New Horizons started less than two weeks ago and has an already established playerbase of around 100 people. We are a community-oriented server with a focus on the vanilla aspect of Minecraft. We focus on bringing the players together with community events, contests, movie nights, and even game nights! We are an open and accepting community that wants our players to feel safe and free of any harassment, trolling, or toxicity. We use a whitelist and application system to ensure that those joining are coming into a safe and friendly environment. Currently, our map is quite small, this is because we are waiting to expand our borders for when 1.17 comes out. We will be updating to 1.17 as soon as all the plugins we use are updated. Our Community In our international community, we have a wonderful, diverse player base, and an active, approachable staff team. We're always looking for more people to join the player base of ~70 active players, reaching us from all over the world and in multiple time zones. Long description, tl;dr features list below: Since 2010, the Summa Crossroads Minecraft server has been built on one great idea - that what we build should be fun and exciting. We've gone through multiple maps, updates, and plugin sets, always trying to find that delicate balance of fun, challenge, and drive. We've been around since alpha, and we've learned a lot. This server has been a lot of things for a lot of people, but it's always been a good time. Today, we feature a vast 16,000 by 16,000 map sprawling from edge to edge with beautiful custom biomes. It's hand-painted and lovingly crafted - every inch is designed to bring the sense of adventure and vast scale that you may recall from your first days of Minecraft. Some residents have built towns and gathered the resources to construct their own waypoints, which you can unlock the ability to fast-travel to by venturing there yourself. Much of the landscape is yet unexplored, and each week new adventures are introduced. For those who enjoy a good challenge, the overworld is bustling with deep caves, and the monsters that come out at night will be no allies. PvP arenas let you challenge your friends and humiliate your foes - paying you out for putting up a good fight. The Underdome and Woodland arenas let you demonstrate your gladiatorial might against wave after wave of things that go bump in the night, with spoils to those who entertain. Vast parkour challenges, one of which has only been completed by two players in the history of the server, will spare you no mercy. Unrelenting instanced temples will push you to your limits, giving you fame and fortune if you show the world that you are a true hero. Accumulate enough might and you can unlock ancient secrets, letting you use magic spells to control the world around you. We think it's important to foster a strong community, and our player ranks are thus tied to activity on the server. As you continue to build your legend and establish your presence, you will earn your way to glory and prestige. Wahrheit has undertaken a complete rework of our quest system from the ground up. The new system has a stronger new player onboarding experience, providing clear direction and progression in terms of both acclimating to the server's gameplay and having the resources to do so. Every weekend, special events will automatically activate! The first event release is Tribute - gather Tribute of the Gods and bring it to the Oracle of the Gods in Dawn's Landing. | The Lingerers [Vanilla] {Relaxed Rules} {Hardcore} {1.17 part 1} Posted: 17 Jun 2021 11:46 PM PDT This is a new server, made to be an interesting take on survival. You spawn in at a random point of the map, and start your adventure from there; however, there is one catch: when you die, you spawn yet again at a random point. Your life matters, and you must maintain it at whatever cost! Death could mean you will likely lose all of your progress, even if you had a bed! Will you create a settlement for players to live in prosperity together? Will you have a humble home in the darkest crevasses of the world? Is a nomadic lifestyle more fun to you? Do you wish to explore the world and find signs of life in the vast landscape? Or, more maliciously, do you wish to murder and overthrow players from their homes, taking their land as a token of your superiority? Whether you are searching for PvP, or you are looking to build up a community and create beautiful architecture, this server hopes to give you an interesting experience. The server will be pretty lenient on what you can and can't do; rule of thumb is to not be completely toxic and destructive, and to treat other players with respect. Griefing is allowed in moderation, however joining just to grief everything in your path will result in a ban. Derogatory and hurtful language can be tolerated to an extent, barring the use of slurs or threats against any players (if you really need to get your jimmies twisted over someone playing a block game, we don't want you!) Hacking or exploits are completely bannable (no duplication, xray, etc). Otherwise there will likely be no administrative intervention outside of dealing with these types of offenses. We have a very small active community right now, only about 3-6 players on at night. We have a discord but it isn't mandatory to join. You are free to build anywhere and we have CoreProtect for grief protection. PVP is disabled. Server is based in Chicago. There are a few changes from vanilla: The Phantom's AI is disabled, mob griefing is disabled, and you are allowed home to teleport to with /home.
