Adding a pillow, being a slab-like bulilding block, to act as feather storage, fall damage protection and in building of (yes darling) SLEEPING BAGS. Also, pillow fights!

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:52 AM PDT

This sugesstion is pretty self explanatory, but to cover up all info wikipedia style...

White block with pillow texture that covers a space of a slab. Non opaque, stackable to 64 items, flammable, and low blast resistance. Obtaining:

    a) by crafting, when full crafting table grid filled with feathes creates one pillow

    b) as a high rarity non-treasure chest loot

    Usage:

    a) when a player steps on it, it behaves more like snow layers/cobweb so the feet sink into it, though without slowing movement. It could only stop sprinting, much like vines.

    b) since players feet sink into the block, it absorbs like 80% of any fall damage, but does not make you bounce like slime, doesn't slows movement like cobweb nor inflicts damage like berries.

    c) can be used as feather storing item, allowing pillow to be crafted back into 9 fearhers

    d) when hitting mobs/players while holding pillow one pushes said entities away without dealing damage, like snowballs, but melee. (Maybe, even though it's placable, single block could be enchanted with knockback via anvil making it non placable item, with different sprite) Perfect for pillow fights!

    e) finally something that's been craved a lot - BUILDING sleeping bags within 1x3 space with pillow block and 2 carpets. On order for sleeping bag structures to work the middle carpet should be close to campfire, with one block space between them. One campfire then, could be surrounded by four functioning sleeping bags. The result of such sleeping bag (maybe sleeping mat would be more acurate) would be skipping night without setting spawn. Having to fill 3 inventory slots (to carry campfire, pillow and carpets) in order to skip night like that instead of just bed, would be a balancing trade off, and fits into "no furniture" game dev philosophy.

It's quite a read, I hope the idea is original enough and block functionality would make it considerable. To all who made it this far, what ya' think?

Dogs should be given multiple new textures like the cats

If given bone meal instead of a normal bone they could be given one texture out of a random 6 just like tamed ocelots, with the normal bone giving them the default.

Armor stands in java have arms by default. Armor stands in java can be posed as well. Basically I'm asking for the same functionality as bedrock players get.

Change villager text from "{profession} - {level}" to "{level} {profession}" in the Trading GUI

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 07:52 AM PDT

Armorer - Master >> Master Armorer

Cleric - Master >> Master Cleric

Fisherman - Novice >> Novice Fisherman

With the release of 19w11a, the trading GUI which is currently work in progress, now shows the villager profession and their level. I believe that the notation for showing it is unorganized, so my suggestion would be changing the level as some sort of prefix to the profession instead of a suffix. I know it's an incredibly small thing, but I hope they change this in the next snapshot.

Azure Bluets, Oxeye Daisies and White Tulips should be crafted into White Dye instead of Light Gray Dye

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 03:45 PM PDT

With White Dye coming in 1.14, it doesn't make sense that the three existing white flowers are still crafted into Light Gray Dye.

Add dust storms into desert biomes.

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 08:40 AM PDT

I think this would be a great way of giving the player a feeling of adventure when traveling through a dust storm. It will also make the game almost more realistic. Since we already have snow, rain, and thunder storms, why not add a dust storm as well?

    Bamboo planks

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 09:25 AM PDT

Since they're already adding bamboo, I think it would be interesting to see some bamboo planks be added. It would behave just like normal wood planks but with a faded lime green texture, maybe even looking different from wood entirely.

    Naming Areas

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 01:17 PM PDT

I think the ability to name an area on a map would be cool. Whoever names the area first is the only one that can change the name. The crafting recipe would be any map, black ink/ink sac, and a feather. Making a new map of the same area includes whatever the first name of the area is on it. There can be as many names on a map, but names cannot overlap and are spread out, as long as a player uses the crafting recipe each time they make a new name.

    Improve Bookshelves

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 07:17 AM PDT

Change bookshelves to a container that can hold enchanted books, written books and book & quill. This would add an extra use to books and allow people to create functional libraries. This can be similar to the Pattern Chest from Tinkerer's Construct.

The only downside I see as of far, how to let the player know that the bookshelf is empty or full without making it useless as a base item. My idea is to change the recipe to not include books in the original recipe (3 planks top row, 3 bottom row), and then add 3 books after you've placed the bookshelf to affect the enchantment table.

Please leave your feedback and impressions in the comments.

Add the ability to place regular potions on blocks so if someone wants to decorate their home, lab, etc. It would be a good way of storing items as well.

Make single blocks of andesite generate in randomly with regular stone to have a better look for large areas of naturally generated stone

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 10:16 AM PDT

It makes a lot of places with naturally generated stone look a lot better. Andesite already generates in veins like ores but i think being mixes in better with the stone might give it a good aesthetic look.

    New Nether Mob: The Gulper

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:17 AM PDT

gulpers would look similar to phantoms except red, larger and with two large pincers

Gulpers would fly around like ghasts after they've seen you they'll swoop down and pick you up carrying you away with their pincers they'll damage slowly but surely the only way it to kill or damage them enough for them to drop you they won't have a lot of health but you have to be careful as they can drop into lava as they swoop down you can hit them to make them flee.

Since TNT has a 100% mining rate now, how about Enchanted TNT?

    Posted: 16 Mar 2019 07:27 PM PDT

This might seem like a joke, and it was to me before I started thinking about it for too long.

Enchanted TNT would be able to use 5 enchantments; 2 old ones, and three new ones

First, lets get the obvious Silk Touch and Fortune Enchants out of the way. Whatever you blow up with Silk Touch drops the actual block of course, and fortune would be good to mine with. Normal levels, Silk Touch I and Fortune III. They can't be put on the same piece of TNT, obviously.

    New Enchants

    Nitro I, II, III

Increase the blast radius of the piece of TNT by 10% per level

    Nitro I - 10% increase

    Nitro II - 20% increase

    Nitro III - 30% increase

Obviously the effectiveness of the TNT is subject to change by the block it's blowing up. Still could be useful though, for general mining.

    Absorbing

Will clear away any and all liquids (even lava!) within it's blast radius.

No enchantment levels or tiers to this one, but it will stack it's effects with Nitro.

    Napalm

A treasure enchantment, cannot be combined with any other TNT enchantment (even Silk Touch/Fortune)

A dangerous item, will place lava source blocks somewhat sparingly around the TNT blast radius. It's meant to be destructive fun and doesn't really have a mining use, but it sure would look cool haha.

    Balancing:

    • You can only enchant 16 pieces of TNT at a time

    • Napalm will not stack with any other enchantments

    • TNT will take longer to detonate depending on the level of Nitro enchantment it has

Please leave any critiques or questions in the replies, thank you for reading :)

    More uneven paintings

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 02:20 AM PDT

What do I mean with this? Well, all paintings (apart from the1x1 and 2x1) at this moment in time have a horizontal length of an even number, 2 and 4 blocks, But I think we should also get some uneven lengths: 3 and 5 blocks, so that people with an uneven amount of blocks as a wall, could get some paintings to bring more colour to their build. Now if they want to place one, the painting is off-centre.

Some foods need a buff and/or better use!

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:21 AM PDT

While new food types in Minecraft are always a welcome change, I think some foods need a revamp first before new ones appear.

    1) Beets - Outside of maybe a more efficient source of red dye, beets aren't really useful. Beet soup is a mediocre source of food at it's best.

that's why adding golden beets would be a good solution. Saturation wise it's below the golden carrot but it gives the player the "immunity" effect. Which makes the player immune to poison, Levitation and the hunger effct for 3 minutes.

2)Cocoa beans - Outside of brown dye, the cocoa beans are pretty much useless. Don't even get me started on the cookies.

A good solution would be chocolate milk (sugar, milk bucket and cocoa beans) This heals status effect like normal milk, but on top of that it heals 3 hearts.

    3) Eggs - While there is much potential food-wise with eggs, it only serves as an ingredient for cake.

A good solution would be a fried egg or an omelette (egg and milk bucket)

World names after different continents or islands should generate a Minecraft counterpart to that continent regardless of seed or not.

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 05:30 AM PDT

It would look cool, and Antarctica would offer a very hard way to survive, cause its an Ice/Snow biome. Antarctica is two biomes in one, desert and tundra.

For example, you could type in Antarctica and then generate the world and boom! Spawn in a random part of the continent Antarctica in the world.

This could change survival quite a bit.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that Antarctica and the Arctic would need to be coded so that the weather is never snowing. And the daylight cycle would have to be coded so in these areas, you get 6 days of constant light, even at times when its normally night, and another 6 days of constant darkness, where the sun never rises. The 6 days of darkness will increase survival difficulty dramatically, even on Easy mode since mobs spawn at light levels of below 7. All other continents and islands should have regular daylight cycle, except sub-Arctic and sub-Antarctic islands.

Make blank paintings that players can paint on

    Posted: 17 Mar 2019 11:43 AM PDT

I feel like this would be a great addition, and would add new variety to minecraft builds that use it, as well as being a good creative thing for anyone who just wants to make their own paintings. The Default premade paintings would still be an option but the custom paintings would be a great addition and the gui would be a simplistic program where you can basically just make pixel art. These paintings could be placed on walls or looked at in hand like a map

    New Block: Bird's Nest

    Posted: 16 Mar 2019 08:28 PM PDT

First of all, Mojang would have to either allow Parrots to spawn in any biome that has trees, or create a new bird mob that can.

The 'birds' would spawn near a 'bird's nest' block on the top of a tree's leaves.

They could contain a few small eggs.

They would either eventually hatch into more birds, or they'd remain the same for decorative purposes.

It might be nice if they were some kind of 'song bird', that chirped and sang, which might make the environment more vibrant and pleasant if you were to build near them.

    Just a thought. :)

    Bells on Cows

    Posted: 16 Mar 2019 09:06 PM PDT

With the addition of Bells in the new 1.14 Village and Pillage Update, I thought another interesting use for the Bell would be being able to put them on Cows. This could be to "domesticate" or "tame" them. I'm still not sure on all of the specifics and functions it would provide but seemed like a valid use. What do you think? Also, I found a video that someone thought of the same thing and used commands to make. Skip to 0:53. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n1fC0B1QrmU
