When a village is officially 'dead', its bell should crack. Posted: 23 Jun 2020 03:08 PM PDT It's always a sad affair when a village has been discovered already empty, or when everyone's been turned into zombies, or when everyone in the village has been killed by raiders. Whatever the cause, it's time to 'retire' the village by taking down its bell, not unlike lowering the flag in disgrace or flying it at half mast as a sign of mourning. A cracked bell would be the final sign that it's game over at least for this town. A cracked bell should be allowed to be melted down for a gold nugget (or ingot)... A cracked bell could be taken down and moved to a monument built by a player to memorialize the dearly departed... It could be a trophy that a Pillager Captain takes back to their Outpost (or whatever), and you get experience for retrieving the cracked bell from their Outpost chest. (Or more experience for killing the Captain and looting the cracked bell while he still has it). Perhaps a cracked bell could be traded to a master toolsmith to get a gold helmet in return, at the cost of an emerald. [link] [comments] |
Pulling a bow back with no arrow Posted: 23 Jun 2020 09:47 AM PDT This would be good for fakeouts as well as role play. You can do it in real life, why not Minecraft? [link] [comments] |
Annual Painting Contest With Winning Portrait Added Ingame Posted: 22 Jun 2020 11:51 PM PDT Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this has been thought of and shared already, but what if Mojang held an annual painting contest, and everyone could participate and add their own paintings, and the winner of the contest could get their portrait added to the game. The following rules would apply:
Thank you! Edit: Hello! Some of the comments suggested that I add my idea to the Minecraft suggestions website, so here is the link to that post: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/360069738411-Annual-Painting-Contest-With-Winning-Portrait-Added-Ingame feel free to vote for it :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 11:34 AM PDT Netherite Horse Armor will give your horse full protection like it's respective diamond counterpart, but offers nockback resistance similar to players' netherite armor. Can be found in Bastion loot chests. [link] [comments] |
Add subterranean waters to caves Posted: 23 Jun 2020 03:19 PM PDT Having underground lakes and rivers in caves would be really nice to have as they would spice up the cave exploring. Maybe make drowned spawn there too. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 03:49 PM PDT This is a really small nitpick but it's weird that they don't match. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:41 PM PDT Having horizontal chains would be amazing, an added detail for builds to use that isn't fences, iron bars or End Rods [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:14 AM PDT How cool would it be to add penguins to Minecraft? They can live in the ice biomes and you can breed them with fish to get them to make baby penguins. The penguins could be a passive mob and swim around the water and do tricks like turning 360 degrees around themselves. In real life, penguins live on the south pole and polar bears live on the north pole, I personally think it would be best if the polar bears didn't eat the penguins. But I would love to see swimming penguins in my Minecraft world. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
A Jungle Update (This took like 2 hours to write up :P) Posted: 23 Jun 2020 08:02 AM PDT This update would be meant to add some cool new features to minecrafts jungles as they do not have nearly enough wildlife compare to our normal jungles today. This update would bring loads of new features, including; new mobs, new plants and a new biome, +loads more features. First with the new mobs: - Mosquitos:
- Poison Dart Frogs (I am well aware they are an endangered species so they will be more usefull alive than dead)
- Gorillas
- Your suggestion 1 (I think 5 new mobs would be a good number for the jungle please come up with ideas in the comments) (preferably hostile) - Your suggestion 2 (I think 5 new mobs would be a good number for the jungle please come up with ideas in the comments) (preferably aquatic) Next with the new plants: - Banana trees and bananas
- Corpse Flower
- Mangrove (I am aware this has been suggested many times)
- Mangoes
- Your suggestion (I think 5 new plants would be a good number for the jungle please come up with ideas in the comments) New biome: - Mangrove forest
- If you do have any ideas for new jungle biomes leave them in the comments I will try to read them all!!! Thanks for reading!!! Any other jungles suggestions are welcome perhaps an upgrade to the jungle temple would be good. [link] [comments] |
Warp-ing Forest? (Name is w.i.p.) Posted: 23 Jun 2020 12:47 PM PDT Ok, so I get that the nether update literally just dropped, but I had an idea that I thought was worth sharing. The Warped forest is, as its name says, is a Warped version of the crimson forest. My idea is a forest that has both Warped fungi 'trees' and crimson 'trees' along with their respective nylium growing in the same area. Occasionally there will be 'warping' trees that have mixed crimson and warped blocks, showing the crimson forest being warped over time. If you wanted to go further, perhaps a new half warped 'tree' with new wood could be added, but that may be overkill. The basic idea is now that there are major biomes in the nether, over time more minor biomes could be added, compared to the overworld forest -> Hilly forest or Flower forest. [link] [comments] |
When a pig is struck by lightning, it turns into the original zombie pigman Posted: 23 Jun 2020 04:27 PM PDT Many people have expressed the idea of having the original zombie pigmen be brought back when you nametag a zombified piglin. In my opinion that's much too easy, and doesnt make much sense. Having pigs turn into zombifie piglins when struck is strange to me as well, since the lightning strike has nothing to do with the nether realm. But simply having them mutate into a humanoid version of themself after being struck would be a cool easger egg for new players, a nice form of nostalgia for veterans. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 03:29 PM PDT Curse of Vanishing would need to be allowed to attach to any item in the game, though it would still only generate naturally in chest loot, on items obtained from fishing, or in trades involving enchanted books. The idea is that the Curse threatens to take over everything you have like it's a virus. Anything that comes from a Vanishing item is also Vanishing (though the original Curse doesn't go away on the item you obtained first). Examples: If your axe has the Curse of Vanishing, then any wood you get from a tree that you chop down the axe becomes Vanishing (and the axe is still Cursed)... A Crafting Table made from that wood becomes Vanishing (and the axe and the wood is still cursed)... Anything made on that table gains the Curse of Vanishing... and on it goes. This wouldn't apply to anything killed by the Cursed item, because then you'd see PVP be dominated by Vanishing weapons. If you have a pick that has the Curse of Vanishing, and you mine stone with it, that stone is now Vanishing... If you make a Furnace with Vanishing Stone, the Furnace becomes Vanishing and anything smelted or cooked in that Furnace also becomes Vanishing... Right now, Curse of Vanishing is by nature self-defeating. But these changes would make the Curse really insidious and difficult to get rid of if you recklessly grab everything not nailed down in a treasure chest. [link] [comments] |
Crying obsidian should be craftable using obsidian and ghast tears Posted: 23 Jun 2020 04:12 PM PDT |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 06:20 AM PDT It works just like a boat, but your crafting menu is 3x3 when you sit in it. And when you are standing on land you can crouch to open the crafting table. [link] [comments] |
Advancement for getting enderpearls Posted: 23 Jun 2020 10:11 AM PDT I'm not one to add pointless advancements to the game, but c'mon, Mojang, getting enderpearls is a crucial step to beating the game! It's just as important as getting blaze rods, which have their own advancement, into fire, so getting enderpearls should have one too. I'm surprised it's not in the game yet! As for a name, I'm not really sure, I'll leave name suggestions from the comments below here, and if I think of one myself I might use it. Posted: 23 Jun 2020 03:20 PM PDT In the book Dante Inferno, the 12 Layers of Hell are a concept that is explored, where each layer is more challenging. This could be applied to the End, having twelve stages each with a more difficult challenge to complete, eventually getting to the Ender Dragon fight, which could be more difficult. After, you then get access to the far end. [link] [comments] |
Endermen have more than one eye color Posted: 23 Jun 2020 07:44 AM PDT Rather small suggestion, but I think it'd fit in. I'd specifically give them yellow and blue eyes, since they're already black and have magenta eyes. Yellow is already part of the End's color pallet, so I think a full on CMYK motif would fit well. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Jun 2020 08:14 PM PDT The title explains it, but there should be a option in the settings that adjusts the colors for colorblind people playing the game, so they can see colors they wouldn't be able to see before. Because all lives matter. Colorblind people matter too. And so do blacks. Edit: Oh okay, I just left up this post for like 15 hours and it already has 100 upvotes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 01:12 PM PDT Make golams that can have abilitys depending on their element for example a lava/magma/fire golam would be summoned useing magma blocks instead of iron blocks and would set fire to it enemys. Make the golams(except iron golams) hostile to players if they naturally spawn and act like iron golams if they are summoned. Make a mob that could summon these in self defence. [link] [comments] |
Make dispensers put music discs into jukeboxes Posted: 23 Jun 2020 02:50 PM PDT I was messing around with redstone, and I noticed that when you use a dispenser by a jukebox, it just sends the music disc off to the side, instead of playing the song. I also think the same should be for hoppers, so people can automate the jukeboxes. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 05:15 PM PDT I know this one is kind of weird and doesn't make much sense, but I think it'd be super cool if soul torches behaved differently from regular torches and could float in the air if the block beneath them was removed. This would make them seem more magical and allow us to make really cool "floating candle" decorations. Edit: and also soul lanterns. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 03:32 PM PDT Maybe you could kill bats for them to drop an item, maybe something that can be crafted into leather (just like rabbit hide) or maybe some part of it that could be used to make blindness potions. You could also give it negative effect, mainly by adding the functionaliy of them biting the player (and maybe other mobs). The effects given could range from hunger, poison or wither to just some hearts of damage. However, if this were the case, their spawn rate should be wildly decreased, as they spawn like crazy in caves. If you have any ideas or criticism, please leave them in the comments! Posted: 23 Jun 2020 11:06 AM PDT 1/8 block slabs for all stone/ clay/ brick like blocks. They can only be placed on a flat surface, like redstone, and break when the block under is removed. Crafting is 3 blocks in a row to make 16 pavers of that block. Or use 1 block in stonecutter to make 8 pavers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Jun 2020 05:41 AM PDT With the release of the Nether Update we have had the warped wart block released as well. However besides making up the trees in the nether, it doesn't seem to have any other use. My suggestion is to make the warped wart block drop warped warts which when brewed into a water bottle would create something similar to an awkward potion, but with the capability to brew all of the negatively affecting potions which would make the fermented spider eye not as necessary for the brewing in game.
