If you buy a wandering trader's whole stock, he moves in and becomes a villager. Posted: 18 May 2021 04:36 AM PDT To me his items seem very uninteresting 80% of the time, so I think this would be a way to make him a bit more useful. It would also make it easier to get villagers, since in many worlds villagers are far away, transporting them can be annoying and difficult depending on what kind of base you have, and the villager zombie spawns are rare and unpredictable. It's also still challenging enough to not be totally OP, since you're gonna need a decent amount of emeralds. Maybe you could also get an achievement as a hint that you can do this. Tipped Arrows With Positive Potion Effects No Longer Do Base Damage Posted: 18 May 2021 10:04 AM PDT I was in an anarchy server with my brother yesterday and I was in a PVP battle like everyone elts. My brother brewed and tipped some arrows with positive effects to have more of a long-range support and healer role. But it turns out that positive tipped arrows still do base damage. This does not make any sense, Arrows meant to heal, give strength, or give positive effects should not do base damage so people like my brother can play a support role in battle without killing me by accident. PLEASE FIX THIS MOJANG [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 May 2021 08:14 AM PDT So, I've recently tried making a copper house, but when I was making a balcony, I had to use red sandstone walls, because copper walls didn't exist. Im personally surprised that copper walls don't exist because you'd just think they will with all of the copper blocks added. (Also, tinted glass PANES would be cool for next part, I can wait a bit for that) [link] [comments]
Visual Damage for Tools and Armor Posted: 18 May 2021 11:14 AM PDT I think that weapons, tools, and armor should have different looks for different states of durability, similar to the anvil. It would look great for retired armor on armor stands, or when playing with friends. (If anyone knows a mod that does this, hmu please) [link] [comments]

"Journey to the Center of the World" Challenge Advancement Posted: 18 May 2021 09:22 AM PDT This is basically a "visit all cave biomes" advancement but I want to give more difficulty to it to make it a little different from "Adventuring Time" and "Hot Tourist Destinations". To get this advancement, you need to explore every part of the underground. This means you need to step foot in all types of caves, biomes, and generated structures. Specifically, to get this advancement, you must discover these underground features: Amethyst Geodes, Mineshafts, Strongholds, Dungeons, (Unknown Deep Dark generated structure), Aquifers (Water-flooded cave systems), Lava Aquifers (Lava-flooded cave systems), Iron Vein (Huge snake-like ore vein), Copper Vein (Huge snake-like ore vein), Cheese Caves (Very large caves), Noodle Caves (Very thin, squiggly tunnels), Spaghetti Caves (Long, squiggly tunnels), Ravines (Large cracks), Small Carvers (Small normal caves), Medium Carvers (Medium normal caves), Large Carvers (Large normal caves), Crack Carvers (Very deep, narrow cracks), Circular Voids (Spherical holes found on hills and mountains), Deep Pits (Large, deep pits found on the surface), Connected Caverns (Merged carvers), Sea-access Carvers (Caves that can be found on oceans, not waterlogged), Underground Lakes (Small bodies of water), Underground Lava Lakes (Small bodies of lava), Lava Oceans (Large bodies of lava), Lush Caves (in all possible cave types), Dripstone Caves (in all possible cave types), and Deep Dark (in all possible cave types) As you can see, this is a very difficult advancement because of how many underground features you need to find. There are also very tricky areas you need to explore, too like the lava-filled ones which makes this advancement overkill. This advancement will make the player explore the caves more and they should discover something new whilst doing it. Discovering the new biomes is not easy, too as you need to find these biomes in every cave type possible. For example, you must find a dripstone cave in every type of caves like the ravines, cheese caves, noodle caves, medium caves, and more. If you think this is insanely difficult then remember that there's an advancement in the game that requires the player to have every status effect applied at the same time. With that thought, I think this advancement should be a secret challenge advancement. So, I hope you like this idea. I'm typing this on my phone as I'm about to sleep. Good night, good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to you all. Have a nice one. Edit: Yeah, the challenge advancement's name is a reference to the movie "Journey to the Center of the Earth". And since the Earth in Minecraft is called "World", I replaced the "Earth" with "World" (you can now call me Captain Obvious or Mr. Obvious now). Agh I need to sleep now. [link] [comments]
pre-bound villagers to their beds Posted: 18 May 2021 07:15 AM PDT problem: it's very common when you find a new village, but once the night comes, villagers walk around the village instead of going to sleep, making them vulnerable to zombies (and no, iron golems are bad at protecting villagers). that literally makes the population of the village halve every night. the only way to stop this is to literally trap villagers and protect them from their stupidity. Better wolves and cats: Bowls with food, anchor points and sleeping carpets. Posted: 18 May 2021 10:20 AM PDT Currently if I want to stop my wolf from following me around, I'll have him sitting until I get back from some dangerous place I don't want him to be in. Usually I end up forgetting that I have a pet wolf since I very rarely let them stand, so I think this would be a very neat addition : We should have a way of having the wolf be able to wander around a certain location, without going too far, just like villagers do. For example, a bowl filled with meat, if put in the ground, could act as an anchor point for the wolf. If I put it my yard, for example, the wolf would always be nearby, but not necessarily following me. Wolves anchored with a bowl should follow their owner only if hungry or injured and if the owner finds himself in the radius of the bowl. With this, we would be able to have wolves acting as shepherds, attacking mobs near sheep or cattle, and also as general security for villages. Cats should just run away when a mob comes close. Another cool thing to add would be the ability for the wolf to rest or sleep over carpets that are placed near the bowl, automatically waking up if hostile mobs came close. Sleeping on a carpet could be interpreted as the wolf's way of healing giving that the bowl is full. If there is no bowl, the wolf would sleep anywhere, or in a near carpet, but would not heal. Desert Pyramids should be built with some chiseled RED sandstone Posted: 18 May 2021 02:04 PM PDT Seeing as the pyramid is the perfect size for a tier 4 beacon, it would be neat if there were a couple pieces of red chiseled sandstone instead of terracotta, since the chiseled red sandstone depicts the wither and it would be a neat tie-in to the pyramid's beacon-ready shape [link] [comments]
Wandering traders can buy itens you depending of the biome you are in Posted: 18 May 2021 03:33 PM PDT Wandering traders only sell thing from biomes you are not in, so it would be cool if he bought things from the biome you are in, it would made them more useful in the early game, when you do not have that many emeralds. Posted: 18 May 2021 08:46 AM PDT Falcons are a neutral bird that fly around and dive into water to catch fish. You can tame them with raw fish but only with the type of fish they like which would be randomized for each falcon. They also drop feathers when killed Tamed falcons can be useful for several things. Like dogs and axolotls they can attack mobs that are small (not as big as the player), they usually attack phantoms. Falcons can also swoop down to pick up items on the ground and to catch fish, tamed falcons will bring you the items. They can also sit on your shoulder. [link] [comments]
Fairy totem prevents mobs from spawning in a radius Posted: 18 May 2021 12:01 AM PDT Ever since the game was released, builders have asked for a way to prevent mobs from spawning without having to crowd their builds with weird-looking light sources. My take on this would be a fairy totem, a block built with a Nether Star surrounded by wood. There are several variants (oak, birch, acacia, jungle and dark oak), each with a different appearance . The totem works even if it's not exposed to the sky, has a base radius of 10, and the radius is increased by 10 blocks when you add two different variants on top of each other, to a maximum of 50 blocks for a fully built totem (which means that a fully upgraded totem requires five Nether Stars). Posted: 18 May 2021 12:57 PM PDT Works just like the observer but can sense when a plant is done growing and will send out a redstone signal for whatever contraption you decide, would make farms like wheat or carrots easier, would also make a good timer. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 May 2021 12:38 PM PDT What it is; Packed snow, would be a new snow variant added to the mountains in 1.17 or 1.18 How it works: Packed snow wouldn't be to different from normal snow, the only difference is, it can't melt. I thought of this as I am working on a snowy village, but I can't have snow layers and lights. Other Info To anyone who would say this doesn't make sense, as snow should melt remember that ice can melt but packed ice can't. The crafting recipe for packed snow would be a 2x2 area with snow blocks to get 2 packed snow. [link] [comments]

Stripping the Bark from Logs gives you that tree's respective Bark as an item Posted: 18 May 2021 03:45 PM PDT I know you've probably seem this one before, but yesterday I posted a suggestion about obtaining Copper Patina as an item when you scrape it off of Oxidized Copper. And since the Stripping-With-An-Axe mechanic also applies to Logs to convert them into Stripped Wood, I figured I'd give it a go. So when you strip a Log, you get 1 of that tree's respective Bark (or Hyphae) per Log you stripped. Here are the uses I came up with based on a bit of research. -Converting Stripped Wood back into its Log form by using its matching Bark on it and quite literally slapping the bark back on it. Not realistic, but it's a video game. -Crafting 4 together in the 2x2 grid to make 4 Bark Blocks, essentially replacing the current recipe of 4 Logs. To prevent duplicating wood, Bark Blocks will convert back into 4 Bark instead of 4 Logs. -With 1 Bark, 1 Wheat or Cut Grass, and 1 Stick, you can create a Firestarter. It's a non-stackable item that functions the same as a Flint and Steel in terms of mechanics and block interactions, but with a single use. Due to the Fireproof properties of Warped and Crimson Wood, you will not be able to use their respective Hyphae when crafting this. -Bark can be used as Fuel for Furnaces. 1 Bark per item cooked. Again, due to the Fireproof properties, Warped and Crimson Hyphae cannot be used in Furnaces. -You can eat Spruce Bark to restore 1 Hunger and 1.5 Saturation. A low grade food that's good in a pinch. Apparently in Scandinavia, they used to eat Pine Bark in times of famine, usually by grinding it up into a flour and baking it. The inner bark is also high in Vitamin C. Spruce is the closest thing we have to Pine in this game, both of them being Conifer Trees. -Combining 3 Birch Bark vertically in the Crafting Table gets you a piece of paper. It's still more efficient to use Sugar Cane, but a nice option to have. -Combining 2 of a Bark type horizontally would craft some Bark Sheets, essentially acting just like Carpet, but with the Bark's texture. You can choose its orientation like Logs or Glazed Terracotta to make neat patterns. -Combine Bark with Fences of the matching wood type to change their look, giving it the log texture instead of planks. Good for rustic style builds. If you want to revert the Fence back to normal, just strip it with your axe, and you'll get the bark back. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 May 2021 02:59 PM PDT I dont mean the walking dead style giant herds attacking to player, just since all the enchantments and other stuff added to game zombies stop being hard or scary anymore, can you remember the last time you died to a zombie? (Expect the baby ones, this little freaks are still scarry) ı am just saying isnt this will be nice if zombies have a chance to spawn in gangs can found 10 and even more zombie, or if diffrent zombie gangs mix together for create one big horde. Copper Oxide (Patina) as an item you obtain by scraping Oxidized Copper Blocks Posted: 17 May 2021 08:31 PM PDT I did a search, and while I saw many posts about the Copper Oxidation mechanic (mostly ways to speed it up) I didn't find one where Copper Oxide was an item. When scraping the oxidation off of Copper Blocks, you get Copper Patina. 1 Patina for each layer of oxidation scraped, so up to 3 per block, if it's fully weathered. (If you don't know, Patina is another name for the greenish layer of oxidation found on Copper and Bronze.) You can use the Patina for a few things -Manually increase the oxidation stage of unwaxed copper blocks by 1 for each Patina used on it by literally slapping it back on. It's not exactly speeding it up like many people want, but it does give you control and the chance to undo a misclick (unlike with stripped logs)
-Craft 2 into Cyan Dye (Copper oxide was once used as a dye for ceramics, it turns out) -When combined with a Firework Star, it adds a light blue trail to the Firework's particles as they fall and twinkle out, because fun fact, Copper Oxide is used in making light blue colored fireworks. Aside from the Fireworks thing, the list above are based on suggestions you've probably seen before, as they seem to be suggested frequently enough. (or at least were when we first got Copper Blocks) And I figured that having Copper Patina as a usable item would be a way to remedy those suggestions without changing how the Copper Blocks work.
