The server operates like a regular server where you're free to play as you please within reason. | Posted: 29 Nov 2021 10:31 AM PST Welcome, Neighbors! WHY HOMESTEADCRAFT? HomesteadCraft is an RPG-inspired adult MC server with a vanilla-feel; think vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. In order to create a server with that old-school RPG feel, we use a few plugins, including: McMMO- A skill-leveling, perk-unlocking masterpiece! Such skills include Acrobatics, Archery, Unarmed, Excavation, Herbalism, Alchemy and many more. Acuteloot- Adds literally BILLIONS of unique named items. With billions of names, over 15 different special effects (check out the arrow-riding enderbow or the timewalker boots!), different particle effects and a rarity system, the combinations are practically limitless. Find AcuteLoot items in naturally-spawned chests or get lucky when enchanting to roll the dice! You'll probably notice the health bars floating above mobs now, too. There's also damage counters when you hit them. Outside of the RPG-inspired plugins, we also use a claims plugin. Since this is a grief-free server (see rules below), you can imagine this one helps prevent a LOT of things. With an easy-to-use GUI, you can set permissions to control who may or may not build, open chests, place lava, break blocks or even set an enter/exit message to display to visitors inside each of your claimed areas. We currently have a world border of 7k in each direction from spawn, making sure you'll always have a place to build or explore, with future expansions planned for each major update. A THRIVING COMMUNITY With an admin team that strives to assure constant 20TPS, and a friendly and helpful mod team, we try to build a close-knit community of friends from all over the world who just want to hangout with other adults and play some Minecraft. We have an active Discord community (with integration between game chat and Discord that lets you see what's going on in either), where you can set up trades, talk to everyone else or share screenshots of your builds. There's even a dedicated meme channel! As with the server, our Discord server is for adults only. Both are 18+ because we're not interested in dealing with kid-related drama. So I am advertising in the hopes of getting new players. Basics: We will have a shopping district and a Gaming District, anywhere else you can build whatever you want. Main age range is 10 - 20, but anyone is welcome. Streaming / YT is not required but is allowed. It's called Melon Colony and it's all about having fun and taking Minecraft survival to the next level. We are starting a new season (hard reset for 1.18) where we plan to play long-term expanding spawn into a great shopping and community area. Melon Colony has the best community I have ever seen from my 7+ years of server moving - sticking with it for the past 2.5 years. Whilst bias I urge you to check it out. The sever has an existing player base with highs approaching 20 players a day towards the start and 4 for a calm and steady playstyle. Uniquely for this season (season 4), we are experimenting with encouraging players to start at spawn as to expand in an orderly fashion with possibly districts, harbouring shops and bases alike integrated into the (hopefully) live and awesome town environment. HOWEVER we are not enforcing this on anyone - we just encourage it. Personally as I player rather than a server owner I can say we offer a magnitude of playstyles, with my personal favourite being forming groups with friends IRL and online, then constructing large bases with any genre. The bases we pull off are nothing short of mega and quite honestly keeps making me come back to server hosting. about the server itself: -The server itself is a vanilla / improvement of life data pack, SURVIVAL SERVER*.* -As a strong community, we like to keep it like that - we enforce a 17+ age *for the sake of maturity. (*You can however still join if proven to be either mature enough, and/or a good builder/redstoner etc etc - We will have a shopping area that mainly uses diamonds as currency, however many people make private deals for whatever works, plus alliances to create wealthy groups/individuals. -We don't look up to Hermitcraft, but many of us watch it so don't expect any Hermitcraft fan idolising like you see a lot around here. -We use quality of life data packs like heads and others LIKE VR SUPPORT! -The world starts as soon as 1.18 drops, < 1 week to go! Best time to join with 0 disadvantages! -Expect community farms and events if interested -We don't support irrational behaviour such as: bullying, racism or any other form of profanity. This WILL result in a ban. -We hope to link as many builds as possible to a community nether hub later on. This server has created friends for life and is a great way to meet new, like minded people looking to just play some games together. We often have big server builds where everyone is involved, as well as an expansive shopping area. Everyone tends to stay fairly close with eachother, helping out wherever needed and working on builds with one another. Since then we've had one full season and another one is coming in a couple of days. HermitTown is inspired a lot by Hermitcraft, so if you like the series, come check us out! I'd like to point out that we have a few quality of life datapacks and a few plugins, but no mods, and we try to make the ranks mostly cosmetic and balanced.
