We did this last year for Christmas and it was very well-received! This server is for those who are looking for the long run experience (we don't change the map.) and don't mind playing on a semi-active server. For the rules common sense is all I ask, you can even use modded clients to an extent (no fly, x-ray & other unfair movement and economy breaking cheats). I don't want to limit the way you want to play the game. Server is in the EU (Paper 1.16.4) and has been rollin' since 16.01.2020 19:00 UTC and there are no plans to stop it even if noone plays anymore. If you want to join, you have to join our discord server. We aren't a lot of people right now, that's why we are searching for more. The playstyle of the server is more of a community server, so we build stuff together, but we also strongly encourage building secret rooms and such in your bases, using the create mod. Thats why we also disabled player names. The server-ip is found on the discord server and you need to tell me your minecraft username there aswell, so I can whitelist you. Create modThe small modpack is mainly based on the Create mod and we are probably going to update to 1.16 as soon as the mod is updated. If you don't know the create mod, you should watch a video to it, it really is a cool mod. But i will give you a very short description here. The mod is mainly used to build cool farms and other contraptions. It introuduces things like moving blocks, that you can sometimes even collide with and a lot of other cool features. You can build all sorts of things with it, ranging from a rope elevator to even a fully aoutomatic cake farm (thats also shown in one of the trailes). Rules

With a select group of friends we've met throughout different server's we have decided to create our own server. The main driver behind this idea is that we are all in our mid 30's, and thus we don't have a lot of time to play unlike our younger counterparts. This renders us slow, and the community changes to quick on all those servers. You login for a day, and next time a week later half of the players has changed. Because we still enjoy to play minecraft, and with a group of friends, we've decided to create our own, but more mature server. Since the start of the server we have slowly been recruiting new members. Currently we have a very nice adult community ranging between 20 and 45 years old. This creates a nice dynamic on the server, everyone is very involved and always willing to help others. We have a discord to stay in touch, coordinate projects and see who is playing when. Rather than having everybody fend for themselves, with their private trading center, iron farm, and whatnot, we have coordinated projects like 1 communal iron farm, 1 communal villager trading center etc. I'm sure you get the point. This however does not mean that you cannot build your own farms! To ensure we stay a tight community we have a limited map-size of 25k. Which should be enough to last for years. We based on friendship, teamwork and respect. The server is currently about 2 months old, and because of our pace, we have more plans than actual buildings. We offer a Multiplayer experience in a Vanilla Minecraft world, where you can create and make whatever you like in a safe and positive environment. About the server: Oftentimes the multiplayer experience can negatively impact the vanilla minecraft experience, or vice versa. Therefore, the only plugins we have aid grief prevention, administration, and those that enhance the vanilla multiplayer experience. With a dedicated discord and an admin team, we're sure that you'll enjoy a great multiplayer experience on our server without issue. With the game difficulty set to hard, and PVP enabled (although only used for consensual purposes) you'll for sure need to make a friend or two to keep the zombies at bay! Who we are: We're a bunch of 18+ from all walks of life that have come together to play Minecraft to create, build, collect and explore. Near Vanilla provides that perfect place for us because we have an emphasis on putting real life first and so our server is kept as a place for fun and relaxation with friends. We act and communicate in a responsible manner and therefore expect that others do the same; and as such we are a server free from bullying, griefing, stealing, and general negative attitudes that can unfortunately be found in SMPs often. What you can expect: The moment you log on to Near Vanilla you can be sure you'll receive a warm welcome, instant offers of help and support, and a server that is really happy to have made an additional friend. Often we run community events and work on projects together, however playing more solo is fine too - there is no pressure! As a group we are extremely interested in your views and opinions, and so generally any changes made to the server are voted on first because we always put our community ahead. Expect to have a say and be heard! Zero tolerance policy: No hacking, glitching or duping allowed. If we see a player do one of these three things there will be no mercy. This will result in a permanent ban.
