You join a faction and have multiple jobs offered to you that you can pick from (Merchant, Builder, Military & many more!). When you select a job, you can get to work for your faction. Different factions have different jobs. We have three factions - France, Britain, and Spain (Eventually we will have Pirate Colonies). Pirates have traders and assassins (militia) and they have no official leader, as they can form their own crew and be a leader. Top crews will stand out, and can raid other crews. Griefing WILL be allowed, but it is illegal (be sent in jails for a couple of hours). Eventually we will have a French team. As the group goes on, time will go on, eras will pass. The current time is set in June 1615. Choose wisely, however after a certain amount of days of being in a faction you can switch. The Pirate/Assassins faction will have many different crews. The first notable crew formed is the Hades Crew, created by Captain xyzSteem. There are a current maximum of three crews. If you want to lead a Crew, you must be active! The British faction will have one main territory; England. It is lead by xyzSkies, the King of Britain. When/if you join, you can farm/collect ores to be a Merchant, or join our fine Military and be a Soldier. England's militia will be wearing red and blue stripes. The Details Due to a resurgence of support from our community (which dates back to 2010), we've decided to relaunch a minecraft server and start advertising to a broader community. The map is one month old currently, and we have a steady player base of about 20 players currently (meaning at least a few are on almost all the time). We are eager to welcome new people into the community – log in to check out our player built spawn, and say hello! Most of our new members have come from reddit. We started as a realm, and when we outgrew it, we merged with another realm to form a server to avoid Redstone lag. Our main worlds consist of a Amplified world with keep-inv, and a vanilla survival world, both set to hard difficulty. Our main goal is to maintain a safe place to keep all of our long term builds since we all have jobs or school we cant always be online. We never reset the worlds or delete builds because we know eventually they will get the urge to come back and continue building, like we do, or decide to drop everything and find a new place to build. We like the vanilla mechanics of Minecraft and try our best to keep our plugins light so there is no land claim or pay to win ranks, we are just looking for mature players who don't steal and can work either with us to build spawn towns or go hermit. We change spawn every year so there is always fresh room to build a new town while keeping the old towns as is, since new players bring new ideas and Minecraft updates are always welcome! About: The Memelands community originates from a small realm started in the summer of 2018. We wanted to create a survival world for friendly and active players. We eventually had to expand to a server as we grew in numbers. But we faced some problems, as the co-owner left the community suddenly and closed the server. So we decided we to take a break for a few months and come back with much motivation to play. We decided it would be a great idea to start a new server now that 1.14 has dropped and now we have so much motivation. Memelands is different to many other survival servers, in that there are no resets to the map. This is to create a long and interesting history with builds and events in the server. This is only the beginning. We feel like there will always be plenty of fun things to do in Minecraft, because of its endless possibilities. You just have to be creative and open to new ideas. The meme-factor of the server is also something quite unique. We love memes on the server, some more than others of course. Our goal is to create a larger community full of fun and active players. We want to create a fun environment for players like you. As said before, we have no plans on resetting our current map. We want to play on it for as long as possible! Server and group are U.S based, though scattered over the states. Vanilla survival, with quality of life datapacks (Mob heads, dragon drops elytra, 1-player sleep..etc) - and we're running Dynmap to get a full view of our build together. We are heavy end game players focused on creating a world that is full of interesting locations that you'd be able to sightsee by foot or horse (Interconnected roads and bridges!). Occasional arena games (Capture the Flag) that we try to play bi-weekly to break up the monotony. Whatever massive farms and builds we throw up along the way are gravy. Our goal is to be able to look at a spot and say "That needs something" and throw up a build in that spot without much worry about resourcing. Farmers, redstoners and builders will all find a home or something to do with us. We're about two months old and plan to keep tearing up this world until we feel satisfied. If we're able to get everyone all the advancements - the better, too... but our focus is on building a full world with a rail system, roads, cities and locations all over the map.
