Can we make mountain biomes higher to make them feel like real mountains? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 12:28 PM PDT It always bothered me how low the mountain biomes are especially since the height limit has been increased. It doesn't feel right when the current "mountains" are not much higher than jungles trees. In addition to higher mountains, the snow spawning should also be much higher, it looks ridiculous how low snow spawns currently. [link] [comments] |
Gravel patches should have a rare chance to reveal chests in caves. Posted: 11 Sep 2019 03:11 AM PDT This would encourage people to reveal gravel patches in caves, as another unique treasure system, you can get a map to find these just like you can with buried treasure, just instead it would be called "encased treasure" These would have different loot including rare items so they don't feel exactly the same. Turtles can lay eggs on Red Sand and all colors of Concrete Powder. Posted: 11 Sep 2019 05:48 AM PDT Turtles not laying eggs on Red Sand makes...no sense. Obviously Turtles laying eggs on Concrete Powder wouldn't happen naturally but its just logical. Both these blocks are very similar to Sand and are mainly composed of Sand anyway. Plus, this would allow for colored-coded turtle farms! [link] [comments] |
Incense to prevent hostile mobs from spawning in dark areas Posted: 11 Sep 2019 12:28 PM PDT After making an abandoned temple base i was saddened by the need for light and safety ruining the atmosphere. Adding something like an incense pot you can place in the world would allow for builds to utilise the full range of minecraft's lighting engine without worrying about turning a corner in your base only to be met with a creeper. could be crafted with a cauldron and different flowers? i dunno but i think it fits the theme of the game and would be very nice! If anyone has any suggestions for something else besides incense that would serve the same purpose i would be happy to hear them [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 10:24 AM PDT Add seagulls to ocean/ beach biomes that are used to show where fish are more common for fishing. Basically what I mean is add some type of seabird, preferably seagulls, to water biomes that when they gather to feed on "fish" (them gathered over and on a spot of water) fishing in that area would be 25-50% better for catching fish.
Would add another flying mob to common overworld mobs (like phantom) with a twist of helping by giving information (like dolphins)I've seen a few in the past year talking about adding them (from my search) but none included the fishing part which is what their real life counterpart actively does. Most included attacking baby turtles or only for atmosphere. k00ji's suggestion had them marking shipwrecks when dolphins already do this. edit: removed "wouldn't stack with nighttime bonus" [link] [comments] |
Light-emitting air (for mapmakers only) Posted: 11 Sep 2019 01:42 PM PDT Sometimes as a mapmaker you want to be able to control where light goes. Maybe you don't want to hide light sources underneath carpets because it ruins the build, or maybe you want a diamond on the ground be so shiny it emits its own light. You can probably think of many applications for this. Many have suggested a
This would place light-emitting air with light-level 14 at every torch that is on the ground as an item. [link] [comments] |
Cats should pick up fish when thrown on the ground. Posted: 11 Sep 2019 12:52 PM PDT Cats should pick up fish when you throw them on the ground. [link] [comments] |
Armor should display on villagers and Illagers. Posted: 11 Sep 2019 02:15 PM PDT Armor already displays on zombie villagers, so there's no reason why this shouldn't be implemented. [link] [comments] |
Ravager horn horns: a way of locating Pillager outposts. Posted: 11 Sep 2019 11:07 AM PDT The mighty Ravager. A large, destructive force of nature with a giant set of horns (and nose). What you usually get defeating this mob is a saddle. Which is good loot considering how rare it is to come across them. However, an idea I had in mind was something to do with their horns. When the ravager drops it's horn, it functions as an instrument. When right clicked, an animation will show of the player putting the horn to the mouth and the horn makes the Pillager raid horn sound. If you are lucky, a horn sound in the distance will blare back to whoever has played the horn. The sounds of the horns will get louder to the player as he keeps playing the horn, indicating the outpost is getting closer. Following where you hear these sounds will bring you to the nearest Pillager outpost. In my opinions, when defeating a ravager, this would be an extremely useful item, as it functions to serve the player a location for the outposts, and it also gives the player another use for fighting and slaying ravagers. I also think it sort of adds a bit of deception to the game, at least to the pillagers. Now, you could just use /locate, but I think this is more fun to do. This is just an idea that I had in mind. To sum it up: when ravagers are slain, they drop their horns, which can be played by the player like a musical instrument to locate nearby outposts. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 07:28 AM PDT Carpets. Right now they are... not so good. Well, it's just my opinion but I got a couple of ideas on how to improve them.

Nunchucks: The first in Blunt Weaponry Posted: 11 Sep 2019 12:07 PM PDT I personally don't see why we haven't gotten Blunt Weapons of any kind. Maybe it would be confusing, or maybe there wouldn't be any point, but anyway... Nunchucks! Nunchucks would be a new Blunt Weapon (Blunt Weapons dealing a bit extra damage to armored mobs and players) with each type of Nunchuck having it's own ability of sorts. There would be 4 types of Nunchucks.
But why would this not have a more traditional Wooden to Diamond crafting recipe? Well, like I said, each would have their own abilities Bamboo Nunchucks would be the quickest of all Nunchucks, but have lower damage as compensation Iron Nunchucks would be the opposite, being slow and hard-hitting, as well as dealing double damage to Shields to wear them down quicker Magma Nunchucks would inflict a "Burn" effect, which would be like Poison But can't be prevented with Milk or Water. And finally, Dragon Nunchucks would have a special Phasing Ability. Basically, Phasing lets you appear behind a mob or Player and face them from behind. I believe this should be added because Swords and Axes are the only weapons that have Ore/Item Levels. Not only that, this Weapon would be dynamic, having different traits per level. This would be a great addition in my opinion. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 05:35 AM PDT A ball can be crafted (maybe with slime) where you can throw it and your dog will fetch it and return it to you! Please feel free to add more to it. [link] [comments] |
Stairs can be placed on its side Posted: 10 Sep 2019 11:44 PM PDT This is easier to explain visually, but basically you just tilt a typical stair on its side so the "steps" are now vertically instead of horizontal. This would allow for more "rounded" shapes to be created without Minecraft losing its Voxel based graphical gameplay. This can be used to great effect for when you build castle towers or anything you want to show more a curve in the appearance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 06:49 AM PDT It's summarised in the video link and Wikipedia link. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yl-6-Yzt--A It would add more challenge to the Overworld. The Nether will again be reversed in topography, and you will be confused like mad. Terrain generation can play a big role in difficulty. So why not this for those who want challenge? Posted: 11 Sep 2019 03:46 PM PDT No no, nothing like the neather, this is, quite literally, an underworld. To get here you must mine deep to bedrock and then find an teather gate, or something. Passing through brings you to a surrial underworld, full of lush grass, rolling hills, magestic forests, and waterfalls. Flowers and bees are extremely common, making it all just a happier place. There could be new structures, and maybe like butterflies? Obviously there needs to be something bigger down here so maybe there is: Hornet boss: bees help you attack, drops stinger which can be used in brewing, and maybe other stuff Mystic villages: magical floating villages, simmilar to to end city's. They might be protected by some kind of boss Twisted castle: nearing one of these turns the whole underworld dark, and like a virus, everything starts dying, starting near the castle and spreading. You must conquer the castle to reverse this and maybe gain some bonus effect [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 07:29 AM PDT There should be an option that displays saturation. It could be numerical or use icons and is above the hunger bar. It would be useful to see your regen speed and hunger decrease values. [link] [comments] |
Hay Bales should be easily mined by hoes Posted: 11 Sep 2019 08:32 AM PDT |
Posted: 11 Sep 2019 07:35 AM PDT So, remember how boats used to suck pingas, but after 1.9 they are good? They should do the same with Horses and Minecarts. Horses are very weird, they clip easily through the wall and die. It's too common. Tamed horses should have a physical hitbox like boats, and just be revamped. Maybe a snack system where you can give them carrots and apples and they get a temporary buff, carrot gives them more health and apple makes them faster. Also, they should be able to eat Hay Bales. Actually, why are Hay Bales made of wheat? They should be made out of Hay that is obtained by putting grass in a furnace. The grass should have a faster smelting rate then other items because it just needs drying, not cooking. smoking, it's not that type of grass. Wheat should have a seperate storage block. And leads are no longer made like they do now, instead, you can find "dead plants" (not to be confused with dead bush) that look like dogbane or milkweed. They are common in dry biomes, but can be found in most biomes, usually as far as possible from trees. When broken, you get plant fiber, which can be crafted into rope. Rope has many uses and deserves its own thread, but basically that's what lead is crafted from now. So anyway, horses get a hunger bar. It decreases very slowly, and only when running and leaping, but after a certain point, the horse can't run or leap anymore. You need to place a hay bale next to them, and they'll eat it. You can no longer feed them the hay bales directly by right clicking them, it's weird. In real life, you don't lift a meter by meter cube of hay and shove it into a horse's throat to feed it. So next up, Minecarts. Minecarts are very laggy, and the furnace minecart is useless. But the furnace minecart shouldn't be removed imo, it's a cool concept, it just needs to be fixed. You can now craft Iron Chain. First of all, you can use them to craft chainmail armor and lanterns. But more important, you can right click it on a minecart, and connect it a bit like a lead to another minecart and create trains. The trains can contain up to 4 minecarts at a time. Fueled Furnace Minecarts move as fast an activated powered rail, and when minecarts are chained, they will not separate until used on with shears or broken. Furnace Minecart now has interface, it has 4 slots that can be filled with either coal, charcoal and dried kelp (and oil if it was ever added but that's another topic). A piece of coal or charcoal is enough to fuel it for 8 minutes, and a piece of dried kelp is enough for 2 minutes. Minecarts now have a physical hitbox and better physics. You can now put a rail on a rail to create different paths that can be switched between with a lever, or create an x with the rails. Minecarts are now also faster than horses, giving you a choice between two options: fast transportation with a specific path or slower transportation with movement freedom. Next up, boats. Boats are almost perfect the way they are, but there are still a few things that should be changed. First, you can put a chest in a boat. That's about it. Next, using boats now decreases your hunger bar, because it doesn't make sense that you can row a boat for hours without losing energy. This should also apply to jumping. Finally, boats don't travel fast on ice anymore. I know it sounds like a huge debuff, but that brings me to my next ideas: New transportation methods! First, remove riding pigs from the game, that's useless. Now, for the spicy stuff! - Sleds. They are crafted with wood, wool and iron, and they let you travel fast on snow and ice variants. Lower levels of snow = slower sled, and ice is faster than snow. The fastest way is blue ice. But, now, Ice melts and quickly evaporates in the nether because it doesn't make any sense that water immediately evaporates in the nether but ice just stays solid forever. Instead, a new block called smooth crystal is added. It is crafted with quartz and glass, and can be sled on at the same speed as normal ice. "When touching the surface, this block feels oily and slippery, but your hand stays clean. This material is so smooth that it's as slippery as grease." - Hot Air Balloons. Crafted with wool, wood, rope and a furnace, it moves a lot slower than the Elytra but is easier to control. However, it requires fuel like a furnace minecart. After you get the Elytra, you probably won't ever use this anymore. This is a cheap and relaxing early-game replacement. So now, we have: -Minecarts give you a fast land transportation method that is limited to a specific path. -Horses give you a slower land transportation method that has movement freedom. -Boats give you a fast water transportation method. -Sleds give you a fast transportation method that can be only used on specific occassions, and has limited movement freedom depending on how it's used. -Elytra gives you a fast air transportation method that can be tricky to learn and is only obtainable late into the game. -Hot Air Balloons give you a very slow but easy to control air transportation method that requires feul but can be obtained early in the game. A way to make wolves into Village wolves Posted: 10 Sep 2019 08:28 PM PDT This would work simply , you give a bone to a villager and it defends the village the villager is in , It could help to protect villages at night or in raids whenever the player is not near enough , these wolves would become some sort of help to iron golems since they are way too slow , and they would even attack the player if they are aggressive towards villagers .
