<> All Monthly Suggestion Posts are cataloged on the subreddit's TMS Catalog Wikipage.<> Note: The comments are not for posing ideas unless they pertain to the feedback theme. If an idea crops up in a discussion, then that's fine, but for posting a suggestion for the community and the developers, that is what the "submit" button at the top right is for. Also also, you can see some suggestions that have actually been implemented on the Successful Suggestions Wikipage! Maybe one of these will make it on there someday! Giving Wither Skeletons more variation: Withered Bowmen and Wither Skeleton Jockeys Posted: 13 Sep 2019 06:39 AM PDT WITHERED BOWMEN - Instead of normal Skeletons spawning in Nether fortresses, Withered Bowmen appear instead. They resemble a Wither Skeleton, except with a slightly lighter color and a bow in hand. They shoot Arrows of Decay that inflict the Wither effect for 5 seconds. They have a chance to drop Arrows of Decay when killed. WITHER SKELETON JOCKEY - Wither Skeletons have a 1% chance to spawn as a Wither Skeleton Jockey. This idea is simple, and would add more variation to Nether Fortresses. The Spider they ride would be a one unique to the Nether called a "Scorched Widow". Scorched Widows can also spawn randomly in the Nether. Scorched Widows are slightly faster than normal spiders, have slightly more health, and set whatever they bite on fire for a few seconds. This would not only add more danger to the Nether but would make Bane of Arthropods a more useful enchantment. [link] [comments] |

Player can (partially) control Iron Golems using redstone torches Posted: 13 Sep 2019 12:41 PM PDT 1)If the player didn't anger Iron Golem before, the Golem would follow the player holding redstone torch in their hands. 2)If Iron Golem sees redstone torch placed in the world,it would walk to it until it is at least 1 block away from the torch. It would stay there for a few seconds, before goind away from this place. Golem would remember like around 10 redstone torches it last visited, and wouldn't try to return to those torches until its "redstone torches visited" list reach maximum and refreshes itself. Players can use this to create patrolling paths for their Golems. If Golem on "torch patrolling" sees Villager being hurt or gets attacked itself, it goes into battle before resuming its patrol. Posted: 13 Sep 2019 02:48 PM PDT You should be able to put already named name tags in grindstones to reset their name (so that they could be stacked with normal name tags without wasting xp) with very minimal xp given when grinded. [link] [comments] |
A new bird to aid you in battle: the hawk Posted: 13 Sep 2019 12:45 PM PDT Yeah, parrots are adorable and their mimicking abilities give you a nice heads up on what's in the area, but they don't exactly serve any type of direct fighting use. However, a new bird can help you fight back the monsters: the hawk.
*Hawks are hostile towards salmon and will swoop down into rivers to attack them. *Like wolves, they are neutral mobs that will only attack when provoked, and if they are, they'll swoop at you, dealing 3 damage on easy, 4 on normal, and 6 on hard. *The hawks themselves have 6 hit points, and will drop 0-1 feathers and 3 xp orbs on death. *They can be tamed and healed with raw salmon and raw cod, but they cannot breed. *Like parrots, they'll fly around and sit if right clicked on the ground once tamed. *To use them in battle, you need to craft a hawk hood, which has a crafting recipe similar to a leather helmet, but the corner pieces are removed. *When right clicked with a hawk hood in your hand or offhand, the hawk will sit on your wrist while wearing the hood and you can carry it with you. *When you have the hawk in your hand, any mob you have your aim reticle over will have the spectral effect to signify a target for the hawk to attack. *When you right click with a hawk in hand, the hood will be removed and the hawk will fly in the direction of your aim reticle, avoiding fire and lava. If no target was highlighted, the hawk will circle around and fly back to you. If a mob was highlighted, it will attack the mob until either it or its target die. If successful, the hawk will fly back and carry the drops to you, and will leave them at your feet if your inventory is full. *If the hawk hood is removed from your hand or offhand, the hawk will leave your hand. *Hawks are very effective against mobs that rely on melee combat, such as zombies, spiders, and endermen. However, they struggle with mobs that have ranged attacks, such as skeletons, pillagers, and drowned. [link] [comments] |
Combining a treasure map with a normal map should result in a player treasure map Posted: 13 Sep 2019 03:24 PM PDT To use a player treasure map, you right click (or left trigger with a controller) to place the X, then right click again to start using it. If you hide a treasure and use it, your map will start to fill in as normal for a treasure map, so you'd want to only place the X if you were the one who placed the treasure. What uses does this have? A lot of things. It makes a cool way to give items to other players. For example, you replace your old armor with some better stuff and don't want it, why not make a treasure map for it so the person you'd want to give it to can "earn" it? There's much better uses though. It could introduce a "quest" system. You can make a creative world and place treasure inside somewhere and then the person looking for it has to go through a dungeon to find it. It also adds a way to mark locations. The quest system could make for some cool ideas, for example, you could use the Skyrim map in the mashup pack and actually make quests to get gold and such. You could place your own treasure for any reason really. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Sep 2019 12:29 PM PDT Pretty much the title. You'd be able to ready your riptide trident without being in the water, but you'd only be able to get the boost if you release it in the water. While this seems like an inconsequential change at first, it would allow elytra users to save on rockets by creating water rings along often-travelled routes in a kind of "sky road", boosting themselves with well-timed trident launches. This would be a strategic investment for players - saving rockets in the long run, but requiring some short-term effort to get the system up and running. It would also add to the skylines of player-built areas, especially on servers, just like elevated highways in real life. Here's a video of what it was like in the old days before they made riptide tridents unthrowable. Sorry in advance for the quality of the video, it's the only clip I've got. [link] [comments] |
Slimes shouldn’t take fall damage. Posted: 12 Sep 2019 07:11 PM PDT Cats and iron golems don't, but slime blocks are literally used to bounce off of to not take fall damage, so why do slimes take fall damage, it doesn't make any sense! [link] [comments] |
Cauldrons full of water boiling if placed above a fire or campfire. Posted: 12 Sep 2019 09:31 PM PDT In more detail, what would be a cool cosmetic thing for cauldrons is that, if you place a campfire or regular fire (perhaps also magma blocks to represent something like hot coals?) below them, bubble particles will appear along the top of the water as if it were boiling. It could be a neat little detail that could be used to enhance builds featuring them: for a witch's hut, a cooking pot in the middle of a village, so on and so forth. I doubt it would have any purpose outside of aesthetics, but I mean, it could if a good enough purpose for it comes up...? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 13 Sep 2019 07:00 AM PDT If you hold food around a polar bear they will follow you and then turn aggressive in 15 seconds unless the player holds something else within that time. If the player feeds a Polar Bear 3 items of food they will turn aggressive automatically. Feeding a bear honey will cause them to turn neutral again. [link] [comments] |
Creeks, complete with lots of reeds, bits of stone, and other plants. Posted: 12 Sep 2019 11:09 PM PDT I think it would be great to see more actual creeks and possibly waterfalls instead of the current randomly generating source blocks that we have now. They could have an overgrown kinda look, with bits of stone. Could be a really cool addition to the terrain. [link] [comments] |
Advancement: Unhealthy Relationship Posted: 13 Sep 2019 04:00 PM PDT |
Posted: 13 Sep 2019 03:39 PM PDT In Minecraft the Minecraft Bedrock settings, in the "Global Resources" section, there should be a chunk borders option. So if you're on Xbox it can be a lot easier to build things such as farms. [link] [comments] |
More randomization, less predictability Posted: 12 Sep 2019 11:48 PM PDT After hundreds (or even thousands) of hours playing Minecraft, one can't help but wonder why the game doesn't take more advantage of randomization to decrease predictability. Example 1: You see a village skyline in the distance. Then you can predict that you will find for sure villagers, potatoes, beds, and so on... Why not more randomization? Like you have a 50% chance of finding an empty village without crops... Or a zombie-infested village. Or a pillager-invaded village... Or a village with only wheat and no potatoes or carrots. The list can go on and on. Example 2: You go down to mine diamonds, and you start to do branch mining in the 11th level, because you know that underground lava pools are ALWAYS located directly below level 11. Why so much predictability? Why not more randomization? There are countless examples, but you get the point... [link] [comments] |
MCPE Toggleable build/destroy for a strafing. Posted: 13 Sep 2019 05:33 AM PDT So in minecraft pocket edition, or mobile if you prefer, people in creative mode can strafe left or right and long press on their screen to destroy the blocks in front of them in a line, same as on the console version. I think a good idea would be to have a switch on the screen that toggles building and destroying, specifically for that movement. [link] [comments] |
Opal: a way to store xp and more! Posted: 12 Sep 2019 05:59 PM PDT I propose adding a new ore. opal would be a gem that spawns like gold and when placed in a crafting table will take 1 level from you and store a level equal to the xp of a level at level on. 9 opals can make a block which when right clicked takes a level away from you and puts it in the block. These levels hold the same number of xp as a level 5 level and you can only place levels in it if you are at or above level 5 these blocks glow when full and can be emptied by shift right clicking them then there is the staff made from an an opal and 2 blaze rods which you can charge with levels and does an xp beam attack which at Max charge follows the target. Then there is an amulet which when worn in the helmet armor slot gives you a heart per 3 xp orbs. In the enchanting table it can replace lapis giving better chance of good enchantments and efficiency 5. Lastly I suggest a redstone component made with6 iron 2 redstone and an opal which is called the (please suggest name) that works as an xp hopper taking loose xp from the ground and putting it in a opal block. Thank you for reading please post feedback in the comments :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 12 Sep 2019 07:33 PM PDT Tamed wolves should occasionally have a digging animation on soft blocks and even find bones in the ground as long as they are not sitting. These changes would make playing with or watching your pets more fun. [link] [comments] |
