    Down To Earth's Center

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:01 AM PDT

When you reach bedrock level in the Caves and Cliffs Nether, you get an achievement known as Journey to the Earth's Center, in which the description reads:

" Reach the lowest level in the Nether. "

This awards 50G and a free mining belt in the Character Creator when first unlocked.

You should be able to replace Armor with shift-click

    Posted: 17 May 2021 07:46 AM PDT

This is not a huge Idea but I think every one of us had this situation. You were working on a tall building, bridging from one end island to another or something like this. You jumped thinking you had your elytra equipped but you didn´t. Removing the chestplate and putting on a elytra midair can be deadly. Or entering the nether and forgetting to put on golden boots.

Instead of opening your inventory and putting on the armor by hand you should be able to shift-click on armor and it replaces the one you have equipped. When right-clickling with armor in your hotbar it should replace your current piece of armor too.

Redstone lamps should change brightness depending on the strenght of the redstone signal strenght

    Posted: 17 May 2021 11:02 AM PDT

This would not be a large change, but would make it easier to add more variety to lighting in builds.

    "Reflection" Enchantment

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:51 AM PDT

An enchantment for the shield - "Deflection".

The enchantment would increase the chance of and distance of projectiles being deflected and bounced off shields. It would also increase the damage of the projectile (Say if a skeleton shoots a arrow on you, and you block it. If it were to bounce back and hit the skeleton, the enchantment would make the deflected arrow deal more damage to the skeleton than normal).

Shields don't really have any enchantments of use currently (besides from unbreaking and mending) and it would be cool if a maxed out set of gear also included an enchanted shield!

Having this enchantment on a shield would also make it so less arrows gets stuck in your shield after a fight.

Librarian villagers would sell this book, and it would be able to find just like most other enchanted books.
It would have a max level of 2, where level 1 increases chance of deflection as well as deflection damage, and level 2 would increase those stats as well as travel distance on the deflected projectile, so it doesn't just fall to the ground on the block in front of you, it would instead fly about 2-4 blocks forwards.

I think this would be a really cool addition to the game, and I'm open to any feedback in the comments!

    EDIT: Change name to "Deflection"

    “Polished Glowstone”

    Posted: 17 May 2021 05:39 AM PDT

The texture of the glowstone is kind of bad, so it would be great if you could make it more cool. It would be made by cooking a glowstone block and the texture would be something like the sea lantern, but in yellow color.

    Attack Reach Attribute

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:58 PM PDT

Plain and simple, an attribute like speed, damage, armor but for a melee weapon's effective range, maybe also for block breaking/placing/interacting, I'm not sure. This would be a great tool for map makers and people who use other command block related things for mini-games or more, as the versatility offered by being able to modify reach can have as much of an impact as speed does in Minecraft combat.

This already exist within one of the combat test versions of Minecraft (hence why I stated I didn't know if it would work with block related actions, and also why there's no specific math or info on how it works within this post), making it a relatively simple-ish thing to add since the code already exist. Even if it goes unused in the base game, like in a similar fashion to the luck attribute, there will be plenty of opportunities to use this attribute in command block related projects and maps, and would be a great addition to 1.17 as way to add some extra bonuses for command users.

Thank you for reading, feedback is always welcome.

Picking a Block With a Tool Shouldn't Replace The Tool With The Block.

    Posted: 17 May 2021 11:03 AM PDT

it should replace the first available block in your hotbar. Tools are always needed in my hotbar but the blocks are interchangeable.

Could also apply to more than just blocks?

    'Ricochet' achievement

    Posted: 17 May 2021 10:36 AM PDT

You would unlock the 'Ricochet' achievement if you kill a skeleton with only it's own arrows(via shield). The info would be 'Kill a skeleton with a shield'.

    Abandoned Dock

    Posted: 17 May 2021 06:14 AM PDT

We have sunken pirate ships in minecraft but where did they set sail in the first place. Abandoned docks would give an explanation to this and you can only find them on beaches. They may can have loot like iron and other things. There would also be a low chance of a small fishing boat next to the dock.

    corruption potion

    Posted: 17 May 2021 02:52 PM PDT

by adding a chorus fruit to awkward water (in a brewing stand ofc), you can make a potion, which partially turns you into an enderman, removes the teleportation effect from eating chorus fruits, removes pearl damage, and endermen don't get mad at you if you look at them, but also you're allergic to water, mobs like golems start being aggressive and you see everything a little bit more purple. the potion would make the player leave purple particles while walking. higher potion levels would increase the velocity of thrown ender pearls, allowing you to teleport a little bit farther

this potion would be very useful for exploring the nether or the end (mainly if you're looking for the elytra or you ran out of fireworks and food), but it might be risky in the overworld since it can rain at any moment

just a random idea what could the end update bring us if it was a real thing

Next update idea - The Deep Depths

    Posted: 16 May 2021 09:51 PM PDT

First off yes I'm aware we already got one semi recently

But given the entire world height is being changed why not explore the idea of deep depths? Where strange sea life and nature thrives, deep winding ruins of a long lost era hidden in its dark depths with monstrous creatures of both living, construct and undead among the ruins and formations

Not only could this be a real nice cherry ontop of the caves and cliffs working off that but they could also use it as a way to explore some ocean based mobs both from hidden depths when it comes and maybe the sea monster mob that lost the first vote

Ontop of that i think it would be awesome to get some really distinct ruins, that kinda work like the ocean temples and nether ramparts with large winding broken pieces maybe some collapsed or shattered as beyond the stronghold or wooden mansion we really dont have a large scale/ spread out structure in the overworld and they could really make them both challenging and rewarding with puzzles, deadly enemies made up of ancient constructs like forgotten golems ,sea monsters or sharks you name it, and undead such as coral skeletons(hidden depths dlc) could be a cool addition

It feels like something that would and should come with the world height and depth change and could be the ocean equivalent of the deep dark, hell given the fact the worlds depth has pretty much doubled they could really explore the idea of the deep ocean and even say have sort of oceanic shelves as mini biomes which exist as the ocean goes deeper sort of as a biome transition/depth transition

Honestly I was inspired alot by not only irl deep sea stuff and seeing the new stuff coming in hidden depths dlc from minecraft dungeons which I will say I love the fact it explores the idea of much more larger and complex ruins and enviorments and i think the deep depths could be a great way of adding both great challenges and rewards in the game :D

Power Enchantment Increases Arrow Shooting Distance

    Posted: 17 May 2021 06:51 AM PDT

The Power enchantment in bows, in addition to increasing the arrow's damage, should increase the speed and force at which it is fired. making travel distance longer and more accurate.

And in a certain way making it more realistic, since doing more damage means that more strength is applied when shooting.

Armor Polishing [A Cooperative feature for traveling players]

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:15 PM PDT

Recently I was curious on exploring a few more uses for the brush tool plan to be added with Archeology. That's when I had a rather cute idea that could be a multiple exclusive feature.

When in combat it should be expected that armor gets damaged and worn out. In this case a brush could be used to clean away all the grime and temporarily improve its effectiveness. This could simply be done by placing armor on an armor stand and brushing it done nicely. However, if a friend is along this process can be done anywhere at anytime without taking off the armor. This could be a friendly jesters similar to blocking with a sword back in the old days of minecraft.

Doing this will grant a temporary [Polished] effect that gives a weaker version of the more powerful [Resistance] effect. So this is not entirely game breaking in any ways except to be a friendly cooperative moment between players. If you have any suggestions do let me know.

A Mob for Land Travel for Two Players

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:05 PM PDT

A Mob for Land Travel for Two Players

The best way to get across the world in Minecraft is horses and elytra. But if you're in multiplayer, either with a single person or multiple people, you'll have to get more of those. And boats aren't as usable, requiring a set path of ice. So, how do we fix this without changing existing features?
    Let me introduce you to:

The Grazbull (name could definitely be changed, as it's not the best)

    https://preview.redd.it/j3dgugevlqz61.png?width=600&format=png&auto=webp&s=0d07ae268f3683d1c591acb66cc52d791198cf87

The Grazbull is native to Dark Oak Forests. It is neutral, and will attack if you hurt it. Its drops are basically just the cow's. You can breed it with mushroom blocks (red, brown, or both, idk).
Onto the main point of the suggestion, if you feed a Grazbull enough mushrooms you'll tame it, and can ride it. You have to lead it with a Mushroom on a Stick (fishing rod and red/brown mushroom). Up to 3 other players can also ride it.
The Grazbull is between a horse and firework-powered elytra in speed, but if you haven't gone to the end or gotten enough elytras yet, this bovine would be the best way to explore and get around.

Underground structures need to be updated

    Posted: 17 May 2021 03:07 PM PDT

All these underground structures haven't been updated for nearly FIVE years now, and the upcoming Caves and Cliffs would be a perfect opportunity to enhance these structures.

Dungeons - There should be an entrance and an exit, and depending on the type of dungeon (spawner type), it could have a different layout

Mineshafts - Make them more abandoned-like. For example, the mineshaft bridges could have like half the wooden planks missing or something like that. Same with the pillars.

Strongholds - Because they are important and only 128 per world, make them more unique. Perhaps they could hold some unique or exclusive loot. Also improve their generation. I don't want ravines cutting off stronghold pathways.

Minecraft bedrock should be ported to mac.

    Posted: 17 May 2021 04:22 PM PDT

Many people currently own minecraft on a console or phone (myself included) and want to switch to playing on computer, however do not want to play on java, nor do they want to run windows to play.

Playing Minecraft bedrock has many advantages, so people should have the option to play bedrock if they are a mac user.

Using wet sponges to clean copper blocks

    Posted: 16 May 2021 07:26 PM PDT

It would be interesting to give a use to wet sponges.

Either right clicking or crafting a wet sponge with a weathered copper block will decrease the weathered state by one. Shift right clicking will just place the sponge on the block.

    Hanging spider

    Posted: 17 May 2021 01:52 PM PDT

I don't have a good name for it but it will be different and unique from normal spiders. It spawns in jungles and rarely in deep caves. The appearance is green and they could have different black patterns on them. There is a rare chance that one is glowing bright green. They hang from the ceiling of caves or hang from the bottom of tree leaves. Sometimes they are closer to the ground and hanging from a thread. If the thread or block they are on is destroyed they will fall down.

If something walks underneath them they will drop on the target's head blocking their vision and dealing damage. The target can attack them to get them off their head after enough damage and then the spider will run away if alone but attack if it outnumbers you. The glowing variant is more aggressive and can give you poison or nausea.

When killed they will drop the following: string, web, spider eye. They might also drop green spider shell (hypothetical)

This mob will add a unique challenge to the jungle and sometimes caves. It also is a source of cobwebs because mineshafts are more limited.

The spider shell is hypothetical because I can't think of many uses for it but I feel like people want it to have a unique drop, here are possible uses. It can be crafted into green or lime green dye, It can be used to make a potion of fluorescence which allows you to glow like the glow squid (easily visible at any light level).
