Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #110: The Colours of Autumn Posted: 08 Nov 2020 07:52 AM PST LAST WEEK'S THEME: HAUNTED HOUSEGoldA very dark a spooky build. Great choice of location, in the swamp, as a swamp is already a place that's spooky and creepy. Planting those dark oak trees also gave your build a nice backdrop. I really liked the exterior, since it combined some odd colours together that really worked well and blended nicely in their halves of the building. And finally, I loved the interior. There was a lot of variety in your rooms with colours and layouts, and it made each picture interesting to look at (and probably would have made the build fun to explore!) Awesome job! SilverAnother cool landscape surrounds this build, but this time it is a wasteland. Also, the skull cloud instantly adds a layer of dread and fear to the build. Using glass to build it also added that unique "foggy" styled effect that glass gives when building with it. I also liked your trapdoor windows, was an interesting style that really worked with the rest of your wooden/abandoned build. Finally, loved the entrance and the interior. The hallway above was cool and the shape of the room also seemed neat to me. Good build! BronzeI'm very impressed at how you managed to take a very regal and clean block (with quartz) and still managed to make your building creepy and seem haunted. I think your addition of the pumpkins and vines seemingly everywhere, really made it seem corrupted and run down. One thing I didn't like was the nether room inside, mainly because I felt it really veered off what the exterior set up the building to be, if that makes sense. Still a great build though! Honourable mentions IntroductionFall is almost over, in my area at least. While the season will continue until December, the leaves on the trees have mostly turned and some have fallen. However, since the season continues, let's continue build in that fashion in this challenge! Maybe build some custom trees with colorful leaves, or create some giant piles of leaves behind a house for villagers to jump in! It's up to you! Inspiration ChallengeThe colours of autumn Build an autumn themed build. It can whatever you want, centered around that theme. However, there must be something "built" in it. This can be as simple as a small shack in the woods or a small terraformed mountain. A bunch of trees with fall coloured leaves and nothing else is not a build. Rules
