    Piglin/Hoglin feedback

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 05:51 AM PDT

Have you interacted with Piglins/Hoglins on the latest snapshots (20w10a or later)? If so we'd love some feedback!

We consider these mobs mostly done, so in this thread we're mostly looking for minor tweaks & improvements. For new features or more radical changes please use feedback.minecraft.net.

    Things we are curious about:

    • Overall experience. How do you interact with these mobs? What do you like/dislike about them? Share your stories/pics/videos!
    • Bartering. Have you used bartering? What do you use it for? How do you feel about the barter loot table (types of items & rarity)?
    • Combat. How do you feel about the balance when fighting (or avoiding) piglins/hoglins? Too easy? Too hard? Just right?
    • Farming. Have you tried farming Piglins and/or Hoglins? Automated farming (big machines) or manual (such as simple hoglin pens)? How do you feel about the difficuly, the reward, and the overall balance & experience of farming them?
    • Spawning & power balance. How do you feel about the number of piglins/hoglins spawning, which biomes they spawn in, and the power balance between the two mobs?
    • Any other thoughts?

Keep things civil and constructive please :)

    Loops and ambience

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 07:10 AM PDT

With the addition of loops and loop addition sounds implemented in the ocean aquatic update and most recently the upcoming nether update, i've become annoyingly aware of how great these ambient sounds are and how they are absent from the game apart from underwater and the nether.

I think implementation of loops/loop addition ambience would be a good addition to other locations in the game. For example, biome specific loops with smooth transition between biomes.
    For example:
-Forest: Faint wind in leaves sounds loop. Loop additions for trees creaking, bird sounds, rarer tree falling sounds.
-Mountain: Wind sound loop. Loop additions of rockfall sounds, louder wind gusts, stone rumbling
-Taiga: Similar to forest but with additional loops of wolves howling, foxes screeching.
-Roofed forest: Quiet. Occasional loop additions of mysterious noises.
    Etc.

The addition of more widespread ambient sounds would, imo, add a lot to the atmosphere of minecraft and add much needed immersion.

A Creative Menu Tab that includes a working crafting table, anvil, furnace, etc.

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 08:01 PM PDT

I am currently experimenting with making a new gear set in survival, it's called LAT Gear, and when designing it i went into creative to make the gear itself. But when i did it i had to bring out the anvil, which got me thinking. Maybe there could be a different tab in the creative menu, With a working crafting table, furnace, anvil etc. So that way we wouldn't have to place all the furnaces and stuff, to get some stuff in creative. Especially a loom because you can make custom banners without having to leave the menu.

Doghouses and Cat Baskets so you can make you pets wander the area around

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 06:47 PM PDT

It would be very useful to have your dogs wander around the house and attack skeletons, and the cats scaring away the creepers, having fun sitting on chests and stuff ! It's a bit annoying that the only options we have right now are sitting still or following you around everywhere, so this would address it ! And two new craftable blocks seem to me like the perfect solution : your pets behave sort of like bees and sometimes go back to their designated block, except you can see them inside.

Trident enchantments can be used if you drank a water bottle in the last 30 seconds

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 11:44 AM PDT

The trident is really good, but for how rare it is.. the enchantments on it are kind of niche. Riptide is awesome but can only be used in water, making it useless in the end or nether. Instead, if you drank a bottle of water in the last 30 seconds, you can still use riptide as much as you want! Impaling could work like bedrock (where you do more damage in water), but instead you also can drink water to get a similar effect. Channeling is similar, though instead of water for this one, it might be more balanced if instead you had to drink a glowing potion or something, to make it a little bit more challenging to summon lightning. There also should be .a way to summon rain or not ingame, like a totem? But thats for another thread

    Pumpkips, a new tamable creature.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 05:39 AM PDT

Pumpkips are small neutral mobs. They spawn rarely inside naturally generated pumpkins and pop out of them if startled. Pumpkips are startled by water touching their pumpkin, their pumpkin getting carved or the player attempting to destroy it. When a pumpkip pops out of a pumpkin it will result in a popped pumpkin, which has a hole in the top where the pumpkip came out of. Pumpkins will also drop seeds when popped

    Stats

    Health: 4 hearts

    Damage: 1 heart per shot.

    Attack radius: 20 blocks.

    Behaviours

As i mentioned before, pumpkips are neutral and will attack you if you attack them. They can be tamed however, using carved and reguler pumpkins on a pumpkip will give you a tamed pumpkip. Tamed pumpkips are like dogs, and will protect you from danger by attacking anything that attacks you, or anything that you attack. They can also be told to sit.

An additional thing they do is controlling golems by jumping on their heads. When they manage to get on the head of one the golem will look down at the ground for a few seconds then become active. Controlled golems will have the same attack behaviours as pumpkips, and other pumpkips will view the pumpkip controlling a golem as a form of leader by following it. Snowgolems are immune to this if they have their pumpkin on.

Additionally, pumpkips will jump on their owner's head and sit on it, similar to a parrot. They can be forced to get off by swimming or crouching.

    Attacks

Pumpkips have 1 attack. They'll shoot a burst of 3 pumpkip seeds. Pumpkip seeds have the same trajectory as snowballs.

    Drops

Pumpkips drop pumpkip seeds, which can be used to plant a pumpkip stem. Pumpkip stems grow pumpkins with baby pumpkips in them, if left for long enough inside or outside the pumpkin they were born in, they will grow up into an adult. Pumpkip seeds can also be thrown as a projectile.

A 'Pockets' enchantment for armor items, to temporarily and incrementally increase personal inventory space.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 07:05 AM PDT

First, the rarity of an enchanting table for Pockets would need to be equal to Silk Touch and conflict with all protection-type armor enchantments, since this would be a very useful (possibly excessively useful) enchantment to have if just on one armor item.

Each armor piece having the "Pockets" enchantment would add one more row of slots, up to a maximum of three rows. The new rows would be added over and above the player's standard inventory (where row 0 is the hot bar, row 1 is the next row up, etc). If all four armor items have Pockets, the fourth armor item equipped has its Pockets enchantment suppressed unless one of your other Pockets-enchanted armor items gets broken.

Whenever an armor piece with Pockets breaks while being worn or if one gets unequipped: unless there is that fourth Pockets item in play, then any items in the topmost row all get dropped immediately and automatically. So if one of your Pockets armor items is close to breaking, you will still have some say in what would get dropped first.

As for generated items, one might find Pocket armor in buried treasure, nether fortresses, woodland mansions, shipwrecks, and pillagers. Probably not blacksmith shops unless the chance for it is really small. Pockets armor found in these venues should be exclusively leather or iron. Diamond armor with Pockets should be practically impossible to find outside the Nether or The End.

Iron Pockets armor might be lootable exclusively as rare skeleton, stray and wither skeleton drops (all those arrows have to come from somewhere, you know). If zombies, drowned, and husks were allowed to drop Pockets armor, theirs would definitely need to be leather-only.

I feel this enchantment is different enough from Ender Chest use that a given player could get along with using both without either becoming obsolete.

    Bone as a wood variant.

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 06:48 PM PDT

With the soulsand valley adding a lot more bone structures bone blocks and bones now have an abundance to them.

What if we could have Bone items like we done with woods. From doors and trap doors to fences and buttons. All having a very bone like design. Items like the fence and the doors would look like bones tied together. The button could have a small skull shape to it A pressure plate could look like a ribcage on the floor.

Any other obvious design choices im missing? What do you think?

Gamerule to change overworld:nether coordinates correlation (8:1 default).

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 02:06 PM PDT

As a vanilla server owner with verry little gameplay tweaks, I am concerned with upcoming problem with netherite ore availability for my players. Because my world has set custom world borders (6k from spawn) for performance sake, so do nether (mere 750 block from spawn, which is quite limited) because portal linking mechanics. It would be nice if such feachure would be implemented in some or other way.

With the new Nether update, it seems mojang is trying to make the Nether more liveable, with food and wood, as well as a trading system, so I propose that Basalt could act like a nether cobblestone, I mean how are you going to cook your raw porkchops without a furnace, or make a house that could also be resistant to ghast explosions, alright done cool, love you

New Use for the Smithing Table: Prismarite.

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 05:05 AM PDT

Inspired by this post by u/SirIkaros

Prismarite Gear would be obtained by upgrading Diamond Gear with Prismarite Chunks, which would either be a new Guardian Drop or crafted with Prismarine and a new Guardian Drop be crafted with a Turtle Shell, 4 Prismarine Shards and 4 Guardian Spikes, a new Guardian Drop.

The armor will have the same Armor and Armor Toughness as Diamond, and will have some perks, two to be exact.

1 - Each armor piece adds more 'respiration' similar to the Turtle Shell.

2 - Each armor piece has natural Thorn-like effect, that only works in water or in rain. This stacks with the Enchant.

The weapons and tools will not be hindered in water.

What are the lilies for? I've figured out what they're for!

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 04:06 AM PDT

Have you ever wondered why you need lilies in Minecraft? You can find the lily in a swamp, catch it while fishing, but it's not used for anything. Recently, I've been thinking about how you can use the lily in Minecraft, so I came up with an idea.

You can create a new block of 9 lilies - Block of Lilypad. This block can be used as fuel. This block can also be used as a turtle feed. This block can also be used as a new ingredient for the new Emaciation potion.

For a few days, I've been trying to make a concept for this block. I think it worked out pretty well.

    Colored ligth emitting nether Torch

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 03:55 PM PDT

What if the new nether torches emitted blue colored ligth along with the new blue flames?

Same could be applied to redstone objects, they could emitt a red ligth.

and you could even add more kinds of torches with custom ligth colours.

It would help add aesthetic to a build, and make things more colourful than they already are.

    Class armours

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 03:51 PM PDT

Dont get me wrong i dont want minecraft to become RPG game but with introduction od netherite i thought it would be cool to have other upgrades for diamond armor. Netherite is obviously meele upgrade ( lower knock back etc.)

Some Archer/crossbow armor (upgrading ore would spawn in overworld in specific biomes) when you are reloading crossbow or stringing bow you are getting invisibility and more damage if crouching

Alchemist armor you can upgrade brewing stand for more potions all potions have longer durability etc.

Also i am thinking about some armors for underwater combat and upgrades for elytra, maybe new work station .

    The island update/ crab update

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 10:52 PM PDT

This update would make lone islands more interesting. Instead of small islands of sand, dirt, or even trees. And when I mean island I don't mean it being giant. I mean muck like mooshroom islands and there size max. But this update could have a lot more stuff like...

Palm trees: In the 2018 minecon it was revealed that we would get palm trees in deserts. But what say we can't have it on islands. These trees would drop coconuts.

Crabs: Crabs would be a passive mob if you step or walk on the crab it would pinch at you taking half a heart. These mobs breed with kelp. And when slain, the crab will drop crab meat and has a chance to drop a crab shell. And of course it will dance to music from a juke box. Also they have a rare chance of being a blue color. And the crab shell will also be blue.

King Crab: King crab is a rare mob. It will act like iron golems and are as tall as cows and as wide as an iron golem. These guys can't be hit on the body and the only way to harm them is to hit them in the eyes. And these guys would be bulky having 100 health points. They would drop 2-5 crab meat and will always drop the king crab shell. Also does not have a blue form.

Hermit crab: These guys would be the size of turtle eggs you can beak there shells with a pick axe of any type but wouldn't drop anything. But It would dig into the sand after it breaking. If you are in a 6 block radius from the crab it will be exposed so you can shoot it with a bow, trident, or crossbow. It will drop crab meat and a shell. If you break the shell you can drop a bucket or empty coconut and the crab who suffered from the shell breakage will pick it up and use the bucket or coconut as the shell. Bucket or coconut drops after killed. Also can sometimes spawn with nautilus shell. But cannot be put on the hermit crab.

Coconut crabs: I suggested this on its own but thought I would put this in here too. So I suggested that it would climb on the palm trees and would drop 3-4 crab meat. And you can breed it by using coconuts. Coconut crabs are a passive mob, when provoked it will attack you. but when hit by it you will get the poison effect. Also it can be found in a blue color.

Spider Crab: These guys will inhabit and walk on the ocean depths near the island. these are hostile mobs who will attack if near them. The spider crabs will drop only 2-3 crab meat but can also can guard sunken ships and ruined underwater villages.

Crab meat: Crab meat will fill 1 and a half hunger points cooked crab meat will fill 3 hunger points.

Coconuts: Coconuts are drinkable and are like a bucket of milk in which it gets rid of all potion effects. but after drinking, it can be eaten to fill 2 hunger points. All it leaves is an empty coconut which is pretty much a bowl, and can be crafted in to the many different stews and soup. And act like buckets and can carry milk and water, no lava. And also keeps the water in its original color like green water from swamps.

Wet Stone: Wet stone is stone found on beaches or under water and is a dark grey with a hint of brown variant of the stone we all know and love. Also have cobble stone and brick stone variants. When smelted it turns into regular stone.

Conch: 3 of the shells dropped from hermit crabs will make the conch. It's use is making the horn sound from pillagers when they do a raid. The conch causes villagers to run away and iron golems to attack you. But roaming pillagers will help attack hostile mobs with you. But won't work during raids.

The Crab Shell Shield: This is crafted with 8 crab shells surrounding a king crab shell. This shield has more durability than a regular shield. But there is a key difference. If you hold down the crouch button it will start to do a charge attack. This will improve with the aqua infinity enchantment making the charge attack will work under water. It can also be blue if you manage to get 8 blue crab shells.

Spear: The spear would pretty much be the trident but would be crafted with wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite. but it can't use the riptide or channeling enchantment. And won't work as well underwater as the trident.

Banana bushes: These bushes would be 2 blocks tall and would drop up to 3 bananas when fully grown. Bananas would be crafted into banana seeds. And Fills 1 and a half food points. And after eating, it leaves a banana peel in your inventory. And it's used to fill composers and make pandas flip then interacting with the banana peel.

Poison berries: These berries would look like the sweet berries but are purple and cause the poison and nausea effects. But gives the haste effect as a good side. It also gives a better chance of a king crab to spawn If found on the island. Fills 1 food point

Map in bottles: Randomly maps in bottles will be found drifting towards islands. Put them in a cartography table to take the map out of the bottle. They usually lead you to a treasure chest but have a 5% chance of having an ocean monument map or a wooden mansion map.

Drift wood: Random types of wooden planks will drift toward beaches or islands. and can also have rare chance of being Bamboo or iron.

Tiki torches : Put a torch with 2 sticks in a crafting tables to make a tiki torch. The torch is as tall as 2 blocks. And it would have a soul fire version.

Barnacles: Basically purple sea pickles but you can place it in all different directions but they don't glow. It can only be in water because if it's not it will turn white and die, much like corral. It can only be found in ship wrecks. The only way to remove it is with a shovel.

Other things • ship recks spawn more near islands • parrots spawn on islands • piglens would use gold spears • bamboo could spawn in islands • drowned attack crabs and hermit crabs • cartographer villagers trade maps in bottles • blacksmiths trade iron spears • there would be new island/ tiki village type • water near island have a light blue, see through color • crabs attack baby turtles • spider crabs attack all ages of turtles • guardians attack spider crabs • map in bottles can be fished for • bananas can spawn in jungle biomes

This took a while to think of and type it so I would like to see your thoughts and opinions. Also this may be to much. And should I keep editing this post with new island ideas or just leave it as is.

Bones should be able to be used as substitutes for sticks in crafting recipes

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 11:19 PM PDT

For instance, you could craft a diamond pickaxe with three diamonds and two bones, rather than two sticks.

This could serve as a way for players who are in caves to craft new pickaxes, and players in the Nether a way to craft a new pickaxe without returning to the overworld. Also it would make living in desert biomes more tolerable, since players can use bones they obtain off of skeletons underground or at night.

A new arthropod in deeper caves

    Posted: 08 Mar 2020 05:21 PM PDT

Why do we need this? Right now bane of arthropods is kind of the most useless enchant for a sword, adding a new arthropod mob would help make it useful. In addition add a danger deeper in caves encourages players to invest more into iron tools and carefully approach more valueable resouces like gold and diamond instead of beelining for them minutes into a new world.

What would the mob be? Arthropod is pretty vague, from what I could find from some quick searching roaches and centipedes seem to be the most common arthropods in deeper caves in real life (excluding spiders). I'm leaning more towards something resembling a roach (unless Mojang wants to make an athropod up) as a centipede would just be a new thing with lots of legs which spiders already do. Roaches have a whole new factor to them.

the underground towns of goblins minecraft update fantasy and magic

    Posted: 09 Mar 2020 09:33 AM PDT

1 Goblin underground villages appear in caves

generated in the Overworld that lead to the town or village of goblins

the goblins would look similar to the Goblin Traders mod of

    MrCrayfish [img] https://i.imgur.com/QBYPd7j.png [/ img]

2 the goblins are distrustful if you attack one they will attack you all and an event like the Illagers invasion will begin, if you earn their confidence by exchanging items with them for gold, not for emeralds, their level of confidence increases and they will no longer attack you, too raise your confidence if you defend them from an attack by Illagers

3 the goblins have another type of golems in this case stone trollagers with an appearance similar to the pirmitive mobs mod [img] https://i.imgur.com/RYwJZue.png [/ img] that come alive at night, like the troll of stone only come alive at night the goblins will defend themselves by day with a sword or rather knives and bows

4 goblins could ride chickens like zombies when defending themselves against the Illagers or the player

5 the goblins are the only ones who have the artisan class of weapons that allow them to make (throwing knife, hammers of different types of minerals and spears that work as in Balkon's Weapon Mod)

6 the goblins like the Illagers have a beast that is a Komodo dragon that occasionally shoots fireballs

7 by beating all the goblins you will get an achievement called one man vs army

8 when a villager and a goblin meet they will look suspicious with a sign of interrogation in the head and get the achievement Make Love, Not Warcraft

    9 new enchantments like

hammer of fire: which causes the hammer wave to burn the enemies around by right clicking with the hammer.

hammer reloaded: increases the speed of reloading the hammer wave.

Thor hammer: on the right click a lightning strike will fall from the sky.

incendiary knife: when the knife hits an enemy it burns it.

thor's spear: when the spear hits an enemy, lightning strikes

    end
