Goatzone is an Avatar inspired minecraft java edition server where you get to choose one of the 4 elements to bend. Each element live within their own cities and nations. We try to make the server as lore accurate as possible and the server has cities and nations placed accuratelly on the map. Together we build as different nations to create the cities we know and love from the Avatar series. You may optionally also be a non bender if you choose it, or perhaps be a chi blocker if you rather be that instead of bending the elements? GoatZone also has custom made map which is accurate to the Avatar map in the lore, and you can visit all the locations in the show. Each nation has a Leader, for example the Fire Lord/Lady, or Earth king/queen and so on. They lead the nation and decide how it is ruled. Each nation has laws that need to be followed, which are set by the leader, or in some cases by a democracy. Some leaders chose to make their nation a democracy. How a nation is made and ruled is in the players hands essentially. Each month 1 Avatar is randomly chosen, this player will get to learn all of the 4 elements. They need to find a teacher who can teach them the elements they want to learn. To do this they need to travel the world and visit different nations to find them selves a teacher. The Avatar can also enter the Avatar state and energybend. Every Avatar also get their own Statue that will stay with the server forever in the Avatar statue area. On top of this we also have a 4th custom dimenstion, being the Spirit world. In the Spirit world, spirits live, and to enter it you need to go on a spirit journey alongside the Avatar. In the Spirit world all kinds of weird things may happen. The world looks different, there's new biomes, the weather is different, time works different. You can also find a number of new structures that can be generated in the Spirit world. GoatZone is completelly free and requires no mods at all and can be played on version 1.16.2 or above! (Name is subject to change btw, I want to hear some suggestions) I have written quite the wall of text, but I have added headers for each section. I felt it was important to be specific about the expectations I have for the server, so everybody understands what is truly expected. When I say hermit-craft-like I mean it, just a more casual take, and without expectations for you to be a content-creator. If you have any questions, please write a comment, and I will do my best to answer. Cold Server informationServer location: Europe Vanilla Minecraft: Yes. We might install some convenient plugins like one-player-sleep, disabled enderman-grief, etc, but the goal is to maintain the vanilla minecraft experience. No warps, teleportations, change in difficulty, etc. Seed, chunkbase, f3, coordinates: Allowed Difficulty: Hard Age-limit: Minimum 20 years old (But I might soften this to 18+ if I truly believe you have the right mentality for the server). We work in seasons. Every major update, we create a new world. Number of players: This of course depends on the amount of people who apply, but there will be a limit to avoid overcrowding. What is the purpose of the server?The idea is to imitate the playstyle of the hermitcraft server known from youtube, but for people who may or may not be content creators, nor have a massive amount of time to invest in the game. I want the same level of creativity, but without the need to commit to massive megabases. You might have work, family, school. Whatever it is that might require you to commit time irl, there are no expectations for you to commit to a certain amount of hours. This community is to be a refuge. If you run into a period where you might not have time to play, simply let us know. If you have the right personality for this type of community, you are always welcome back on the server. Why do you want to imitate the Hermits?The hermits themselves are very motivated and ambitious with the quality of content they create for their viewers, but I think the grandness and scale of their builds are the least important part of what makes their playstyle superior to other styles. What I love the hermits for is their balance between self-sustained projects and interaction between players. They do their own thing, being creative right from the start and in all their builds, but also work towards having some unique shops, each hermit seeing a gap in the market They care about making pretty builds and becoming self-sustaining, but most of all, it's about creating games out of nothing, and bringing some sort of uniqueness to the community. They don't all make shops and farms at maximum efficiency and never buy from anyone to not waste any diamonds as they all try to become the richest person who farms everything for themselves. They take risks and occasionally lose their precious items. And it makes for such a dynamic and emotional experience. And as all the different hermits have different levels of experience and expertise, some people might get their elytra on the first day, while others struggle to get full diamond armor. All of this works to create a wonderful contrast, all bound together by their common belief in enjoying the little things and making pretty builds right from the start. What is the server not?It is not just solo survival on a minecraft server. I expect a certain friendliness and intent to interact with others, as well as participate in the ideas of shops. It is not a collaborative experience where we all work together, or in teams even. Even if you are good friends, you should still do your own base and initial farms, and THEN if you want to go on adventures together or collaborate on things, that is fine. And don't create all-round shops with ridiculously cheap prices. It is not a race to riches with one big cobblestone cube for a base that every type of farm you could imagine. It is not a place to make dark, dirty or political jokes in the chat. This is not to aspire to some sort of political correctness, but quite simply, I love the childish nature of Hermitcraft, and the absence of issues from the outside world. Besides, if you have thoughts about becoming a content-creator, I would like to provide a place that makes this possible. It is not a place of malice. Pranks should be in good fun, and taken as such. It is not freedom to grief or cheat. I hope to weed out people who just want to screw up the experience for everyone else, but since I am just launching this community, I may not be immediately succesful. What version are we playing on? How often do we reset?We will always be playing on the newest update, and we will reset the world for every major update. Currently, Mojang works on a schedule with 6 months between every major update. (If things change, here, then we can consider changing our season length as well) This of course puts a limit on how grand a scale you want to build on, but I hope you all keep this in mind. I am not really a fan of super massive builds myself, because of the grind it requires, and how pointless an empty structure of blocks is. What are your views on glitches, f3, exploitation of mechanics, etc..?I do not condone the use of xray (duh). I do not condone the use of very exploitive glitches ⦁ No duplication glitches ⦁ No breaking bedrock The use of coordinates, f3, and chunkbase to decide on a base is fine. Creating almost any type of farm is fine (Just don't lag out the server) The use of coordinates, chunkbase, etc. means you are giving up on the exploration aspect of Minecraft. But this is the way the Hermits play the game, and since coordinates seems to be an integral part of the way many players play the game, (slime-farms, nether travel,etc.), I think it will be more exciting for players to have these tools available to them. What kind of players are you looking for?All kinds of levels of knowledge is fine, so long as your aim is to improve and experiment in the areas important to the main philosophy of the server. If you aren't used to massive automatic farms and elytra-hunting, then perhaps your niche could be simpler, manual farms and relevant shops. If you are well versed in the mechanics of the game, perhaps you want to make a shop selling high-end items, and dominate in the challenges that might come along the way. Most important part is that you are self-sustaining, willing to interact with others, and always make good-looking builds. If you want to do massive builds, that is fine, but understand that your creativity won't be judged by the scale of your designs to the same degree. I expect a certain level of competence in regards to building, or at the very least, an effort to learn as you go. What kind of people are you looking for?Most important part here is a friendly personality and a willingness to interact with everyone else. You have seen hermit-craft. Is it in your nature to be like them? Then you should fit right in! Experience with running servers, using plugins, etc. can be very valuable, but it is not a free ticket to the server. You are subject to the same expectations for not making ugly builds and playing completely alone. Volunteering to do admin or mod work should come out of a desire to create a better experience for everyone on the server. I do not take pride in being the owner. I try to be very transparent with the playstyle I want on the server from the start, and if we get the right people, admin work should simply be a formality required to create the sort of community we want. Must I be a content-creator?If you want to create content, in the form of streaming or videos, etc, I want this server to be a space where that is possible, by restricting the use of chat and certain voice-chats from using certain language and discussing certain topics, as well as avoiding spam in the chat. But there is no expectation for you to be a content-creator. A bit about political stuff.LGBTQ+, BLM, covid-19, etc.. are all hot topics in the political world, and while politics are a no-go in the main text chats and main voice-chats, I don't mind people discussing it in appropriate channels. I have had an interest in politics since I was a teenager, and I have had opinions from one end to the other, back to center, etc. on several topics, and so I understand where most people are coming from, whereever they might land on a political spectrum. I ask that you respect that we all have different experiences as the foundation for our opinions, and don't think less of your fellow community-members because you see them having a political opinion you disagree with. I don't want bullshit on the server though. Obvious racism, sexism or bigotry has no place in the community. The same goes for excessive political correctness. If you can't take a joke, or if you take jokes too far, you don't belong on the server. How do I apply?First of all, seriously consider if this is the type of experience you want. You can ask further questions in the comments. I want to be as transparent about the type of community we want right from the start, and there is no point in applying if this isn't the type of server you are looking for.
