Add honey to the pyramid loot tables

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 05:00 AM PDT

Simple addition, add bottles of honey to the desert pyramid loot tables. It's ultimately the little details that I love about this game.

This is actually based in history, ancient Egyptians stored honey and we started finding it back when we discovered the tombs, it would be an awesome nod to put honey in the pyramid/desert temple.

Bees shouldn't be able to fly after touching water.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 06:37 AM PDT

In real life, most flying creatures try to avoid water, because if they touch it, they won't be able to fly. This is also the case with bees. For that reason, after at least half of their hitbox has been in contact with water, they have to walk. I think this would work the same as a potion effect, that lasts for a couple of minutes after they last got wet. This effect will be given to them when they:

    • Touch water
    • Get hit by a Splash Potion of Water
    • Get hit by a Lingering Potion of Water
    • Are not in their hive when it's raining
    • Are not in their hive during a thunderstorm

(The last two require some explanation. If the bee is hiding under a solid block, they will not get this effect. If they aren't hiding under a solid block or are in their hive, they will get the effect.)

This idea could be further expanded, for example, when they get hit by any Splash or Lingering potion. Or, when they are in a cold biome, and it starts to snow, they get hurt by the snow (not the blocks, the particles).

    New Insomniac Mob

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 08:48 AM PDT

Name: Terror(feel free to suggest an alternative)

Name: Shade(thank you u/SeaPlayz for the inspiration on the new name)

Appearance: Black silhouette of a player(feel free to suggest an alternative)

Watches the player from distance at night. They would approach the player until they are somewhere 8-12 blocks away. They will always know the location of the player, and always approach them. They will never get closer than 8 blocks on their own. If they are less than 8 blocks away from the player, they would move away.

They will have 1 health, and no death animation, almost like they were never even there. During the day, they will immediately despawn. They will only spawn if a player has spent 3 consecutive nights without sleeping, like phantoms. They can only spawn in light levels of 7 or lower, and will disappear(despawn) if they go anywhere higher than light level 7. If they submerge in water they also despawn. They are immune to fall damage. Projectiles cannot hurt them, but they will move if they are hit by a projectile. No more than 1 terror would spawn per night. They will only spawn in the overworld.

They won't fight the player directly. Their movement speed would be the same as a player who isn't sprinting. When they are within 24 blocks of the player, the player would get an effect called "Terror". With this effect, the player cannot gain exp, and will have slowness 1 for 5 seconds, then speed 1 for 5 seconds, alternating. Night vision will also constantly look as if it will wear off when combined with the terror effect. The player will also be unable to sleep with terror, even if there are no mobs close enough to prevent it.

Terrors would drop 5 exp when killed. They would have a 1/20 chance to drop an 8 minute night vision potion. The terror effect would be removed immediately once it dies.

Feel free to ask any questions for clarification.

Biome Suggestion: Elephant Grasslands (Images Included)

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 03:00 PM PDT

    image

The Grasslands are a rare variant of the Savannah biome. They generate with copious amounts of special tall grass, called elephant grass, which can grow up to 7 blocks high. This makes it very hard to see anything when traveling on the ground.

Elephant grass can be walked through as though it was air. It can be mined instantly with any tool or fist. It also has the unique effect of not interrupting attacks when broken, so the player can still punch entities through it. This makes fighting monsters in this biome not quite impossible, although still rather difficult.

Elephant grass does not deter mobs from spawning inside it. As a result, this biome is extremely dangerous at night. The player may find themselves blown up by a creeper or shot by a skeleton they did not even know was there. They may even fall into a ravine they didn't notice.

Because of this unique and significant danger, there should be a useful mob that spawns here. I would suggest elephants personally, as this is the Elephant Grasslands after all.

    Raid Music

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 03:24 AM PDT

I've been defending my villagers from quite a few raids recently, but something about it felt a bit off. The normal relaxing Minecraft theme played while I was fighting an agressive onslaught of dangerous illagers and witches. Raids aren't supposed to be a relaxing thing, so there should be some tense or epic music rather than no music or the normal Minecraft theme.

Arrows should emit different particles depending on the Enchantment.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 08:48 AM PDT

You know how arrows leave a trail of particles if you charge them up completely? I think it would be neat if those particles changed depending on the enchantment.

    • Power emits blue critical particles.
    • Punch emits red critical particles.
    • Flame emits flame particles.
    • Infinity emits purple spark particles.

Just a nice touch, nothing more. If there are multiple enchantments on the same bow, only the first enchantment is used.

    New Mob: The Nether Guard.

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 02:31 PM PDT

    Inspired by THIS post.

    Here's the concept art

The Nether guard is a new mob designed for the 1.16 Nether update. This mob spawn's randomly in the normal nether biome. It's design was inspired by a blaze but it is quite different. It cannot fly and instead walks on all fours. It does not do fire damage but it does deal incredible knock back.

    They commonly spawn in groups.

It will attack you from a certain distance with a dash attack. It also spawns in nether fortresses.

    Height Comparison

    More Concept Art!

    Here are more stats like

    Attack damage

    • Easy: 1 heart
    • Normal: 1.5 hearts
    • Hard: 2.5 or 3

    Health: 8

    Exp: 2

More ideas would be nice (And yes, I know my art sucks.)

    Bookshelves

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 12:52 AM PDT

I just had a neat and simple idea that it would be nice if bookshelves had multiple textures and you could change them by right clicking them with an empty hand (it would simulate rearranging books or taking them out completely).

That would add a little spice to your library

    Seasonal Forest Biome

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 08:47 AM PDT

Seasonal Forest biomes will basically be autumn themed forests. They have orange leaves, bright green grass, occasional lakes, and occasional "Flower Groves", which are empty, cleaned out areas in the forest, that have lots of flowers in them, including a new flower, called the "Aster", which are purple and yellow themed. They are another source of purple dye.

Their temperature is 0.8, which is the same temperature as normal and birch forests.

The nether Boss, that isn't wither

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 02:04 PM PDT

So after some time i thought why we doesn't have nether-only boss, wither can be spawned in any dimension, so it means he is netrual to all of dimensions, even so the only items to make him is in the nether. With upcoming nether update it could be a very thing. So my idea is to make not a dragon or 3 headed mutation, but even better, why don't we add spider abomination? We don't have any spider equivalent in the nether (in overworld there is zombies [in nether zombie pigmans] and skeletons [wither skeletons], but only overworld Has spiders). This could be only spawn by obtaining very very rare item from spiders and giving it to some special and also rare structure. The Boss would have 1100 hp, it would be immune to any sharpness or fire aspect and it can sometimes, but rarely deny a shield. That would be amazing.

    Adding to fossils

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 01:45 PM PDT

Fossils currently look like pretty generic skulls and rib cages right? So why don't they add some lore to what they used to be? I propose findable paintings/artifacts that can reveal what they are. These listed ideas could add more of a paleontological or archaeological sense to the game.

Cave paintings: cave paintings would be an item that can be rarely found in caves that would portray human characters and other mobs just like in real life. For example one painting could be a bunch of humans fighting a giant creeper or something of the sort.

Tablets: stone tablets are findable in dungeons or mine shafts and work similar to how you read maps but are one pixel thick. The same general concept as cave paintings but holdable.

Fossil blocks: a block similar to stone but has a bone on the side. Drops a skull(not head a new skull) of any normal mob findable in game, possibly a nether variant too which could be another way to find wither skulls.

A sweet new mob who you're sure to love!

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 01:36 PM PDT

    The gumdrop.

It is encountered anywhere near sugar or sugar cane.

    It's just so adorwubble.

You can dye it, feed it sugar to heal it, or give it lapis lazuli to increase it's size, to a max of the size of a ghast.

    It drops sugar.

    Nether-based Trident (Pitchfork?)

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 09:59 AM PDT

Since the Nether is getting an update, I think we should get a new Nether-based Trident. Maybe called a Pitchfork but I don't know, that can be up to you guys.

This new weapon would be like the Trident, except it has a stronger melee attack and less range and range damage when thrown.

Obviously, the trident would have a Nether-like color scheme and can only be found, whether in chests or dropped by Piglin and/or Zombified Piglin.

It would have all the same enchantments available for the Trident, except for Riptide and Channeling. Those two enchantments would be replaced by:

    - Fire Channeling (name up for debate): Same as channeling but causes a small, fiery
    explosion.

    - Fire Aspect (maybe? need help with this one)

Just thought it would be cool to have a weapon resembling a devil's pitchfork. Thoughts?

Since husks turn into a zombie, then a drowned while in water, drowned should turn into a zombie, then a husk in a desert.

    Posted: 06 Oct 2019 06:31 PM PDT

Fairly straightforward concept. When a drowned is outside of water in a desert for a certain period of time, it will dry out into a normal zombie. When that zombie then stays in the desert above water for longer, it will dehydrate into a husk.

    Biome Idea - Redwood Forest

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:34 AM PDT

    • I realise that this is a somewhat common idea, I just wanted to do my take on it.

    Table of Contents

    • Redwood Trees
    • Timber Wolves
    • Bracken
    • Weasels
    • Deer
    • Villages
    • Druid Huts
    • General Aesthetic

    Redwood Trees

They are the same general shape as the giant spruce trees in Mega Taiga, but the wood is red with the bark being crimson. They would grow up to 60 blocks tall and are 2 x 2 in width. The leaves are a dark green colour and spread out more from the trunk than other types of leaves do. They take about 50% longer to grow from a sapling than other trees, although this can be sped up by bone meal, and must be planted in a 2 x 2 arrangement (like dark oak).

    Timber Wolves

The timber wolves are endemic to Redwood Forests and are slightly larger than normal wolves. They attack cows, sheep and pigs for food and scare away weasels. They cannot be tamed but follow the same trust mechanism as foxes. They are neutral and will attack if provoked. They have 14 HP (7 hearts) and deal 5 damage (2.5 hearts).

    Bracken

A two-block-high variety of ground cover, bracken looks like dark green-brown tendrils sprouting off a central stem. They damage players and mobs that walk through, although Deer are immune. Can be fed to Deer to make them enter love mode or planted around crops to distract nearby Deer (will explain why in the Deer section).

    Weasels

Small animals, about the size of a cat. They have brown fur on top and white fur on their stomach and are generally quite timid and will run away if the player moves too quickly close by to them. They hunt rabbits and chickens, with a special preference for ones trapped by fences, which they will just jump over. They also eat eggs. They are neutral but generally try to actively avoid combat. They have 8 HP (4 hearts) and deal 4 damage (2 hearts). They can be tamed by giving them raw chicken. Tamed weasels become ferrets and they hunt nearby rabbits and chickens except for ones inside fences placed by the player. When they kill the rabbit or chicken that was nearby, they bring the drops to the player.

    Deer

About the size of a horse, but 50% of the deer spawn with antlers, showing their male "gender". Males will fight each other if a female is close by. Deer are passive mobs and have 16 HP (8 hearts). They drop bone and raw venison (new meat) when killed. Deer enter love mode when fed Bracken. Deer will eat crops from any nearby farm and will jump over fences surrounding the crops. The only way to prevent this is to surround the crops with Bracken, which the Deer will eat instead, ignoring the crops. If the Deer eats all the Bracken, they will move away from the crops immediately.

    Villages

The houses will be made of Redwood planks and logs, with Redwood doors, steps, fences etc. Stone building will use mossy cobblestone. There will be multiple farms per village and a large lake in the middle of the village. Over the lake, there will be a canopy of redwood slabs supported by Redwood fences. In the middle of the canopy, there he be a bell hanging. The villagers will wear brown clothes that look as though they have been thatched from Bracken stems. The paths in the village will be podzol.

    Druid Huts

Look sort of like Witch Huts, but they are made of Redwood Logs and the entrance is at ground level. They have 2 above ground layers and a basement constructed out of mossy stone bricks. On the top floor there is a dark green bed and a chest containing random loot. On the ground floor there is a smoker, a couple of empty barrels, a crafting table and a furnace. In the basement, which is substantially larger than the above ground floors, about 3 times as large, along one side of the room there is a couple of empty pens made of redwood fences and one occupied pen with either a fox, timber wolf or weasel. If it is a weasel, the pen is two fence blocks high. On the other side of the room is a chest with randomly generated loot plus any 3 from the following selection in a stack size of 4-10; a random variety of meat, bone, spider eyes, string, gold nuggets, iron nuggets, redwood logs and bread. Additionally, there is a 10% chance to get either an iron hoe or an iron shovel. Around the exterior, there is a circle of arches and pillars made of cobblestone surrounding the Druid Hut. Druid Huts have the same rarity as Witch Huts.

    General Aesthetic

The Redwood Forest has a somewhat dim light level, around level 9-10, due to the dense canopy of redwood leaves, but on the ground layer is quite spacious, with the trees requiring large amounts of space to grow. The ground is mainly grass blocks with podzol around the bases of the trees. The grass is a green-brown colour, like a lighter shade of Bracken. The only ground cover is small and large Ferns and Bracken. Ponds are common, as are small streams. Druid Huts can be found rarely and villages more commonly. Foxes, wolves, timber wolves, weasels and deer, along with standard mobs (sheep, pig, chicken, cow, zombie, skeleton, creeper, spider) spawn in the Redwood Forest.

    Ambidextrous player

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 06:16 AM PDT

Add an option to make the player ambidextrous. Each hand would have 5 slots to put items. The 1 - 5 would be used to control the item selected on the left hand, while 6 - 0 would control the right hand. It would alternate between both hands when using items so players that are ambidextrous don't have an advantage. Example : https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoenixSC/comments/dehevk/ambidextrous/

MORE BIRDS!!! Eagles/Hawks, Falcons, Crows and Pelicans

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:22 PM PDT

Parrots are fine. They're cute but don't really add much to the game. Minecraft needs more bird mobs. Chickens are primarily a food source.

    EAGLES/HAWKS:

Could see them used like wolves, Neutral in wild unless provoked, but also tameable. They could make good hunting pets. Tamed with rabbit meat maybe? They could let out a call when danger is near, either while out with the player or roosting. Nests could be a new block that could become a wilderness source for eggs, feather and sticks.

    FALCONS:

Maybe too similar to Eagles/Hawks. Falcons could be used to tame and send out to scavenge, bring back survival necessities. Perhaps the Minecraft version of falconry is having them carry commands like, send them out for so much in game time and have them bring back items you need. Nothing rare, crafting material obtainable from the overworld.

    CROWS:

Neutral mobs, unless the player has iron, gold, diamonds or emeralds on them. They would have a chance to drop rareties upon being killed. Maybe a behavior they'd have is stealing items dropped by the player or even things you're trying to collect such blocks that have been broken.

    PELICANS:

Neutral and tameable, can carry oceanic blocks, items and mobs that may require water. Drops fish and feathers when killed.

    BONUS - THUNDERBIRD

When ever a Eagle/Hawk gets struck by lightning, there's a chance they become large hostile mobs that shoot lighting. This could be like a rare overworld version of Ghasts. SUPER RARE though.

Any birds/ ideas you'd like to add on??!

    Add Shepherd Villagers

    Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:22 PM PDT

I know the 1.14 update is done and all, but it would be really cool to have villagers who are shepherds by profession. They would automatically breed cows/sheep and they'd have dogs as pets to protect them and their flock.
