Entering a desert or mesa causes the clouds to fade away

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 07:28 AM PDT

Because its so dry there. It never rains in the desert. If it thunders on Bedrock Edition in the desert, the clouds will reappear for the duration of the storm but no rain falls.

It also makes sense since it almost never rains in deserts, resulting in clear skies.

The fade speed is the same as when the clouds darken during a storm.

A way to re-implement the killer bunny

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 09:05 AM PDT

I was kind of let down in 1.8 when the killer bunny became unused. It seemed like a cool concept and maybe even a fun little fight. In my opinion, this mob should be re-implemented, but not common.

The killer bunny has a unique structure: the killer bunny's burrow, this is an underground structure that spawns under the ground of forests, flower forests and plains biomes. It's cave is lit by a single lantern, it has a small fossil inside (implying it killed something that dared enter it's territory) and has a few rewards for slaying the bunny.

There's a chest within the small fossil of the burrow. A chest. It usually spawns with the average mineshaft or dungeon loot, BUUUT:

It has a 40% chance to spawn with a golden carrot

It has a 15% chance to spawn with a rabbit's foot

A 1.5% chance to spawn with a stack of 1-3 diamonds

And a 0.43% chance (I'm just sort of pulling numbers here) to spawn with a splash leaping potion (either I, II or the 8 minute span kind)

The bunny itself drops a rare unique award, but this is a 50/50 thing. The bunny drops an item called "Killer's fang", the killer's fang is a rare and valuable reward due to its rarity of being dropped. For one you could just use it as a trophy award, but you can also use it as a charm. The Killer's Fang, when crafted with string and leather, creates a necklace that gives a 20 second effect called "Rabbit's Rage". Put this necklace on the chest slot in your inventory and you'll get it.

The Rabbit's rage is an effect that gives you improved strength and farther knocks back enemy like a knock back 1 sword. You can also jump a little bit higher. Not flying, but can jump higher.

The necklace will need to charge up after awhile. It will go dead after 20 seconds. It takes about 1-1.5 minutes until you can get Rabbit's rage back.

The Rabbit's new combat itself is more dangerous than the original un-implemented version. It jumps higher, it can boost after players faster, it's attack strength is increased by half a heart now, and at times can destroy a 1x1 hole in stone. It is a very dangerous mob, but can be defeated. You'll need to get it as far away as possible during combat, otherwise it will bite at you relentlessly. It has 10 armor points. So be careful in it's burrow...

So to sum it up, it lives in a dark burrow, it's much more dangerous, it has quite a few rewards in a loot chest, and has a unique drop to create an item with a unique effect.

I'm sure there's better ways to re-implement it, maybe not through a massive overhaul, but I thought people would find this interesting nonetheless, I'm not sure if mojang will deny putting KB's back in game for some reason, but I figured I'd share this nonetheless.

    Better lightning

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 07:38 AM PDT

Lightning should look better. For example:

More dramatic appearances, with more forks in the lightning and sometimes a flickering appearance with a bit of blackness to it just before/after whiteness.

The sky lights up much, much brighter, especially at night. The light level will increase to 15 and back to normal night levels in an instant.

Lightning has different colours (reddish-white, yellowish-white, and bluish-white). Bluish-white is the most common colour.

Lightning has an opaque appearance, like real lightning.

Lightning is attracted to gold, and iron. Use iron anything, like blocks and iron bars to create conductors.

Lightning is more attracted to trees (not as much as gold and iron).

    Stone Variant Buttons/Pressure Plates

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 09:17 AM PDT

Like wood buttons and pressure plates have different textures for different kinds of wood, stone buttons and pressure plates could be made from smooth stone, andesite, diorite, granite, quarts, sandstone, cobble and prismarine. I think this would make for a really nice aesthetic option for both hiding or highlighting the plate. It would fit this update nicely in my opinion, what are your thoughts?

Biome dependent rain (different levels of rain in each biome)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 02:20 PM PDT

I believe everytime it rains there should be a chance it either does or doesn't precipitate depending on the biome you are in. Wetter biomes have a higher chance of getting rain, where as dryer biomes have a lower chance. How this would work is that everytime it rains the game would choose a number between 1 and 10. a 10 would signify rain in every biome (including deserts) while a 1 would signify no rain except in the wettest biomes (such as jungles and swamps) Everything in between would vary. To compensate for the rain having less of a chance of happening in your biome, I would have it rain more often in game (like 25% more often)

(if it doesn't rain it will just be cloudy)

Heres the rates for rain in each biome (out of 10)

    Jungles/Swamps-10

    ocean / mushroom biomes-9

    Roofed forrest - 8

    Forest 7

    Taiga-6

    Mountains-5

    Plains- 4

    Savana 3

    arctic tundra 2

    desert/mesa1

(other biomes can be determined this is just an example)

Edit (btw the numbers stand for the max or bellow for example Plains would receive rain at levels 4-1 but not for numbers 5-10)

    Food should be overhauled

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 05:17 AM PDT

The problem with food is that there are many different sources of food in the game, and the only differences between them is how much Hunger and Saturation they give you. Steak is overpowered. If you have a reliable pig or cow farm, there's no reason to ever eat a different kind of food.

In 1.13 they added dried kelp, which is a food source that only gives one hunger per kelp, but you eat it very quickly. I think every food item should have a certain eating speed, for example making melon and carrots a bit faster to eat than default, and food such as steak, porkchops, rabbit stew and pumpkin pie slower to eat because they give you more hunger when consumed. It would give more variety and more of a choice for people when choosing a main food source.

Certain types of food should give certain buffs, e.g. Cake gives you a short speed effect, Golden Carrots should give night vision (although only for a short time, otherwise there would be no point in brewing the potion), and maybe some kind of meat giving a short strength effect?

Thanks for reading my terrible writing

Normal stone should be useable when crafting "stone" tools...

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 02:56 PM PDT

It's so annoying when all i have is stone in the early game because i accidentally cooked it all... and i simply want a stone shovel or hoe it just doesn't take normal stone... it should be added that stone can be used to make STONE tools...

So should it work with other variants too.... it's still stone

    Coconuts and Coconut Milk

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 02:47 PM PDT

Coconut plants would spawn on the bottom of palm tree leaves, similarly how cocoa beans spawn on the sides of jungle trees.

Breaking a coconut plant would give you a coconut.

Coconuts could be eaten to get as many hunger points as cooked chicken and low saturation, but not as low saturation as cookies give.

Right clicking a coconut plant with a bucket would give you a Coconut Milk Bucket. Coconut Milk, just like Milk from a a cow, would get rid of status effects, with one difference. Coconut Milk would only get rid of negative status effects and would keep the positive status effects on the player.

    Villager to block interactions

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 06:34 AM PDT

With the upcoming 1.14 update coming to Minecraft. Villagers will have to interact with their profession blocks to restock on their items. However, by "interact", they just stare at it, them BAM, items refilled! And TBH, they don't really interact with anything much except with their profession blocks, so I propose this idea:

    All Villagers

    1. Bookshelves---If Mojang adds a free time in a villager's time schedules, they should sometimes go to the library (the building that has the most bookshelves), to pick up a book to read, a 3D book model will show up on their l hands (the same book model that is shown on a lectern)
    2. snow layers---when children play with others and there are snow nearby, they will pick up the snowballs to throw it at their fellow friends (like snowball fights in real life)

    Librarians

    1. Bookshelves---I know this is already in the game, but currently they just start at the bookshelves. When they so the books, they should unlink their hands to hold a 3D book model, the books model could be the same one that is shown on a lectern
    2. Lecterns---they should switch out the books on the lectern every once in a while

    Farmer

    1. sugar cane---If at a high enough level (look at villager badge to check rank), they will harvest the second block of a full sugar cane (although they won't go out of their way to find sugar cane, they only harvest them if there are any nearby)
    2. bamboo---just like sugar cane, they will harvest the second block, only does this if there are bamboo nearby
    3. composter---I know they already do this, but I think they should put extra stuff, like bamboo, sugar cane and seeds in the composters, if it is full, they will harvest the bone meal
    4. farmland---if they have bone meal in their inventory, they will bone meal a crop

    Iron Golems

iron golems technically aren't villagers, but they are related, so I will include them:

    1. Bells---When the raid boss bar thingy is charging up, the iron golem(s) will ring the bell, bells rung by iron golems will be heard by everyone so that everyone will go to their homes. If there are no bells in a village, then iron golems won't do anything while until the raid boss bar charges fully
    2. poppies---Iron golems should have a few hidden inventory spaces, because they should actually search poppies or any other flowers to hand to children

The smoke of campfires should be "dyeable" by the player

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 10:37 AM PDT

During the snapshots of Village and Pillage update, Mojang surprised us with the smoke signal features of campfires, which gave to these blocks even more possibilities beyond being a light source and an alternative furnace.

With smoke signals, the players are able to use campfires as an"Early game beacon", allowing the players to find their buildings on a far far away distances (ok not that far) and also are able to use them in redstone circuits.

What I'm suggesting is the addition of a way to players change the color of the smoke, right clicking a campfire while holding a dye. The smoke, after that, would have the color of the used dye. If you need to change the color again, for example, you just need to extinguish the fire, lit the campfire again and use the dye of your choice.

With this mechanic, the uses described above would be much more enjoyed by the community. Since distinguishing with smoke refers to the home of a specific player on a server, from providing a new way to enhance adventure map .

Also, with colorful smokes, redstone circuits that uses campi fires to hold data status (or other examples) could become even more complex and fun to build. Basically, this opens great new possibilities for all the community.

    Thoughts?

    Help for Making Good Suggestions

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 10:23 AM PDT

Hi there! My name's Dylan, and I'm an active suggestion maker for r/minecraftsuggestions & r/minecraftabnormals

Recently I've seen that this subreddit has been going downhill. People have been upvoting idiotic ideas (Learned from experience), without even thinking if it fits, or could fit. And so, I've put together this post to help people suggest better ideas, whether they are detailed or not, and so the community learns what they should be supporting.

    Step 1: Brainstorming Ideas

Start small. If your idea gets too big, start over. Think about an aspect of the game that requires expansion, or an easier way to get around things.

I usually have a random playthrough of the game & see what parts begin to bore me (Right now I'm looking at digging). With that, I now start thinking of ideas that help that piece of the game.

Currently I'm putting together an update-sized suggestion for caves & the Nether, which I call the Deeper & Deeper Update. I've been through hundreds of ideas, and have scrapped many of them so we can focus on what's important. There's no point in throwing in ideas just because "they're cool".

Step 2: Check the FPS List

Mojang have rejected certain ideas from the community. Those rejected ideas are put in the FPS List. Before sharing your idea, check the FPS List to see what you should avoid.

FPS List includes: Furniture, coloured light, magic, seasons, thirst meter, mods-to-vanilla, and many more.

A lot of people forget to do this, so I've tried to make this step stand out the most. JUST READ IT!!!

    Step 3: Organising the Suggestion.

A lot of people put annoying walls of text that nobody's bothered to read. Organising it into paragraphs or sections makes it much more visually pleasing.

Head over to Reddit's Formatting Guide if you struggle to create well-formatted posts (This mainly goes to phone users, as PC users have formatting buttons at the top of the text box to help them when editing)

Example: Introduction (What brought you to think of the idea), where the idea appears in the game, features of the idea, results for mining/killing/using/conquering the idea, conclusion (Summary, saying farewell etc).

I will use u/Axoladdy 's Up, Up & Update post (Not being biased) as an example. Instead of putting walls of text to describe features, he uses links to Imgur posts to squash the size of his post tremendously. With images to go with it, it's much more pleasing to read. It's also a genuinely good suggestion, so take notes ;)

    Step 4: Giving/Taking Feedback

When giving feedback, there's no need to start attacking the person using insults & threats. If you disagree with them, just downvote. Recently I was unfortunate enough to meet a toxic Pre-1.9 Combat supporter, who couldn't even compromise with an idea that could somewhat get in between 1.9 & 1.8. It was Pre-1.9 Combat or nothing for them.

When taking feedback, you shouldn't take things to heart. Be inspired by the advice & criticism people give, so you can flesh out the idea more. Remember that on r/minecraftsuggestions & r/minecraftabnormals, you can repost an idea, with any changes made, at least 1 month after you posted it last time.

The harsh reality of r/minecraftsuggestions & r/minecraftabnormals is that ideas cannot be accepted unless they're broad enough (Example: Brown mushrooms vs "The Void Crusher"). This is because of Article 13 in Europe. For solid ideas to be accepted, please also put them on Minecraft's feedback website.

This community has been bothersome to me for a while. I hope that giving you guys somewhat of an idea of what to do & what not to do helps out. I'll be back soon with my large suggestion to see if things have improved. As always, goodbye! :D

    Slab fossils

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 03:14 PM PDT

So basically slab-sized fossils can spawn in desert and swamp biomes. They can be buried by sand, making it hard for the player to find them. There could be 10 or so variants with fossils of parrots, ferns, mob skulls and other such items. They could only be collected with a pickaxe with silk touch. After a fossil has been collected, the variant will be consistent after you replace it (fossils with ferns will be fossils with ferns when they're replaced). They could also be placed on item frames, but will cover it and just be a vertical version of the fossil like maps. They might be able to be traded with villagers, which may put a use to them. This just seems like a nice thing to add so you have a purpose for going to the desert besides finding a temple.

The idea to share Bedrock Edition worlds to different devices.

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 12:21 PM PDT

My idea is to port bedrock worlds to different devices. I want this because I have a pretty great world on switch and when my brothers playing the switch and when I cant play it, its often annoying. The only way to do this is to use realms, but I dont want to spend money just to port a world. So please Mojang please add a feature to port worlds from consoles to other systems or devices that are compatible with Bedrock Edition. It would solve a lot. (im not sure if I already posted this or not but im going to do it again for safe measures)

Wood/leaves/etc. burns in the Nether. (Or fire and lava's range for catching things on fire is increased in the Nether.)

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 03:52 PM PDT

In the Nether, wood logs, wood planks, leaves, and other burnable blocks should spontaneously combust in the Nether when placed. (The Nether is a hot place!)

I'm mostly worried that this might severely inhibit building in the Nether, so perhaps it should only be under specific conditions. But I have a better idea.

Perhaps the range at which fire and lava can catch burnable blocks on fire should be increased in the Nether.

Poisonous Potatoes should have a use in potion brewing

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 10:45 PM PDT

This is arguably the single most useless item in Minecraft. You can't do anything with it besides eat it, but it has a high chance of harming you if you do, and unlike with Rotten Flesh you can't trade it. It would be great if you could use poisonous potatoes to brew potions of poison so they have at least some usage.

I saw the other suggestion about dogs (wolves) and thought it said cows. Was disappointed it wasnt about cows cause i would agree and so this suggestion was born.

There are so many cow variations in real life, i am no expert on them but i wouldn't be surprised if a cows spots where 100% unique to the cow itself.

    Update to overhaul Terrain Generation

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 09:30 PM PDT

The generation of worlds is pretty stale to be completely honest, it needs to be more layered because mountains, forests, biome transitions, they all feel the same. If there was a 1.7 Part 2 that added new biomes and mixed things up and would make more variants of generation, the world will seem less stale

P.S. Get rid of those water holes PLEASE!

    Sinking Rod

    Posted: 18 Mar 2019 12:30 AM PDT

A sinking rod, is basically a version of the Fishing Rod, but with iron in the crafting recipe to weigh the bob down. As a result, the bob sinks down, and you can haul up deep sea items like maps, prismarine, seagrass, and rarely, a trident!

But you can do more with this than just fish. You can hook entities with it. It does more damage and will have a greater pull on the entity due to the heavier bob. Like the original Fishing Rod, it can be enchanted with all the enchantments a Fishing Rod normally can. They are much rarer than normal fishing rods however.
