We love playing as a community and generally interacting with new people, which is why we started a server. Our community is tight, and very welcoming! We are full of personable, interesting people, and I hope you give our server a shot. You'll meet lots of new people! About Us Colin and I are college students looking to play with new people! We're both engineering students and love to fiddle with redstone and farms. But we also love building beautiful structures and planning a nice base, and just generally hanging out and relaxing with some games. We encourage all playstyles and love to see the creative ways you guys play this game! We have experience hosting multiple servers in the past, such as Colincraft and Nebula Network, and have joined/played on many servers, too. Our goal is to not only create an active Minecraft server, but an active community and group of friends as well. That owner wasn't active anymore (neither were the mods), but we continued playing nonetheless, because we had a special bond with eachother. We decided to create our own server with me as the owner and that's how SocietyCraft was born. We stopped for a while, but we really missed the experiences we had with each other, so we decided to have a second season, that's how we got to this point right here! InfoThis is an Hermitcraft-like server. We have no desire to have a reset. With 1.15 we won't have to reset anything, with 1.16 we will only have to reset the nether. We have an entertainment district and we will have events for holidays like Christmas, Halloween and others. We are a friendly, growing vanilla community using no cheated items or abilities such as flight, teleportation or claims. We do have some plugins to protect our players and deal with those who dare do bother them. We try our best to involve our whole community and create something truly unique. We have started around 2 weeks ago and we already have a small (180 players) playerbase. We are looking for more dedicated friendly survival mates to play with. Whitelist We have a small whitelist application which all of our players have to fill. This like on many other servers, tries to prevent bad people (hackers, griefers, trolls) from joining but also gives us a small introduction about the player. Vanilla Sadly the upcoming updates show a tendency of making it harder and harder for us to create a lag-free experience using the default, fully vanilla server files. Thus we use a third party software called Paper Spigot. We highly modified it so it doesn't break features which are essential to some of us technical players. This also allows us to give cosmetic features to our kind donators, community members and stay completely play to win. Apart from these and some QoL improvements such as the Armour Stand Modifier book, Mob Heads we are completely vanilla. Transparency In our opinion the most important thing in any relation ship is honesty and transparency. We believe there is a relationship between a server's community and the administration team. We try to keep this so to say friendship as honest and warm as possible. We try to involve everyone and share what we are doing and why we are doing it. Work In Progress We used to have a server around five years ago and it got pretty popular. We were very unprofessional back then and now we are trying to recreate that in a much higher level. Players form their own nations, enforce their own rules, and are responsible for protecting what they've made. Playing as a hermit is an extra challenge compared to other Survival servers, it is almost like, multiplayer RLcraft: Punch a tree? No, you need to get sticks from leaves, and make planks from sticks. Make stone tools? You need to get flint or bone to make primitive tools instead. Oh major buff recently: Stone will make wooden-equivalent tools now! OK I've got a primitive tool, why isn't this stone breaking? Primitive tools are junk, you need to hit it 1-10 times until it randomly breaks. Iron/Bronze/Steel/Diamond are better. Found some iron, why can't I smelt it? Uhh I could explain how to make Factories, but you'd probably better join a nation or trade some logs at this point. OK fine, let's make a boat and sail to a nation! No, you can't make a boat without several factories, but you can use /ott for a one-time teleport to join a group :) Benefits of a nation: Factories can make things quicker and cheaper than normal, and the basic ones aren't very expensive. A small group of players can afford the intermediate ones too. The guy who logged on to quickly gear up and go raiding can't do that; your new friends with an iron sword and leather armor can take him out. Easier to build and protect a secure vault, where PrisonPearl can store captured prisoners. Or if you get captured, being in a nation can help negotiate your release or free you in a war. Who we are: We're a bunch of 18+ from all walks of life that have come together to play Minecraft to create, build, collect and explore. Near Vanilla provides that perfect place for us because we have an emphasis on putting real life first and so our server is kept as a place for fun and relaxation with friends. Often we run community events and work on projects together, however playing more solo is fine too - there is no pressure!
