At least compared to the typical Minecraft crowd, with the majority of us being in our 20's and 30's, but some even older (a few between 18 and 21 though). The youngest of us have old souls. The oldest of us are young at heart. And we run a Minecraft server that is very community based. We have a very well developed "home base" with people also developing their own remote HQ's. Plugins are largely vanilla, but additions do include single player sleep and MCMMO. We'd love it if you'd come join us. Right now, we have about 60 users, but about 20 that are very active. We try to be a tight-knit crowd, playing a lot of other games together as well (one of the more active ones is Sea of Thieves)...and weekly game nights on Tuesday nights for games like Cards Against Humanity and other similar "party" games (online). The server has some people (but not an overwhelming amount) on at all hours of the day, with users in Europe, Asia, and North America. Here is a small list of a few changes we have (to see all additions, join our discord server): Mob Heads have a chance of dropping on a kill (Reason: Fun) Player Heads will drop if killed by a player (Reason: Fun) Enderdragon drops Elytra (Reason: This helps the long marches through the end when it's been raided for thousands of blocks already) AFK Display (Reason: To see if someone is afk) Custom Team/Ranks (Reason: Lore and Moderation Ranks are displayed) Multiplayer Sleep (Reason: Only a certain amount of the online players in the overworld are needed to sleep to skip the night) Minecraft Speed Plug-in (MSP - This allows you to change the Minecarts top speed in a straight line. There are many ways to travel fast. Minecarts are near pointless because of the slow their max speed is. This plugin changes these speeds, but only if one desires) Creative World Portal (Reason: We have a separate world with creative mode to collaborate with members better. This world has a separate inventory, so nobody can take items from it to survival.) Core Protect and Vanish (These are here for your safety! Only some mods and myself are able to use them. We log every single thing somebody does, be it placing blocks, setting a building on fire or taking something out of a chest. By logging all this nobody can cheat or grief on the server. Anything can always be voted on, nothing is ever set in stone! Important note: For our World Reset we have discussed a lot of plans. Specially to counter the lag issues vanilla servers often seem to get. We are all building a colony together. Everyone can have their their own base, but not build further out than 3500 blocks from spawn (as of now). Each base will eventually have to be connected to the main colony in the center. This also ensures encountering people while playing the game, staying motivated and maybe collaborating with others! Starter farms are allowed to be built, but any larger size farm will have to be talked about. Access to already built farms is achieved by playing the game. I have already thought of some names that I am extremely happy with but already are used by large companies, or are not available as just a .com domain. Names such as: • Kolon SMP • Quolon SMP • Quok SMP • Quolok SMP Really kind of liking K/Q, but my only issue is referring people to it. So usually you could say something like, "Just go to wikipedia.com or my website's at discord.com, and that's easy to say and for people to remember and type. However, something like, "Go to colon.com, but with a Q and a U" isn't too memorable or easy to say. The domain kolonmc.com is available but I want something that can just be googled and instantly come up, and searching 'Kolon' shows a huge Korean company. So, it needs to be nice and short, just (name).com (no smp or mc added on), not too serious and corporate, being flexible and solid. Our community is mainly located in Europe and North America, with all different kinds of play styles. Our server has been around since April 2020 and we have started our fourth world/season with the release of Minecraft version 1.18. We are planning to start season 5 when 1.19 drops, so we are looking at establishing a good starting player base while we enjoy the rest of the current season! Since a few of the starting player base had to become inactive due to stricter time constraints in their lives or just feeling burnt out with Minecraft, we are looking for new members to join in on the fun! Our server philosophy is, like with many other servers, quite similar to the Hermits' approach. Ultimately though we just want everyone to have fun and to engage with each other.
