Putting a wool block beside a piston makes it less loud

Useful for those machines where you have pistons constantly firing up.

This was inspired by the note blocks sounding differently when placed on top of different blocks.

    strongholds need more traps.

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 06:22 AM PDT

Strongholds are kinda bland.Theyre just a giant stone brick maze you mine through.I'd like to propose some traps.

    1.unable to break stone bricks

When you enter a stronghold,a mystical force makes stonebricks unbreakable.(this does not apply to the end portal room because silverfish)

    2.Arrow traps

Tripwires and pressure plates that set of tipped arrows of harming. An actual threat and pretty rewarding to those who avoid it.

    3.Lava pits

Some of the stronghold chests drop you in lava. All chest will look trapped, but you never know which are really trapped.

    4.A room with a minefield

Presumably a Nether portal room. The rooms is made of obsidian and TNT.crossing the minefield will reward you with a chest with at least 3 diamonds.

    5.spawner rooms

A room with skeleton spawners and a lot of soul sand.A LOT OF SOUL SAND.The whole floor is made out of them. There's at least one in the way of the end portal.

    Anyone has more ideas?

    Scarecrows

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 09:40 AM PDT

More in-depth description of the new mob.
Scarecrows, in short, would be a new, buildable, Golem-like mob that scares away mobs to protect your land. They would walk (or hop i guess) around farmland, chasing mobs to scare them off. They could be dyed, but are weak to and afraid of fire.

Campfires should be dyeable to produce different colored smoke

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 03:32 PM PDT

Currently, campfires are useful as decoration because they can produce smoke particles. But I think that they would be even more useful if you could use dye to change the color of the smoke.
This would work by right-clicking a campfire with a dye. Gray dye would change the smoke back to the original color. This would not affect the functionality of the campfire but would help when detailing builds.

After getting Hero of the Village, Nitwit villagers should gift you Dirt and Dead Bushes.

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 10:41 AM PDT

This would just be a nice touch to make Nitwits more...nitwitted. Currently, Nitwits gift you Wheat Seeds, the same gift as an unemployed Villager.

Also, it would make Dead Bushes renewable!

    Note block recorder.

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 02:09 PM PDT

(this one is for you grandayy)

Ok so noteblocks are fun, music discs are fun, so i present you the noteblock register !

It looks like a old vinyl player, and when you click on it, it makes a light, and while the light is on, every noteblock sounds around 100 blocks are recorded.

To make a music disk, you need to put an empty disk (which you can craft, or find in dungeons), and when you click on the block while it's on light, you will be given a special disk.

When you put a special disk in a jukebox, it plays the music you made.

    Improvements for the Shulker

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 11:09 AM PDT

The Shulker is an incredibly unique mob and I absolutely love it. Here are my 2 ideas to improve this mob:

    The Wandering Shulker

The Wandering Shulker is a new mob, not a variation for the existing Shulker. It spawns randomly on the outer end islands, it's texture looks like a decayed Shulker. It only has the bottom half of it's shell, wich is completely decayed. It has no teleportation powers, but some other unique abilities.

This mob is neutral. It'll only attack the player if it gets harmed. If you feed the Wandering Shulker a chorus fruit, it'll turn it's head and point to the closest end city. After doing that, it'll create wings and fly away. Leaving it's shell behind. The shell will become a block, called shulker_shell_block. Wich, if broke with a silk touch tool, will drop 1 Shulker shell. The Wandering Shulker will fly and eventually despawn.

Regular Shulkers are hostile towards the Wandering Shulker. If the Wandering Shulker is attacked by another Shulker, it'll create it's wings and fly away.

    The Shulker Chestplate

The Shulker Chestplate is a craftable item.

It's a chesplate made out of Shulker Shells. It works similarly to the Thorns enchantment. If a player hits a player or mob that's using the Chestplate, it has a 10% chance of creating a Shulker bullet. Wich will follow the player that hit the user of the chestplate.

Enchantments that can be used on this item: Unbreaking, Mending, Protection, Blast Protection, Fire Protection, Curse of Vanishing, Curse of Binding and Levitation.

Levitation is a new enchantment. It increases the chance of creating a Shulker bullet. There are 5 levels, each level increases the chance by 10%.

This enchantment is a treasure enchantments. You can't get it from the enchantment table. You can trade it with a librarian villager, or find it on end city loot chests.

Breaking ice without Silk Touch should drop ice shards

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 10:26 PM PDT

Normally when you break ice, it'll just burst out water and nothing. Well, what about ice shards as well? Just like Glowstone, you get 0-2 shards of ice, and using four of them in a crafting recipe will craft an ice block. Or click the ground to make them point up like tiny little spikes that damage upon contact, and may also slow down the player/entity (low chance). Ice shards can be crushed and destroyed by walking on them with Iron Armour and above tiers. This will help save time on getting ice, and make ice farming a tad easier. If ice melts, it will not drop shards.

Ice shards can also be shot out of a dispenser, making them useful substitutes for arrows. Ice shard + arrow in crafting and you get an Ice Arrow, which freezes water, lava, and slows down undead mobs. It will also inflict high damage on fire-resistant mobs. Ice arrows will leave a trail of frosty particles behind, and are dropped/shot by Strays.

This applies to regular ice blocks ONLY.

    Compass and clock redstone functionality

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 04:37 AM PDT

As of now, compasses are only useful for crafting maps, a merely decorative feature since we have the coordinates in the f3 screen. So there should be a block, or some other way that utilises the compass (Like connecting comparators to a block with an item frame holding a compass) to output a redstone signal in the direction of the spawn point. Same thing for clocks, but the direction of the redston signal will represent the time of the day (East for morning, south for noon, etc). And yes, it can be used in the nether and in the end as a redstone randomizer.

Drongo Birds should be added alongside Meercats.

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 12:27 AM PDT

The Drongo bird tricks Meetcats to steal their food. Uses their own sounds/calls.

They should be added and imitate the Meercats and then swoop down near them when both are present in the Savanna. Causing the Meercats to angrily chase them away.

Nether Raids - Done by you, the player

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 06:40 PM PDT

TL;DR: You can get a band of piglins and use them to raid a Nether fortress for cool rewards or deadly consqeuences

Piglin Bands (Skip if you just are interested in the main post)

Since Mojang is planning to add piglins, my idea is that piglins will spawn in small camps (apparently they're called bastions) that are part of a band (ranging in size from 6-20 probably) and if you attack a member of the band, a piglin miniboss will spawn for that band. However, if you pay the piglins enough, their band will follow you (this isn't as useful as it seems, trust me, they will only be hostile to wither skeletons, withers, and mobs that attack them). You can only have one band following you at a time.

The Raid (Main Part of Post)

If you enter a nether fortress while a piglin band is following you, you start a raid on the Nether Fortress. Your piglins will become hostile to any Nether mobs on the Nether fortress, while every mob within a decent range will be angry at you and try to defend the Nether fortress from you and your piglin mob at all costs. Ghasts will target you way more with fireballs, nearby pigmen will be aggressive, etc. Hordes of mobs will come after you and try to thwart your attempts at raiding their fortress. Perhaps a miniboss could spawn, like some sort of deadly pigman mutant or something.

    Rewards and Consequences

Failure: If you die during the raid on the Nether fortress, or all of your piglin band dies (you will have to be careful to take care of your henchmen), you fail. A Nether portal will spawn nearby your last spawn point and a large horde of angry pigmen and wither skeletons will come out of the rift (they will not despawn). They will always target your last spawn point, so even if you change your spawn point, you're in for trouble. The pigman miniboss will probably also come out of the portal, but I'll probably flesh that out in another post. If the monsters stay in one area for a long enough period of time, one pigman and one wither skeleton spawner will appear in the area that cannot be destroyed; you want to get these mobs out of your hair as soon as possible and simply changing your spawnpoint will not be enough.

Success: If you succeed during the raid, the Nether fortress will be abandoned (other than the blaze spawners), and you will gain a wither skeleton skull. Your piglin band will now have a home in the Nether fortress and will not follow you everywhere you go and your reputation will rise in the piglin community, making all piglins give you better trades (idk if your reputation should be capped or not). You will also gain a good amount of experience points for successfully completing the raid.

    Knowledge Books in Survival

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 01:35 PM PDT

Currently, there's an unused item in the game called a Knowledge Book that causes you to unlock a crafting recipe when you press the use button. This doesn't occur in survival at the moment, but if it should, here are my ideas for it.

In a book and quill, you can add crafting/smelting/blasting/smoking recipes you have unlocked alongside text. When someone reads a page of the signed book, they unlock the crafting recipes on it. This wouldn't consume the book, either. That way, the recipes can be unlocked infinite times with one book.

Although it wouldn't be that useful, it would still be cool to implement knowledge books into the game.

The F3 Screen Should Be Toggleable With Cheats In The World Creation Screen

    Posted: 26 Oct 2019 01:30 PM PDT

This might be a bit controversial, since I don't think most people see the F3 menu as cheating, but think about it, it's supposed to be a dev menu. Seeing your coordinates, seeing the chunk borders, knowing the light level of the block you're standing on, etc. These are all useful for devs and for advanced tech, but there are ways to find out all of these in-game (or workarounds for each of them), that would give more flavor to the game then just pressing one button and getting all of the information.

For example, one of the gameplay benefits of this change would mean maps actually have a purpose other than decoration! Think about it, whenever you find something interesting in your world, or whenever you need to find your base, you press F3 and check your coordinates. But, take away the ability to see the coordinates, and suddenly maps become a lot more valuable to have. Having empty maps on you while exploring becomes the easiest way to remember where everything is.

Bedrock already has a feature similar to this, where the Player being able to see their coordinates is a world option. I don't like the idea of all the information available from the F3 menu be blocked from the Player entirely, but making it toggleable through the world creation menu gives the best of both worlds.

    Edit: Grammar

Villager ghosts, graveyards, and graveyard tasks

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 09:36 PM PDT

Tl;dr: Give villager ghosts the items they want in order to get a reward and pretty up the graveyard.

Villages would sometimes spawn with a graveyard attached. These would appear as a gated off square of grass with new headstone blocks in orderly rows. Headstones spawn in various shapes and have 2 blocks of coarse dirt in the front to signify disturbed earth.

Some nights, restless villager ghosts appear and mill around their gravestone. When you interact with them, they will present to you a vague and garbled list of requests. An example follows:

    " ... something Red...

    .... something otherworldly....

    ... something valuable .... "

Their demands would be requested if you give them an item that fits each request. For example, this particular ghost would be happy if you gave them a poppy flower, a blaze rod and a gold bar.

The ghost will dissipate and reward you with experience and treasure upon satisfying their requests. The treasure ghosts offers will range from random saplings all the way up to nice enchanted books. Perhaps the ghosts could even give you an item that specifically repels or deals massive damage to the annoying Phantom mob.

Village generated headstones spawn with a coating of moss, but this moss will clear when you satisfy their requests as an indicator that you've dealt with that particular ghost.

As in game time passes, the ghosts will reappear and their headstone will grow over as they come about to wander again.

If you desecrate a grave the ghost will be displeased and will dissipate forever.

I think this would be a good idea because it is a Halloweeny way to give the player more fetch quests and rewards to find when they visit a village. It will give the player something to do after being absent from that village for a while and the proposed anti-phantom item they offer could save some frustration for players that deal with them regularly. Players would also gain access to a gravestone recipe through the stone cutter in order to memorialize whoever they see fit.

Iron golems will place their flower on a clear grave occasionally, sweet guys that they are.

    New double tall flowers

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 05:45 PM PDT

We have an easy source of red, yellow, pink, and magenta dye (Rose Bush, Sunflower, Lilac, and Peony) all of which can drop a copy of themselves in item form when given bonemeal. I suggest we add some new double tall flowering plants that also give a renewable dye source.

ORIENTAL LILY: It would be a common flowering plant, similar to the others. Because there is so many light grey giving small flowers, and only one white dye flower (Lily of the Valley) it would drop white dye.

MONKSHOODS: A purplish blue double tall flower that will drop its item when given bonemeal, and gives blue dye when put in the crafting recipe. But be careful! These are highly potent, and will give damage to the player (similar to berry bush) Luckily, they can only be found in Roofed Forests.

SHADOW ROSEBUSH: These doubletall flowers can only be found in the nether, and are EXTREMELY rare to find (usually finding them as single plants between multiple biomes) and require to be planted on soul sand (Or other future variants) as to grow. Instead of bonemeal, it would need to be rightclicked with blaze powder in order to obtain its copied item form.

I just thought this would flesh out how we obtain dyes in game. Let me know your thoughts.

    The Enderine (New End mob)

    Posted: 25 Oct 2019 07:56 PM PDT

Since the end is probably going to get updated after the nether I came up with a new mob.

Appearance: The Enderine, as it will be called, will have a similar model to the a Salmon but it will be a bit more defined with fins on its side and a longer dorsal fin. It's tail will also be different, separating into three parallel parts in a triangle formation. In total the Enderine will be 3.5 blocks long, 1.5 blocks tall, and 3/4ths of a block wide. It will be mostly black with its eyes, fins and tail tips being purple.

    Stats: HP: 60 (30 hearts) Damage: 5 (easy), 8 (medium), 12 (hard)

Behavior: They will be neutral and will turn aggressive when a player looks at them directly or fires a projectile within 10 blocks of them. To attack the Enderine will get within 16 blocks of a player then like a guardian it will stare directly at the player charging up. It's charge will take 3 seconds and be shown by its tail spinning in circles, spinning faster and faster until it's fully charged then it will tackle the player. It's speed tackle speed will be the same as an ocelot running away.

Spawning: Enderines will spawn like twenty blocks form the edge of the main island and fly around, generally avoiding the center part. And they also spawn on the outer end islands. They will be about as common as a dolphin is in the overworld.

Drops: 0-2 Ender shards about a 40% chance for each. 0-1 Enderine Tail 5% chance of dropping 10 experience orbs

The Endertail could be placed down as a trophy, and could hold a item suspended in the air that won't despawn. This would provide a new way to showcase a player's greatest achievements or coolest items. The Ender shards would be used to create ender arrows, which once shot would teleport and land directly where the player was aiming.
