Resistance turns your armor bar dark gray, and Fire Resistance turns your armor bar orange. Posted: 17 Aug 2019 09:12 AM PDT This would just be a nice change for aesthetic purposes and would make these effects slightly more apparent(it would also make the armor bar slightly more useful). Mixing Resistance and Fire Resistance will turn your armor bar a dark red color. [link] [comments] |
Why do Endermen hate Endermites? Because they're invasive. Posted: 17 Aug 2019 04:30 AM PDT I've always wondered why Endermen hate Endermites, so I came up with an idea to explain it! In the Outer End Islands, there's a chance to find an Endermite Hive structure. It and the surrounding area is infested by Endermites, similarly to Silverfish. Endermites would gain the ability to Infest End Stone, End Stone Bricks, Purpur Blocks, and Purpur Pillars. In and around the actual Hive structure itself would be Endermite Spawner Blocks that look like End Stone with purple vines weaving through the cracks in the stone. It would function exactly the same as Mob Spawners do, only spawning Endermites instead. You'd also find Ender Webs in the Hive, which would drop Ender Silk when broken. Endermites would also drop Ender Silk now. Ender Silk can be used to craft an Ender Bow with 3 Ender Silk and 3 End Rods that can damage Endermen without them reporting away. (thank you u/danki__) In the center of the Hive is the Miniboss: the Endermite Queen. She stays completely still, but if in line of sight of the player will begin spitting Endermites out of her abdomen. There is a small chance she will spawn a new mob: the Titan Endermite which would be a massive Endermite that cannot Infest blocks but does high damage. When killed, she will drop tons of Ender Silk. Endermites spawned by the Queen, Infested Blocks, or Spawner Blocks would not despawn after 2 minutes like pearl-spawned endermites but would instead despawn like any other hostile mob. This would:

Nether Slug: Passive Nether Mob that grows Nether Quartz Posted: 17 Aug 2019 04:57 AM PDT Nether Slugs are small passive nether-native crustaceans with 2 hearts (4 units) of health. They can climb walls and stick to ceilings, feeding off of the rich minerals in the netherrack. They eventually grow white bumps, and right-clicking on them causes them to drop a Nether Quartz Shard. Putting 9 Nether Quartz Shards in a crafting table gives you a full Nether Quartz item. They take 80% less damage from melee attacks, but take full damage if attacked with a pickaxe. They drop 2-4 experience when killed. If killed with a Silk Touch pickaxe, they drop themselves as an item and drop no exp. You can place them again after picking it up, so you can efficiently transport them! Try sending some to the Overworld, and they might start feeding on the stone to grow blue bumps on their bodies instead of white bumps, and harvest little blue shards from them, which you can craft into... Posted: 17 Aug 2019 09:35 AM PDT This would be a special type of illager that follows the player from far away after the player has saved a village at least once, if a player enters a village while the spy is watching, the player will have to kill it before it reports a village location and initiates a raid, it carries a crossbow with spectral arrows and has 15 health. Posted: 16 Aug 2019 05:11 PM PDT I have a picture of a mock-up of a named portal here to show what I mean. Currently, the Nether Portal mechanics for linking portals is a bit complicated and unituitive (based on coordinates and nearest portals). Specially when you try and make this gold farm too close to your house's Nether Portal like I did, things will go south lol.
My solution to this is to give another use to Name Tags and that is to be able to name Nether Portals. When entering a named portal, it'll teleport you to another portal with the same name in the other dimension. If two portals in one dimension has the same name, the portal will have an equal chance of putting you into either portal (but another person suggested that maybe instead of randomly choosing one portal with same name, that only a pair of portals can share a single ID name and no more).
Another suggestion someone else made was to instead limit how far apart manually linked portals can be. My thought is maybe limit linked portals to 800 blocks apart (after overworld/nether coordinate conversion) from each other.
This idea of manually linked portals would also make creating stages or levels in mini-games much easier in survival without the use of command blocks. There's so much possibilites with manually linking portal that I made a post of Mojang's feedback page here that goes into a bit more detail: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360048776531-Use-Name-Tags-to-manually-link-multiple-Nether-Portals-together
What do you all think? If you really like this idea too, please vote for my feedback post in the above link so there is a better chance that Mojang will see it and consider it. :)
*Originally made this post on /r/Minecraft and was told to post here as well.
Edit: It seems the main flaw with this idea is the fact that it would be abused for traveling over thousands of blocks. A good way to nerf this is to limit named portals to only pair if they are within 800 blocks (after overworld/nether coordinate conversion) and add detrimental effects to the player when they go through too many Nether Portals in too short a time. The first effect could be nausea after two warping within a minute and then gives the player Wither effect that lasts longer if they continue to teleport while having the nausea effect. So it is like the player's body cannot handle teleporting so much that the portal starts to degrade the player's body. Thoughts on this? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Aug 2019 10:38 AM PDT You should be able to use shears on a rose bush to get a rose. The rose bush would eventually grow back the rose and could be farmable. [link] [comments] |
Sweet Berries should give you red dye. Posted: 16 Aug 2019 11:33 PM PDT Putting them in the Crafting Grid should give you red dye. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2019 05:07 AM PDT There should be a little chance (1-10%?) for grass to drop a clover, which could then be placed again on a grass block, this time as a clover. You could be able to make luck potions with it. The luck potions should probably not affect the clover chance because then you could farm them too much when you get the first one. I'm not really sure if it should affect it or not. New luck minigame possibilities and you could finally be able to make luck potions in survival. You can vote my idea here. [link] [comments] |
A new enchantment for armour: Aqua Protection Posted: 17 Aug 2019 01:47 PM PDT Since the 1.13 update, we have a new threat in the ocean. That is the drowned and his trident. Because of that I think there should be a kind of protection just for underwater stuff. That could also include guardian attacks Blast Protection is a thing, so it's not that far fetched. If a Player Name a Mob With a Name Tag, The Mob's Death Message Will Be Shown to The Player Posted: 17 Aug 2019 07:15 AM PDT Name tags are used for 1 main thing: Name a mob that you care about. If would be amazing if mobs that you cant tame but you make them pets will have death messages. Only seems fair. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2019 10:35 AM PDT Elytra have been around for a few years, and while they are incredibly useful, they are quite boring. Let's fix this. Fix number one. When flying fast enough, depending on the hardness of a block, you are able smash right through it. When this happens, your kinetic energy damage is reduced, but you can still die. Kinetic energy damage is also reduced based on the block you smack into. For example, glass wouldn't damage you much but stone would damage you more. Fix number 2: A new enchantment known as Cushioning. This enchantment isn't applied to the Elytra. Instead you put it on your helmet, and it reduces KE damage by 10% by each level, 1,2, and 3. Fix 3: Changes to in air combat. When you come into contact with another entity while flying, provided that you have a weapon in your hand, the damage will be dealt automatically to that entity. This however, will not work if you have the Enchantment Razorwing on you Elytra. Fix 4: Razor wing has 3 levels. Level one, in which when you come into contact with another entity's hitbox, five damage points are dealt. For level 2, six damage points are dealt. For level three, seven damage points are dealt, and when you fly around, critical damage particles follow you when you fly. How ever, using Razorwing reduces the durability even more. Boats bobbing up and down in water Posted: 17 Aug 2019 07:33 AM PDT Boats should slightly bob up and down in water, and make small waves around them, to make them look and feel more "connected" with the water. This would be a small visual change, to make boats look better, instead of just being completely still in water. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2019 01:11 PM PDT I swear there's gotta be a better way to store string. I have so much and I can't store it compactly. I was thinking maybe if we could craft string into a "ball of string" that can later be turned back into normal string, it may be easier to store. The crafting recipe could just be 8 string in a circle on the crafting table. I dunno. It may be stupid. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
New enchant for shears that makes sheep drop more wool Posted: 17 Aug 2019 05:18 AM PDT I know people don't use shears a whole pile but it would be nice if you could actually enchant them instead of doing it through means of an anvil. When enchanting shears you could also get a new enchant that would work the same as looting (Please request names). It would make sheep drop a lot more wool and overall be very useful for builders in Minecraft. Just a thought, feedback will be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2019 01:54 PM PDT For those of you who don't know, I am referring to this: https://twitter.com/Dinnerbone/status/444176255521681408 Dinnerbone mentioned this back when Endermites were first added, and we never saw follow-up to this plan. Just like everyone else, I don't know what this plan was, but I really want him to make it a real thing, or at the very least, explain more about his big idea! [link] [comments] |
Kelp should give you green dye Posted: 17 Aug 2019 08:52 AM PDT I was just thinking... Posted: 17 Aug 2019 12:53 PM PDT Rough mock-up of a potential texture Overview Glowworms are a block mob (similar to the Shulker) that generate underground and are loosely based on the larvae of Arachnocampa fungus gnats. They appear as transparent web-like blocks with glowing blue spots and serve as both an ambient mob and a late-game decoration option. They can also be pushed by pistons. Spawning, HP and drops Glowworms only spawn during initial terrain generation in small colonies on the ceilings of caves underground. A block of Glowworms has eight points of health (four hearts) and is weak to Bane of Arthropods. Upon death, they always drop 1-2 string, with a 35% chance of dropping a slimeball, a 20% chance of dropping a spider eye and a 10% chance of dropping glowstone dust. Behavior Exposing a block of Glowworms to any level of sky-emitted light will kill them instantly, creating a dead block similar to dead coral. If the Glowworms are placed below an air block, they will travel upwards until they encounter a solid block, at which point they will rest, occasionally moving horizontally if provided with the space. Feeding them spider eyes will cause them to "breed"- spawning another individual in an adjacent air block. Lighting Glowworms' light functions just like magma, ie they naturally emit only 1 level, however they glow in the dark and can absorb any higher levels they are exposed to, thus making spelunking slightly less torch-intensive and allowing them to be used as a late game lighting block. Multiple People Owning One Pet Posted: 17 Aug 2019 02:42 PM PDT Please vote for my suggestion on the Minecraft site. Multiple People Owning One Pet My idea is to have multiple players to have the same animal tamed. This is already the case with tamed horses, however I propose that this could be the case with cats and wolves as well. All players could make tamed animals sit and stand. The animal would follow whichever player most recently made it stand up. Wolves would not attack any players as well. To prevent this from being abused on servers, it could be a game rule. "/gamerule DoTameShare false" would be default, however players could do "/gamerule DoTameShare true" to make all tamed animals accessible for everyone. I imagine this being used in a LAN setting. Three friends all wanting to share a cute pup. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Aug 2019 10:49 AM PDT There are currently only 2 overground temples in the game, the Desert Temple and Jungle Temple. I feel that a 3rd temple should be added to the game, and this should be in the Mesa Biome. The trap would be a lava pit trigged by a tripwire hook, along with a zombie spawner defending the loot chest representing undead miners. The miners would have been mining gold in the mesa, and most of the loot in the chest would be gold. Other loot could be rails, coal, rotten flesh, and iron nuggets. [link] [comments] |
They need to make the thunderstorms more of a problem Posted: 17 Aug 2019 11:12 AM PDT When I have a weather storm in Minecraft, usually nothing happens. Posted: 17 Aug 2019 11:27 AM PDT How this suggestion startedThere's the first boss called Enderdragon. She's not attacker, nor defender. She's in middle. There's the second boss called Wither. He's fast, aggressive attacker. So I will make third boss called Corrupted Golem. He's slow, calm defender. How to summon Corrupted GolemIn New End, where you can find End Cities, very rare you can find structure which looks like obsidian plus with corrupted beacon in the middle on it. You can destroy the structure but you won't get corrupted beacon in any possible way. To summon Corrupted Golem you have to click right mouse button with nether star in hand on Corrupted Beacon. It means you have to defeat Enderdragon and Wither at first to defeat Corrupted Golem then. After you put nether star, the corrupted beacon will crack time to time, then immediately start to increase signal frequency and suddenly Corrupted Golem is summoned. Increasing signal frequency sounds like this example but with beacon working sound as basis. How Corrupted Golem behave and lookTill you won't attack him, he won't kill you, just like Endermen. He's made of obsidian (his body and armor) and corrupted beacon purple beams (his bones and muscles). The corrupted beacon is at his back and is the only point by which player can damage him with only melee weapons. All his body can be damaged by bullets but it's not easy since he uses energy shield. He has white glowing eyes and two modes: Defensive modeIn this mode his main weapon is energy shield. The energy shield absorbs all types of bullets but it costs energy shield's health. Corrupted Golem always sets his energy shield in front of you (2 blocks away from Corrupted Golem himself) but he's doing it too slow when player uses ender pearl or elytra. These two are your main weapons to cheat him in this mode. You can compare it to this situation. In this mode his secondary weapon is energy flail. The energy flail is damage player 3 hearts and knockback player 4 blocks away. He uses it all the time if player is maximum 2 blocks in front of him. So you have to manage to cheat him to damage him. Offensive modeThis mode is activated when his energy shield is destroyed. This mode takes 10 seconds. In this mode he uses energy flail more often and teleport player in front him when he cannot reach the player with energy flail too often. RewardKilled Corrupted Golem 100% drops translocator. Translocator looks like device with antenna on the side and eye of ender in the middle. In default the eye is closed. After you click right mouse button with translocator on your activate beacon, the eye of translocator will open and will always look at the beacon (just like compasses look at coordinates 0,0,0). Since then your translocator is connected to your beacon. To disconnect your translocator, make it again and the eye of translocator will close. When you hold connected translocator and click right mouse button, you will teleport to your beacon. Teleporting takes 5 seconds and after being used translocator has 1 minute cooldown to prevent misusing it (using too often) on servers. What you think about my boss suggestion? I worked on him all week. :)[link] [comments] |
Jumping into bodies of liquid/Rain fills buckets. Posted: 17 Aug 2019 10:03 AM PDT Buckets only fill up if you right click an area of liquid. What if that wasn't the case? I think that if you jump into a body of water/lava the buckets in your hotbar/inventory should fill up to indicate that you store things in your very big pockets. Rain should also fill (But take a good amount of time) buckets that you hold in your hands. Maybe the buckets are a way water/lava can mix together too! (Ex. Jumping into water with a bucket of lava in your inventory would make obsidian. Of course this would damage said bucket!) This would give boats a bigger purpose so you don't ruin buckets or fill them up! [link] [comments] |
Caves with ores/structures in the nether and end Posted: 17 Aug 2019 10:35 AM PDT These ores could be either retextured ones or completely different, but some reason to mine in the other dimensions would be nice. In addition, some type of dungeon with an enderman spawner in the end and a blaze or wither skeleton spawner in the nether. There could also be mineshaft like tunnels in the nether lit with glow stone. [link] [comments] |
