    Darkstone, the reversed equivalent of Glowstone

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 07:00 AM PST

    This block spawns in dungeons, caves, the Nether, and most frequently the End. The block as its name suggests, inverses light emitting from it. This means it obviously is black, and is light level 0, even in full daylight, meaning it will produce darkness. Look at a negative coloured photo, this is what Darkstone is, it reverses colour, the exact opposite of Glowstone (positive coloured light). Effects:

    Makes an area darker. Can be used to make something look dark in bright light. Does not accelerate mob spawning, nor influence mob spawning.

    It is purely for aesthetics and another dimension. Does not affect anything.

    However, building it in a portal frame like a Nether portal will allow you to light it, and travel to another dimension - the Reversed World, where hostiles are friendly, and friendlies are hostile, reverses lots of the game mechanics to add a twist on survival. Light levels are reversed there too!

    Undead mobs will still burn in daylight, even when next to this block.

    This block produces a bubble column, but its different, in which the bubbles will actually go out of the block in the direction you placed it, example, facing left will produce a column of bubbles that pushes you to the right. Endermen drop 0-2 Darkstone upon death, as well as their usual item, Ender Pearl, which is unaffected.

    Pillagers will prioritize the highest “ranked” villager

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 01:02 PM PST

    Ranks are the different materials on the villager's belts as you trade more with them. They'd still attack the closest one, but if a maxed out villager and a normal one are roughly in the same range, the maxed out one will be prioritized.

    when a average animal like a cow or horse spawn wouldn't it be cool if there was a small chance of it spawning albino also if you breed 2 albinos together there's a higher chance that it would spawn as an albino

    Gloomstone: weakened version of glowstone

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 12:06 PM PST

    Introduction

    Glowstone is a brittle rock found in the Nether dimension with luminous characteristics. What causes its glow?

    We can´t be sure, but it must be some kind of radioactivity or chemical reaction, releasing energy as light.

    This, however, cannot last forever and, after hundreds of thousands of years, its glow has diminished greatly.

    At this point the stone is no longer called glowstone, but has a more appropriate name of gloomstone.

    Appearance

    Gloomstone has a texture similar to glowstone but reddish-black instead of yellow.

    (Textures coming soon, sorry for the waiting)

    Generation

    Gloomstone is generated in the Nether in a similar configuration to glowstone, but rarer and possibly only at certain y-levels.

    Properties

    • Transparent block;
    • Blast resistance slightly higher than glowstone;
    • Emits a light level of 3 (open to discussion);
    • Drops 0-1 glowstone dust;
    • The rest is the same as glowstone.

    Make cobblestone and stone smelt able in blast furnace.

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 11:26 AM PST

    I spend alot of time early game smelting cobblestone. I know I could use a silk touch but I'd rather be able to use the blast furnace. You can smelt ores covered in stone. Most people dont smelt redstone or coal ores but they at least have the option with the blast furnace.

    Gold Panning In Mesa Biomes

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 02:47 PM PST

    • How: Gold panning would require one bucket and a stream of sideways flowing water(the source block must be at the same y axis level as the flowing water) in a mesa biome. The player would right click on flowing water and a 1/25 chance would be the chance of finding one gold nugget. The bucket would collect no water, but drop a gold nugget if the chance is right. If more nuggets are found, then the chance of gold being underneath the ground within thirty blocks. This would not be able to be done infinitely as gold would lose it's value. Only 5-8 nuggets would be able to be found within an area. If no gold ore is in the area, no nuggets would drop.
    • Why: Another method of finding gold ore in a mesa biome.
    • Changes: Gold ore would spawn closer to the surface and in larger veins in mesa biomes.

    Tame-able and ride-able spiders!

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 07:50 AM PST

    skellys can ride them so why can't we??

    my personal opinion on how this would work:

    -possibly something dropped by an ender mite (a delicacy to spiders)needed to tame spider, then a saddle required to ride

    -possibly also a turtle egg could be used to tame (giving an evil twist to the art of taming a spider, maybe not all players wish to eradicate the mobs and illagers?)

    -when riding the spider will not have the speed of a horse, but instead will make a great caving companion, can jump great distances, climb walls

    -when riding a spider the player can shoot a line of web and use this to traverse caves, similar to the fishing rod but in reverse, shooting the player over to the block they latch to.

    -line of web could also be used to descend drops slowly and safely when atteched to a roof above

    -web could also make animals,players, and mobs "stuck" for a period of time

    I've always thought this should be a thing ever since i noticed spiders were neutral during the day, i've always wanted a spider farm

    thanks for reading!

    Make TGA Files Consistent

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 09:33 AM PST

    I've spent multiple hours making textures for the Windows 10 Edition on Minecraft, and I've only run into issues when .TGA files pop up.

    They don't all work the same and there is no documentation on the official way to make textures for them, still I have gotten ~94% of them to work after multiple hours reverse engineering the original creation process for each one.

    All I'm asking here is that you make the TGA files consistant throughout the game, take them away completely, or make an official guide on how to work with them.

    Minecraft castle defence!

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 02:23 PM PST

    Hello dear reader,

    So i was watching a video on Youtube from this guy transforming villages in the snapshots with pillager raids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGXPI484e74

    And the thought: "Man we're probably going to witness a lot more village --> castle transformations done to villages due to the pillage raids and the incentive that comes with them to build castles around villages to preserve them!" passed my mind.

    I scrolled down a bit in the comments and passed along this:

    "No offense because I love the style of the wall but I like building defense walls more thicker so it will be harder for tnt. But I love how you built it, good texture"

    "fWhip6: Good thing pillagers can't use TNT haha "

    And then i got an idea, i thought holy kemoly, but WHAT IF they could though!?

    Then i started thinking about it and i realised that Minecraft should do more with this pillage idea and expand it into a sort of castle defence possibility. Think about catapults sieging villages in a far stage of a raid (so in very late waves), raiders being able to place tnt to enter your castle/village, raiders being able to put out defensive lava you laid down around the village castle you've built (ok probably stretching it here), or the illagerbeast being able to tear down walls/blocks at some point after several waves. Think about being able to make the raids possibly even harder with this for yourself if you'd like to in some way. The ability/potential to expand this into something epic is there.

    People love building castles, the upcoming raids in the next update just gave more incentive to build them (around/in villages), and this castle defence idea would raise the incentive even higher and would give these castles actual usage! I know a lot of people have always loved the idea of being able to actually use their castles somehow in an epic fight (which so far, the occasions to do that, have been quite rare for most people) and expanding on these raids could provide a reason for just that. Minecraft has always been kinda medieval themed (and has a kink for castle builds) so i don't think this idea is far fetched for this game at all. Lastly it would also be a good gateway for the (many times requested) villager guards and introduce them to the game as they could be assigned to towers e.g. and would be a nice addition to the heightened raid threat in general.

    Additional ideas: opposing pillager castle? which you can raid back? With villagers at your side helping you?? I know i'm going a bit crazy here, but i just want you to think about the potential here people. Cause it's definitely there, and i want you to see it too.

    Conclusion: expand the pillager raids into something bigger to create something epic!

    Let me all know what you think of it and possibly discuss in what direction we could go with this.

    < AIR CONDUITS >

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 02:24 PM PST

    <DISCLAIMER>

    THIS IS NOT MY IDEA, I AM LEAVING IT HERE IN HOPES THE DEVS WILL SEE IT SOMEDAY!

    All credits to this idea belongs to Grian.

    <Grian's Video>

    (love you grian :>)

    <What on God's green Earth is an Air conduit???>

    Well, essentially, the Air Conduit would be a new item that you get super late game, it is similar to the Conduit in many ways, but also the exact opposite, read more to find out what I mean ;)

    <Regular Conduit Info>

    The Conduit is crafted from a Heart of The Sea and eight Nautilus shells. The shells are to surround the edges and corners of your 3x3 crafting grid while the Heart of The Sea goes into the center.

    When the conduit is placed in a contained minimal 3x3x3 cube of water [all source blocks], with a minimum of 16 prismarine blocks surrounding the conduit in a ring formation, you get the Conduit Power. But, this is increaseable as well depending on the number of prismarine blocks used. Rings can be placed vertically and horizontally.

    This status effect allows you to mine faster, see better and removes all need for oxygen in the underwater range. That range is dependent on the number of prismarine blocks that surround your conduit.

    <For more info click here>

    <What is an Air Conduit?>

    In Grian's video, the Air Conduit is explained as a conduit for the air, that allows you to 'swim' in the air. It is supposed to help you build things upwards but more on that in a bit, and some tweaks I had.

    <How is this item obtainable?>

    Well considering the item is theoretically super OP, it need to be super late game. You would need to venture out and find an End city and kill a butt tone of Shulkers. In addition to just getting Shulker Shells you should also be able to get some form of orb, or maybe even the shulker head. This item should not be found in loot chests and only obtainable as a rare drop from a Shulker. Next, with the said drop, you will need Shulker Shells, which you should have lots of by now. Next, you're going to act as if you're crafting a Shulker Box, two shells one top, one bottom with a space in between on the crafting grid. Now, instead of placing a chest, you'll put the rare loot from the Shulker, the head or orb or whatever. This will get you an 'Air Conduit'.

    <How to set up and Air Conduit.>

    In order to set up your brand new Air Conduit, you'll need, well, your Air Conduit and 48 PurPur Blocks, in Grian's video he suggests Glowstone, but I think this is more fitting. It could also work with End Stone or End Stone Bricks, which could fit in with more builds. You'll go about setting up your Air Conduit as you normally would, the catch is, you need to keep it away from water, or, it will not function. You'll place your rings as you normally would, in the air at least one block off the ground. I also think that the status effect range should be reduced by 25% per ring.

    For example if you had the basic 16 block ring around your Air Conduit, instead of getting 31 blocks of range, you will only get 27 blocks of range. Or, if you happen to have a full powered Air Conduit, instead of getting 96 blocks of range, you only get 75 because 25% of 96 is 24 and 96 - 24 = 75.

    <The Air Conduit's abilities.>

    Now that your conduit is set up and powered you'll get a new set of perks, Air Conduit Powers. I cannot think of a better name for this new status effect but y'know if this idea makes it to the game somehow Mojang can figure it out. ANYWAY, your Air Conduit is set up, and the powers are working. But what are the powers?

    • Air Swimming

    Air swimming is exactly what it sounds like. You are swimming in the air as you would underwater, the catch is you're swimming at a slower speed, walking speed to be precise and you cannot speed up unless you have a Swiftness Potion applied. Now the perk, aside from being able to swim in midair, is you can do it every which way, up, down, left or right, diagonal, everything. You can only swim in the Air Conduit's block radius. This power should also be able to be toggled. I think that if you crouch in the Conduit's block range, you should keep your walking speed, but also stay stuck to the ground. Or maybe a new enchantment for your boots could solve this problem. Said enchantment could be found only in loot chests in End Cities. This should be obtainable with a minimum of one ring.

    • Auto Kill Phantoms

    Similarly to how a Conduit kills nearby Drowned, an Air Conduit should be able to kill off Phantoms, but only when the Air Conduit's power is in range. If you are just one block out of that 75 block range, a Phantom should be able to swoop down and attack you, even from inside the Air Conduit's range. All that matters is that you, the player are inside the range. This should be obtainable with a minimum of two rings.

    This also has a slight problem, and that is that this could make Phantom Membranes farmable. I think of it as a problem because Phantom Membrane's are intended to be a rare item, and farming them will remove this feature almost completely. If I do recall they repair your Elytra. To remove this 'problem', Phantom's should not be able to drop Membranes within the Air Conduit's range. This could also be thought of as a reward for obtaining an Air Conduit, because you came all this way for such an end game and OP item. But you decide, is it a pro or con?

    • Items Float

    If you're using this to build, as I imagine lots of players would, you'd probably need to break blocks, but, item entities often times, no, always, are effected by gravity. That is why, if an item is dropped or thrown out of the hotbar or inventory while you're in the air from your Air Conduit, it should float a few blocks away from the player or where it was mined from. When you throw an item onto ice, it slides and eventually stops about 5 - 7 blocks away from you. If you throw an item in the air inside of the Air Conduit range, it should have the same effect. Note that if you're close enough to the border of the Air Conduit's range, the item can drop out.

    Now, if you MINE a block that is placed, the item counter part should stay in one place as it has no momentum. This should only be obtainable with all 3 rings.

    • Other Small Useless Additions
    • <These are not legit suggestions just other small ideas that came to mind>

    Gravity blocks are no longer gravity blocks. Sand, Gravel, Anvils will no longer fall.

    Source blocks will not spread downwards. If you place a block of water against something the water will not flow downwards.

    Jump Boost is rendered useless inside the Air Conduit's power.

    Hunger depletes faster when in the air. (I actually quite like this one)

    All mobs should float too

    yOu'Ll fLOAt tOo

    <What can the Air Conduit be used for?>

    Lots of things. The skies is the limit. But... to name a few.

    • Building dope towers.
    • Building dope mob grinders in the sky.
    • A really cool oversized elevator for you and your loot.
    • A whole new world of obstacle courses where you utilize the bottom of blocks for getting around.
    • A zero gravity base.
    • An interesting PVP arena.

    I'm sorry I couldn't provide photos as I have no skill modding or even doing simple photo edits! I tried to make this post as high quality as possible and I hope everything was clearly understood <3

    I know this idea is extremely far fetched, and I dunno how on Earth Mojang would pull it off but eh figured I get feedback anyway.

    As I have already mentioned the idea belongs to Grian! I have taken that idea and polished it! No credit goes to me, this is a suggestion subreddit, not an idea subreddit. Thank you so much for reading!

    Lhama meat and shearing.

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 10:19 AM PST

    We all know the Lhamas right? So, if you kill them, they only drop leather.

    But, in real life, people use them to harvest wool and meat. So what about a option to shear the Lhamas?

    And if you kill them, they could drop Lhama meat, when cooked it would hestore 8 hunger points.

    The idea is simple, an small feature, but im sure it would be a nice fit to the game.

    Ender orb useful for redstone and security!

    Posted: 05 Mar 2019 11:21 PM PST

    Crafting: Crafted with an eye of ended above redstone dust then surrounded by 7 quartz in the remaining crafting slots. This conduit sized block can be placed on all 6 sides of blocks.

    Use: It has the ability to detect approaching entities from 60 blocks away which upon detection will glow a light level brighter for every 6 blocks the entity approaches, it will also give off a redstone signal that increases or decreases in strength depending on how far away the entity is.

    Conclusion: In my opinion this block would be useful for security systems, redstone devices or just as decoration.

    new mob...

    Posted: 06 Mar 2019 11:35 AM PST

    basically it is a undead pirate mob that resembles a normal skeleton but it is dressed in tattered pirate looking clothes (so you can still see the bones some what under the clothing) it can spawn naturally in shipwrecks and on the ocean floor OR you could push a normal skeleton into water and drown it like a zombie and it becomes a inhabitant of davy jones locker. the undead pirate always spawns with a stone sword or rarely a axe (almost never with a enchantment) and cant swim it only walks on the bottom of the sea (they cant swim because skeletons cant swim any way and pirates were surprisingly horrible swimmers despite living on the high seas.)

    this would stay consistent with the fact that zombies drown and skeletons cant swim and also this would make skeletons more of a challenge in the sea because when a skeleton is under water it cant shoot its bow and it looks a little weird when a skeleton hits you with a bow as if the are a zombie so it would look a little better if they swap for a mele weapon when under water and this would make for a great adventure feel stumbling across a band of undead pirates ( but usually the pirates are found alone. i cant think of a good name for these undead freinds so lets get a little creative in the coments. what are your thoughts?
