BarrelCraft, hosted in Boston, is a brand new whitelisted 1.13.2 server inspired by communities such as HermitCraft and Mindcrack. For the most part, we are a vanilla server; this means no /sethome, no /tpa, etc. Purely vanilla mechanics encourages people to make the best of the base game, including handmade transportation networks and staying closer together. There are also no block/chest protection plugins, relying on trust to make the game more open. However, we do have CoreProtect as a worst-case-scenario safety measure. The one big difference from Vanilla however, is our customized terrain. Our world has been pregenerated, with a size of roughly 20,000 by 20,000, using the Open Terrain Generator Biome Bundle. This has all been done in advance, meaning you don't have to download anything on your end, you connect using the regular vanilla client as always. Hopefully this new more expansive terrain will allow for more variety in what people create and inspire people to build things they wouldn't have built otherwise. Our gameplay is simple: do anything you like, as long as it's constructive. Absolutely everything is done in survival mode. No matter what you see, no matter how impressive it is, it was done is survival. There are no diamonds for voting, we don't even take donations, and admins can't spawn items. Our only real game changer is teleportation. We have /home, /back, /spawn and /tpa for example. Some people don't like these features, which is understandable, but we find that they help make the world feel more connected. If you plan on playing with friends you can add each other to your friends list using the /friend command. This will allow you to teleport to each other using the /tp command. Our current map was created in 1.13. For the 1.14 update we expanded eastwards, doubling the size of our map to 14,000 by 28,000 blocks. We like to keep our maps for a reasonable amount of time. For reference, our last map we had from March 2016 to July 2018. We are hoping to keep our current map until at least mid 2020. In any case, all old maps are available for download after a reset. We are a greylisted server. This means anyone can join and walk around, but are not able to modify the world until they have been removed from the greylist. To be removed is very simple. You just need to read the rules, type a command and wait for someone to remove you. There is no written application process. I'm getting into building and can be a little quiet, but I love having other people around to reach out to, and would like to find somewhere I can put down roots for the longterm. I'm looking for a small- to medium-sized community server with things like land claiming, warp points, home points, a simple economy system with shops, and more, with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere... and a biome mod. I've found several really great semi-vanilla servers, especially some very cozy communities on tumblr, but I'm really hoping for something just like that with a mod like Biomes o' Plenty to add more crafting/building/location variety. I don't mind if there are some other mods too, but I'm looking to stay close to the semi-vanilla experience (just with more exploration and build variety) rather than have a million mods that do crazy fantasy or sci-fi things. | XMC Season 2 [Vanilla][Modded] {16+}{Whitelist}{Discord} Posted: 30 May 2019 01:57 PM PDT We're opening up applications again! XMC consists of two servers, one of which is modded, with the other being vanilla. Our modded server is running Project Ozone 3. Our vanilla server is running Fabric 1.14.2 with minimal, server-side mods. We use Fabric to create a way to use leads on villagers, and to have a bridge to send our in-game chat to discord and back. We hope for a Dynmap port that is compatible with Fabric to be released some time in the future (We aren't currently using Spigot/Paper, but that may change). EventsOn XMC, we like to run small events such as UHCs, Mini-games, etc., which usually happen on the weekends. Rules
