Posted: 22 Mar 2019 05:09 AM PDT The Nether is currently a bit bland compared to the over world, there aren't much structures and they don't look really nice, so for more variety I think Nether ruins should generate around the Nether. More explained here [link] [comments]
Horse Riding - Horses should steer like boats Posted: 22 Mar 2019 11:27 AM PDT When riding a horse, the horse's head is a permanent fixture directly in your way. This makes both fighting from horseback and viewing the landscape needlessly difficult. Bows are nearly impossible to use effectively, despite being a classic mounted weapon.
So: Horses should steer like boats, so that the rider can look, swing, shoot, etc. independently from where the horse is facing. This would allow riders to strafe targets with arrow fire, strike targets with weapons effectively, and navigate downhill without being blind to the terrain, etc. It would also more closely resemble actual riding, where the steed does not care where you are looking, but how you pull the reins. We really need a Nether update Posted: 22 Mar 2019 02:06 PM PDT Let's be honest the Nether is the blandest dimension, literally nothing so spectacular, only structure is the fortress, wich i admit looks sexy as hell (although it would still be nice to see it reworked out of the old blocky style to fit in with other new strucures more) but that's everything interesting-no nether ore, no bosses, nothing really, so id definietly propose something like nether wood (Red wood), a nether boss (Id imagine it looking like the baron of hell from Doom), a whole bunch of new structures and other things that would just make it feel more..filled. Wolves fetch weapons/armor you’ve dropped when you died Posted: 21 Mar 2019 08:55 PM PDT So when you die, a tamed wolf will bring back up to three weapons or armor pieces you dropped, but it can tell the difference between good items and bad items (e.g. if you have leather boots and diamond boots and you die, your wolf will bring back the diamond boots). Just a thought I had to make wolves more useful. [link] [comments]
Allow Data packs to make custom Smelting / Brewing etc recipes. Posted: 22 Mar 2019 01:08 PM PDT Now that we can customise crafting recipes, it'd be nice to do the same for smelting / brewing etc, this can make for a whole new set of maps and gameplay, just a whole set of things you could do. [link] [comments]
Chickens shed their feathers once in a while same as how they lay eggs Posted: 22 Mar 2019 04:27 AM PDT Let's say they lay eggs 4 times a day. They should shed their feathers or drop 1 once a day.. so you can gather feathers without having to kill them [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Mar 2019 02:48 PM PDT You should be able to draw on the maps with a feather, and a dye. For each dye, you get 32 pixels of drawing, and the pixel sized decrease with map size increases, so that old writing doesn't get screwed up with map size increases. You can use a sponge to erase any spot, and use a cauldron to clear the map of art, leaving the map parts to stay how they are. This would be cool because players could lay down borders for land claims, create art, or label anything cool or important. Although it might also be a good idea to create a new item called the canvas [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Mar 2019 08:19 PM PDT Shift-right click with an empty hand on tamed animals to have a simple petting animation, and an appropriate sound (cats purring, dogs panting, etc.) maybe a form of love heart particles? (not functionally similar to breeding hearts, just a nice visual) [link] [comments]
A new mob that can disguise itself as other passive/neutral mobs Posted: 21 Mar 2019 04:12 PM PDT At night it can walk around normally, but in the day time, it will disguise itself as a passive/neutral mob, maybe copies the closest one nearby, and will reveal itself if the player gets too close or provokes it. A 1/16 change to smelt a extra ore in the new blast furnace Posted: 22 Mar 2019 06:05 AM PDT A real reason to make the new blast furnace next to the fact that they smelt a bit faster Having a change that it would smelt an extra ore. For example. If you put in 64 iron ore you could end up with 70+ ingots instead of the regular 64 [link] [comments]
Small little details and events in the night sky Posted: 22 Mar 2019 02:34 PM PDT I always thought the night sky could be improved upon. It just seems the same. Stars and moon. This is more for visual reasons and whatnot. Shooting stars and comets - Sometimes at night, you may see glowing trails that last a few seconds. They come in 2 colors: Shooting Stars will be usually orange and yellow, and Comets will be white. There isn't actually any form of impact though. Colored stars: Sometimes in the night sky, some stars will be colored with a tint or glow of light blue, yellow, orange, brown, gray or purple. This would represent other neighboring planets. I thought this would be interesting as well. Cosmic dust: Sometimes at night, there will be large and somewhat translucent patches of green, purple, red, yellow, orange, dark blue and white, this would represent cosmic dust in space. These can come in all sorts of shapes and forms. Aurora Borealis: This one only applies to the cold biomes, but at night in wintery biomes, you may see aurora borealis. Blood moon: Rarely at times, the moon would spawn with a tint of red. Just like a real life blood moon. It would also look slightly bigger. This one would actually be effective because it's dangerous. It would double the spawn rate of hostile mobs at night and actually increase the chances of skeletons and zombies spawning with armor, or riding something. This is more for aesthetics and doesn't effect overall gameplay, but I think people would like this nonetheless. [link] [comments]
Food diversity bonus (improved hunger system) Posted: 22 Mar 2019 01:55 PM PDT The problem with food in minecraft as we all know is that players are not encouraged to diverse their diets. I want to suggest a new hunger system which depends on diversifying what you eat. Here is what we should do: *Reduce the hunger value of all food *Introduce a new secondary hunger value (could be a range of 0-4.5) which is determined on how much of that food has the spesific player eaten recently. *The longer a food item goes without being consumed the more its nutritional value would go up How it will benefit the game *Players are encouraged to plant crops, fish and breed animals. *There will be a reason to craft items such as bread, pumpkin pie, beetroot soup, mushroom soup and rabbit stew. Thank you [link] [comments]
Smithing and Fletching Table Idea - Arrow Heads and Gem Upgrades. Posted: 22 Mar 2019 12:40 PM PDT I made this some time ago and It was on how the fletching table worked and I recently added the smithing table properties as well. Hope you enjoy. Arrow heads - With the addition of the crossbow and the need to craft more arrows to deal more damage as infinity will probably remain a bow exclusive. Why not introduce, arrow heads that could be mixed and matched with different potion effects to make really interesting combinations that would be fun to make maps around and use in pvp and pve. Types of Arrow Heads
In theory all these types of arrowheads could be combined with certain potions to make really strong arrows. This would not only work as a major pvp enhancement, also as a good pve element as well. The Quiver - Has 8 slots, only can be used for arrows with the first slot taking priority over your off hand and other arrows in your inventory. Being able to switch to different arrows via a shift + 1 - 8 without entering the quiver.
Now in saying all this I have no clue, if Mojang and or Java even has the capability to change the speed of arrows like I'm suggesting or if they even, are considering the quiver as a thing anymore. But, in any case I think this would be a nice change for ranged combat as it suits the new crossbow quite nicely in my opinion. -------------------- For the Smithing Table this is what I thought of. I realize what I'm about to suggest Ore wise is already on the Frequent Posts List and I'm for the most part just using the individual gems as examples. Any gem would work. The three new ores that would be added would be, Amber (Orange), Amethyst (Purple) and Onyx (Black). Each having unique variants and properties when combined with any of the six tools. (Including shears) All of which spawning in individual biomes, enhancing the need for exploration. The three variants of each gem would be, Fragmented, Normal and Flawless. Fragmented is only a piece of a whole gem and only provides half of the normal extension of the gem. Combining two fragmented gems in your crafting bench would produce a normal gem and providing a full extension. Flawless would be nearly the same as a normal gem, but provides double the extension. So laying it more simply.
Getting to the gems now. Amber, would mainly have to do with damage and only spawns in Birch forests. So when combining an amber to a sword, trident, bow, crossbow or axe the damage of the specific weapon would increase depending on the property of the gem.
Amethyst, would have to do with durability and only spawn in mesas. So when combining with any tool or shield they would go up by 16, 32 or 64 durability depending on the gem variant. This ideally could also be used on armor. Didn't think of the other uses for armor though. (I'm unsure of this one, as once the player gets mending it's practically useless.) Onyx, would have to do with range and only spawn in jungles. When combining with any tool or weapon it would increase the tool or weapons reach by one block. Allowing for the player to mine farther or hit a mob one more block away. Again being doubled or halved depending on the variant. -------------------- You would be able to add up to three of these gems to one tool. So three of one, two of one and one of another or one of each. You could also apply these to a tool with enchantments as well. Each would have the drop rate of emeralds and be increased with fortune. Having similar texture to emeralds as well, besides color. Could even add a gemologist villager to trade emeralds for those specific gems and or diamonds or vice versa. I have no clue if this would be balanced, it's something I thought of. Thanks for reading. :D [link] [comments]
Rivers have a current of some sort Posted: 22 Mar 2019 03:43 PM PDT I don't know how it'll work, but rivers will have a direction it runs. It doesn't necessarily have to be fast, but it just makes rivers seem less static. Salmon will also swim against this current, as that's what they do in the wild. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Mar 2019 11:45 AM PDT We know iron farms are getting nerfed. My thinking is that if we add a new biome that will spawn Stonehenge things. There will be druids that you sacrifice things to. Kinda just disappears with a cloud of smoke. Then you get a bit of iron. Only one sacrifice at a time. Easier than iron farms as we know them, slower but not completly useless and pretty balanced. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Mar 2019 12:18 AM PDT This is the sand version of the snow golem. It will not survive outside deserts and mesas, takes damage from rain, and dies instantly in water. It is capable of shooting blocks of sand at hostile entities, even creepers! But it is weaker than the snow golem, and has less hp due to sand having much looser particles than snow. The sand golem can also be made out of red sand. Can summon vicious sandatorms that damage all mobs except desert ones. (Half a heart every few ticks). During a sandstorm, non-desert mobs will hide in shade where they will not be hurt. Use a building for more protection. [link] [comments]
Onyx - a delightfully cursed stone Posted: 21 Mar 2019 08:40 PM PDT Texture hereObtainmentOnyx would be found in either the nether or end, around 10 blocks underground if End, or around 30-40 blocks down if in the Nether.
UseYou would be able to put this stone into an enchanting table instead of lapis, except all that would show up would be mostly cursed items as opposed to mostly regular enchantment. You could also possibly use it for some malevolent splash potions, though I don't know what specifically. [link] [comments]
Very slight suggestion regarding birds and chickens Posted: 22 Mar 2019 01:22 PM PDT I have a suggestion for a small feature that would make much more sense regarding chickens (and birds, should they be added) and feathers. Instead of having to kill a chicken for its feathers, a feather should drop per every time someone hits a chicken, as it they were plucking feathers straight from the body. This would be cruel, sure, but much less so than having to kill chickens every time you just want feathers. Another idea to add on to this one would be to have chickens drop around 5-20 more feathers upon death. If you kill a chicken for its feathers in real life, why just take one or two, anyways? You should be able to choose your TU on console like in Java Posted: 21 Mar 2019 10:57 PM PDT Sometimes a man just wants to play classic Minecraft. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Mar 2019 03:33 AM PDT This invisible mob travels towards villages or houses (defined by presence of beds) [if none are present move towards nearest player within 30 blocks] {if players also absent, move towards nearest light source} and posses a random block within 10-block vicinity. at night, possessed block is active and moves towards nearest player within 30 blocks. if a wall separates the poltergeist and player, posses the next nearest block towards player. damage dealt varies from block to block and only way to destroy is by mining the block possessed with normally most effective tool 2 consecutive times. in the day, it will posses the nearest block and stay until night comes. if block is damaged in the day, it inflicts the nausea effect, elder guardian in front of face effect and flees to the furthest block in a 100 block range. upon defeat, drops 1-3 soul essence and flies to the furthest block 1000 blocks away (cause poltergeists cannot die). soul essences can be mixed with a block of choice to create a troll block which when interacted with, inflicts nausea, 2 hearts of damage and spawns 10 squids, thus destroying the block [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Mar 2019 08:27 PM PDT These are found randomly in the Nether, and are a Nether brick equivalent of real life fountains, with running lava. This will help add some beauty to the dimension. [link] [comments]
Minecraft dedicated servers on console. Posted: 22 Mar 2019 10:34 AM PDT I actually don't understand why this has not been implemented. You literally can join someone else that is playing Minecraft if he is in your friend list, but you can't join an ip of some kind? It's annoying to have a computer running a profile and needing to go to that computer and right click to sleep. For some reason this is on pc and mobile but not on console... [link] [comments] |
