Make Shulker boxes break first when dropped in lava and fire

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 08:44 AM PDT

When you drop shulker boxes with items, they "break" which causes them to drop all the items inside which probably will spread and save most items. This is also extremely good when dropping ancient debris, netherite, etc in shulker boxes so you don't just lose them to fire.

    Curious Enderman

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 11:37 PM PDT

Endermen are inter-dimensional beings who have the ability to instantaneously teleport to a given location... yet, there is not much indication for their intelligence unless you talk about "theories/lore" which aren't necessarily official.

My idea is simple. Make them curious.

    1. If an Enderman is nearby and sees you, it will teleport to you and sort of "investigate" you for a short while and then simply teleport away.
    2. This would also happen with other mobs like Illagers, Wandering Traders etc. but not Golems for obvious reasons.
    3. Since Nether Portals teleport you to another dimension, Endermen have a slightly higher chance spawning around a Ruined Portal. If one is nearby already, it will teleport to the RP and sorta "investigate" it before going away.

Note: Won't work for artificial portals because it could be exploited.

    Canoes

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 07:45 AM PDT

I've been thinking that there should be a different kind of boat, maybe a canoe, that could go about 1.5x faster but steers slower. This slower steering mechanic could be good for moving on rivers or creeks. It could be crafted by having a boat, leather, and 2 logs

add faces into the Soul Fire

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 05:31 PM PDT

I recently made a post to r/Minecraft where I showed a drawing of Soul Fire but it had faces in it, like the Soul Sand. So I thought I'd suggest it here!

the comments on the post were a mix of people who liked the Soul fire the way it is, people who'd rather have the smoke include the faces, and people who liked the faces in the fire.

personally, I believe it'll be easier to add the faces to the smoke as the fire animation doesn't need to be redone to incorporate the faces.

EDIT:I posted it to the feedback site!

Edit #2: seems like the submission was removed

    Minecraft needs an agricultural update

    Posted: 21 Jun 2020 11:36 PM PDT

Everyone is complaining for a cave update or excited for the nether update but from the beginning I wanted an agricultural update. Ever since I even started playing Minecraft, I wanted more things to grow and eat. The village and pillage update made it completely ready for this, but they didn't persue this. The content would be a variety of more plants and vegetables, as well more variety of ways to cook the food. I'm always at a confusion when I want to decorate a hall in my castle, as a lot of the food is rather unoriginal.

    More World Options

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 06:25 AM PDT

This is my idea on how improve Minecraft's current world options. This will make Amplified more practical to use and adds another option for those who loves exploring. These options won't break existing seeds and just seperates seeds into more categories. We can even get a higher Nether and End.

    Small: (Replaces Infinite) +Exactly the same 1. 255 build height 2. 127 terrain height 3. 62 sea level and 11 lava level(overworld) 4. 31 lava level (nether)

This controls whether items burn in lava or not. Maybe there could be a cactus version too.

Ctrl + Middle Mouse Button to pick up pre-tuned noteblocks

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 09:31 AM PDT

Ctrl + Middle Mouse Button lets you pick up blocks with NBT tags. Seeing as the tuning on a noteblock is NBT data, I think it would save a lot of time to be able to pick up Note Blocks. I understand it might make projects on YouTube for example less appreciable but I think it would be worth it.

    Items of interest

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 09:01 AM PDT

Items of interest would appear when trading with a villager, the item would correlate to there perfusion like mabey a fisherman is looking for a tropical fish or a a preist is looking for a rare potion ingredient lika a ghast tear,in exchange for the item you could get a large amount of emeralds,a large discount,or even a reward specific to the villagers job,for instance if you give an item of interest to a Fletcher they would mabey give you an enchanted bow or a large amount of arrows.

Flammable objects should slowly crack until they break

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 11:40 AM PDT

It's a small detail, but if we saw something flammable start to crack like when we break blocks, I think it would be cool and would let us know how much longer it will be until it breaks.

    Add dangers to farming

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 08:59 AM PDT

I'd like to see some risk to farming, like disease, weeds, rodent infestations. Food becomes an annoyance rather than a driver early on in the game. Want a mega heard of cows- you have to feed them regularly to live, not just breed. Have a 20 chunk wheat farm- disease. Have 10 DC's of potatoes, well, they rotted. Diseased plants change color, spreads like mycelium, and must be removed with a hoe. Instead of a zombie raid, you get a rabbit raid that eats every crop type. Slow down crop growth so bone healing crops is a valuable, but expensive, skill.

I dont mean make it a farming sim, just less of a guaranteed thing. When I join a new server or start a new world, food is a big deal. Then I work the farm, expand it, and in about the time it takes to get full diamond armor with a few enchants, I'm set for food for the rest of the game.

This could be toggled, or set with a sliding scale at world creation.

Went to add a flair and realized weather/biome should play a role as to what can grow where. Cactus and wheat shouldn't grow in a jungle and crops should need more water in a desert biome.

    New systems for each mob:

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 02:47 PM PDT

    Hunting.

Mobs already hunt in the game, but i wont to make it on a schedule. These mobs hunt from sunrise to sunset: cats, guardians, llamas, ocelots, and wolves.

these mobs hunt at night to midnight: foxes, illagers, iron golems, polar bears, wolves, and zombie variants.

what is hunting? they go out and track down mobs they attack. Some mobs like illagers find villages, and some like zombies do the same thing. If they have baby variants, they feed the food items (any items that replenish hunger) to their young ones.

    Sleeping

This is from night to midnight, its when all of the mobs go to an area under a tree or in a cave, and stay there, if they have a sitting animation, they sit, if they have a sleeping animation, they sleep. Only mobs that have these traits do this. Mobs that hunt from night to midnight sleep at day.

    Dinner

Dinner at any time at sunset, any mobs that have obtained food items share them with each other.

Dinner Food likely: these mobs will perfer to eat one type of food over another. If they consume that food an that food has an effect (such as teleporting) they gain that effect, here is the list of food they perfer over another, from greatest food to least greatest food.

Supernatural Food: Enchanted Golden Apple, Golden Apple, Golden Carrot, Always eaten first.

Good Food: Cooked Mutton, Cooked Porkchop, Cooked Salmon, Steak, Always Eaten Second.

Normal Food: Baked Potato, Beetroot Soup, Beetroot, Bread, Carrots, Cooked Chicken, Cooked Cod, Cooked Rabbit, Mushroom Stew, Rabbit Stew, Suspicious Stew, Always Eaten Third

Low Food: Apple, Chorus Fruit, Dried Kelp, Melon Slice, Poisonous Potato, Potato, Pumpkin Pie, Raw Beef, Raw Chicken, Raw Mutton, Raw Porkchop, Raw Rabbit, Always Eaten Fourth

Poor Food: Cake, Cookie, Honey Bottle, Pufferfish, Raw Cod, Raw Salmon, Rotten Flesh, Spider Eye, Sweet Berries, Tropical Fish, Always Eaten Last.

What items do they pick up?
They do not pick up items from what they hunted, i mean, they do, but not just those items, they always pick up what they see lying on the ground that is a food item/listed above. They also perfer to pick up them the same way the eat them: supernatural first, poor last, etc. The reason why is the have nine inventory slots so they make sure the eat the food that they like most of all.

If a mob hunts another mob that is also a hunter, but that second mob does not have the first mob on its list of prey, it does not fight back.
To put it simpley, if a polar bear attacked a fox, who is also a hunter, the fox would not fight back, because the polar bear is not on its list of prey.

During raids, evokers should spawn in along with 1 or 2 vexes. Here's why.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 01:33 AM PDT

"This makes no difference at all!", you're thinking. And you are partially right.

This change would make no difference whatsoever to normal raids, but it's effect on another front would be far more dramatic. This change would break AFK raid farms!

Raid farms are objectively the most powerful farm in the game, granting a nigh infinite supply of totems of undying, saddles, emeralds, xp, etc., with barely any effort at all. 1.16 nerfed AFK fish farms, so I think raid farms should come next.

Oh, and some of you may think, "How would this break raid farms exactly?" Well, all raid farm designs I have seen depend on killing evokers before they spawn vexes. This is because vexes pass right through blocks without taking damage from even lava, and as such, could deal damage to the player. This change would make such farms completely non AFK-able, which alone nerfs them in a big way without making raids themselves any less rewarding.

And as always, thanks for reading! :)

    Rainforest Biome With Features

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 09:11 AM PDT

I think that there should be a rainforest biome in Minecraft.

    Trees

There would be many Kapok trees, since they are generally found in the majority of rainforests. The trees would be tall like jungle trees, and there would be rain particles dripping from some of the trees.Of course, the Kapok trees would be capable of turning into wood planks, doors, slabs, stairs and all that other wood is capable of. The Kapok trees would have Kapok leaves.

    Animals

There would be multiple animals found in the rainforest. I think that frogs should not only be put in swamp biome, but also in the rainforest biome. They could be in different colours with different spots, and would be poisonous. Any player that interacts with the frog would get poisoned for 6 seconds. The frogs would be found in ponds in the rainforest or on leaves of trees. They will eat small animals like dragonflies and butterflies. The frogs would be tiny, like parrots. As mentionned, I think butterflies and dragonflies should be implemented in the game. Dragonflies were mentionned in the FPS list, but i think both dragonflies and butterflies should be capable of being captured in a potion bottle, or a new bottle. Butterflies would suck on flowers, like bees. Dragonflies would light up in the night and hang around in groups. Of course, the usual sheeps and chickens would be in the rainforest. Cows will not be found in the rainforest. The rainforest ponds and rivers will inhabit tropical fish. I believe that toucans would be a great addition to the rainforest. Toucans would act very scared, flying away if you walk or sprint to them. They will only remain calm if you sneak while holding a sweet berry or a watermelon in your hand. They can be bred with watermelons.

    Flowers

There should be two new flowers added that can be found in the rainforest biome: The passiflora and pink and purple orchids. They are commonly found in rainforests and are extremely unique. The pink and purple orchids will make pink and purple dye. There should also be blue orchids and peonys found in the rainforest.

    Agriculture

You will find melons in the Rainforest and also a new plant, figs. Figs will be found hanging from Kapok trees in the rainforest biome. Sugar cane will also be available near the bodies of water. Figs can be grown the same way as cocoa (hang the fig on a Kapok tree). The figs can be eaten alone, or with honey. You can create honey figs by gathering honey in a potion bottle and combining it with a fig in the crafting table. They heal 3 hunger bars, but the fig alone heals one hunger bar.

    Buildings

There would be villages found in the rainforest biome and temples. The temples have traps and contain 3 chests with loot. They are made of stone bricks and other stone components.

    Molten Chests

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 01:38 PM PDT

Currently, shulker boxes burn even when netherite items are inside. What if there was a way around this?

Unlike many other posts, this isn't a FPS netherite shulker box. This is obtained a completely different way. To get a Molten Chest, the player must go mining for magma blocks. These magma blocks have a small chance to drop an item called Magma Fragments (any ideas for chance percentages?). 4 magma fragments can be put together in order to obtain a Magma Plate. Not like a dining plate or a pressure plate or anything. This magma plate can then be applied to a chest on a smithing table for one Magma Plate or for 2 Magma Plates on a crafting table.

The Molten Chest is placed like a normal chest, but to break it you must use a Silk Touch gold or higher pickaxe. If you don't use silk touch, the magma plate will break into magma fragments and the chest will revert to normal. After breaking the Molten chest, you can carry it around like a shulker. When you drop the chest in lava or fire, the magma plate loses durability. Eventually the plate will break and revert to a normal chest.

a more organized creative inventory should be made

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 11:50 AM PDT

if you look in the creative inventory, stone bricks is in the decorative blocks section.
my idea is, to put like the chiseled bricks (all types of blocks) and cracked bricks (also all types of blocks) in the decorative section. They are purely decorative, and put like the normal bricks, stone bricks, etc, a building bricks section, and with that add a polished stones section, which would include the polished basalt, polished granite, polished diorite, and polished andesite, and add a section that would include the potions, stuff that makes potions and enchanted book. This is my suggestion and i hope you understand it

    Wood Burls

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 11:27 AM PDT

In a 1.13 snapshot, Mojang changed the bark textures to have end and while it was unique, many players felt these textures defeated the purpose of bark and it was rolled back. However, they can be added alongside bark as . . . wood burls. These can generate on the side of trees with a 5% chance or be crafted with 4 bark blocks.

New illager and jungle update ideas

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 12:23 PM PDT

Now you're probably thinking that these ideas [Blow dart post, and My Spear post] are cool and all but would be feel kind of weird if they were just squeezed into a random update. I think these ideas would all fit in a jungle update.

Picture it, jungle villages suspended in trees, lush jungle wildlife with greenery and poison dart frogs that can be an easy way to get poison sacs, and an updated jungle temple with brand new guardians of it. I think the guardians of the jungle temple should only be found at the jungle temple like how the sea guardians are only found in the ocean monument. When I picture the guardians of the jungle I thought of the short guys called the Kakamora in the Disney film, Moana. They would be cute and small but also ferocious with their Spears and blow darts of harming! Maybe they would terrorize any villagers that wander near their temple.

That sounds pretty similar to how pillagers would act in their outpost. Maybe they could be a very short illager variant: the jungler? I would personally like it more if they were more similar to the coconut heads in Moana, but I understand that there are rules of copyright and welcome any new illager variant. The jungle-er could also wear colorful face paint.

    Blow darts and blow gun

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 12:19 PM PDT

When you craft 3 sugar cane in a diagonal line in the crafting grid, you will get a blowgun. A regular bow takes about 1.2 seconds to fully pull back but the blowgun would only take would only take 1 half of a second. "But that would be overpowered if you can fire arrows that fast", you're probably thinking, well you wouldn't fire arrows out of a blowgun. You would fire darts! You can craft a dart with one iron nugget above a feather. The quick shooting of the blowgun would make it a valuable ranged weapon. But guess what, that's not all! The darts can be tipped just like arrows! I wanted the blowgun to have some of the crossbow's enchantments but I think those are all that crossbows really have going for them. But hey! Now we can play darts with the target block! Here. [ New illager+jungle ideas] is a link where I connect some jungle update ideas I had like this one.

    Better Adventure & Structures

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 06:45 AM PDT

We have so many structures in the game but very few are goods, I want to resolve that. First the old and good pyramid, good is debatable. Let's take advantage of the biome and plis add sandstorms. I don't want to change the structure rarity but the difficulty, oh the difficulty... The pyramids need a little upgrade in his out look but a very big in his inside look, for example better traps, loot and a mini boss. Also the jungle temple need an upgrade, something like a guardian of the temple, new mobs and obviously better loot. And, AND AND!!! And the mob spawner, the most horrible structure in the game, this is only a cube, the spawner need a update in all of the aspects, essentially a better design and form. The first two structures haves a great redesign by the youtuber SystemZee, and the last by a very little and unknown channel called Grian (It's a joke, Grian is one of the biggest Minecraft channel).

A detailed look at what a brewing overhaul could look like, along with a new status effect: Nullification.

    Posted: 22 Jun 2020 03:59 PM PDT

Minecraft's brewing mechanics have huge potential but are currently in a lackluster state.

I've coded a rough mod to show the potential that simply adding a new brewing ingredient could have. Mojang has added soul fire equivalents for torches, campfires, and lanterns I thought it would be best to continue with that theme. That's why I added the soul fire equivalent of glowstone, Soulstone. It does not spawn naturally and must be crafted with 2 glowstone and 2 soul soil.

Now you may be saying, that's cool and all but what does this have to do with brewing? Well, when you break the Soulstone block it drops Soulstone dust. This Soulstone dust can be used as a new brewing recipe to create the Soul Potion. Much like an Awkward Potion the Soul Potion does not have any status effects of its own, instead it is used as a basis for a new branch of brewing.

This new potion allows for the creation of potions with status effects already in the game. Such as hunger and levitation. I thought about adding blindness but decided that it was too OP.

The Soul Potion also adds another new status effect to the mix, Nullification. This potion uses a base Soul Potion and Bone meal.

When a living entity has the Nullification status effect they will be unable to be afflicted with any other status effects. This opens up a world of new PvP and PvE mechanics.

Unlike a bucket of milk, the nullfication potion can be turned into arrows, splash potions, and lingering potions. This allows it to instantly effect the player without a drinking animation.

Also unlike milk the Nullification effect lasts for an amount of time, during which the player can not utilized potions.

Imagine a player uses a strength potion, you could shoot them with an arrow of Nullification to clear their status effects. Unless they have a bucket of milk, you have effectively rendered their potions useless, but not on you. They must now go on the offensive if they want to continue using potion PvP. The Nullification effect serves as both a curse and a blessing. On one hand, instant damage doesn't work on you, but on the other hand instant healing doesn't work either.

Before you go into an End City and have to deal with the annoying shulkers, drink a potion of nullification! Before you fight withers in the nether, drink a potion of nullfication!

    The use cases are endless.

The mod and changes are merely meant as a demo, I'm sure that Mojang could add interesting status effects as well as way more than I did just to show off the concept.
