Biome overview.

    • The biome is very similar to the crimson forest biome but with a yellow colour pallet
    • The key difference is that everything in the biome glows: the tress, nylium, and plants all emit light
    • The biome has no mobs aside from blazes (perfect for blaze hunting)
    • Glowstone clusters are twice as common in the biome

    Flora and terrain

    • Glistening nylium: behaves like normal nyluim but emits a light level of 7
    • Golden vines: work the same way as twisting vines but can emit a light level of 10 and smelted into yellow dye.
    • Warped roots and sprouts: you probably already get the idea, they emit a light level of 7
    • Glowstone out-crops consisting of a pyramid of glowstone blocks will spawn on the ground
    • Huge glowing fungus trees will spawn

    Special items

    • Glowing wood: can be crafted from the glowing fungus tree stems, the wood will not emit a glow and will have a bright yellow color to it and the full set of customizations (stairs, slabs, doors etc)
    • Starlight fruit: It will have a 40% chance of generating on the side of a glowing fungus tree like a cocoa bean and when eaten will regenerate 2.5 hunger.
    • Potion of luminance: made from putting a starlight fruit into a brewing stand, it will make the player emit a 15 light level around themselves when walking. Works as a cheaper alternative for night vision.

If you liked it please vote for it on the feedback page here and if you have criticisms leave them in the comments. Thanks!

Allow fences, walls, iron bars and glass panels to connect with string.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 08:37 AM PDT

Allow fences, walls, iron bars and glass panels to connect with string.

(I know it seems weird to use string, but read my reasons and maybe you will agree with me)

Currently, the string already influences the shape of walls if it is placed on top. So, the idea would be to take that existing mechanic a little further, making the sides of these blocks also be affected by the string (this mechanic is almost in the game, so it's not really a very big change)

In addition, the string is already used in building to: stop the growth of plants, make FLOATING blocks (like carpets, anvils). So, it is already used to do very strange and practical things.

I already know about the existence of the Debug stick (on many occasions I have found the need to use it on walls, fences and others to add details in my buildings) but I don't like to use it in my survival world and, when I use it, the misplacement of a single block can cause an update and return all those blocks to their original state, Not very practical...

So I suggest that fences, walls, iron bars and glass panels should be able to connect with string (an almost invisible block already used by the builder community), which will allow us to do this in vanilla survival and in a more consistent, easy and fast way.

Some things that could be done with this idea: (first part of the screenshot shows how it would look with string, second I replace the string with glass so you know where it was and Third how it looks without this idea)

    Straight lines

    Curve lines

    VERTICAL SLABS (well,kind of)

I can't think of anything for fences, so... broken fence?

I tried to put the most important examples (except for the fence), but a lot of small details could be done with this.

I think that if we are not allowed to change the shape of these blocks easily, a very interesting game mechanic will be wasted.

    More food!

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 06:55 AM PDT

There are so many possibilities for food with the current items! Chocolate cake, sweet berry pie, etc. I think along with having more food, you should have to "cook" certain items like a cake in the furnace.

Dogs should drop dog collars upon death to remember them when they die

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 06:17 PM PDT

When your pet dog (wolf) dies, it should drop a dog's collar as a token of remembering your lost pet when they die. It should have no use other than saying "[Name]'s Collar" It would be the color of the dogs collar when it was alive and have they're name that they were given with a name tag or if they weren't named, should just say Wolf's Collar. This could help people remember their beloved pet and would be a good addition to dog tombstones when they die.

Add the north star(I hope I wrote that correctly)(northern star maybe??)

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 01:13 PM PDT

Just a simple addition that makes the game a little cuter imo.

you should be able to hang heads from chains.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 12:25 PM PDT

player heads, mob heads, etc. etc. all kinds of heads. i think you should be able to connect chains and heads in the same way you can with lanterns. if you were to try the two would not connect and i think its a really good idea for the two to be able to connect in such a way. it would be good for building, detailing, medieval style building, etc. i really think this should be a thing.

Make animals pathfind to water if they are on fire.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 02:02 PM PDT

Right now if an animal gets catched on fire the animal doesn't even bother it, wich in my opinion is a bit weird. So my idea is if animals get catched on fire that they will try and pathfind to water or rain.

Also if a animal catches fire but there's no water nearby, they will just run around like crazy. Also if a player puts an animal on fire without water nearby, it will try to run away from the player.

    New Mob Attribute: PeacefulDespawn

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 06:17 AM PDT

An attribute that determines if a mob will despawn in peaceful mode. By default it's set to false for the enderdragon and peaceful mobs but with commands you can determine if any mob despawns in peaceful mode.

    Hedgehogs

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 07:22 AM PDT

Ok, hear me out, what if Hedgehogs were added to Minecraft. They would spawn in plains or maybe oak forests, and every now and again they would drop a spine, this could be used to craft a "spine sword" that would inflict lasting damage. Also you could tame them with hedgehog food that would be made out of beetles caterpillars and worms? (Possible new mobs as well???) so uh yeah that's my suggestion.

Every two times you defeat The Ender Dragon a cage spawns on a tower.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 01:30 PM PDT

You can defeat the ender dragon 20 times. There are 10 towers. I think a new cage should spawn on a tower every 2 times that you kill the dragon.

Add a place in the Minecraft Launcher where the time you have played is shown.

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 10:54 AM PDT

It is something quite simple but I would like very much if they added, I would give you an idea of the time you have dedicated to the game

You can make more detailed carpets by replacing banners with carpet in a loom!

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 01:04 PM PDT

I think everyone has probably, at some point, wished they could have more detailed carpets. Well now you can! This would allow for more intricate and carpet and floor designs, without the need for custom maps, plugins, or mods. The editing process is exactly the same as with banners, but on a carpet instead. I think this could enable people to make some pretty unique and interesting carpet designs.

A structure vote every Minecon Live event

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 03:55 PM PDT

The biome vote every Minecon event is a great idea to make biomes better. This also should happen to structures as some of them became old and boring like dungeons and jungle temples. some other structures are just useless or derelict like desert wells and igloos. Even some big structures are so hard to find but not rewarding like woodland mansions. This vote would be exactly like the biome vote. Mojang pick up three structures and let the community vote for whatever structure they want during the event, then the winning structure will have a good revamp in the next update.

    [Biome] Sunken Lakes

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 03:33 PM PDT

    [Biome] Sunken Lakes

I do not know if this has been suggested before or not however I could not find anything when I searched so here goes.

When creating a Minecraft world there is the option to set the world type to 'Caves', which is essentially the Nether. On its own this world type is not much use for a survival play through due to the lack of trees and the cavern roof plunging you into eternal night.

But the terrain generation itself is really very nice I feel. It is unlike anything we have in the Overworld at present and without the Nether's block palate it also does not resemble the Nether in my opinion.

    https://preview.redd.it/qwnzzcgr1uh51.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=db00db760476027bdb969880647d96d51237def8

So I would like to suggest that a new biome is added to the Overworld using the Nether's terrain generation as its inspiration, only removing the cavern ceiling and correcting some of the areas where the Nether's terrain does not translate well (A lot of the landmasses are unconnected below the water level).

Due to the water level starting at roughly y=32 as compared to the Oceans and Rivers, which I believe start at around y=63, this biome type would need to be completely landlocked. The biome could be a neutral biome type, similar to hills, and I could see it working well with biomes such as normal Forest, the Dark Oak Forest, the Bamboo Jungle or the Badlands (Mesa).

    Thank you for your consideration.

    We need compressed dirt blocks

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 11:09 AM PDT

If sand has so much variation why can't dirt? Why don't we take Dirt Houses to the next level and make dirt a viable building material?

    Here is what I suggest:

    • A compressed dirt, crafted using 4 blocks of regular dirt. It is a bit smoother than the Dirt.

    • A smooth compressed dirt, crafted by baking compressed dirt in a furnace. It is smoother than the previous one.

    • And other variations similar to sandstone.

Apart from that, dirt bricks and blocks would be cool as well.

    New biome: The Sandy Forest

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 12:21 PM PDT

First: No, this is not an oasis in the middle of the desert, don't go "FPS list" on me!

Now, the Sandy Forest would be very similar to the Oak Forest, sharing the same ground block, terrain generation and trees. But with some elements from deserts: sand, cactuses, dead bushes, lamas and husks. Fertalized Dirt, Pine Trees and Pumpkins would also come there... Water and flowers would be very rare tho.

They would appear next to desert biomes, and they could have a red sand variant if next to mesa biomes. And maaaayybe a birch tree variant too?

Villages here would come as a mixture of the plains and desert villages... Desert Temples wouldn't spawn tho, but Desert Wells would (idk, they would fit?).

This biome wouldn't be groundbreaking and would just be some new little place to explore...

Before killing the ender dragon, enderman spawn rates should be higher and they should spawn more frequently

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 09:59 AM PDT

And after killing the ender dragon, enderman spawn rates should be lower but not low enough to not find any. This would give a sense of actually having a significant effect on the game when you kill the ender dragon.

    Clay desert

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 10:49 AM PDT

Clay has always been pretty tedious to gather in large quantities. The fact that it's pretty rare and generates underwater kinda locks building large brick buildings behind long exploring and hours of digging. Clay deserts could fix the problem. The biome would be as rare as the mesa biome, and would look like a desert with a surface consisting of a mixture of sand and clay, being the only place where clay generates on the surface. This will still reward exploration, but it will make collecting lots of clay an easier task. Thoughts?

    Strider goo

    Posted: 18 Aug 2020 11:19 AM PDT

Striders are cute. We all know that. And there should be a way to be able for them to not freeze on nether land. So I suggest feeding them magma cream for them to feel warm for a while. But what if we want to take them to the overworld? I suggest a new food, but only for the striders: strider goo. Crafted with magma cream and blaze powder, it makes them warm, even in the overworld. Only for a while though.
