The winners of these events can get some really good items, They make the server more fun, so there's always more content :) There is also a place to suggest your own origins, which could get added. KeepInv is off, but griefing is banned, and we have blocklogs to see who did it. What is the kind of experience you can expect? We put a strong emphasis in building and roleplay first of all. The goal is for you to be able to tell your story through your builds and the way you interact with the other players. If you don't like heavy roleplay, don't be intimidated. We're really only looking to simulate Hermitcraft (or Empires SMP) levels of roleplay at the very least, but feel free to go all out if you want to! If you want your character to be an aspiring leader set on building a town and leading a new way of life, be our guest. If you want to be a character who is trying to prepare for an ominous threat of northern invaders, we won't stop you. Just use your common sense on this. When we began working on this server, we set out to make something different enough from other servers to feel unique, but also familiar enough that new players wouldn't need to spend hours reading text to get into playing.Now that the boring stuff is over, let's talk about why you should consider playing on Scylla's Rock over InsertNameHereCraft. ;) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ {There's a TLDR below this if you're feeling lazy, I respect it.} A new player joins the server, in our haunting welcoming area, where they're introduced to our rules and plugins. As they wander through, they discover that there are three kingdoms that are currently in the world, and they have the opportunity to join one of their choice. Stuck, and wanting to pick the community that best reflected their own play-style, they find that there's an optional personality test to help them find their new home.They discover that each of these kingdoms are ran by players with no admin or moderator abilities, and offer unique bonuses for PvP and PvE. While strongly encouraged to join one, you aren't required to -- unaligned players may not participate in raids, or craft any equipment above iron. However, they may still use such equipment if they manage to either find some, trade for it, or steal from another player.The new player quickly decides to join a team, and sets off to their new homeland, the server offers them no warps, or easy forms of travel. Once an hour of playtime has elapsed, a few iron pop into his inventory, with a message that his team has generated x points per hour due to hold territories and having so many players. During the walk, they notice that the days and nights are incredibly long, and that nights aren't skipped all that often, thankfully however, phantoms don't seem to be spawning to harass him.After arrival at their kingdom's land, they begin to build their house and gather materials. One day while mining, they see a message in chat. TeamA has began raiding CapitalB, the capital of TeamB. Wait, they're TeamB! They rush to the surface and quickly engage in combat with another player hoping to steal their resources. After a valiant effort our friend falls in combat, where he's forced to spectate a team member, once 10 minutes have passed he's allowed to respawn.After losing their homeland, they decide that maybe they want to make their own team, messaging a few friends and scrounging together the necessary resources, he puts in an application, which an administrator accepts. Thus TeamD was born.Once they had their team in a comfortable spot, they began working to build the greatest base the world has ever seen, thanking the creators for the long day cycle so they had plenty of time to build, and the ability to duplicate most building blocks easily using CraftBook's bridges and gates. Later he swears in anger as he realized that his diamond block floor would have to wait, the same methods wouldn't work with resources or blocks that aren't meant solely for building.A few days go by, and our player is running around in looking for something to do, when something strange stands out to them, they take note of it and move along. But now that they've noticed something, they begin noticing similar things and before long, they have enough information to form the first clue. Following the clue to it's con-clue-tion (I'm not sorry), the player realized they have stumbled upon the first quest line, and they're probably the first player to do so. Gathering the following clues, piecing together the puzzles, and finding the hidden pieces took some time and wasn't easy, but at the end of it all it was worth it, he was the first in the server to do so, and would be immortalized for doing so, as well as receiving a nifty reward that would follow him between server resets.Speaking of which, the new version was just around the corner, and man he loved his base and would be sorry to see it go. They were just in the middle of expressing this when a friend told him that the best three builds per season of the server would actually be taken to the new world all though a bit "weathered" to reflect the passing time, or he could just download the old world file if he so chose.
