Minecraft Bi-Weekly Build Challenge #127: Landmark Posted: 04 Jul 2021 03:29 AM PDT LAST WEEK'S THEME: TALL SHIPGoldThis is a great build, and when I look at it, I just feel that it is such an grand and important tall ship. No idea why, but those are the feelings that it invokes. However, this is a good thing. It's one thing to build something that looks good, but nothing else. However, to create something that makes me feel an emotion is even greater. Only small complaint is the interior which seemed a little barren (look at the second album in his comment), but still felt complete enough to deserve the win. Great job! SilverI really loved the depth in the side of this build. The stairs and slabs made from wood made the hull of the ship really pop. I also liked the fence posts between the sails. The dark oak contrasted nicely with the sails. I felt you may have had one too many colours in the hull? There was blue, yellow, white and some brown. And while I liked certain combinations, I'm not sure if they all worked together. But that might just be me. Great build! BronzeWell this ship is massive. However even with something so big, it still looks great. I love how the sails seem to be fluttering in the wind. It adds a small level of detail and also some much needed depth in a build this size. Personally, I liked the glass being used a ropes (not sure if that's the technical term) however I think you might have needed to cut down? The build seemed very busy towards the middle. That being said, it still looked breathtaking! Great job! Honourable mentions IntroductionIf you are ever looking for inspiration for a build, it's best to look to our own world. Throughout history, we have created some marvelous things through many countries. This week, we'll be highlighting our favorites by recreating them in game. Whether it is from your own country, someplace you have visited, or another that you want to go, I'm looking forward to seeing your builds! Inspiration ChallengeLandmark Build a landmark from the real world. It must still exist (we've already done challenges for structures that no longer exist) or have existed in the 20th century (in case some places have been recently destroyed/burnt down/etc.) Please include a picture of what you are replicating.
