NotHermitCraft is recruiting for new members to join our existing second season in preparation for the upcoming 1.18 update. We're running a 1.17.1 Fabric server with a soft border 1k by 1k map that we will open up fully when we can move to 1.18 Fabric asap (and we will wipe everything outside that border, and in the end so players can get themselves elytra etc). NotHermitCraft started in November 2019 when a bunch of HermitCraft fans came together to make a server inspired by the series on Reddit. We had a quick Season 0 to make sure it all worked (it did), and we ran our Season 1 between March 2020 to June 2021, when 1.17 came out. In our first season, on top of people's individual bases, farms, and mega builds, we built out a Tuscan style spawn village, a big shopping district (including Grian's barge), city district, community industrial district, a gaming district (including a parkour volcano), held events like mayoral elections, ZAMBIES, 3rd Life, and we even had our own version of Decked Out - it was amazing. In season 2, on top of everyone's own beautiful bases, we've got a summer camp style community spawn called Camp Character, a shopping city at the centre of the map at war with itself, a community villager trading hall, mega builds, farms, gigantic airships, and even our own Hogwarts. As the Hermits have, we've brought in a custom data pack so we can make our own items (generally limited to special events and circumstances), so we have a sorting hat, our own house wizards hats, wands, and broomsticks. Anyone that joins the server can be sorted into a house to join in the event. We're currently building out the mini-game district which will be where houses can score points. We've also been holding UHC events ad hoc which are great fun. We're planning on holding more ZAMBIES events (one person becomes a zombie who can turn whenever they want, when they kill someone they become a zombie, last man standing), an election for mayor of the city (Mineami), and we'll be running our own version of Last (3rd) Life again. We have players from 14-40ish from all over the world including the USA, Canada, UK, and Europe, with a diverse mix of male, female, non-binary, trans, abled, and disabled people. We have a really active Discord channel with a bot that lets you chat back and forth with players on the server too. We have a solid group of core players, as well as more casual players, and are specifically looking for more core players who expect to play quite a lot and really engage with and help inspire the community. We're looking for more event organisers, role players, mini-game makers, very regular players, all of which really enjoy end game Minecraft SMP. The basic rule in griefing is simple, but very complex at the same time. If you have noticed, the server doesn't have any land protection. That is intentional. Minecraft is not intended to have such protections in place, otherwise it would have been added to vanilla a very long time ago. Players are to be respectful of others' possessions and not be little thieving gremlins, but don't expect complete safety from pranks >:). But keep it in good fun, it's just a block game. And remember: Terrible Friends is not an anarchy server. If your intent is simply to be toxic and not add anything to the community, you are not wanted here. Discord: The discord is used to communicate with members and for members to communicate with each other. It is also used to list server information, rules, announcements relating to the server (hardware/software updates, minecraft updates, outages, events, etc.), and to whitelist people to the server itself. With family-like bonds, a flourishing economy, and a beautiful homeland, it's easy for the Origins to convince themselves that this is a paradise. They can live peacefully so long as they turn a blind eye to the barrier keeping them trapped in The Orchids, the strictly enforced curfew, and the occasional forced transformation of a human into an Origin. The Orchids is a server geared towards content creation. While it's not a requirement to be a content creator in order to join, you must be okay with potentially ending up on someone's stream or recording. The lore is planned, but not entirely scripted. There will be a Point A, Point B, and Point C, but what you do and say between those points is entirely up to you. This means this server will not have 'keepinventory' activated PvP is turned on, players will not be compensated for lost items in any way. As the name implies, we will not add plugins and buildings will not be protected, although this is not an anarchy server. Please respect other players and their property.
