Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:11 AM PST People will probably want to build a lot with these blocks, seeing as any block with a black/gray/white texture is always a welcome addition for builders. The issue is, that they may be a bit to finite to realistically use for building. At the same time, I believe we should keep it necessary to find amethyst geodes to procure these materials. Here's my suggestion: Add a crafting recipe for both Calcite and Tuff. Calcite - 8 diorite surrounding an amethyst crystal would make 8 Calcite Tuff - 8 Stone or Andicite surrounding an amethyst crystal would make 8 Tuff I'm flexible on what the crafting recipe actually is, but I do think they should both require some amethyst crystals so that you still have to find a geode and farm it for a while. Swimming in water outside while it is snowing deals freezing damage Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:08 AM PST There is not a lot of weather hazards in minecraft. The only one we had now has a way to be negated, but the places where it doesn't rain are still pretty safe. But specifically for cold biomes, I think it would be cool to have a seemingly harmless liquid become deadly during a storm. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 09:32 AM PST I've always felt there needed to be more elytra enchantments, so i thought of one. The gliding enchantment could be put on elytras and would range from one to three. The higher the enchantment level, the farther you would glide with the elytra. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 01:15 PM PST Pretty simple change: it protects from both hot and cold. Why? A separate "cold protection" enchantment would be too niche to ever be useful, but it would be a great way to make fire protection more viable, since right now the old reliable Prot IV is just too good to pass up. An alternate name could be "Insulation". [link] [comments]
Drowned should be Aquatic Mobs Posted: 16 Nov 2020 02:11 PM PST They can spawn with a trident, and the trident cannot deal extra damage to them because they are not aquatic mobs. The new Combat Tests will enable Impaling to work on all aquatic mobs, AND mobs in water or rain. However, if you have a drowned that is attacking on land at night without rain, impaling will not work on them. I still think the Impaling enchantment should work on them no matter if they are in water or not, because they have adapted to the water life (since they can swim, unlike other zombie variants). They also SPAWN with a trident. This why drowned mob should be aquatic mob. [link] [comments]
The block a spore blossom is placed on effect the particles it creates! Posted: 17 Nov 2020 03:13 AM PST pretty much the title :D i've wanted a way to make certain particles in vanilla survival for a long time, and i think this would be a great solution here are some ideas for blocks and the particles they would create in combination with the blossom:
i'd also like to include smoke particles and generic cloud particles but i can't think of the blocks i'd use for them. i'm probably blanking out on something super obvious though. if you have any ideas i'd love to hear them :D now here's an idea that might be pushing it: colored particles? the "dust" particle, used for redstone, supports custom colors, so we could get colored dust particles using concrete or wool or something of the like i do see reason to disagree with some of this, mainly particles that wouldn't really make a lot of sense coming from a flower. like the portal particles, which have unusual physics. so please let me know what you think about this suggestion, how i can improve it, etc. :D edit: please ignore the messed up title lol [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:33 AM PST It would be cool if mojang added blizzards, they could happen when there would be a storm in cold biomes. Snow would fall and fly quickly simulating fast winds and it would be slightly darker than during a normal plains storm. If you would stand out in the open air without leather armor you would slowly start to freeze. I think this could add some natural difficulty into the game and would make a cool addition to the caves and cliffs update. [link] [comments]
Encourage Players to travel at Nighttime in Deserts Posted: 17 Nov 2020 12:05 PM PST It's almost impossible to travel a desert in real life during the day, because there is no water, and you're going to be exposed to daylight all day long. But in Minecraft, it's a completely different story. More players would want to travel a desert during the daytime. However, it just doesn't make sense. My suggestion is to not add temperature, but you'll burn your feet if you're standing on sand or red sand in a desert or badlands biome. The burning will occur only if the player is on sand, and the block must have sky exposure. In addition, it must be daytime for the player's feet to burn. Chainmail boots will slow the effect, must like how leather armor slows down freezing in powder snow. Wearing full chainmail armor will negate the effect entirely. This will also give chainmail armor pretty useful; consider it is the only type of armor that cannot be crafted. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 10:09 AM PST Pretty self explanatory, but I think copper bars that oxidize would be magnificent. [link] [comments]
Aquatic Music should only start playing if no music is already active Posted: 17 Nov 2020 06:03 AM PST As much as I love the Aquatic tracks, hearing them every time I dip my big toe in water gets a little annoying, especially when a good Alpha track was already playing. I feel like current tracks shouldn't be interrupted, because it gives more variety to background music. Especially if you are near water or constantly use a body of water, instead of hearing all Minecraft's fantastic overworld music, you hear the same three Aquatic tracks 90% of the time. As far as I know, Bedrock Edition has this problem, but I'm not sure about Java. Please get this out there if you feel the same too, it seems quite simple of a fix. [link] [comments]

Posted: 17 Nov 2020 05:48 AM PST This is my idea for adding an entirely new aspect to the game. One day Minecraft will look to the stars. And this is how I think they should. The addition of the telescope got me thinking how this could be done. CONSTELLATIONS/STARS: Every minecraft seed will have a unique arrangement of a set of different constellations. These can be seen without a telescope. Three specific constellations will have a special star only visible with the telescope. This will make the minecraft night sky look much more interesting and beautiful. These three stars will be a guide for the player. Following the direction of the star for a long distance will lead to one of three new biomes that I came up with. All deep inside certain minecraft climate zones. They can be found by chance but they would be rare enough that it's easier to use the stars. THE BIOMES: Whatever constellation contains a bright diamond colored star will lead the player the Polar Plains biome. The ground here is 5 layers of snow blocks with pits of powdered snow hiding ravines and deep holes. There are no trees or grass, only barely hilly plains of snow and snow covered mountain sub biomes. The only mobs that spawn besides hostiles are polar bears and white foxes. And the new Penguin mob. A pretty simple mob that spawns in large groups and drop feathers and penguin meat. Just an aesthetic mob to be honest but it makes the polar biome special. In this biome, the sky will alternate between a minecraft week of darkness and then a week of light. The sun and moon will rotate as normal but the sky will remain bright with the moon and dark with the sun. This gives a lossely realistic feel to the biome and also making it kind if mystical. During night (but only during actual night) a minecraft version of the Aurora Borealis will appear in the sky. During this time "meteors" (magma block) will occasionally spawn high up in the sky and fall, disappearing before hitting the ground and dropping an item. It will either drop an iron, gold, or copper ingot, diamond, coal, or stardust (a new item that I'll get to.) The constellation that contains a bright green star will lead to the Ancient Forest biome. This biome contains mostly large oak and spruce trees, large mushrooms, and a lot of tall grass and flowers. Fossils can also spawn on the surface. Parrots, foxes, rabbits, and pigs spawn here. And also the new Deer mob. This biome will spawn a lot more zombies at night than any other biome. Due to the large trees, sunlight does not reach the zombies and actual hordes will form as time goes on. The deer mob is pretty basic. They are very quiet and still, until they spot a player and run away very fast. They are hard to find in the tall grass. Rarely, a larger white deer will spawn that is much faster and will keep running for awhile. It can be snuck up on (like a cat/ocelot) and be fed a golden apple. If the player is lucky it will drop stardust and run off. Killing it drops bones and venison. The last biome can be found by following the constellation that has a bright red star in it. The Oasis biome can be found deep in the desert. Basically a desert but small lakes spawn surrounded by grass and palm trees. Cows, turtles, chickens, and Elephants spawn here! Elephants when attacked will attack back and deal a lot of damage. They cannot be tamed or leaded but will attack all hostile mobs except creepers. They keep the oasis clear of hostiles like a natural iron golem. Deep underground in this biome, stardust geodes will spawn. Much smaller than an amethyst geode, they contain quartz crystals (a white version of amethyst basically). Breaking these only drops the block itself so you still can't get quartz in the overworld. A budding quartz crystal will rarely spawn (maybe like 5 total in the entire biome) that will very rarely pop out a stardust). So those biomes are all basically 3 different ways to obtain stardust. This is meant to encourage exploration and enchance the beauty of Minecraft. So what does stardust do? STARDUST: Combining stardust with quartz (the item) will produce a Chromatite ingot. Combining this with iron armor/tools on a smithing table will create Chromatite armor/tools. The armor is as strong as diamond but at least 2 pieces of armor will give an extra heart to the player, and a full set will give two extra hearts. The tools are as strong as diamond but will give more experience when mining/killing. The idea is to provide a new armor/tool set that is unique and useful but not OP. And that is obtained in a way that adds immersion and fun to the game. And to give new uses to many different items like quartz, smithing table, and iron armor/tools, telescope, golden apples, the sky, etc. OTHER IDEAS: -Stardust Lantern: Dim like a soul lantern but produces twinkling particles in a 10 block radius. Will repel small hostile mobs like spiders, silverfish, baby zombies, etc. -Chromatite Blocks: Pinkish/White block set that glow 1 light level. But they glow brighter when closer to diamond ore. -Using stardust and blaze powder to brew Experience bottles. -Using Chromatite to make Golem Armor to upgrade iron golems. -Wandering Trader acts as an Astrologer Villager. Selling things like penguin meat, palm saplings, and quartz crystals, etc. He would eventually disappear to continue his wandering (despawn) but not before dropping a stardust if the player has not harmed him at all and is feeling generous. CONCLUSION: Space is so interesting in the real world. I think this would be a great way to bring that to Minecraft without adding an entire new dimesion or something. I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas! [link] [comments]
Make freezing do twice as much damage to Cold blooded mobs. (And blazes) Posted: 17 Nov 2020 02:43 PM PST This would make real world sense, ectotherms succumb to the cold much easier than endotherms. This would also make sense to damage blazes given that snowballs damage them. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 01:40 PM PST Like a hopper but without the ability to pick up items. 8 copper in a square makes 16 copper pipes. This way we can finally make item transport systems without having to spend 5 iron on every block or deal with clunky water & ice mechanics. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:40 AM PST Ok so silverfish spawners are basically not useful outside of as an XP farm. The mobs themselves are kinda annoying and are really useless. So I have a few suggestions.
This way, if you still want a gravel farm, and want to decorate your end portal room, you wouldn't have an ugly farm in the way, and you could make farms in the deep dark instead. [link] [comments]
A new rock for the deserts of Minecraft: Halite/rock salt Posted: 17 Nov 2020 09:46 AM PST Halite could be found in deserts in dried out lakes and could be mined for itself with a hardness similar to glass, each block could be converted into 4 salt and vice versa. Halite also prevents snow from collecting over it and prevents any water block directly above it from freezing when placed Salt salt is made from halite and can also found in village chests and woodland mansion chests It would be used to make food have a higher saturation but would only work on vegetables and meat it wouldn't work on bread, apples or sweet berries etc. it also reduces the chance for foods like raw pork and rotten flesh from giving you hunger by a 1/3. It could also be used to make a potion of blindness that would blind for 2:25 minutes at I and 6:38 minutes at II and can be reversed into a potion of spectral sight that makes mobs in your vision glow while looking at lasting for 3 minutes at I and 8 minutes at II when potions of blindness are used on a mob and when blindness is given to a mob in general they will have a greatly reduced aggro range at de-aggro from a much shorter distance only needing to be 10 blocks away from a mob for it to de aggro and having to be 5 blocks close to a hostile mob for it to aggro. It will also cause mobs to not try to avoid hazards as they can't see such as steep falls, magma blocks and lava. Blindness would not work on boss mobs or the warden (the warden is already blind) I am free to criticism leave your thoughts in the comments below! [link] [comments]
Players should have a "ping" and "connection status" in the pause menu Posted: 17 Nov 2020 09:58 AM PST Sometimes we can be playing with our friends, and feel like we are lagging, but we are never sure. Having a little ping display (it tells you how delayed you are) will be useful to help monitor and understand how good ournconnection to our friends is. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 06:51 AM PST Copper should be able to pass on a redstone signal to a neighbouring copper block The effect should only be for two copper blocks next to each other so it isn't too OP. But it would be great for powering difficult to reach pistons or dispensers in a tightly pact contraption. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 04:35 AM PST Sulphur is basically gun powder and but not easy to find that's why i suggest a swamp biome where large pockets of sulphur can spawn u can craft it by using the crafting table. By combining sand a sulphur u get two gun powders [link] [comments]
Ability to tie and untie the Bundle. Posted: 16 Nov 2020 09:58 PM PST I've already seen the idea of making the bundle content invisible in some way several times. However, few people suggested exactly how this could be done. My idea is this: in a crafting grid, when you connect a filled bundle and a string, you get a linked bag. Its content will become invisible, and when you right-click it, it will not be placed in the inventory. How do I untie it, you ask me? Yes, very simple! You simply drag shears to a bundle in your inventory and get a regular bundle. This mechanic is mainly useful for role-playing games and creators. [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 06:39 AM PST If a trident is thrown while in the off hand the trident should return back into the off hand. ( if the trident has loyalty) [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Nov 2020 07:03 AM PST ...in deserts should turn into a regular skeleton and skeletons in the powder snow should turn into strays. [link] [comments] |
