    Peat

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 07:00 AM PDT

Found in the swamp biome, inside the dirt.

Can be used to cook/smelt stuff, but unlike coal, peat can only cook 4 instead of 8 items.

But harvesting peat will give you a lot of experience, more than coal. 1-3 exp points to be exact, while coal ore only drops 0-2 exp points.

So peat can be found in peat dirt, which is a dirt block with brownish black chunks in it. When you break a peat dirt block, 1-2 peat will be dropped along with some exp as mentioned before. If you wish to aquire a block of peat dirt, you must mine it with a silk touch shovel.

Peat blocks have a brownish black colour, a lot like dark oak and to craft it, you must fill the entire crafting area with peat.

Also, peat blocks should make a gross wet squishy noise when walking on it.

    Honeycomb armour (wall climbing)

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:04 AM PDT

So this would be a new armour type people wouldn't want for protection or durability, but for its special feature. To cut straight to the point, this would let you climb walls.

As you have probably guessed, it is crafted in the usual armour shapes but with honeycomb and one honey bottle somewhere in the grid. I decided to use honeycomb instead of honey because honey doesn't make much sense to hold the shape of armour but mostly because honeycomb currently doesn't have much use. I then thought one honey bottle makes sense to explain why the armour is sticky.

The wall climbing ability would be rather slow (at least without enchantments), at about two vertical blocks every second. The main trade off of this ability is that it has very limited protective abilities and that the wearer needs a full set of the armour to fully climb (less than 4 pieces makes the player only slightly stick to walls noticeably but with no actual mechanical advantage, just to hint to new players at the power of the armour).

The unique enchantments I can think of off the top of my head are Agility (which increases vertical movement speed for every level) and Wall Jump. Wall jump means the player sticks to walls when they run or jump into them for a brief amount of time. The purpose of this is that the player can jump across walls quickly to another point which would make a great addition to parkour.

Edit: I meant this from the start but forgot to write it; you can not climb blocks that do not interact with slime or honey blocks. This includes glazed terracotta and those such blocks. Although I am not sure if it might be a modified list, because well it makes sense that glazed terracotta is too smooth, things like obsidian are not movable due to their weight.

    Better rainstorms and more lightning.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 03:41 PM PDT

Rainstorms will have more effect on crops, but can also pull your crops out of the ground and you lose it. Rainstorms will also be more powerful, with the chance to spawn tornadoes that you can only see in the distance. (FPS) More lightning and rain shows better on windows.

    When Pigs Fly Achievement Change

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 12:14 PM PDT

We have flying in minecraft. Better flying.

To toughen it up for some speedrunners, I think this achievement should be changed accordingly to actual flying in the game.

    >Grant a pig levitation

This is quite a challenge because of the amount of time it takes for you to get to the end cities in the first place, and rather than annoying to complete, it will be more like a Payday 2 Stealth Run. It just takes some steps and is easier the more you prep, as with flying machines, ice boats, and much more.

This achievement heavily rewards preparing in the end, and/or end transportation.

    Keys!

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 02:48 AM PDT

In my opinion, the fact that the locking-feature is only available using commands is a shame.

So how do we make this feature fit the survival experience?

I would say, we need an item that is able to do what commands can; the key.

Crafted using just a couple of gold nuggets it's rather cheap. The keys would lock the chest or door on which it is right clicked using its nbt data, that means that one key with a distinct name (or even enchantment) can lock multiple chests/doors.

A not locked block would get locked when you use the key on it and locked blocks would only open using the right key.

I'd imagine a couple properties that I'm way to lazy to write a coherent text about, so here is a list: - locked blocks can still be destroyed and lose its locked properties when doing so - an Rion ring could be implemented that can be used for multiple things, but in this context just for the key ring - locking something tells you that you locked something in the same way beds tell you that you can't sleep when it's daytime - maybe there could even be a bandit mob that occasionally comes around and steals stuff in unlocked chests, giving value to keys

I hope my idea is comprehensible and logical. I'm open for improving ideas or criticism.

    Gardens and Greenery update ideas

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:16 AM PDT

i think a garden based update would be cool!! ive been thinking of ideas i wanna sketch out when i can :3c feel free to brainstorm with me too!!

i like the idea of greenhouses (maybe a new light block too, which allows plants to grow underground and inside??), theyd spawn nearby/in villages and maybe overgrown/abandoned ones would randomly spawn in roofed forests, sunflower plains, and flower forests

also more flowers, plants, and maybe even herbs!! there could be baking in this update, more recipes, all that cool stuff. and more garden-y type decor blocks like different coloured flower pots

i also like the thought of more mobs like squirrels, birds (finches, robins, crows), mice, skunks, raccoons, opossums, bugs, and other common backyard animals. maybe even a new hostile mob, which i dont have any ideas for rn hmm

other things i think would be cool are villagers having little gardens, bushes, barns/farms spawning near villages, and apple trees

Altering Oceans To Prevent Easy Progression

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 12:01 PM PDT

Once empty, endless seas, Update Aquatic completely revised the oceans, making them more lively and exciting than possibly any other biome. Although, as incredible as this update was, it also had a major effect on the progression of the game. The contents of the ocean have made the game easier than ever, providing players with quick access to powerful tridents, rich, underwater loot caches, an amazing fuel source in kelp, and mechanics that allow players to easily reside beneath the waves, out of danger. This is something that I feel must be addressed in order to ensure that gameplay doesn't become too simple. I've thought up of a few ways in which oceans could be "nerfed," as listed below:

    • Add more variants of mobs to protect loot (Not saying increase spawnrate)
    • Deepen the ocean to prevent easy, early exploration
    • Nerf loot tables of chests and such that spawn closer to shore

If anyone can think of other ways in which this issue can be resolved, be sure to list them below!

You also should be able to set a mob on fire by right-clicking on them with flint and steel.

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 11:37 PM PDT

We can only just light a fire on a solid block and wait for that mob to walk through the fire and then make it burn, but why not make them burn when you right-click on them with flint and steel.

    Swamp rework

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 05:34 AM PDT

Swamps in Minecraft, are represented as those dark, almost magical biomes. Witch houses tend to generate there and lily pads tend to grow there. That said, there isnt really anything to do in swamps and thats a shame, because the game would just need to use whats already in-game to fix this.

    GENERATION

There are three types of swamps that can generate, those can, but don't require to be near themselves, seemingly in the same biome. Similar to how the bamboo forests work.

    1. Forest Swamps - those are simple. They resemble classic forests more than a swamp. Mushrooms and swamp caves tend to spawn there. The cave looks similar to the cave on Dagobah from Episode 5. Caves tend to have spider spawners and be full of cobwebs. Cobwebs can also be found on the surface as well.
    2. Classic Swamps - they tend to generate between the Forest Swamps and Swamp Lakes and are mix of the two. Mushrooms still grow there, and its more of a transition between the two. You can see spiders there, but also frogs, which prevent spiders from entering the lake.
    3. Swamp Lakes - Swamp lake is a big lake - usually in the middle of a swamp. Slimes have made it their home and its also the home to the witch. You can find frogs on the edge of a lake.

    SLIMES and SPIDERS

Slimes should spawn in swamps. They are slimy, as the name states, and they would compliment the idea of a swamp quite well. They would tend to roam around those swamp lakes and to fight them, you would have to get into the nasty water. Given the fact that the water slows you down, it would make the fight quite a challenge.

This would also give the swamps some meaning. As for now, there isn't a lot to gain from the biome. This would give the players a legitimate reason to go there.

As I said, Swamps tend to try being those magic witchy places and this makes the idea go even further. Slimes really don't tend to appear anywhere. Speaking from my experience, I have never ever encountered one in a survival world, not even once. I think that it would be quite fitting for them to be there.

Same goes for spiders, they fit the swamp theme really well.

    WITCH HOUSES

Witches can not go from their houses. I don't know if its just me, but this happens to me all the time. This could be solved by making the witch that spawns in the house 'different'. It isn't be able to despawn, neither leave the house until it sees the player.

The witch house is changed to fit the new village designs as well.

    MUSHROOMS

In real life there are mushrooms in the swamps, they now generate in the Minecraft swamps as well. Even large mushrooms generate in swamps.

    FROGS

The last thing I will touch are the frogs. While swamps haven't win in the biome chooser, I really wish that we've got those at least. So I am gonna pretend that they're coming to the game.

Frogs have a tendency to jump between the lily pads (the can jump for more than 5 blocks) and they run from the player. They drop slime and frog meat. But they have other uses as well. They tend to scare all the bugs in the game, including: spider, cave spider, bees, silverfish and endermites. They tend to be scared by slimes, though they are attracted to water. This is done mostly, so there aren't frog and slimes in the same place. Slimes tend to be more i the center of the swamp lakes and frogs more on its edge, creating an interesting dynamic. They also tend to scare bats (possible redstone use).

Like wolves and ocelots, frogs can be tamed, though they are a bit different. They can be told to stay, but when they are told to come with you, they instead just wonder around. To take them on your journey with yourself, you have to use the rope to do so. (This might change depending on how annoying the feature might be)

    PEAT and FELTILIZER

As u/BottlebrushBuckeye pointed out, there are also peat blocks. It generates in the Swamp Forests and Classic Swamps. It can be used as coal and is renewable. Its also eatable restoring half a drumstick. Its can be used in the crafting of suspicious stew - giving you instant health, and you can use it in potions as well.

You can also craft a feltilizer with 4 of the peat blocks, its used similarly to bone meal.

    POTION OF BRAVERY

This potion is made by using peat. It grants temporary hit points and adds bonuses to attacks, but it ends in nausea, making it balanced. Are you brave enough to try the real deal?

That's it, for now. There are a lot of other things the swamps could use, but those are the easiest ones to do. I've tried to really enhance (or one might say - enchant) the game, without adding a lot of new and pointless stuff. Hopefully this achieved that goal.

Third sibling in the Sticky blocks family

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:10 AM PDT

I wish they could add in the Nether update another sticky block that would thrive where other blocks are lacking.

I'm introducing to you THE SPECTRE BLOCK

Would be crafted with drops from new ghost mob in Soulsand Valley

    1. Entity interaction Slime block: bounces mobs back into the air Honey block: sticks them to itself Spectre block: ignores them

My idea is that spectre block goes one step further than scaffolding and doesn't let entities stand on it at all. This has several uses: a) easier to access redstone circuits made of spectre b) flying crops collection system that doesn't sweep items to blind spots c) complex flying machines that have easier cockpit access through spectre parts

    1. Redstone power Slime block: transparent full-block, can be powered by redstone Honey block: transparent not full-block, can't be powered by redstone Spectre block: ultra-transparent full-block, can be transparent, but can't update redstone

This is idea came from the fact that spectre block isn't exactly physical block. Its movement can't create updates. Additionaly to make things more interesting, ultra-transparent means it can't be detected by an Observer.

Other ideas that could be included: - fire can't be placed on it and standing in it extinguish people that are on fire - can be waterlogged making it basically a pipe - wouldn't cause suffocate damage but would apply hunger effect - you can't mine it and to break it you have to use new tool or bucket

    Dyable Elytras

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 08:24 PM PDT

I feel that the weird purple / grey-ish coloring for the Elytra has been the norm for flight for too long. A simple mechanic to dye the Elytra would be a small, but a rather nice touch to update, much like having the dyeable leather horse armor.

Honey Piston, for pulling entities and interacting with honey blocks.

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 01:50 PM PDT

The Sticky Piston can currently interact with honey blocks even though slime blocks can't. To solve this problem Sticky Pistons should be separated into Slime Pistons and Honey Pistons.

Both versions would be seemingly identical except for the Slime Piston wouldn't pull honey blocks and the Honey Piston wouldn't pull slime blocks. The Honey Piston could also have the ability to pull (ofc push as well) entities.

    Suggest anything else below.

Add small voice lines when you approach wandering traders and villagers. They would not be said it would be in subtitles. here's an example (weaponsmith) "Could I interest you in an Iron Axe? Or maybe these iron boots perhaps?" (Wandering Trader) " This coral is pretty hard to get, you have to travel far in the ocean you know!" Depending on your status with them vice lines would change i'm saying this because Villagers seem really stupid now.

    Cold and Bold Update

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 09:37 PM PDT

The Snowy biomes don't have any thing to them other than strays and polar bears, well this is a complete overhaul to these biomes.

    Biomes

    Pine Forest

Wait, you think this biome is to similar to the taiga. Well here is what an actual pine tree looks like, [Here is it](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinus_densiflora#/media/File:Pinus_syluestriformis_(Takenouchi)T.Wang_ex_Cheng.JPGT.Wang_ex_Cheng.JPG)). The biome is rare but offers good loot, like abandoned wool tents with gold swords, diamonds and basic loot. A new mob appears here, the Raven, they watch from above for a perfect time to steal loot like diamonds. When you have precious loot in your hands they take it and fly to the tops, the only way to get your items back is by throwing food onto the ground or killing them. Killing have 50% rate and dropping food have a 100% rate of getting your items back.

    Deep Snow Pits

Since snowier snow is being added then expand it to other places. Random pits will spawn in the snow biome and your able to sink in it. On the banks your encounter giant tusks, frozen fish (will explain later), and bones. Its just aesthetically cool.

    Boneyards

These strange biomes contains large ribs exposed, strange skulls, large claws and carcasses. Wtachers spawn here.

    Mobs

    Mammoths

Large elephantine beast will spawn in groups of 5 and travel the harsh landscapes. They are not tamable but to have a tamed variant (will get into later). They stand 5 blocks tall and with 3 block long tusks they are impossible but they are not hostile, they are neutral, you can make them hostile by wielding a weapon near a calf. They have a certain distaste in illagers, they attack pillager patrols and actively hunt pillager outposts and wreck them by destroy 10% of it and killing 2 pillagers, after these attacks pillagers will rebuild and prepare for the next attack. Mammoths have 60hp and deal 5 hearts of damage. Drops are 4-6 wool, 3-5 leather and 2 bone blocks to represent tusks

    Musk Ox

These variants of the cow are fatter and have bigger horns, their neutral and hostile when a calf is nearby. They have 10hp and deal 2 hearts of damage. Their drops are 2-4 wool, 1-3 leather and 2-5 raw beef.

    Snowern

A white wyvern that spawns in ice spikes biome. They perch on the ice spikes and roar onto the moon. They set fire on local villages and pillager outposts to show they have no sides. These beasts around noon fly around to find a mammoth, ravager or musk ox to feast upon, They grab the poor animal fly high around 120 y and drop the creatures killing them and grabbing their drops and consuming them. They are tamable but in a different way, you sneak and hit them with a sword to challenge them to a duel. A health bar appears and you fight the beast, after you lower the health a tamed version spawned and you ride it and shoot fireballs by left clicking on it.

    Polar Bears

Polar bears are so fricking bland, I mean c'mon you mojang you could've done better. I'm now fixing this disappointment. The are hostile if your 7 blocks withing their range, if your approaching them too close they will stand up and roar directly at you. If you kill one you get lower popularity in a village because a variant of them spawns in the village, it will also do another thing which I will get into later in the end. They also can climb on the sides of ice blocks and attack Snowerns when perching on ice spikes causing them to fall to heir deaths as Ice spikes reach up to 140 y. They also attack wolfs especially puppies, Their one of the only mobs that are able to face mammoths and attack them, They only attack calves, they dig out snow and grab a piece of tall grass and wave it around a bit attracting calves away from their herds and attack them. They are the apex predators of this ecosystem, they even challenge themselves, when 2 polar bears meet they stand up on their feet and start attacking each other, mother polar bears actively try to avoid these conflicts by running away when they sense another polar bear. A polar bear variant called the gentle bear will spawn in these villages and play with children by throwing snowballs at them, These snowballs called Play-balls won't deal damage and alert iron golems. These bears also defends the village at night

    Wolves

Make them spawn in snowy biomes.

    Watchers

Watchers are strange icy hawks that rest near the Deep Snow Pits and Bone yards. They screech and caw ear piercing sounds. They are purely aesthetic

    Strange Polar Men.

Polar Men are bipeds with polar bear heads and stocky bodies, they wield bone spears and hatchets. They are nomads traveling in groups of 3-5 with 2 armored polar bears and 1 armored mammoth, these mobs are like their wild counterparts except they don't attack each other and have spike shoulder blades. They are neutral setting up camp by building simple tents and placing campfires, they stay in these camps hunting animals and setting up traps trap around . After 3-6 days they destroy everything and pack up to move to another location. They have constant encounters with pillagers and are hostile to them. You can challenge one with a duel except instead of taming it gives valuable loot

New Blocks, Items and Non Mob Entities

    Animal Traps

This block resembles an evoker fang but wider. Place it down then place a food item that attracts a certain type of mob: Carrots for pigs and rabbits, wheat for cows and sheep, grass for mammoths, etc. Once an animal set foot on the trap, the trap makes aloud snap noise and traps the animal slowly damaging, you can disable the trap by shifting and pressing it with a stick, obtainable by polar men duels.

    Bone Spears

A bone spear is craft able in a shovel like way, the spear has long reach up to 5 blocks. It's dps is 6.7 as spears cumbersome, but deals 5 damage to a mob if hit. It can be enchanted with the usual weapon enchantments but has a couple of unique enchantments. Giants Doom, this enchantment makes it deal extra damage to large mobs like mammoths, musk oxes, ravagers, dragons, elder guardians and other large mobs. Another is Reach, it increases the reach each block per level, it has 2 levels.

    Carts

Carts are 2 by 3 entity that you can leash and pull it or leash it to a horse or pig and ride them to pull it. You can shift and left-click on it with a block like a crafting table in it and have the ability to use it while in a cart, this can help making bases easier. To destroy the carts shift and right-click. obtainable by polar men duels

    Fishing Nets

With this item you can throw onto water to catch large amounts of fish, it can also be used to catch mobs on land by throwing it to the animal slowing it for 2 seconds, obtainable by villager trading

    Ice Darts

Throw able darts that only go 5 blocks before falling to the ground. This balances it as it inflicts slowness 3 for 45 seconds. Obtainable by polar men duels.

    Icicles

They spawn in snow caves and under cliffs, These 3 block tall ice stalactites have a chance to fall on you and damage 7 hearts of health.

    Geotipi

A strange purple crystal found in clumps on the surface of Ice Spikes Biomes. When mined they drop GEotopi Powder, when crafted with a suspicious stew It increases the time of the effects.

    Zygonite

Another crystal, It's blood red and shiny. This rare crystal is found in Polar Men Camps as large blocks, when destroyed they drop a zygonite shard which is used to create a zygonite spear. The spear starts of as the same damage as a punch and very dull but it starts getting stronger and brighter as you kill more mobs. the highest damage is 8 but after 1000 ticks it goes back to normal.

    Weather and Others

    Blizzards

Their is a rare chance that a thunderstorm will turn into a blizzard, blizzards are dangerous as they limit visibility and start hurtling hail. Hail comes in 3 forms; small-they deal half a heart of damage and are very common, medium they are the size of mob heads and deal 2 hearts of damage- uncommon, big these hail pieces are the size of full blocks and deal 5 hearts of damage. During blizzards; Polar Bears become more aggressive and hostile, wolves are hostile, snowerns are faster, mammoths become hostile and group up with musk ox, rabbits and foxes become faster as chickens become neutral. Mobs also try to seek shelter like rabbits and foxes dig holes and chickens can kick them out, Polar Mean build a quick cube structure of wooden planks, Mammoths and musk oxes also flee to the forests and snowerns are more cautious and dodge anything else in the sky, and Polar Bears dig caves and are resistant to chickens trying to kick them out.

    Frozen Mobs

In caves of snow biomes, they have a more blue hue than their unfrozen counterparts, when you place a light source near them they unfreeze in 2000 ticks. These unfrozen mobs are passive to you.

    The Soul Sand Golem

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:18 PM PDT

This is actually a repost of something from two months ago, but it was small and terrible.

The Soul Sand Golem is a...

The Soul Sand Golem is a pretty thick golem, being 1.5 blocks thick. It is 1.8 blocks tall, and moves sluggishly at 1 block a second.

When the Soul Sand Golem sees a hostile entity (including players), it will charge to 8blocks/s.

The Soul Sand Golem attacks by swiping to the side, and knocks enemies accordingly.

It has 40 hearts of health and deals 2 hearts of damage - but knocks you up to 10 blocks (on an unarmored player).

This Golem is meant as an aggressor on Nether Fortresses, which aren't exactly that deadly. These things wail while charging.

When the Golem encounters a Piglin, the Golem will not charge the group. It will wander off instead.

It drops soul sand and netherwarts.

When splashed with a potion, it will yell in outrage and charge the potionthrower. However, since it's not exactly absorbent, being saturated with souls and all, the potion will instead emit from him on the next attack. Don't splash damage on him, but splashing healing is fine.

When lit on fire, it will considerably slow down, but not take damage. Instead, it will wait it out until it's off-fire.

It deals 4 hearts of damage while on fire, but less knockback.

Soul Sand Golems will not even regard Iron Golems or Snow Golems. It is only able to see the living, and is made of vengeful souls.

You can create one of these by putting 5 soul sand in the shape of a cross, and giving it a potion of Strength, Healing, or Night Vision will activate it.

Note that these are vengeful spirits and are never friendly. These cause mayhem, and are good distractions, but don't expect them to guard your house.

    Ideas for the Crossbow

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 05:30 PM PDT

Firstly, I think that arrows and rockets should not be the only thing that can be shot out of crossbows. I think that you should be able to shoot almost everything out of them. For things that build upon each other, like blocks, fences, and iron bars, they could be placed on the surface where it is shot, and continuously shooting them on top of each other could build a tower, so it essentially allows for long-range building

I also think there could be a new enchantment for the crossbow. it could be called Growing/Bonemeal and it could allow for entities that grow such as saplings and flowers to grow when shot by an arrow shot from a growing bow. It could also allow for those things that grow to be spawned full grown if shot from a growing crossbow. The way this would work is to put the entity in questions (ie: sapling) in the offhand before you shoot, just like what is done for firework rocket launchers

    Splash bottle of honey

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:45 AM PDT

Making a splash bottle of honey would be just like every other potion, adding gunpowder in a brewing stand. A splash bottle of honey would give the entity on the receiving end slower attack speed.

alternate effects (these are effects instead of the first not additions to it):

    1. no jump, like standing on a honey block

    2. sticking to the sides of blocks, like honey blocks (this could be in addition to no jump)

    3. slowness

    4. attracting bees

    5. attracting passive mobs (mostly livestock type mobs)

Ender Soup gives an effect (30 sec - 120 sec ) that makes all thrown enderpearls have a 75 or 100% chance that they will not break and they will go back to your inventory/drop as an item.

Optionally it could be better than beetroot soup : 8 hunger points instead of 6.

So i played the newest snapshot, but still one thing doesn't make any sense to me, i can understand that slime blocks may be kinda immune to lava, but honey block with hot things nearby should get hardened. Unlike other blocks you can eat it giving you naunesia II but full bar of food. It wil not stick blocks but it would look like very dirty glass (good use for rundown houses). There is four ways to get it: 1. Place it in the nether, i mean c'mon, if water dissapears here it means there's very hot in here 2. Give it to the furnance or smoker 3. Lava, it's hot too so why not 4. Place on magma block if water isn't nearby, if magma block can damage you, it's hot as well, but it will be longer process, because magma block isn't as hot as lava.

Give your suggestions 'bout it guys!
