Minecraft Mob Heads As Loot In Dungeons

Mob Heads As Loot In Dungeons

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 07:38 AM PDT

These would add some more interest and spice to dungeons, and give the player a small trophy after conquering a dungeon. However, these would be rare pieces of loot. This would also be another way to attain mob heads, and the head would correspond to the mob that spawns in that dungeon (Ex: Zombie spawner = zombie head loot).

    Mangroves, Mangrove Trees and Manatees

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 10:54 AM PDT

    Mangroves:

    Mangroves would be new biomes.

This biome is located inside Warm And Lukewarm Ocean biomes, but Mangroves are not seen submerged underwater.

There are 2 types of regions of the Mangrove Biome, Dry Mangroves and Wet Mangroves.

    Dry region:

The parts of the mangrove above the water level are composed of dry dirt and sand. Here, there would be new trees called Mangrove Trees, and they would generate here. Vines hang from many of the Mangrove Trees.

Grass and ferns are common on the ground, and flowers may also be found here, though rarely. Slimes may spawn at night between the heights of 50 and 70 provided the light level is 7 or less. They spawn most often on a full moon, and never on a new moon. Slimes also spawn in the Mangrove biomes as well in the Swamp biomes. But the Slimes only spawn in the dry region of the Mangrove, not the wet region.

Here's a link so you could see what the dry region of the Mangrove biome would look like. (https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/lotrminecraftmod/images/e/ec/FarHaradMangrove_Dry.png/revision/latest?cb=20150612152839)

    Mangrove Trees:

Mangrove Trees would be new trees exclusive to the Mangrove biomes. The bark of these trees are pale grey, they often have vines hanging down from the leaves of these trees. They have a unique rootlike sections at the bottom of their trunk. Their Logs can be used to make Mangrove Planks, Fences, Gates, Slabs, Logs, Stairs, and Wood.

Here's a link so you could see what the Mangrove Tree would look like. (https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/lotrminecraftmod/images/a/a0/MangroveTree.png/revision/latest?cb=20160531235220)

    Wet region:

Much of the Mangrove biome is below water level. These areas resemble some of the Swamp Biomes. not-so murky water (the water in the Mangrove biomes would be the same colour as the water in Warm Ocean biomes) and lily pads. Clay can also be found here.

The main difference between the mangrove and other swampy biomes is the amount of trees growing in the water here. Many waterlogged Mangrove Trees reach out of the depths. There are also dead Mangrove trunks in the water. Turtles would be one of the mobs spawning in the wet region. Seagrass and Coral reefs would also generate in the Mangrove underwater, and the reefs would be home to Tropical Fish, but not Pufferfish. New mobs called Manatees would also spawn in the wet regions of the Mangrove biomes underwater.

Here's a link so you could see what the wet region of the Mangrove biome would look like. (https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/lotrminecraftmod/images/c/c8/FarHaradMangrove_Wet.png/revision/latest?cb=20150612152857)

    Manatees:

Manatees would be new passive, aquatic mobs exclusive to the Mangrove biomes. They have 10 health points (5 hearts). They would spawn in the wet regions of the Mangrove biomes underwater, and also in Lukewarm Ocean biomes. They would have the same swimming animation as a Dolphin. You can lure, grow and breed them with Seagrass. They would drop 0-2 Seagrass when killed. They will also drop 1-3 XP only when killed by a Player or tamed Wolf.

Breaking furnaces with XP stored in them should drop the XP

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 08:32 AM PDT

Currently if you have been smelting a lot in an automatic furnace it stores the XP, however the only way to get it is to take an item out of the furnace, and braking the furnace wastes all the XP

I think breaking it should give you all the do stored, so you di g accidentally waste levels

Im making a giant map wall in java and it all ends up looking like the same colored grass

It would be cool if the biome colors would show on up on maps. I think this feature is already in bedrock...

    Unique Mushrooms for the Nether!

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 06:23 AM PDT

    IMGUR ALBUM!

    BLEEDING HEART

    - The Bleeding Heart replaces Red Mushrooms in the Nether. Mundane Potions can now only be brewed with this mushroom. Using bonemeal on the Bleeding Heat causes it to grow into a large cone-shaped mushroom. The mushroom blocks will attract all Zombie Pigmen in a 8x8 radius, due to the droplets of sweet "blood" (actually sap) it produces.

    - This mushroom is a reference to the Bleeding Tooth Fungus, in the name and its behavior of producing sap.

    DECAYENE

    - The Decayene replaces Brown Mushrooms in the Nether. Thick Potions can now only be brewed with this mushroom. Using bonemeal on the Decayene causes it to grow into a spherical, bulb-like mushroom. The mushroom blocks will repel all Zombie Pigmen in a 8x8 radius, due to the extremely irritating fumes it produces.

    - The name is a portmanteau of "decay" and "cayenne", referencing the rotten look of the fungus and the irritating fumes it produces.

    NETHER STEW

    - Using 1 Bleeding Heart ad 1 Decayene in a bowl grants Nether Stew. Nether Stew gives 2 seconds of Nausea when consumed, but restores 7 hunger points and 10 saturation points.

Swimming in lava should be like swimming in water in the Nether

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 12:28 AM PDT

Because in the Nether, lava has viscosity like that of water. Since its much thinner than it usually is when in the Overworld, lava should be really easy to swim in when in the Nether, adding more realism to controls. You will still be on fire and take damage though.

[META] Can we please add "lightning striking sand turns it into glass" to the FPS list?

I think this screenshot explains itself. There are even more if you search "lightning sand glass". I'm honestly surprised it's not on the list already.

Give jungle villages an eastern architecture style

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 09:19 AM PDT

Nearly every biome has it's own architectural style, so why not give jungles one that stands out more? What if an Asian or southeast Asian style was added to them? Your thoughts?

    Decorative Quartz Statues

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 07:25 AM PDT

A decorative item that could be equipped with other items and posed. It should be crafted with an armour stand in the middle of the crafting table surrounded by either quartz or quartz blocks. You could also put vines on it to make it look mossy and old.

They would by default be taking up two blocks, either height wise or length wise. Using for of them in a crafting recipe would make a bigger statue, taking up 8 blocks.

Mining it would drop a broken statue which would look much more tethered. If mined, it would drop 5 quartz.

It would look very similar to the model of a villager but be slightly more rounded out.

You could make alternative versions by replacing the quartz right above the armour stand with a specific item, like fish to make a cat statue, bone to make a skeleton and so on.

They would be posed by the player right clicking while not holding an item and equipped by right clicking by holding one. Animals would hold it in their mouths.

Armour can only be equipped to certain animals in a way that they would be wearing it.

I think this has massive decorative potential, especially for people who like to build castles as they could make sort of gargoyles.

Statues of cats and ocelots could also scare off creepers so it would be a way to keep them out of your house.

If that's not enough use for statues they could also have an enchantment that would make mobs not spawn in their vicinity regardless of light level. It could be called Guarding.

Edit: They could also be dyed as per suggestion of u/averagedark and posing them could also give of a redstone signal.

When AFK, your character nods their heads forward as if sleeping

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 01:51 AM PDT

Perhaps this would look a bit too odd, but I thought it would be nice to have an in-game indicator that someone has been AFK for more than, say, a minute or two.

Lanterns can be turned off/on with redstone or by hand.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 03:33 PM PDT

Lanterns being a more expensive but also more bright counterpart to torches, it is only logical to be able to turn them off/on manually or with redstone. This can be good for building if you want to use a lantern but don't want it on or want it to be on at certain times using a daylight sensor.

    New Curse: Curse of Sinking

    Posted: 14 Jul 2019 10:01 PM PDT

Curse of Sinking is a curse specific to boots. Wearing a pair of boots with this curse will disable their ability to swim, pulling the player down faster over time as they fall to the bottom. Personally, I think that the player should still be able to jump one block high with the boots on underwater, just so they aren't a definite kill without any water breathing items, but that's just me. What do you think?

Add a structure (a dry streambed, or an hermitage, an abandoned tower, or a cliff nook with a furnace and crafting table, or...) that generates in mesa biomes.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 10:42 AM PDT

Despite what objections this may raise, it would mean that we could easily find mesa biomes via the locate command. Those who preferred finding them the good old fashioned way could still do so.

Yes, the mesa is meant to be a dead, scorching wasteland. However, the plateaus have shaded areas where someone might build a dwelling or structure, even if a small one. There are villages in the cold tundra and in deserts; there are even ruins on the bottom of the ocean now. There is nothing which would prevent someone (foolhardy or desperate or looking for riches) from having tried to live in the Mesa biome at some point, and left a structure.

Jungles, deserts and swamps already have structures in them that allow you to find them, even though they are relatively rare.

If you would like, I can send graphics of some proposed structures, as I know this suggestion is rather vague.

Sheep, cows, and chicken should not drop anything other than cooked meat when dying of fire.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 03:04 PM PDT

The extra drops I'm referring to are wool, leather, and feathers. These items should be considered burnt by the flames.

I call it an even trade because you get the cooked meat but you lose the secondary drop. More realistic.

    Whole new dimension

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 01:26 PM PDT

Sorry about formatting, written on mobile.

A lot of people have been suggesting a sort of "reverse" dimension that replicates structures and world generation in the over world with new blocks. But why does it have to be a reverse overworld? I bring you: Sveldheim (working title based on Norse mythology). A world of ice and inflammable blocks. Any lava placed would instantly turn to obsidian. Entering the water in the vast, frigid oceans would give you slowness. Under the ice would be mammoth fossils of icey horrors long forgotten. The only remains of a society that dared venture into the eternal winter would be the Frigid Keeps, walls of stone and ice similar in function to nether fortresses. But why would I waste time entering Sveldheim if there's no unique loot? Because it has something that hunters and gladiators alike would covet: dry ice. Dry ice could be thrown like snowballs to temporarily freeze mobs and give players slowness. It could be crafted into blocks to create a cinematic shroud of steam when placed in water. More things could be added later. But Sveldheim has monsters too. They're basically just cold themed nether beasts. • Chattering: passive zombies that carry swords, which give weakness if you get hit. • Whimpersouls: jet black creatures like ghasts, but with icicles instead of tentacles. They fire projectiles that look like snowballs and give slowness, weakness, and nausea to creatures within a certain radius. • Snow Jellies: this dimension's slimes. If you throw potions at them, it will have no effect, but that potion effect will be applied to you if you are attacked by the snow jelly. • Blizzards: like a cold themed blaze, but its attacks do no damage. Instead, you get blindness.

The portal would be made using packed ice and throwing a splash water bottle at the frame

    Villager Jacket

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 10:38 AM PDT

A Villager Jacket would be a chestplate item that is kind of like the Turtle Shell/Elytra in the way you trade good defense for a boost. When wearing the Villager Jacket trades with villagers could be 10-15% off, has low max durability, and no defense. It can be repaired with Leather. How do you get it? You craft it with items villagers can give you when you have Hero of the Village! Here is which profession gives the items needed:

    Toolsmith: Emerald Belt (5%)

Leatherworker: Cleaned Leather (15%) [Could not think of any other name]

    Shepard: Cloth (15%)

This is the Recipe in the Crafting Table (E= Emerald Belt, L = Cleaned Leather, C = Cloth, X = Nothing):

    Stone brick pillars.

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 11:20 AM PDT

We have stone brick blocks, chiseled bricks but we don't have a pillar, like with quartz we have block pillar and chiseled. This would add many new building opportunities.

    Extended lantern chains!

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 03:45 PM PDT

The chain on lanterns would be a great feature to bring more into creative building. For example, being able to place a lantern on the ceiling and then add more lanterns to make it drop lower would be amazing. Or even add the chain block as a separate block. Here is an example: https://i.imgur.com/AxQHfL5.png

    A change to mine carts

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 05:02 PM PDT

I already typed this once and instead of posting it reddit decided to delete it -_- so it may be a bit shorter than it was before.

This would be a rather drastic change to rails and mine carts as a whole. I'm aware something similar has been suggested on this sub Reddit before, but I add on quite a bit on to it.

In this update, you could place any block or liquid in a mine cart. Now this would allow for one thing people have wanted for awhile, dispensers/droppers in mine carts, but also could allow for some way more complex ideas as well.

What if a piston faced downward in a mine cart would launch the mine cart upward when activated? Or pistons facing upward could allow for some interesting redstone machines by pushing blocks above them. Not to mention that this would allow for furnaces in mine carts, adding back mine cart trains. You could also have hoppers feeding into the furnace from other carts, allowing for more than just a stack of fuel in the furnace.

I also propose a small change to dispensers. I suggest that dispensers could place items that are not full blocks. This includes torches, string, redstone dust, or importantly in this case, rails.

This would allow for a mine cart train with a dispenser that placed rails as it went along. This would allow for a mine cart train that could place torches around an area.

Think of all the possibilities his would add for automation. I am open to feedback.

I had an idea regarding the berries in minecraft

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 10:31 AM PDT

What if roasted berries was a thing? The regular version of berries in minecraft isn't that great. It only restores hunger one point at a time. So do carrots, and potatoes probably. But carrots and potatoes can become something more. Why shouldn't you be able to do the same with this berries? I don't know if roasted berries sound plausible. But perhaps it could be that something more. So that that it has a something more like the other food items I listed.

Make the beacon beam able to be turned off

    Posted: 15 Jul 2019 01:39 AM PDT

The beacon is great for building, but sometimes in survival you want haste in your building area but a beacon beam could make it not look as good.

Here's what I propose. You could either 1) be able to disable it in the beacon GUI or 2) a gamerule that disables beacon beams eg. /gamerule disableBeaconBeam true

This would be more for survival builds and smp servers. Sometimes having jump boost in your smp shop might look nicer without a massive beam shooting through the floor or having haste in your cobblestone farm could be better looking without the beam.
