How to make Phantoms actual nightmare creatures Posted: 21 Aug 2019 12:31 AM PDT Phantoms are obviously creatures that appear from a lack of sleep, but they don't seem very nightmarish except for their sounds. So I've come up with a few ideas that would make them scarier and fit the lore better.
-- On the first night, this could mean phantoms are only visible within 20 blocks -- The second night, 25 blocks, and so forth.

Seashells At The Bottom Of Coral Reefs That Can Be Broken For Items Posted: 21 Aug 2019 11:03 AM PDT I think this would add something cool to explore and look out for when in oceans. Silk touch would be needed to pick one up. When broken without silk touch, it would have a small chance of dropping loot. Loot would be small items such as iron nuggets, gold nuggets, and very rarely, a diamond. Nautilus shells could also spawn at the bottom of coral reefs very rarely, and picked up with silk touch. Posted: 21 Aug 2019 11:04 AM PDT These rare structures could spawn in extreme hills and over mountainous biomes and could spawn with maps that show the location of structures near by. They could look like this: https://images.app.goo.gl/kS5EyBbhVTGBZJGD6 But more square. Overall these would allow you to see biomes near by without having to build ugly towers and give you treasure. And hey you could use them as house. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Aug 2019 06:27 AM PDT Since blast furnaces were added, I believe that steel has a real possibility of being introduced through it. How you would get steel is by putting an iron ingot into a furnace or blast furnace to refine it into steel, which would be used to make steel armor, swords, and tools, as well as a few new items, and even a new golem. The only thing about getting steel is that it's a long process, as it is refining the iron ingot and removing impurities. It would take the normal furnace 3 times it's normal smelt time to make an iron ingot into a steel ingot, while the blast furnace would take twice it's normal smelt time to make an iron ingot into a steel ingot. Steel armor, sword, and tools would be a middle ground between iron and diamond, with it having twice the durability of iron. The damage the sword and tools deal would also be a middle ground, iron swords doing 6 damage, steel swords doing 6.5, and diamond swords doing 7. The mining speed of steel would be between iron and diamond as well, with it being a little faster than iron while also being a little slower than diamond. A new item that would be introduced with steel would be steel rails, which allow a minecart to go three times as far before losing momentum, allowing the player to uses less powered rails to save gold for golden apples and other items that requires gold. (credit for the idea goes to I'll have to properly add the name later as I'm on mobile right now and can't get it to work) Another thing steel would introduce would be a steel golem, being a more polished looking iron golem with far less vines on it. The steel golem would have 50% more health than an iron golem and would deal 1 1/2 more hearts of damage to hostile mobs. (credit for the idea goes to I'll have to properly add the name later as I'm on mobile right now and can't get it to work) The main reason why I say that the blast furnace would be the reason why it would be added in is because of two things: In real life, steel is made using blast furnaces to refine iron and remove impurities through intense heat. The blast furnaces can smelt things other than ore (granted a very small number of things), being iron/gold armor, swords, and tools into there respective nuggets, meaning that the blast furnace is more like a metal worker than an improved furnace, so being able to refine iron into steel is within the realm of possibly. I would appreciate any feedback, constructive criticism, that could improve this post [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Aug 2019 03:45 PM PDT Imagine how cool different coloured vases would be! Currently, the flowerpots are pretty boring. Being able to give the colour by dying would make them way prettier. I imagine that they can be as bright and colourful as glazed terracotta. Maybe the pots can have different shapes and sizes, for even more variety. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 03:27 PM PDT It should emit it's particles like it's getting broken while playing in jukebox. Just an aesthetic change [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 05:51 AM PDT Simply by right clicking in a water source with rotten flesh and then cooking it will turn it into purified flesh. This can restore 4 hunger points (2 hunger icons) and can be used to feed dogs like every other meat. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 08:06 AM PDT Putting 2 log blocks on top of each other in a crafting grid should give you 6 thin logs. These logs have the same width as walls, and they can be placed vertically or horizontally. Birch logs would normally generate like this, and you can use some bone meal on the bottom log block of a birch tree to turn the tree's logs into the normal, thick variety. Thin logs can connect to each other and turn corners. You can also press the use button at one with a leaf block to cover the log in leaves! This would give players much more freedom when building trees, and it would allow for more realistic naturally occurring trees in the future. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Aug 2019 01:59 PM PDT I personally think snakes should be in the game their think there would of snakes the rattle snake I like to think the rattle snake would attack you if you ar up to a block away from it if you were within 5 blocks of it it should make a rattling sound. If you are attacked by a rattle snake you will get poisoned. I think this mob could make deasert tetemples harder maybe you would have to jump over a pit of one to get to the treasure. If a horse sees a rattling snake it would kick you off and run away from it. If you managed to kill one it should drop a rattle snake fang witch can be brewed into poison potion. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 02:03 AM PDT It's really frustrating that I can't train my dog to follow me closely, wander, or attack on sight. I also wish I could command them to sit or follow from a distance. Maybe implement a similar system that foxes have - the offspring of two tamed wolves is a dog, which has more advanced obedience. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 09:09 AM PDT Armor and books in the end have a very low chance (less than 1%) to have higher levels of enchantment (I'm breaking 4, sweeping edge 4) or are able to have a max level of one enchantment along with one level of a conflicting enchantment (different protection, smite, sharpness, bane of arthropods.) Posted: 20 Aug 2019 05:39 PM PDT Basically title. You should move like 5 or 10 percent faster on path blocks because it would have better gripping than normal dirt or other things. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 11:20 AM PDT I think we all want a cave update, many people have been suggesting a complete cave overhaul, but as caves are at the core of Minecraft survival, such an overhaul will change the fundamentals of the game. I think a simple addition will make caves much better, and that is occasional large chambers within the caves. Right now, caves are basically just tunnels that don't get very wide, so I think chambers that occasionally appear at the end or connect two tunnels will be great. [link] [comments] |
Make Dogs be able to find mobs for you Posted: 21 Aug 2019 11:33 AM PDT If you right click on your dog while holding an item (ex: feather) your dog will be commanded to go and find the closest mob that you commanded to find (ex: chicken) within 200 blocks. It will work similar to when you feed dolphins with fish. I think this ability will add a lot of use for dogs in minecraft. Here are some examples. If you right click on your dog while holding... ...a feather = your dog will find you a chicken ...leather = your dog will find you a cow ...a bone/arrow = your dog will find you a skeleton ...rotten flesh = your dog will find you a zombie/drowned ...bamboo = your dog will find you panda ...gunpowder = your dog is going to find you a creeper ...wheat/potato/carrot/beetroot = your dog is going to find you a villager etc... etc... The moment you right click on your dog, it will go to the direction of the mob, if your dog goes too far from you(more than ~20 blocks), your dog will stop and wait till you catch up. When the dog finally gets to the mob that you commanded for it to find, the dog will stop and start barking loudly, but will not start attacking the mob. (unless you command it to, by hitting the mob) If your dog had failed to find you a mob that you had commanded for it to find within 200 blocks (ex: you commanded your dog to find a zombie while its still day) your dog will come back to you, stop, and whine a few times. Then your dog will continue business as usual. (Follow you around, sit whenever its commanded to, and beg for food whenever you're holding it.) If you right clicked your dog by accident, you can cancel your command by commanding your dog to sit. This obviously won't work for boss mobs, mobs that spawned underground, and most of the mobs that don't drop anything. [link] [comments] |
Magma Cream should be able to be used like Slimeballs Posted: 21 Aug 2019 01:08 PM PDT it kind of makes sense and I find it very hard to find slimes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 07:41 AM PDT Cold Snow should layer on top of itself as it snows. Snow should be a non-solid block so the player could walk through it, but get slowed down like in soul sand depending on how much snow they are walking through. Maybe players could only walk through a maximum of one block depth of snow, so only their bottom half would be completely covered. There could also be a new set of armor called the snow suit, which would let players walk on top of snow when the boots are equipped. Also, water would not be frozen into ice in cold weather, but instead create a new flat block called frost that has a similar texture to ice but spawns on top of water instead of replacing it. It would also speed up the player. The frost walker enchantment would also create frost instead of ice. However, frost would break over time of the player standing on it, so the snow boots mentioned earlier could remove the speed effect, but also the breaking effect. There could also be an effect that is caused by being in contact with a "cold block" such as ice, snow, frost, and others for too long or being in a cold biome for too long called frostbite. This would be similar to the either effect except less severe and the hearts would turn light blue instead of black. (Maybe the player's skin would be slightly tinted blue as well.) This could also be countered with a full snow suit. Frostbite death message: <Player> caught a cold Recipes: Snow suit: _ = nothing L = leather W = wool LLL L_L W_W LWL LLL LLL LLL L_L W_W L_L W_W Hot There is a new weather type along side rain, snow, and storm that only occurs in certain biomes: Heat wave. (The effects of a heat wave also apply in the nether.) A heat wave will tint the sky red-orange while it is occurring. The effects of heat can be countered with the use of fans or coolers, which I will talk about later. In a heat wave, players can get an effect called heat stroke from being outside too long without fans, coolers, or water. Heat stroke makes the player slower and makes your hunger deplete faster. If the player's hunger is below half while they have heat stroke, they will begin losing health in a manner similar to that of wither or frostbite. Their hearts will not change color. In a heat wave, ice and snow melt noticeably fast, and snow golems don't stand a chance. Creepers also burn in a heat wave like zombies and skeletons do in daylight. If creepers die of burning, they will explode, although the explosion will be very small. Coolers are a new redstone-powered block that, when powered, will remove the effects of a heatwave for any players, mobs, or blocks standing in a certain radius. The fan is an item that has similar effects, but they wear off after 5 seconds, and they have to be reapplied. The effects can be replied by right-clicking and it has a decent amount of durability. Heat stroke death message: <Player> couldn't take the heat Recipes: Cooler: I = iron ingot F = fan R = redstone IRI IFI IRI Fan: _ = nothing S = stick P = paper P PPP S Side note: The heatstroke effect overpowers the frostbite effect and vice versa. They cannot both be on a player at the same time. Yeah, this is a long post. EDIT: the recipes aren't showing up right and idk why [link] [comments] |
Eating 3 rotten fleshes give you the nausea status effect Posted: 21 Aug 2019 05:08 AM PDT If you sequentially ate 3 rotten fleshes then you'll get the nausea effect for over 10 seconds. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 21 Aug 2019 04:15 PM PDT I haven't thought this through much, as in it popped into my head not 5 minutes ago, so bear with me and tell me everything wrong with it in the comments. It could only be used on wood and stone of various types. It would be crafted with at least a bucket, but I can't really think of what else would make sense to make paint with the items that are already in Minecraft. Maybe a bucket of water and clay? I'm not totally sure on that. You'd be able to dye the paint in the same way you dye leather armor, so you can get as many colors as you want. Using the paint bucket on a block would cover whichever side of the block you selected. One bucket of paint would cover 32 sides. Now I'm not sure if this would work or not, but the paint wouldn't function like a block, and wouldn't occupy space. When the paint is placed down, it wouldn't be a block, but instead just alter the block the paint was placed on. This would make it so that you could still place blocks in front of the paint, and you could also paint the blocks where a wall and ceiling meet. (Think of trying to place trap doors on both of the blocks where a wall and ceiling meet, you can't, because there's only one block to occupy, but this isn't now paint would function) I don't know anything about coding or how the Minecraft code works, so I'm not sure if something like this would be possible, but those of you smart folk should let me know if it is.
