The Ball- a fun novelty item for catching and throwing! Posted: 24 Apr 2019 07:49 AM PDT The ball is a novelty item that can be crafted in a shapeless recipe involving a block of wool, a piece of leather, and some string. It's a ball that you can throw, with a similar/identical arc to an Ender Pearl. Upon hitting a block or an entity, it will drop as an item. Upon hitting a player, it will deposit itself in the player's inventory. This is not meant to be useful, it is meant to be a novelty item for having fun with. Note: it doesn't function like a physical object in the world. It is a projectile, similar to ender pearl or snowballs. It doesn't roll, it drops as an item upon hitting something that isn't a player. Some additional ideas:

Posted: 24 Apr 2019 01:45 PM PDT I think infinite stronghold spawning is a feature that should already exist in the game. When you try to venture far from spawn, for example 100k+ blocks out, you basically have 0 access to the end. The term "infinite world" becomes pretty untrue when you are limited to stay near the spawn in order to access an end portal. Instead of only spawning 120 strongholds in a world make them spawn infinitely TLDR: I play an SMP where I live far from spawn and I can't go to the end because of the way portal spawning works. Posted: 24 Apr 2019 02:12 PM PDT It surprises me the Elytra doesn't have a unique to itself enchantment. Crossbows, Tridents, Swords, Armor and Tools all have unique enchantments and the Elytra doesn't have any. Here are a few ideas I had thinking about it: Deep Dive: (levels 1 and 2) This Enchantment makes your diving speed faster, with lvl 1 your Elytra dive speed is increased by 1.5, with lvl 2, its dive speed is increased by 2. This would be useful to players because the quicker the dive, the quicker the flight up and a longer fly around. This idea seems useful to me because some people may run out of fireworks or not have the ingredients. Airborne Razer: This is a 1 level thing only, like multishot. I'm not sure if thorns can be applied, if I'm not wrong you can only do this in creative mode. But Incase if can't in survival mode, this is like thorns but for Elytra. Basically, anything that touches your Elytra will be damaged. Wether that be through a hit and run or by getting behind you. Approximately 0.5-1 heart of damage Salvation: (Levels 1, 2 and 3) Sometimes you don't got a potion of slow falling or you're about to get into a bad impact, or you need to make a quick impact to get to an important point, but you'll get damaged and/or die. Salvation is an enchantment that gives you protection against impact damage during a high speed Elytra crash. Lvl 1 saves you 1 and a quarter of a heart on impact, 2 saves you 1 and 3/4 of hearts , 3 saves you 3 and a half hearts upon impact. Pyromaniac: (Levels 1, 2 and 3) This is an enchantment that upgrades the duration of your fireworks boost. If you had a firework with the duration of 1, it would get upgraded to 2, if you had one with 2, boosted up to 3, 3, gets boosted up to 4, which isn't obtainable in crafting. Those are my ideas. They may not be the coolest or not the most useful or whatever, but I think it would still be interesting because people seem to love Elytras. [link] [comments] |
Villagers should NOT be able to sleep in beds in the Nether. Posted: 24 Apr 2019 10:46 AM PDT Instead, the beds should explode like when a player tries to sleep in a Nether bed. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Apr 2019 06:42 PM PDT Someone suggested this years ago, at least in a simplified form... -I'm an old-timer and I get radiating pain from holding down shift. (So old school I call cap locks shift lock). It would be great if cap locks worked as a shift lock- that is, when you hit it it would lock your shift- you'd stay in crouch mode. I think, functionally, it would work best if hitting space bar still let you jump. It could either disengage shift, or better yet, just let you jump from crouch. Basically, all it would do is give you crouch functionality without having to hold down the key. I don't really care about the 'sneak' part of it (although I suppose in PvP it could be useful), but on builds where you are high up you can end up having to hold crouch to keep from falling for long stretches and I am literally ending up with spasms from it. More options for making banners Posted: 24 Apr 2019 02:31 PM PDT I really enjoy the new banner system released with 1.14, however I feel like the options for what you can do with them are a bit scarce. My example is last night i was attempting to make a gay pride flag for my house in a realm i belong to and i realized it wasn't possible to do that. My suggestion is to add evenly spaced horizontal and vertical solid bars to the loom in order to make pride flags and other similar flags. I would love to see this added to the game and would most definitely use it often as well as add more viability with banners. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Apr 2019 02:20 PM PDT Love the Lectern, but I would like it if when a book and quill is in there, you should be able to write in it without having to take out the book everytime. Thanks, love the new update! [link] [comments] |
Refined diamonds, emeralds & quartz Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:58 PM PDT Some people might say that the current diamond, emerald, & quartz textures ingame are a bit too uncut. Honestly, emeralds and diamonds are way too blue or green, but with quartz, it's just kinda ugly. You already read the title, so let's go. Crafting: Since the 1.14 update came out we were introduced to the new stonecutter. So a recipe for a new type of crafting table (called the refinery) would be a crafting table in the center, a stonecutter in the top center, and iron in the top corners and middle left and right. Here's an example: Iron ingot = [I] Crafting Table = [C] Stonecutter = [S] None = [/] [I][S][I] [I][C][I] [/][/][/] Some of you may be thinking, "That sounds really cheap." But, there's a catch. The refinery has to be fueled by something. (I'm not sure yet, but eyes of ender, blaze powder, or nether stars sound like a good idea, tell me your ideas) The fuel provided would fuel for about 25 or so uses, and the UI would be exactly like the furnace. Uses: Refined diamonds can be used to make your armor better, in both a visual and protective way. (The armor might be a small bit transparent) You can also apply it to tools. Every tool would be a small bit more efficient, like a fifth of a second off block breaking time. The sword would also deal an extra full heart of damage. (The diamond bit of tools would also be a small bit transparent) With refined emeralds, you can keep on crashing the village economy by trading refined emeralds, which are the value of 2 emeralds. (A fifty percent discount. YAY!) But besides that, emeralds are still useless. With refined quartz, more beautiful quartz blocks can be crafted, and more redstone components can be made aswell. That's pretty much it. I don't have any more things to add so I will be open for suggestions. (Thanks to people who sort by new, by the way) [link] [comments] |
Pigs Should Roll Around In Coarse Dirt As If It Were Mud. Posted: 23 Apr 2019 09:40 PM PDT I think it could add a nice touch to the game if pigs rolled around in coarse dirt as if it were mud, it could also add more life to the game. I know coarse dirt isn't mud but it is the closest thing we have. I know it's simple and adds nothing useful to the game but it would be a nice life addition if they were to do that, considering pigs are rather bland in life compared to other mobs. Anyway that was my idea, please let me know if you disliked it or have a suggestion, thank you! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Apr 2019 04:07 PM PDT It would be an enderman with green eyes.It would be completely passive and be would be able to pick up animals and "pet them" It could also possibly pick up a player and "pet" them [link] [comments] |
Change Banners to be Placed on the Top Half and Bottom Half of a Block's Side. Posted: 24 Apr 2019 03:24 PM PDT Banners are cool and all, but it would be nice if they didn't take up a full block space when hung on a wall. By this I mean to say that it would be nice if they worked similar to slabs, in that a banner would only take up half of a block space, but only when hung on the side of a block. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Apr 2019 06:10 PM PDT Splash potions should be able to be launched from crossbows. increasing range and dealing no extra damage with small knockback. Like snowballs. [link] [comments] |
A idea to make Multishot a tiered enchantment Posted: 24 Apr 2019 06:08 AM PDT Change the effect of multishot enchantment to this: So level 1 will shoot 3 arrows, level 2 will shoot 5 arrows, etc To balanced this, you are only able to get level 1 enchantments from enchantment tables or villagers and you can only get up to level 3 with anvils. (this is possible since they have similar thing in the April fool snapshot and also it can be done on bedrock with some nbt editing) [link] [comments] |
Low-range Mob Repellents and wide-range lighting - dealing with mob spawning Posted: 24 Apr 2019 09:36 AM PDT In the current game, if you want your base to be a safe place, you have to light up the entire area or build everything made of slabs and stairs. I have a video that explains my idea and the reasoning behind it, but to keep it short: I suggest Mob Repellents that prevent hostile mobs from spawning in 24 blocks cuboid, and light source that emits light level of 10, but does it on a way bigger area, than your usual light source. The first thing will allow us to use darkness in our buildings and mobproof the area at the same time. The second thing will allow us to not have ugly carpets or visible light sources everywhere. Sometimes you don't want to have those, because they might not fit the style of your building, and it's way easier to hide just 1 light source, rather than 5. In modded minecraft, you can easily see the spawnable spots, and since we already have plenty of behind-the-scenes info like coordinated, chunk borders etc, being able to see the spawnable spots fits vanilla minecraft pretty well. I believe that those 3 suggestions together will allow players to make their bases safe from mobs without compromising on aesthetics. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Apr 2019 11:34 AM PDT Man-Eating Plants are hostile plant mobs and would bite the player if too close. They will also attack other mobs smaller than them. They look like venus fly traps but they are about the size of a ravager. Man-Eating Plants have 30 (x15) hearts of health. Man-Eating Plants spawn in Jungle and Swamp biomes on land. Along with Shulkers, Man-Eating Plants are mobs that do not move, even the Levitation Effect won't move them at all. Man-Eating plants will find dropped food items on the floor nearby and eat them. For example, drop a food item near a Man-Eating Plant, the plant will eat it. Man-Eating Plants will drop 0-5 seeds when killed. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Apr 2019 05:08 AM PDT Just an idea in early stages. Wouldn't it be cool if we could craft carts that horses could pull? Store chests and hold multiple players. To make these carts/ wagons a new crafting station could be added where you can customise your cart, weather it be more players/ passengers, more storage space, make diamond/ iron/ gold wheels to make it go faster or have more horses pull the cart. Carts could also be used as a moving house. This idea is only in early stages, I think it would be cool to have this in MC tell me your ideas and improvements and mabye this could be added. Posted: 23 Apr 2019 07:43 PM PDT The slime we have right now is pretty useless, other than crafting the lead and sticky pistons. I think it's time for an upgrade, and this is what should happen.
Overall, slimes aren't really worth searching for because of just the slime balls. With their rare spawn chance, we definitely need some changes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Apr 2019 06:54 AM PDT It would be cool on bigger servers to be able to hold tab and press the numbers to see different pages. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 24 Apr 2019 10:12 AM PDT Minecraft hasn't had a new ore in a long time and its about time it had! A new ore such as titanium could hugely change the game in the following reasons: Titanium. -Found between levels 1 - 5 (bedrock and 5 levels above the first layer of bedrock) -Rarer than emeralds -Generates in patches/ groups of 1, 2 or 3 -No more than 5 titanium ore can be found in one chunk -Can only be mined with a diamond pickaxe or titanium pickaxe (more on that later) -If titanium ore is mined with a wooden, stone or gold pickaxe not only will you get nothing, the pickaxe will also instantly be destroyed, no matter what enchantments it has! -Generates in ore form -Ore can only be smelted in the Blaster -You can only get 1 piece of ore from the ore even when mining it with fortune. -Stronger than obsidian (ore takes slightly longer to mine), resistant to tnt/ explosions -Can be crafted into blocks, 4 titanium ingots are needed to make 1 block. One block with take 4 times as long to mine than the ore -Max level villagers will trade 1 titanium block for something ridiculous (undecided just yet, maybe xp/ levels, maybe the dragon egg (giving it a use)) Attention I understand the statement about titanium in the 'Rule's FPS section', but as iv said adding titanium would change mining as you have to mine further down and at just how rare this material is! Tools and armour. -Titanium tools and armour can be crafted, they will be 10 times more durable than their respective diamond tool/ armour. This will mean only certain enchantments can be allowed to be put on them- On tools- Only silk touch, fortune, looting, fire aspect and knock back can be applied. And on armour- Only Aqua affinity, respiration, frostwalker and feather falling may be applied. -Tools also deal more damage, +3 what the diamond variant of the tool would do (making a titanium sword do 10 damage (unenchanted)) -Tools such as pickaxe, axe and shovel will be more efficient than the diamond variant of it e.g. a titanium pickaxe will mine faster than a diamond pickaxe enchanted with efficiency 1. -A titanium hoe will be no different to a diamond hoe except for durability ofc. This is just an early idea i had so if titanium was to be added not everything would be like this. Please feel free to leave suggestions/ add ons to my idea. Also if you do not like the idea please dont hate, just leave your downvote and scroll past. Thank you [link] [comments] |
Item rarity affects vulnerability to destruction Posted: 23 Apr 2019 11:27 PM PDT Regulae septimam memores ("remember rule seven") https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Rarity Item rarity is a quality of items in Minecraft. At the moment, it's only aesthetic, but I'd like for it to actually do something. So here's what I think: If the item's rarity is Uncommon, Rare, or Epic, cacti can't destroy it; if its rarity is Rare or Epic, explosions can't destroy it; if its rarity is Epic, fire and lava can't destroy it. (Lava would keep these items afloat.) Of course, all items would maintain their 5-minute despawn timer. What this would entail: Cacti aren't that common, but their item destroying capabilities are ridiculous, so this would mitigate that (you know, if you die near a cactus or something). Explosions near your items are very uncommon (because explosions mostly occur when you're alive without your items scattered around), but they are devastating if they happen. This is to mitigate that somewhat. Lava is common, and it's by design that lava's a threat anyway. However, at least you should keep your truly OP items should you fall into its deathly grasp. What you get to keep:
...Okay, so effectively only enchanted golden apples. That's, uh, keeping it balanced and fair? Okay but seriously, would love feedback :) [link] [comments] |
